ESR &ID Info

Hi experts,
I have a small question. My scenario is IDOc-CSV. In ESR all the development is finshed. Iam also created CC 's also. Now i want do the reciver detemination, Interface determination, Sender agreement, reciver agreement. But i have a doubt in mapping(ESR). Is it right way to do the configurations OR after clear the mapping problem. Once i complete the tasks in ID(reciver detemination, Interface determiantion, Sender agreement, reciver agreement) part if any thing change in mapping part again anything changes could happens in ID. Give me a idea friends.

It completely depends upon what kind of change is coming in mapping.
For example:
If IDOC is changed and say extention is added to IDOC. In that case, yes you will have to change ID objects also as IDOC name will change and hence the interface name will have to be changed in ID.
If IDOC structure remains same and just field level mapping changes are there, then no change in ID objects.
If you need to put some condition in mapping or at Receiver determination level or at interface determination level, then yes again ID objects will change.
So as I said it is completely based on type of change.
So if you have current mapping sheet ready, you proceed with ID objects. In future, based on type of change, you may change the ID objects if required.

SLD setup for UDF to RFC Call in XI

Hello,
I am trying to create a UDF that has an RFC Call to the XI backend and I have it working in my development system. But for some reason I cannot create the Business Service > Communication Channel > GeneratedReceiverChannel_RFC in my Assurance system.
I'm guessing it has something to do with a missing connection in my SLD but right now I can't see what could be missing. What do I need to create in the SLD to allow XI to appear as a business service?

Firefox ESR 10.0.12 disables flash plugin - updates to the last version do not work?

Suddenly - without any actions by me - FF ESR 10.0.12 refuses to accept Adobe Flash? (System Win 7 64 Ultimate)
It started with a very annoying bar, which cost me 2 hours to deactivate, which told me to update an very old and unused Adobe Reader plugin. Then it insisted, that the Foxit PDF reader plugin was not up to date. Since I do not use it, I deactivated it too. Since I seldom use Flash, I just found out today, that youtube does not work anymore - FF insists, that my flash plugin is too old and it deactivated it.
This has cost me hours up to now and it is _exactly_ the reason why I use the ESR channel.
What I did:
Deinstalled Adobe Flash completely (using Windows). Used the normal Firefox update, which it recommends (your flash player was deactivated, please install...). No success, it simply goes into a loop, always telling me my flash player is too old.
I also installed it directly from Adobe (the Firefox version!!), in all cases it reports version 11.5.502.104. The last version from Adobe - but it seems to be too old???
I am spitting angry now - this kind of trouble is the reason I only use ESR versions from Mozilla. I do not want your chaos troupe to play around with _my_ installation. But obviously you found ways to do so.
If this is not solved (and no, I will _not_ reinstall Firefox, I will _not_ delete my profile) in a few days, Firefox is dead for me. I am already looking to Chrome and Opera. Many friends have these browsers - I am a bit conservative, and I want my browser stable and the look an feel should be stable also. I do _not_ want a new version every two weeks, which every time costs my effort and time to configure it how I want it.
The question here is: How did you manage to disable the last version of Flash, and why? Why must I now register here and invest valuable time to get my browser to work again?? If I had done something, installed or removed something, ok. But I did not. (And yes, up to now I did update Flash and other plugins, when I was prompted to do so)
Clearly _your_ management does _not_ work: If I use the solutions which FF itself recommends, it sends me in an endless loop: Install newest Flash, sorry, Flash is outdated, install newest Flash...
Is this the 'new security'? Bah. If you did this for the 'normal user' (which you obviously do not respect anymore), you failed. And you failed completely for me: If software insists to do things 'automatically', it should at least do them reliably, _or_ it should ask. But working in the background, changing important things, reporting nothing, and then failing is exactly the reason why I disable all 'automatic' activities and want to be _asked_ before some idiotic piece of c.... deconfigures itself - and stops working...
Hints to the Troubleshooting Info below:
At this time Flash player is installed, shows in the systems software list as 'Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin', Version 11.5.502.146. The rest are my normal plugins. Serveral changes to about:config were done by me in an effort to make FF usable again, without nagging 'info' bars...

