Remote Keys for Multiple Systems

I am working on an SRM project where we have internal catalogs items (from ECC) and external catalog items (from Excel files) going into an MDM Catalog repository.  For both, we use a lookup table for the Supplier number to cross-ref to a supplier name.
We have a Supplier List message that runs from ECC to MDMCAT to populate this table.  In doing so, it creates a key mapping for the ECC remote system...which gets used for cross-referencing supplier names when catalog items load.
The issue...we do not have such a Supplier List from the external catalog "remote system", so when external catalog items get loaded there is no supplier number/name cross-ref happening.  I can manually create key mappings for the external remote system, but I want to automate it.
I am thinking about having our PI middleware make a copy of the ECC Supplier Lists and send them to a new port set up as the external remote system...thinking that this would generated extenal system keys...hopefully without duplicating supplier lookup records.  Before proceeding, I wanted to throw this out to see if there is a better solution.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Keith

Hi Keith,
some remarks:
if you send data from ECC to MDMCAT, the catalog items contain the supplier keys of the ECC system. That's why the import works automatically. If you want to reuse the ECC supplier keys, the first question to answer is: does your external system  use exactly the SAME keys as ECC? Only if this is the case, duplicating the ECC supplier message works for you. Otherwise you'd create keys for your external system that are never sent by the external system.
If the external system uses the same keys as ECC, the next question is how often do you update the supplier list in MDM? Regularly? Only once? If regularly your option with PI is a good idea. This won't duplicate supplier records as Import Manager (or MDIS) is able to identify already existing suppliers and updates the remote keys only (anyways you should check the related import map!). If it's a one time action only, you can re-open the same file multiple times for different remote systems with Import Manager. Then you wouldn't have to configure an additional connection from PI to MDM.
Best regards
Michael

  • Using XP Pro's Remote Desktop for multiple systems behind my Linksys WRT54G

    I would like to be able to use Windows XP Pro's "Remote Desktop" application to access more than one system behind my WRT54G router.
    I understand that I need to use Port Forwarding on the router to do this, but how can I set it up to enable access to any of the 4 systems that are behind it?
    Thx in advance

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp
    look for the entry "PortNumber", this will be a hexidecimal entry, so you will have to click decimal when you edit it, save to the new RDP connection port you want, say 3390 for machine 2, 3391 for machine 3, and so on, and reboot for it to take effect.
    Then to connect to it from the RDP client (once you make the forwarding entries in your router of course), it's just whateverIP-DNSname: port in the connection window.Message Edited by Wayne613 on 02-23-200708:06 PM

  • Remote key for lookup tables

    Hi,
    I need some advice on remote keys for lookup tables.
    We have loaded lookup data from several client system into the MDM repository. Each of the client system can have diffferences in the lookup values. What we need to do is to enable the keymappings so that the syndicator would know which value belongs to which system.
    The tricky part is. We haven't managed to send out the values based on the remote keys. We do <b></b>not<b></b> want to send the lookup tables themselves but the actually main table records. All lookup data should be checked at the point of the syndication and only the used lookup values that orginally came from one system should be send to that particular system. Otherwise they should be tag should be blank.
    Is this the right approach to handle this demand or is there a different way to take care of this? What would be the right settings in the syndicator?
    Help will be rewarded.
    Thank you very much
    best regards
    Nicolas

    Hi Andreas,
    that is correct. Let's take two examples:
    1) regions
    2) Sales Area data (qualified lookup data)
    Both tables are filled and loaded directly from the R/3s. So you would already know which value belongs to which system.
    The problem that I have is that we will not map the remote key from the main table because it will be blank for new created master data (Centralization scenario). Therefore we cannot map the remote key from the attached lookup tables, can we?
    The remote key will only work for lookup tables if the remote key of the actual master data is mapped. Since we don't have the remote key (local customer ID form R/3) in MDM and since we do not create it at the point of the syndication... how would the SAP standard scenario would look like for that?
    This is nothing extraordinary it's just a standard centralization scneario.
    Please advice.
    Thanks alot

  • Exact Steps to Generate Installation keys for other systems In SolMgr4.0

    Hi friends,
    Please provide me exact Steps to Generate Installation keys for other systems In SolMgr 4.0 SR1.
    I have steps to make this thing in solmgr 3.2 as please change as it in solmgr4.0 sr1
    txn SMSY
    Expand Landscape components -> Systems
    Right click on Systems  ->New System
    Type SAPID, & Installation No. (S44 , 0040099252) & sAVE
    Expand Newly Added system
    Right Click & Create
    Now we can use the key provided by the system.
    Please make required changes as applicable in solmgr4.0 So that I can proceed.
    Also clear vat is the difference between ECC & ERP as solmgr4.0 mention both as two systems.
    Thanks & regards

