ESB Invokes Web Service More than once
Hi,
I have an ESB that invokes a Web Service Asynchronously (Using SOAP). In certain scenarios Web Service takes as much as 5 minutes to complete its operations. In such cases i am able to see ESB generating multiple requests to the Web Service. Multiple Requests are not generated in case Web Service completes its operations within a shorter duration (duration is based on business scenarios). I tried invoking the web service directly and i found that web service is invoked only once even when it takes 5 minutes.
Please let me know if any of you have faced similair problems and also any possible ways of resolving this issue.
Thanks,
Rajesh
We found that the default retry property of esb was the root cause of the issue. But still why should the esb retry as the call to webservice is an async one. The ESB should have completed the process.
Why 5 minutes - Webservice performs a lot of validations and also the environment is a development one and not optimized.
Regards,
M.Rajesh

How to invoke web services in sequence in ESB?
Is there any way to invoke multiple services (web, adapter) in a sequence using only the ESB? (I don't want to bring in BEPL).
Something like this:
Read File using File Adapter into schema
|
v
Invoke database adapter to retrieve data and use it to enrich schema
|
v
Invoke web service to retrieve more data and use it to enrich schema
|
v
Send enriched schema to a final web service to perform some operation.
Thanks in advance.From a technical standpoint, all I want to do is move data from point a to endpoints b, c, and d, and then move the reply or the fault from one of endpoints b, c, or d (whichever one the request went to) back to a.
The "business logic" along the way is at 3 places:
(1). To enrich the data that's being moved. The enriching data is in a database someplace. The logic that determines what that data is in the database is in the original data (message).
Something like this:
//Based on values in the original message, get some row
If OriginalData.Body.field1 = X and OriginalData.SOAPHeader.field2 = y then retrieve Database.Row Z from the database
then
//Enrich the original message with the data from the retrieved row
OriginalData.Body.field3 = Database.Row Z.field9
(2). To decide where to move the data, i.e. b, c, or d. The decision to route the data dynamically retrieved from a web service.
Something like this:
Rule 1: If OriginalData.Body.field3 = A and OriginalData.SOAPHeader.field1= B then move data to endpoint b.
Rule 2: Or If OriginalData.Body.field2 = C and OriginalData.SOAPHeader.field4= C then move data to endpoint c.
Rule 3: Or If OriginalData.Body.field5 = C and OriginalData.SOAPHeader.field6= C then move data to endpoint d.
... and more combinations.
So, send web service the enriched data and it applies rules Rule 1, and it sends back "b". Send web service the enriched data and it applies rules Rule 2, and it sends back "c". Send web service the enriched data and it applies rules Rule 3, and it sends back "d". In this way, adding new rules to the web service lets the customer dynamically "grow" new endpoints.
(3). To transform the data from the format of point a to one of the formats of endpoints b, c, or d. The decision to transform the schema of the data is taken based on the outcome of the business logic applied in (2) above.
This is a sample use case that my customer is using to compare Oracle's ESB capabilities with other vendors', and I have to work within specific boundaries.
So, as I stated in my first post, I cannot use BPEL. All I have to establish is whether Oracle can do this using ESB. -
Ftp Adapter getting invoked more than once
Hello All,
I have an FTP polling on a remote server, the options that i chose are archive file after read. The problem is the bpel process is getting invoked more than once. If anyone encountered a similar problem, help is really appreciated.
Thanks
KrishnaHi Krishna,
What release are you on? refer to metalink note: 730515.1
In 10.1.3.4 MLR#7 this works:
Add the below section within BPELProcess and replace the bits in upper case to suit your code:

How to use same page fragment more than once in a page,
Hi Gurus,
How to use same page fragment more than once in a page. I have a complex page fragment which has lots of Bindings (Binding Property set with backingBean variables).
I want to use the same page fragment multiple times on the same page with different tabs.
I want different ApplicationModule Instance for the page fragment in different tabs.
So I have created a Bounded Taskflow with pagefragments which has this complex pagefragment.
I've dragged the taskflow to page and created regions.
I'm able to execute the page successfully when I have only one region but fails if I have region more than once in the page.
Can anyone help me how to resolve this issue.
Web User Interface Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework: section 19-2 states we can have same pagefragment more than once in a page.
Thanks,

Invoking web service from OBIEE11g failed socket timeout
Hi,
I encountered an error when I invoke web service from OBIEE 11g. The web serivce resides on Websphere running on other machine.
An error says that "Invoking web service failed due to socket timeout." and it seems that it stopped in just 40 secs.
Is there any settings of WebLogic server to avoid this? This web service normally runs for more than 60 sec.
I have checked several parameters in WebLogic admin console and changed those values, but I still receive the same error.
Invoking the same web service from SOAPUI sustains for more than 60 secs.
Regards,
Fujio SoneharaDon't be too surprised. Sun figured this bug out in short order. I got the same error message when trying to do the same thing, just for the heck of it. Reference this article for details.

