ESS Overview for multiple systems

Hi Guys,
Currently we have EP 7 portal, with 3 R/3 clients at the back end, 1 client for each department, so for each ESS iview, we need to have 3 copies with  different property "Application Parameter", such as:
sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources:001&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:001
sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources:002&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:002
sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources:003&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:003
but this setting is not working for ESS Overview iview, no matter which clients we specify, it will still point to default client (Which is used for user authentication), if we click on the link on Overview, it will go to the iview of default client.
Any idea on how to specify client for overview iview?
thanks a lot with rewarding points
regards,
Guo Feng

Gauri,
I don't think that he having problems in creating R3 systems in the portal landscape. He can't access 3 different R3 system with the ESS/MSS application.
The problem in this case is, that the ESS business package is using predefined JCos like Human_Resources, etc. The usage of these JCos is coded into the source code of the application.
I believe it's not possible to use more than 1 HCM system with the ESS business package in 1 portal. Maybe this is an solution:
create for every HCM 1 portal: 3 HCM = 3 Portals
To facilitate the access to the 3 portal, create a FPN (Federated Portal Network).
1 Consumer, 3 Producer (or 1 Consumer with 1 ESS and 2 producers for the other 2 ESS / HCM)

  • Remote Keys for Multiple Systems

I am working on an SRM project where we have internal catalogs items (from ECC) and external catalog items (from Excel files) going into an MDM Catalog repository.  For both, we use a lookup table for the Supplier number to cross-ref to a supplier name.
We have a Supplier List message that runs from ECC to MDMCAT to populate this table.  In doing so, it creates a key mapping for the ECC remote system...which gets used for cross-referencing supplier names when catalog items load.
The issue...we do not have such a Supplier List from the external catalog "remote system", so when external catalog items get loaded there is no supplier number/name cross-ref happening.  I can manually create key mappings for the external remote system, but I want to automate it.
I am thinking about having our PI middleware make a copy of the ECC Supplier Lists and send them to a new port set up as the external remote system...thinking that this would generated extenal system keys...hopefully without duplicating supplier lookup records.  Before proceeding, I wanted to throw this out to see if there is a better solution.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Keith

    Hi Keith,
    some remarks:
if you send data from ECC to MDMCAT, the catalog items contain the supplier keys of the ECC system. That's why the import works automatically. If you want to reuse the ECC supplier keys, the first question to answer is: does your external system  use exactly the SAME keys as ECC? Only if this is the case, duplicating the ECC supplier message works for you. Otherwise you'd create keys for your external system that are never sent by the external system.
If the external system uses the same keys as ECC, the next question is how often do you update the supplier list in MDM? Regularly? Only once? If regularly your option with PI is a good idea. This won't duplicate supplier records as Import Manager (or MDIS) is able to identify already existing suppliers and updates the remote keys only (anyways you should check the related import map!). If it's a one time action only, you can re-open the same file multiple times for different remote systems with Import Manager. Then you wouldn't have to configure an additional connection from PI to MDM.
    Best regards

  • Using XP Pro's Remote Desktop for multiple systems behind my Linksys WRT54G

I would like to be able to use Windows XP Pro's "Remote Desktop" application to access more than one system behind my WRT54G router.
I understand that I need to use Port Forwarding on the router to do this, but how can I set it up to enable access to any of the 4 systems that are behind it?
    Thx in advance

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp
look for the entry "PortNumber", this will be a hexidecimal entry, so you will have to click decimal when you edit it, save to the new RDP connection port you want, say 3390 for machine 2, 3391 for machine 3, and so on, and reboot for it to take effect.
Then to connect to it from the RDP client (once you make the forwarding entries in your router of course), it's just whateverIP-DNSname: port in the connection window.Message Edited by Wayne613 on 02-23-200708:06 PM

  • Modify about:config and allow pop ups for multiple systems

    What I need to accomplish:
    security.mixed_content.block_active_content = False
    Allow all pop-ups from salesforce.com
I need to do this for 70 computers within my domain.
To modify about:config, I've tried editing user.js (I had to create the user.js file as it did not exist in my profile folder) using the batch file below.
    Batch File to edit user.js
    cd /D "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*.default"
    echo user_pref("security.mixed_content.block_active_content", "false");>>user.js
I've read that the permissions.sqlite file can be edited to allow the pop ups, is there a way for me to edit that from a batch file?
Are these modifications possible without having to visit each user?