Additional information - according to the wiki you pointed me to, it was correct to uninstall flash using Windows control panel. I am very sure that I already had the latest version installed from the beginning, because Flash player pointed me to an update on Windows start (as usual) several days ago.
The error clearly lies with FF, since despite an up to date Flash player it decided it wants it new - something to do with the blacklist? How can it tell, that its outdated, if it does not find it and not show it in the list of plugins?
There is something fishy here...

PI 7.1 ESR and Java Webstart very slow

Hi,
I have been using the PI ESR and IB on the snow leapord OS with Mozilla and Safari browsers. The java webstart seems to be very slow and working on the ESR objects is sometimes a pain as it takes long time to save , activate or change and sometimes I end up java heap space issues although we are running at a 2 gig heap size. Is it only me or is anyone else facing the same issue?
Is it time to go back to good old windows XP? or can this be fixed in Mac ...I love my Mac for other reasons though...:)

PI 7.1 ESR and ID not opening but of PI 7.0 opening

Hi, Iam unable to open PI 7.1 ESR and ID in my desktop but I am able to open PI 7.0 IR and ID. I have JRE and JDK 1.6 in my system. I have gone multiple options given in sdn/blogs but unable to resolve it. Please provide valuable inputs. Exact error message is:

Language time-zone missing info

This is probably a bug or at best smoe missing info in the language support.
If we set a non English locale the dates (name of day and month) are coming in the pecified language.
However the time zone list ignores the locale and returns a string only in English
for instance:
MIT, West Samoa Time
AST, Alaska Daylight Time
PST, Pacific Daylight Time
PNT, Mountain Standard Time
MST, Mountain Daylight Time
CST, Central Daylight Time
Since those strings are not translated I have sent those strings to Translation centers for translation. They asked me what are the abbreviations so they can be translated. There is nowere to find the info of what MIT stands for , AST stands, PST, MST and CST. I can try to infer it from the names but for this list I have no certitude of being correct.

SolMan 7.1 setup problem: Activate ESR

Hello experts,
I face a problem in SolMan setup activity Activate ESR (transaction ESR_ACT):
ESR: BI content data exchange setup is not successful.Extractor setup is not executed.
I have already activated Info cube 0SM_BPMRH as described in Setup Guide BP Analytics. Everything worked fine with the activation. But the problem still exists.
Can anybody tell me how to solve this problem or where I can find additional information why the activation was not successfull?

Hello,
Please access transaction RSA1 in the BI client. It will ask you to activate the content, choose activate only.
if you didn't choose a different BI client, it is the same as the one you used in solman_setup.

When get into ESR ,,error - java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

I got the error ( java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError) when getting into ESR..
for the detail , occured after clicking logon buttom.
the error occured when getting into ESR only. no problem with ID, RWB, SR, SLD, NWA.
i used JDK 1.6 with my laptop, but once got the above error,
i tried to change JDK 1.6.0_24 to 1.5.0_22, but same happened.
restore achives and generate new signature didn't help this error.
all of host on exchange proflie used FQDN.

Looking for a way to tell if installed Flash Player version is ESR or not.

We push out latest versions of Flash Player to the enterprise using a patching management suite. Every time a flash patch goes out, it rolls over (and updates) our computers that have a need to run the Flash ESR branch. Is there a registry key or specific file in the file system that indicates that the Flash Player version installed is the ESR branch and not the latest branch?

The way to identify if the version installed is ESR or not is by the major version number, which is '13' at this, whereas the current version is '14'.
The Flash Player files themselves have the version number in the file name. The files are located in \Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash and \Windows\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash (if you have 64-bit OS). On Mac, the version number is in the Flash Player.Plugin Info.plist file.
For registry entries, Flash Player creates the following entries with version number:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayerActiveX > Version
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayerPlugin > Version
If on 64-bit OS, additional entries are created in the Wow64Node for the 32-bit player version (since both 32- and 64-bit versions of Flash Player are installed on 64-bit OS).