    Cheers 'N' Joyce

    Hi Jaswant,
    to generate a Solution Manager Key you can process a little bit easier.
    Call transaction SMSY, press shift+F5 (you get the "other objects" popup).
    As System enter the SID of your Solution Manager.
    ->select gen.Installation/Upgrade Key (shiftctrlF10))
    then you get a new popup. In this popup you DELETE all values, enter SID of the new system, the message server of the new system and the system number of the new system. Then press generate key.
    With this procedure you do not have to add the system to SMSY to generate the key.
    Later you should add it to SMSY, maybe you have added an SLD to SMSY then the system will be added automatically. If not you have to add it manually.
    Second question ERP <> ECC
    Good question, ECC is part (a main instance) of ERP, so it is up to you if you classify your system as an ERP or ECC.

    Something you should be aware of is the frequency of IP address change at your father's location. Providers of residential broadband services lease an IP address for a certain duration which you have no control over and is purely arbitrary. You may be familiar with these changes?
    The point is sometimes these addresses change regularly (4 hours to every few days) and sometimes they stay the same for a longer period of time such as a year or more.
    Because of the nature of this change you may find you can remote assist your father one day but not the next. The situation is easily rectified with a simple phonecall to your father. He can tell you what IP address he's using by launching his browser and clicking this link:
    http://myipaddress.com
    He gives you his new IP address and you should be able to make a successful connection again.
    Be aware IP addresses handed out by ISPs are known as routable. IP addresses handed out by Firewalls/Routers/Gateway devices such as Apple's Airport Express Base Station etc are not routable. Assuming you've not changed anything in the devices they will always be one of these three ranges: 192.168.1.x; 10.x.x.x and 172.16.16.x. You don't use any of these last three group of addresses to make the connection over the public external (internet) network but you do use them when on the same private internal network.

  • Command Key has to be released and pressed each time, holding down command key for multiple commands ignoring all after first keystroke.  Have tried this in safe mode - still broken.

    This problem has just cropped up - pretty sure it's after the 10.7.3 upgrade.
    Scenario: I'm in pages and I'm doing a search. I need to find multiple instances of my search word.
    I hold down the command key and press the 'g' key - for find again. It works.
    While still holding down the command key - I hit the 'g' key again to do another find again. But instead of executing teh find again, hitting teh 'g' key the sdecond time types "g' over last search item found, acting as if teh command key was not still pessed.
    This is happening in DreamWeaver CS5.5, the latest Pages, and the latest BBEdit. Haven't checked all apps.
    This IS NOT a problem in the finder though - where command-tabbing brings up the app list properly, and tabs through while holding down teh command key and repeatedly hitting the tab key.
    I restarted in safe mode. Still a problem.
    First I cleaned the command key, then re-seating the key. I swapped keyboards, Still a problem.
    Did a PRAM reset, which didn't fix anything.
    I can't find any other post regarding this issue. Been using the mac for over 25 years and I've never seen this one.

    This turns out to be a problem with my KVM switcher. The USB port on the switcher for the keyboard is failing - hence the intermittent reaction to the command-key presses.
    I connected the keyboard directly to my mac and the problem was resolved - sorry I didn't check that before I posted this.

  • Question on IKE preshared key for sun systems.

    Hi All
    I'm testing IPsec between a Sun system and a device(and Windows XP). The main mode negotiation failed in the third exchange when encryption is on. Responder side complains about the payload sent from the other side is malformed. I suspect the problem is related to the preshared key configuration. Sun system require a hexdecimal on preshared key and the resulting key length should be at least of what encryption algorithm require(from IP service manual:
    The encryption algorithm in this example (see Step 2) is DES, so the pre-shared key must be at least 64 bits. However, a longer key length is a good idea. For example,
    # ike.preshared on enigma, 192.168.66.1
    { localidtype IP
         localid 192.168.66.1
         remoteidtype IP
         remoteid 192.168.55.2
         # enigma and partym's shared key in hex (128 bits)
         key ac077cc699c17055848a3cf34377980a
    My question is that how should I configure the preshared key to match the one in Sun? like in windows system? I tried to use the exact same key on windows, but the authentication failed. If the problem is not from preshared key, any comments are welcome.
    Thanks a lot!