You can also use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to specify new (default) values for refs.
Place a local-settings.js file in the defaults\pref folder where also the channel-prefs.js file is located to specify using mozilla.cfg.
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
These functions can be used in the mozilla.cfg file:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes
    See also:
I don't know of a way to easily modify the permissions.sqlite file to add an allow pop-up exception.<br />
You would need an SQLite manager program that accepts command line input to add such a record.<br />
The main problem would be to get the ID value to be used.
    *INSERT INTO "moz_hosts" VALUES ("<id>","www.salesforce.com","popup","1","0","0","0","0");

  • Script to Rerun Successful Advertisement on Multiple Systems

    Hi Guys,
I need to rerun a particular advertisement for a package on multiple computers. I Am able to run it on a single system via the right click tools but how do it do it for multiple systems.
Is there a script for this which could be provided ?
    Many Thanks

If you right click on the deployment in the monitoring node and select rerun deployment you will get something like the below from the right click tools by Now Micro
You can then select the group you want and hit Start.
Another option would be to set the deployment properties to Always run the program, but this would make all devices always rerun the deployment.
If you wanted to be able to select specific devices then you will probably need to script yourself something unless someone has already done it.
You could start by looking at Deployment - Rerun Deployment.ps1 that's installed by the right click tools.

  • Changing URL path or prefix for Java Systems for Reverse Proxying

I am running an Apache Reverse Proxy for multiple systems including Enterprise Portal and GRC.  Unfortunately, the two systems share the same directory structure (e.g. /webdynpro, /images, /logon, /useradmin, /VC).  The reverse proxy won't be able to differentiate URLs for the two systems.
I want to add a prefix (e.g. /grc/webdynpro) or change the URL directories (e.g. /grcwebdynpro) for Portal or GRC.  How can I do this?

Thank you for the reply, but could you explain?  It seems like this wiki is suggesting how to change the default port and start URL and how to configure reverse proxies in general.  It doesn't seem to answer the specific question that I have.
I need to add or modify the URL so that it is unique to the reverse proxy.  For example, EP and GRC both use /webdynpro.  I would like one of them to use a completely different structure (e.g. /grc/webdynpro) so that the reverse proxy can differentiate requests to different hosts.
The reason why changing the Start URL doesn't seem like the answer is because the fundamental directory structure is still the same.  The reverse proxy won't be able to differentiate the different requests because of this.
I am looking for some kind of configuration that lets me add a prefix to the entire web application server.  Is anyone aware of this configuration or know of an alternative solution?

  • How do I use the rating system for multiple raters?

My wife, her sister, and I are all rating some photos I took a couple of days ago. Each of us, of course, has different favorites.
I would like to record our different ratings in the LR3 rating system but can't see an immediately obvious way to do so. I thought of using the color labels--different color for each of us. But each photo will only take one color label. I could use the star ratings, one star for only one selection, two for two, etc. But that would not record who chose which. I need to know that.
Has anyone had the same problem? If so, is there some rather obvious solution? I would think that it's not all that unusual for several folk to participate in a shoot, using one camera; and then to need some way to record their differing judgments on the photos in LR3.
Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks in advance,
    John Kendrick

The rating system in LR3 is not really designed with that type of functionality in mind.  The "target Lightroom user" is an individual that uses LR to create a catalog of photographs which can be graded with a star rating based upon their opinion of the photograph.  The concept of seperate star ratings for multiple users doesn't really fit into that concept.  LR3, in general, is designed with a single photographer in mind... one that essentially uses the program by his/herself... so it has a bare minimum of 'group' functionality.
It may be possible to find a plug-in that will enable star ratings by multiple users, but I've never heard of one before.
If you really, really need this type of functionality (i.e. saving star ratings by multiple people), the only way to do it that I could think of would be to create multiple collections of the same shoot, each of which is filled with virtual copies of the original photos.  Each collection could hypothetically be called '08-03-2010 Bill Ratings'...'08-03-2010 Jill Ratings'... etc... etc.  Admittedly, such a workaround may very well be more trouble than its worth... that's just the only way I can think of that you might come close to achieving the functionality you're after.

  • Multiple system maintenance cycles are not shown in pop up for selection

    Hi,
In change manager, when we create a change document from a change request, we dont get a pop up for selection of maintenance cycles with multiple systems in it.
The change document is getting created by taking the only available maintenance cycle with only that system.
Is there any configuration for this?
    Regards,
    Dipti Sawarkar.

    Hi Christian,
    Thanks for your reply.
I know the pop up will come only when there is more than one maintenance cycles for that production system.
I have done configuration for Normal correction.( SDMJ) and customized it (ZDMJ).
When I try to create a CD* from CR* for a particular production system ( CCP) , it just takes up a maintenance cycle for CCP system and doesnt show up any pop for selection of maint cycles whereas I have created 5 maintenance cycles for this system CCP.
The other 4 maintenance cycles have multiple landscapes (CCP and EAP )in it whereas this one (which gets selected by default) just has CCP landscape in it.
The strange part is that when I try to create a stand alone CD ( without CR ) , it will give that pop up showing all 5 maint cycles. But this is not happening when I create a CD from a CR.
I have never done/ seen configuration for the pop up of selecting maint cycles in ChaRM.
    Looking forward to ur help,
( *CD - Change Document  and * CR - Change Request)

    Dipti Sawarkar.