It contains information about bugs fixed in the WSDP EA2. So in answer to your question, download the newer pack from

and your bug will go away. Happy Coding.

Regards,
Fujio SoneharaHey Eason,
As I had previously mentioned, I have checked the FE server certs and have mentioned the signing algorithm it used to sign the certs, which was sha1DSA and not sha1RSA, I even checked my CA list of issued certs and have found all certs are signed the same.
Signature algorithm: sha1DSA
Signature Hash Algorithm: sha1
Public Key: RSA (1024 bit)
I could run request and reinstall all day long it will still get the same certs signed with the algo..
Doing some research I attempted to see if I could change the signing cert for a specific cert template that was being used to issue the Lync FE certs... however seems that from according to
this, that I'd have to completely rebuild my CA before I'd be able to request and issue a cert with the proper signing algorithm?!
This
says its possible but not supported, what do I do in this situation? Is my only option to rebuild teh entire CA and cert infrastructure?
I noticed my CSP is set to Microsoft Base DSS Cryptographic Provider, and under the CSP folder there is no "CNGHashAlgorithm" key so I'm using a "Next Gen CSP" apparently? Is this CSP good enough to support Lync...Straight up where is
the Lync documentation on the CA setup requirements??
This google link doesn't tell you how you should setup a CA for Lync, what settings need to set etc.. -
Since I updated to iCloud, (which may or may not be related) Mail on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 has been unable to connect to MobileMe more than once or twice per day. Mail on my iPhone 4 and my old iMac has no problems. When there is no service a yellow warning triangle appears adjacent to the Inbox and Connection Doctor reports,"Trying to log into this MobileMe IMAP account failed. Verify that username and password are correct." Since it does fetch Mail from time to time they cannot be wrong.... can they? Should I update to 10.7 and if so what does that entail?
You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Snow Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:
http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html
The situation with iCloud and Snow Leopard is described in detail here:

Bug! Hot-deploying the same bean more than once results in a DeploymentException!
Hi all,
Anyone else having this problem? When re-deploying an EJB within a
running WL server 4.5.1 w/ sp9 more than once results in the following
DeploymentException. The first time we re-deploy it works fine, but any
re-deployments after that fail.
This is potentially fatal in that if we have to make more than one
change to a bean over time and re-deploy those changes, we have to cycle
the server, which is NOT acceptable for a production environment!
Any clues or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks!

becoz i know there's an option like that with DDDeploy. I am talking of 5.1 but the
logic should probably work in 4.5 too.
Try doing it and see what happens.

Hi all,
Anyone else having this problem? When re-deploying an EJB within a
running WL server 4.5.1 w/ sp9 more than once results in the following
DeploymentException. The first time we re-deploy it works fine, but any
re-deployments after that fail.
This is potentially fatal in that if we have to make more than one
change to a bean over time and re-deploy those changes, we have to cycle
the server, which is NOT acceptable for a production environment!
Any clues or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks!

there are a lot of option to make plsql web services .
First you can stay with jdev 10.1.3
Use the xmldb servlets
use jdev 11g tp4 to create plsql ws and upgrade to jdev 11g production
And I think in the next release of jdev it will be back , there are more options which disappeared like the adf bc sdo ws or jmx datacontrol etc.

Strange about invoking web service method declared string method(void);
Dear forum readers
Im experimenting with OpenESB and web services. Ive create a simple web service using NetBeans 6.1. The method consists of a single method, getTime, that is declared:
String getTime()
My current experiment is to invoke this method from a BPEL-process using the Invoke process object. The strange thing is that it seems like I have to provide a dummy inbound variable from the BPEL-designer even though the method doesnt take any parameters. I include a snippet from the BPEL process below which includes the section where I set the dummy GetTimeIn-variable and then invokes the WS method getTime().
<assign name="Assign2">
<copy>
<from>'DummyValue'</from>
<to variable="GetTimeIn" part="parameters"/>
</copy>
</assign>
<invoke name="Invoke1" partnerLink="PartnerLink1" operation="getTime" xmlns:tns="http://ws/" portType="tns:MyWebService" outputVariable="GetTimeOut" inputVariable="GetTimeIn"/>
If I dont initiate the dummy variable or remove it altogether, I cant successfully call the method. If I include the dummy in-parameter the call works just fine and I get back the current time as a string.
I must admit that Im still a rookie to web services, especially when calling them from a BPEL-process, so it may be a very trivial reason for this behaviour. Anyway, any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, OlaThank you both for the response. Regarding Rennays posting I have an additional question. When I create a new web service I don't have the "Document Literal" option nor a "Concrete Configuration" tab. I've created the web service using the "Web Application" project type and then adding a web service using the "Web Service..." wizard. This wizard doesn't have the configuration properties you mention, but if I add a WSDL-file to a BPEL-project the wizard has the properties you mention.
Is it possible to create a web service, programmed as an ordinary Java-class, from an existing WSDL-file? In that case it may solve the problem with the Document Literal property. Currently I dont know any other way to create such a web-service other than the through the web service wizard in a web application project. Of course, its possible to craft it from scratch but thats to much work to be practical.
Regards, Ola -
Hey guys,
I am quite new in using BPEL. My first test worked fine, but know I have an issue, which I can not solve. Invoking web services with a basic return value is no problem. I could also you a dto object including some basic variables in order to invoke the web service without having problems.
But when I have a dto object as return value, I get the following exception.
Could someone give me a hint to fix my problem...that would be great!
Thanks alot!