    To restore key from encoded data you have to use one of the KeySpec lasses in your case DESKeySpec. Then you can use KeyFactory (SecretKeyFactory in this case) class to regenerate key.
    SecretKeyFactory factory = SecretKeyFactory.getInstance("DES", "SunJCE");
    myDESkey = factory.generateSecret(keySpec);

  • ESS Overview for multiple systems

    Hi Guys,
    Currently we have EP 7 portal, with 3 R/3 clients at the back end, 1 client for each department, so for each ESS iview, we need to have 3 copies with  different property "Application Parameter", such as:
    sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources:001&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:001
    sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources:002&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:002
    sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources:003&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:003
    but this setting is not working for ESS Overview iview, no matter which clients we specify, it will still point to default client (Which is used for user authentication), if we click on the link on Overview, it will go to the iview of default client.
    Any idea on how to specify client for overview iview?
    thanks a lot with rewarding points
    regards,
    Guo Feng

    Gauri,
    I don't think that he having problems in creating R3 systems in the portal landscape. He can't access 3 different R3 system with the ESS/MSS application.
    The problem in this case is, that the ESS business package is using predefined JCos like Human_Resources, etc. The usage of these JCos is coded into the source code of the application.
    I believe it's not possible to use more than 1 HCM system with the ESS business package in 1 portal. Maybe this is an solution:
    create for every HCM 1 portal: 3 HCM = 3 Portals
    To facilitate the access to the 3 portal, create a FPN (Federated Portal Network).
    1 Consumer, 3 Producer (or 1 Consumer with 1 ESS and 2 producers for the other 2 ESS / HCM)

  • Modify about:config and allow pop ups for multiple systems

    What I need to accomplish:
    security.mixed_content.block_active_content = False
    Allow all pop-ups from salesforce.com
    I need to do this for 70 computers within my domain.
    To modify about:config, I've tried editing user.js (I had to create the user.js file as it did not exist in my profile folder) using the batch file below.
    Batch File to edit user.js
    cd /D "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*.default"
    echo user_pref("security.mixed_content.block_active_content", "false");>>user.js
    I've read that the permissions.sqlite file can be edited to allow the pop ups, is there a way for me to edit that from a batch file?
    Are these modifications possible without having to visit each user?

    You can also use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to specify new (default) values for refs.
    *http://mike.kaply.com/2012/03/16/customizing-firefox-autoconfig-files/
    Place a local-settings.js file in the defaults\pref folder where also the channel-prefs.js file is located to specify using mozilla.cfg.
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    These functions can be used in the mozilla.cfg file:
    defaultPref(); // set new default value
    pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
    lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes
    See also:
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
    I don't know of a way to easily modify the permissions.sqlite file to add an allow pop-up exception.<br />
    You would need an SQLite manager program that accepts command line input to add such a record.<br />
    The main problem would be to get the ID value to be used.
    *INSERT INTO "moz_hosts" VALUES ("<id>","www.salesforce.com","popup","1","0","0","0","0");

  • Maintaining Remote key in look up tables for Production data

    Hi,
    me
    SEE in DEV and QA to maintain the Remote key for Look up tables.First i have exported those look up table values and again imported with mapping Remote keys (clone the field and map it to Remote key.). By this i have maintained the Remote keys to all look up tables. Now for Production what should i do. Is it the same process extract all records from production into our desktop and then again import it using IM, clone the field and map it to Remote key.
    1. Is this the right process?
    2. What happens if there are huge data present in production how to proceed furthr then?
    Required your suggestion please.
    Thanks,
    Pradeep

    HI Pradeep,
    I dont see any problem with this method if I am getting it right
    You are updating remote keys by reimporting lookup data, and this way you have multiple remote keys for data in lookup table,right?
    This will help you to automap entries in Import process for different Remote systems.
    I did not get your 2nd point?
    Thanks,

  • Remote System and Remote Key Mapping at a glance

    Hi,
    I want to discuss the concept of Remote System and Remote Key Mapping.
    Remote System is a logical system which is defined in MDM Console for a MDM Repository.
    We can define key mapping enabled at each table level.
    The key mapping is used to distinguish records at Data Manager after running the Data Import.
    Now 1 record can have 1 remote system with two different keys but two different records cannot have same remote system with same remote key. So, Remote key is an unique identifier for record for any remote system for each individual records.
    Now whenever we import data from a Remote System, the remote system and remote key are mapped for each individual records. Usually all records have different remote keys.
    Now, when syndicating back the record with default remote key is updated in the remote system that is sent by xml file format.
    If same record is updated two times from a same remote system, the remote key will be different and the record which is latest contains highest remote key.
    Now, I have to look at Data Syndication and Remote key.
    I have not done Data Syndication but my concept tell if there is duplicate record with same remote system but different remote keys both will be syndicated back. But if same record have two remote keys for same remote system then only the default remote key is syndicated back.
    Regards
    Kaushik Banerjee