  • Compliance Calibrator for multiple SAP systems

I was wondering if anyone could assist me with my query.  We are currently performing an implementation of Virsa CC for a client and have begun to configure a CC DEV system they have installed with their custom SoD rule set.  The DEV CC system (sitting on a stand alone NetWeaver box) is "connected" to four SAP systems (DEV, QA, HR DEV & HR QA).  When we are building "functions" (i.e. raise purchase orders) in CC it asks us to define a SAP system when we are entering the transaction codes.  We've been configuring the functions with SAP DEV as the system, however when we run the analysis of results we would like to get results from QA as well.  It appears that the risk analysis only works for the system that you have defined the functions in (i.e. we get results for users in DEV but not for users in QA).
    My questions are as follows:
    - Do you need to define all the systems you wish to run a risk analysis for within the function (i.e. function = Raise purchase orders. DEV ME21 & QA ME21)?
    - If so, is there an easy way to convert our functions so that they point to QA as well (we've noticed that we can't edit the SAP system once the function is saved)?
    - Is it possible to export the functions and then define the SAP system when importing them back into CC (we've noticed with the SAP delivered rule set that SAP DEV was automatically defaulted)?  This is particularly relevant as we would like to export the rules from the DEV CC system and import them to the PROD CC system without having to manually create the rule set again; and
    - Is it possible to export the rules and manually change the SAP system reference and import them back into CC (i.e. do a "replace all" DEV to QA)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Alexi

In order to perform what your are trying to do in CC 5.2, you will need to go to configuration and setup a logical system, such as SAP R/3 and define all the appropriate systems for the logical system.  Then, when modifying the functions, you will need to set the tcode (action) to the logical system defined, such as R/3 or APO, etc.
The cross-system functionality only comes into play if you want to analyze the SOD where a conflict would occur if a user had access to one function in one system (for example - purchase order processing in APO) and a conflicting function in a different system (for example - Vendor Master in R/3).
If you simply want to check who has violates a risk against multiple system - the logical system is the best way.  You can have an logical system by system type - R/3, BW, APO, SRM, etc.
To convert this over, you can export the rules and during the export you have to define the new system when exporting the file.  If that doesn't work, I'd just delete everything out, and use the upload files to reload the rules with the correct data.

  • Integrating a custom toolchain in Eclipse for multiple host systems

    Hey guys
I have a custom GCC toolchain that compiles binaries for my operating system project. I'm having problems with integrating this toolchain in Eclipse CDT to have proper preprocessing and error checking.
On Windows, the toolchain resides in the Cygwin directory "C:/cygwin/ghost", and on other hosts it resides in "/ghost".
    Preprocessor:
I've tried to configure the project to use a "Cross compiler" toolchain and set the "Command to get compiler specs" under "C/C++ General -> Preprocessor Include... -> Providers -> CDT Cross GCC Built-in Compiler Settings" to use my compiler (namely i686-ghost-g++). This results in the include paths in my attachment being determined.
Well, this is obviously correct for the compiler but does not work on Windows, because the compiler does not emit the "C:/cygwin" part of the path. Is there a way to define a prefix for these?
    Builder's environment:
I'm using plain old bash scripts to build applications; on unix-like systems they run within the normal environment, but on Windows they must be run within the Cygwin environment (so the necessary tools are properly found).
I tried setting the "C/C++ Build -> Builder Settings -> Build command" to sh build.sh to get my scripts used. This does not work with the Cross compiler toolchain setting, as they run in the Windows environment, not in the Cygwin environment. I can fix this by switching to the Cygwin toolchain configuration and setting the "C/C++ Build -> Environment -> PATH" variable properly, but this does not make sense as I also want to use the same project settings on non-Windows systems, too.
    Questions:
How is it meant to be done? My goal is to have Eclipse automatically determine the include paths & therefore correctly preprocess sources; also being able to run my build scripts within the correct environment per system.
If configuration is not suitable for this: Where can I find information on how to create a custom toolchain? With that it might be possible to implement it so that it automatically determines what environment to use on each system and how to determine include paths.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • RSIMPCURR to run for multiple R/3 systems

We have one BW system being fed by 3 different ECC systems.  Each ECC system has it's own table of currency exchanges.  One system converting to Euros, a second system converting to British Pounds and a third system converting to US Dollars.  We need BW to be updated with data from all three tables.
From what I can glean from documentation, the variant for source system for the RSIMPCURR program cannot be set in the ABAP variant screen but can only be set from the Source System tree in the BW workbench - at which point you select one and only one source.   Is there anyway to modify the process to allow BW to be updated from multiple source systems?