Call me an idiot, but I can not find the changelog for Firefox 24 ESR.
Plenty for the plain Firefox 24, but that is not what I need. I need the full changelog for 24 ESR, compared to the last release of ESR.

Thanks for the info. Not happy to hear that though, it seems really odd not to have such a thing for a major release.
Unfortunately this is in line with information I received elsewhere, which basically claims that the ESR branch has only been created to appease the rapid release cycle opposition, and that Mozilla does not support the concept with heart and mind, but actually tries to keep this thing hidden as much as possible in order not to encourage it being used in favor of the regular version. :-(

The main use case I found for Inside-out approach is when I have a piece of code in some language (say Java) and we want a consumer which is in DOT NET. It is easy to take the Inside out approach so to just expose the functionality as web service.
The main use case of Outside In approach is we are starting to define a new process (no implementation or any code) and we need to understand the business. In this case we can create something like Models in ESR (Service Interface, etc). Once the business representation is completed we can generate WSDL & Proxies (skeleton of code). We can implement the logic and have the web service is ready.
From this long explanation all I can say is building new service is easier with a Outside-in approach rather an Inside approach when business symentic is known and something needs to be build from scratch.

Web fonts don't print in Firefox ESR 17.0.4

I am using Font Awesome on my website. It looks good on Firefox ESR 17.0.4, but when I try to print the page the characters look like generic Unicode symbols (the boxes with numbers and stuff in them).
Unfortunately, the place I work at is stuck on this version of Firefox so updating is not a solution for me.

Hmmm, strange. I tested in a new profile (no custom settings or extensions) and the official website previews just fine -- with respect to the custom font, at least. (Screenshot attached.)
Could you try Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)

Esquema de Cálculo - RM0002 - Info Record

Boa noite!
Gostaria de pedir uma ajuda. Estou em um projeto de implantação de SAP e no processo de testes de solicitação de cotação, encontrei um problema na momento de salvar o preço de mercado. O sistema acusa o seguinte erro: "Não foi possível determinar tipo de condição para o preço Nº mensagem 06657"
Examinando a situação, verifiquei que o processo atualiza o Registro Info com as informações de cotação, mas nesse passo, o sistema reclama que a condição WOBT não está cadastrada para o esquema de cálculo RM0002.
Verifiquei o esquema de cálculo, e confirmei que essa condição não estava cadastrada. Realizei o cadastro da condição no esquema, mas continuo encontrando o mesmo erro.
Durante as análises, verifiquei que essa condição é utilizada no esquema de determinação de Pedido de Compras, entre outras coisas e consequentemente estava cadastrado no esquema RM0000.
Por acaso alguém tem alguma idéia de como resolver esse problema? Procurei notas, posts em fóruns, porém sem sucesso.

Partner application access to portal login info

How can an SSO partner application (Java) tell whether or not a user has logged in to Portal?
I need to log activity in a public application servlet, so I'd like to log the user as PUBLIC if not logged in or as their actual userid.
I don't seem to have access to this info until the user has visited a secure part of the app.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

DIY answer ...
The cludge I used to get round this was ...
Make a PL/SQL item which displays a Login or Logout link as appropriate, based on the current userid from portal.wwctx_api.get_user.
The login link goes to a secure portal page called FORCE_LOGIN, passing a URL parameter called nextPageURL which contains the URL of the next page to show after the login is complete. You can use portal.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value( '_pageid', 'a'); to help build the current page URL if you want to retun to the current page.
The FOIRCE_LOGIN page contains a PL/SQL item which builds an IFRAME whos src is a URL to my app servlet ForceLoginServlet, passing on the nextPageURL parameter. Use portal.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value( 'nextPageURL', 'a'); to help with that.
The ForceLoginServlet is a secure servlet (set up in web.xml) so that forces a silent authentication to my app. All the servlet does is display HTML to redirect back to the URL in nextPageURL.
Horrible! But it does the job.
Anyone who know a better way of doing this, please tell me.
