Esception in servlet sessionCreated

Hi,
following is the code.....

     public void init(ServletConfig config)throws ServletException

public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException
     this.out = response.getWriter();
     HttpSession session = request.getSession(true);
public void sessionCreated(HttpSessionEvent se)
     this.out.println("session created"); // null ptr excep.......
public void sessionDestroyed(HttpSessionEvent se)
     System.out.println("session destroyed");
//this.out.println("session created"); aises exception!!!!
Please tell me where i am wrong ?

you initialize the variable in doGet() only ... what if doGet() is never called before sessionCreated() is called? Btw, the Outputstream you get in doGet() is not usefull after doGet() returned .... the page is the already returned to the user/browser so noone will see your output (or, more likely, printing to that outputstream later on will simply fail).
You should seperate the Servlet and the Listener in two different classes... They have different uses. Where did you plan to write the message you wrote to this.out?