Hello All -
I am trying to add a user to a SharePoint site using PowerShell like below:-
New-SPUser -UserAlias MyDomain\jan20a -Web http://SPServer/sites/MySite
If I execute the above more than once, SharePoint does not throw that user already exists or something. This is not the same behavior in AD/Exchange PowerShell cmdlets.
Also, even the client object model behaves the same way.
Another interesting thing I noticed, I tried to remove a user from group in which the user was not part of it at all and still no error..!!
Looks like SharePoint does not care of invalid input and just ignores it.
Can anyone please confirm this and also the reason behind it ?It's not really invalid input, since the user exists and that is how SharePoint behaves (will behave same way in browser). Try to input a user that and misspell the name, e.g. say you didn't have a MyDomain\Jan21a, then try to use same script above,
only with invalid data. It will bark at you. Or try using a web that it cannot find, one that does not exist. You'll get what I like to call, the red badge of courage if you enter invalid data.
you can test that sharepoint will let you enter a user twice in the browser, and nothing bad comes from it. Powershell is just unable to tell that the user was not in the site, when you removed it the second time.
Hope that confirms it, if it does please mark this reply accordingly. thanks

AddOn: Prevent from loading more than once
Good Afternoon
Experts:
I appreciate you patience as I resurrect this topic since it has become an
increasing concern here. We need a way to restrict our AddOn from "being in"
Task.mgr more than once. We are working with Terminal Services. A couple ways we have found more than one instance in TM is the User just opening another session or opening another session after a "problem/Issue/Crash".
I have this code which restricts the AddOn from starting more than once here on my local machine:
Public Sub Main()
Try
Dim x As Integer = 0
Dim Ctr As Integer = 0
Dim som() As System.Diagnostics.Process
som = System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses
Dim Name As String
For x = 0 To som.Length - 1
Name = som(x).ProcessName.ToUpper
If som(x).ProcessName = "Test.Enhance" Then
Ctr += 1
End If
Next x
If Ctr > 0 Then
MsgBox("LBSI.Enhance AddOn is already started...Exiting application.", MsgBoxStyle.Critical)
Exit Try
Else
ReInitializeAddOn()
Application.Run()
End If
Catch ex As Exception
HandleException("Main", ex, True)
End Try
End Sub
Is there a better more elegant way to do this? How about for Terminal Services?
Thanks in advance for your insight,

Hello All,
We have crystal reports integrated in the java web application. Reports with parameters are executing query more than once (found in the SQL Server Profiler).
Scenario:
Report query with parameter :- select * from cieuser where id >= {?userId}.
User provides value '1' to this parameter and selects report execution.
Before executing the report, our system updates the database connection details of the rpt with other configured details.
Issues:
During updating of the database details on execution of statement "databaseController.setTableLocation(orig.getTable(i), table);" , the profiler shows:
select * from cieuser where id >= NULL
And on executon of the statement "viewer.processHttpRequest(request, response, getServletConfig()
.getServletContext(), null);" the profiler shows the following:
select * from cieuser where id >= {?userId}
select * from cieuser where id >= 1
select * from cieuser where id >= 1
When the same report is executed from the standalone crystal designer, the profiler shows one time query execution:
select * from cieuser where id >= 1
Environment:
Crystal reports designer - 11.5.10.1263
JRC - 11.5
Please advise.
Thanks,
Ratan.Hello,
SAP decided to allow the confirmation of orders with a final confirmation (status CNF) deliberately. So it is possible to confirm work that was maybe forgotten or if the flag 'final confirmation' was set mistakenly. Only the status CLSD will prevent further confirmations.
If you want forbid further confirmations of orders with status CNF you can use enhancements CONFPM* or BAdI WORKORDER_CONFIRM. However, the probably easiest way is to define a user status that is set at business transaction 'Confirm order' and, once set, forbid business transaction 'Confirm order'.

Sysprep : a component is specified more than once
Hi,
I had some free time so I started updating our standards WDS image.
It was on Windows 8.1 ( updates until july/august 2014) and I installed all available updates up to last week.
Within WDS, I specify an answer file that it should use. This file was working great with the previous image.
However if I tried to use the same answer file, I get "a component is specified more than once..."
Any idea's why this should be the case with the same Windows version only few months apart.
It was in the "specialize" part

Personally, I think the answer file should be correct, but always a good choice to verify it again, if you get any progress on this issue, please keep us updated.
Regarding to the error "This application requires version 6.3.9600.16384 of the Windows ADK." if the ADK version is right is your system, then it might be some corrupted .dll in your system for the toolkit, to confirm this, please try another answer