To create a Variant to update your currency exchange rates in BW, with the exchange rates table data from each of the source systems, do the following:
    1) Go into the Transfer Exchange Rates for the first source R3/ECC system you want to extract exchange rates from.
    2) The system name will come in defaulted and grayed out.
    3) Update the Exhange Rates selection criteria (if any) and select the Update Exchange Rates radio button.
    4) Go to the menu path Goto > Variants > Save as Variant.
    5) Enter a logical Variant Name and Description and Save
    6) Repeat Steps 1-5 for the other two source R3/ECC systems.
Once you're done with this, you will have three separate variants (one for each source R3/ECC system) that you can use in three separate ABAP Process Variants within a Process Chain to execute the RSIMPCURR ABAP program to update the exchange rate table in BW.

  • 3rd party tech systems for multiple business systems...

I think this might a very stupid question but still would like to post it..:).. In a 3parties involved scenario, can 1 technical system be assigned to multiple business systems , if all business systems refer to the same 3 party..or does each 3rp party business system needs its own technical system..
Also I need to move only 1 product and the SWCV assigned to the product to QA..I do not want to export entire SLD..By exporting this single product and importing into the SLD of QA, I hope it will not overwrite the SLD components of the QA box but add this new product as delta.

    Hi Teresa,
    >>>Also I need to move only 1 product and the SWCV assigned to the product to QA..I do not want to export entire SLD..By exporting this single product and importing into the SLD of QA, I hope it will not overwrite the SLD components of the QA box but add this new product as delta
I believe you can only do an incremental export/import
sld does not allow importing/exporting one product...
Remember to do a backup of your QA SLD
    (from the SLD - administration)
then if you make a mistake nothing will happen
    about the second question:
<i>"Business systems, which name the logical receiver independently of technical properties. For example, a business system might be a client of an SAP system.
Technical systems with which the hardware of the system is specified in more detail (server data, and so on)."</i>
this should be possible not only for SAP systems

  • Single hierarchy for multiple target systems

    Hi,
I have a version named "Account" with a hierarchy named as "Acc2013".
the hierarchy "Acc2013" is same across Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion GL, and HFM.
how can i assign multiple node types to the same hierarchy so that i just need to maintain one hierarchy (this case account hierarchy) and select the properties pertaining to each target system?
i.e. i select the Oracle GL from the drop down and give the details for the Oracle GL then i select the HFM category from the drop down and provide the HFM related properties.
the reason why i am asking is, if i dont give the node type, all the unnecessary properties are showing up for other type of hierarchies. for e.g. there is another hierarhcy named cost center there its showing the account related properties.
to summarize, how i can utilize a single hierarchy to be used for different target systems? Appreciate your help. do i need to create different version and hierarchy for different types of target systems?

I'm late to respond to this, but I always preach to customers that it is critical for DRM to act as an enterprise view. This isn't a "System A" hierarchy, or a "System B" hierarchy, but rather it's an asset that is shared by both systems, and therefore attributes for both systems are valid. Since node types provide the ability to hide properties, many interesting options present themselves, not all of which lead to a good outcome in the longer term. If a user doesn't ever want to see properties for a particular system, it would be better to just remove their access to that property category in many cases. (They may already have read only access but they object to "being bothered" with seeing those properties.)
I've seen many DRM implementations head down the other path and end up with duplicate maintenance requirements, configuration challenges, or even having to do major reengineering efforts to transition DRM from a Finance department tool into an enterprise use case feeding a data warehouse. A current customer of mine used a scheme where a checkbox on each property category would make the properties disappear if unchecked...this worked great with a handful of node types, but unfortunately the number of node types needed to support all of these property category combinations was bound by factorial math principles. Consequently the maintenance for this solution went from unweildy to unmanageable as more "non-HFM" data was added to DRM.
DRM implementations should be guided by governance principles and maintenance business rules, rather than than how things appear in DRM. It's how they appear when published that is of primary importance. I think the new features related to Data Governance will help greatly in this regard. Users that are overwhelmed by the DRM UI can easily be limited to the attributes that are relevant to their specific workflows, and only the "Power users" will see everything.

  • BW 3.5: DataSource Overview shows nothing for BW system itself!

BW 3.5: RSA1 -> Select Source Systems, then pick BW system itself in the right pane, right click and pick DataSource Overview (note: we've got many exported datasources or data marts and replicated the datasources already to the BW system itself), then a small window pops up saying that "There is no application component hierarchy in BW for source system &1.  Load application component hierarchy from the source system now?" with Yes and No button.  I click Yes, then another frame shows up at the righthand side with a folder called "BW Development system BW client 100(the client name)", expend the folder, nothing under the folder!
The DataSource Overview work for other source systems like R3 and EBP, but don't know why nothing shows up under the system itself!  We do have many data mart in the InfoSource view and we have replicated the datasources many times, still get nothing when conducting the DataSource Overview.
