Errors while rebuilding InterMedia index

While executing "alter index ABC.SAMPLE_INTERMEDIA_INDEX rebuild online parameters( 'sync memory 45M' );", we encounter the following error:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
ORA-20000: interMedia Text error:
DRG-50857: oracle error in drekmap (execute insert)
ORA-01562: failed to extend rollback segment number 6
ORA-01650: unable to extend rollback segment RBS06 by 130 in tablespace RBS
My configuration is as follows:
Oracle 8i (8.1.7.3)
SEGMENT TBLSPC INITIAL_EX NEXT_EX MIN_EX MAX_EX STATUS
SYSTEM SYSTEM 57344 57344     2      505 ONLINE

Questions:
1. What is the relationship between the RBS parameters and the operation to rebuild the intermedia index?
2. How do we optimally set up our RBS parameters OR organize the "alter index rebuild" command to not run into such issues?
Thanks in advance.

I would set up a large rollback segment (eg "BIGROLL") and offline all but BIGROLL before doing the rebuild.

Thanks in advance...It wasn't the direct cause of your error, but what were you doing trying to build an index in the SYSTEM tablespace?

  • Error while rebuilding a text index

I am on Oracle 10.2.0.3 and HP UNIX 11i. I am rebuilding a text index (textidx1) online
    using:
    Alter index rebuild textidx1;
If I do a query so index is used, I get:
ORA-29861: domain index is marked LOADING/FAILED/UNUSABLE
Error goes away after index is completely rebuilt.
Since I am rebuilding index online, this error should not occur, otherwise what
Is the purpose of on line index rebuild? Can someone explain how to get rid
Of the error. I cannot stop my application while rebuilding text indexes.

With text indexes if one adds the workd online:
    alter index X_TEXT_OBJECT_VALUE rebuild online
    ERROR at line 1:

  • Error while registering for index relevant events: Invalid RID: No reposito

    Hi,
I created an index and assigned a datasource to search the Windows network drive. I activated the index and now when I am  monitoring the application log, I see the error <b>Error while registering for index relevant events: Invalid RID: No repository manager found for prefix: and XIndexing documents failed. AbstractTrexIndex: indexing some of the resources failed Continue crawling and Indexing document failed. Access denied </b> for the <b>IndexmanagementService</b>.
When I see the queue status, the queue status is always idle, even after I activate the queue.
In the indexing monitor, I see the error <b>Trex: Preparation failed: index operation</b>
could anyone tell me what could be wrong?
    Thanks,

    Hi Christian,
    thanks for your reply.
we are using 7.2 SP02. Do you think it could be the version that has some issues with custom mapping functions?

  • Error while transporting database index into quality system

    Hello,
I am getting an error while transporting a new index in quality system.
I have created a new index for table VBFA in TRD and activity the object without errors. I even adjusted the database table using database utility.
While transporting the request there was a strange error "R3TRTABLVBFA was repaired in this system".
I retransported the objects using a new request. However I still got the same error.
    Please help.

    Navin,
No idea about the error you have mentioned but check the SAP Notes 185530 and see if you can avoid creating an index. In this Notes it is clearly mentioned on how to use VBFA table without any performance issues.

  • Error while importing an index

    Hi,
We are facing a problem while importing an index to the production region. Below are the details.
    1. A secondary index was created on standard SAP table ILOA in DEV region.
    2. The Index was successfully moved to the Quality system, without any glitches.
    3. Due to some issue (releated to testing, for which we had to revert back the changes), we had to delete the index on ILOA in the DEV region. The transports were moved to the PPD region and hence, the index on ILOA was deleted in PPD also.
    4. Once the issue related to testing was resolved, we again created an index on the table ILOA and moved it to PPD.
All these 4 mentioned steps happened successfully and in PPD there was no error while importing the transports.
But, while moving the above transports to the Production region, there was an error :
"Index ILOA~Y could not be activated
    (E - No index ILOA~Y found with status M)"
Please note that Y is the name of the index that was created on the table ILOA.
The error code that we have got is "8".
Can anyone please shed any light on what the issue is?? WE cannot re-import the transports in to Production without analysing this issue, because our client doesnt permit that.
Thanks and eagerly awaiting a kind reply.
    Regards,
    Raghavendra.

    Hi,
As pointed out earlier, everything is fine in the PPD region. However, the issue is while tranporting the change from QA system to the productions system.
Also, please note that the table is active in both the PPD and PRD system. (in PPD system with index and in PRD system without the index).
ALso, its not possible to manually adjust the table in SE14 in out production system.
Please let me know if you have any further ideas on this.
    Thanks a lot
    Raghavendra.

my database version is 9.0.1.1.1 and the version of intermedia text installed is 8.1.7. as i came to know that error might be due to external procedure calls. i checked the tnsnames and listener .ora files in my database home. i have extproc_connection_data entry in the tnsnames.ora. tnsping on extproc_connection_data is working fine.
but when i try to connect as system/manager@extproc_connection_data it throws a error. what might be the problem. can u help me out in this????

  • Error while rebuilding webdynpro application

    Hi,
When i am building my application i am getting two errors.
1 . This compilation unit indirectly references the missing type com.sap.tc.logging.Location (typically
*some required class file is referencing a type outside the classpath)     *
2 . The project was not built since its classpath is incomplete. Cannot find the class file for
*com.sap.tc.logging.Location. Fix the classpath then try rebuilding this project          *
Please suggest how to resolve these issues. I have checked the classpath and added the required jar
    files also.
    Thanks a lot.

JRE_LIB jar should be missing in your Java Build Path Libraries. If yes, add the same.