    You are right Kaushik,
    I have not done Data Syndication but my concept tell if there is duplicate record with same remote system but different remote keys both will be syndicated back.
    Yes, but if they are duplicate, they needs to be merged.
    But if same record have two remote keys for same remote system then only the default remote key is syndicated back.
    This is after merging. So whichever remote key has tick mark in key mapping option(default) , it will be syndicated back.
    Pls refer to these links for better understanding.

  • MDM 7.1 remote key generation on different Remote Systems

    I am checking onthe remote key gerneration.
    1. When I import data from a remotesystem lets say A AND the data have e.g.. a vendor number in Vendors from BusinessContent
        the remote keys are generated for this remote system.
    2. Whe I want to syndicate these date to another remote system e.g. SAP ERP, the objectid i.e. LIFNR is NOT shown in
       the syndicators Destination Preview.
       independent of the map properties setting "Remote Key Override"
    3. When I enter the key by hand inthe data manager the data are shown in the syndicator but only it "Remote key overrifde"is
       set to the target system.
    Question:
    It looks like that the remote keys for a different remotesystem other than the one I omported from are NOT set.
    How to do a automatical assignment to the keys of this different Remote System

    I checked:
    SAP ERP Remote System range 100000 999999
    A range 100000 199999
    Key Mappings defined for SAP ERP Remote System (checked in Data Manager)
    key Mappings not defined for A (checked in Data Manager)
    Everything I do I do in the Syndicator
    With mapping property "Remote Key Override" marekd as "Reset" no LIFNR is written to SAP ERP
    With this property set to SAP ERP the LIFNR is sent.
    When I use System A it doesn't matter which settings I have there is no VendorNumber sent out.
    Looks like I miss the settings for a property?

  • Remote Key values in one file

    Hi,
    Is there anyway to get the multiple remote key values(different remote systems) for a single record in a single XML file?
    Regards
    Nisha

    Hi Nisha,
    you can do this with Syndicator. Asuming that you have defined a XSD for your desired XML format, you can create a syndication map that uses the remote keys for all remote systems. The tab "Map Properties" has a property named "Remote Key Override". This property allows you to select the remote systems that you want to include in syndication. If you add all existing remote systems and set the property flag "Suppress records without key", syndicator creates an XML containing all remote keys.
    A suitable XML format could be something like
    <Root>
      <Record>
        <MdmId />
        <RemoteSystemCode />
        <RemoteKey />
      </Record>
    </Root>
    Record is the repeatable node.
    Use MdmId to identify the record in the repository (this is optional of course).
    Use RemoteSystemCode and RemoteKey to syndicate the key mapping.
    Best regards
    Michael

  • Number Generation & Remote Key Updation

    Hi Experts,
    We have a scenario of integrating MDM with SAP and 3 Non SAP systems
    All the systems have the same number range for the account types
    Whenever there is a request , a copy should always go to SAP plus the requested system
    Doubt:
    The request comes to the import server and the requirement is to automate it
    Now the question is how to generate the number in main table and it should update the key mapping of 2 remote systems automatically
    Kindly help
    Regards,
    Antony

    Hi Antony,
    As you have 4 remote systems, one SAP and 3 non-sap systems, you need to create 4 remote systems in MDM Console ( as shown in page 3/10, 1.2 Create/modify the remote system u201CSAP R/3u201D and specify type as u201Cinbound/Outboundu201D and key generation as u201CQualified Rangeu201D in below article).
    While syndicating you have to select remote system one by one as it is shown here for SAP R/3 (on page 5/10, 2.5 Specify the type as u201CFlatu201D and remote system same as created in step 1.2 : u201CSAP R/3u201D ), you need to do it for all the 4 remote systems one by one. you need to be carefully map remote key for all of these remote systems as shown in section, 4.2 The u201CSAP Material Numberu201D field, which is to be generated during syndication, is to be mapped to the remote key field u201CValueu201D.
    For complete understanding, Please refer the below Article.
