ESSO - Putty autologin to Unix server

Note 412967.1 on Metalink shows how to use ESSO to remember userid/password settings.
I've successfully done everything except item 11.
Item 11 says:
"Now the new defined application can be exported to the Agent. At this point
the application is ready to use"
How can I do that? What means "export to the agent"?

Once you have defined the application in the administrative console (the MMC console) you need to export this definition to user PCs running ESSO LM.
This can be done through syncronization repositories (LDAP, DB, Network share...) or sending configuration files to the clients with your distribution tools.
You should read the Administration guide of ESSO LM:

    but after that suddenly the power failure occurred and my local machine from which i was accessing the unix server, got shutdown..
    after the restart, when I am again accessing the putty and connected to the oracle11g server and from sysdba login, given the "STARTUP OPEN" command, then it is showing the error...

  • Odbc.ini entry on local unix server to connect to a T10 on remote server

    I am trying to setup an entry in the ODBC.INI file on local unix server that has T10 client installed. I want to connect to a T10 datastore on a different server using this ODBC entry (client/server connection for a Informatica tool)
    Could some one tell me how this ODBC.INI entry should look like on my local server.

    Say your remote dsn is called 'mydsn' and your remote server called 'TTserver' then the entry on the client machine would be:
    [mydsn_cs]
    TTC_SERVER_DSN=mydsn
    TTC_SERVER=myserver
    You would then also need an entry in the sys.ttconnect.ini file as follows:
    [myserver]
    Network_Address=TTserver
    TCP_PORT=<port of server daemon on server>
    The port of the server daemon is typicaly 2 more than the port of the main daemon - you can check this by typing 'ttStatus' and looking for the line starting with 'TimesTen server pid'.
    Then test your connection with 'ttIsqlCS mydsn_cs'.
    *Note: the dsn entry for 'mydsn' on the server needs to be in the sys.odbc.ini file. It can not be in a private .odbc.ini file.

  • To read flat file from a unix server

    We need to read a flat file from a Unix server, where our Database is located.
    The location gets created correctly.
    But while we are trying to import files from the location in Design Center , we get an error that "directory does not exists", although the directory has all the permissions.
    Can someone please suggest how should we create the location so as it can read the files.
    Please Reply ASAP......

    We have started Design Center on a local machine(Windows Machine) with uaer as repository owner of the server,
    In the design center we can not sample the file till we import it,
    can you please tell how to sampe the file without importing it.
    Also a location pointing to server location gets easily created on the design center and the file module points to that location only, but when we try to import the file through that location, it says directory does not exists, although oracle user has all the read write permissions on the directory......

    Hi
    I am working on a JBOSS application (jdk 1.6)
    I am getting the following exception during a file upload operation in the unix server
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: D:\\Test.xls (No such file or directory)
    The same operation works in my local server (ie windows JBOSS application)
    Basically it is not able to form the file handle. It fails exactly here
    file = new File("D:\\Test.xls");
    Can someone help
    Thanks

    does D:\\Test.xls look like a valid *nix file name to you?

  • Is there a way to view, access and process files on a unix server from APEX

    Hello all,
    We are looking at retrieving (text)documents that are uploaded to a Unix server. The server is seperate from the server that hosts APEX. Would anyone know how to do this or point me to some examples?
    Thanks

    If you  followed the instructions in the manual you would have configured Contacts to sync to an app on your computer such as Outlook or Address Book. Then all you would have to do is set the new phone to sync with the same app on the computer. If you didn't do this you are probably out of luck, although there are some 3rd party apps that can extract data from the backup if it is not encrypted.

  • XML file in Unix Server

    Hi Guys,
    I have a requirement to use an XML File as a data source, and the XML is made available in the Unix server where the agent is running. In ODI on my Windows machine, testing the connection of the XML “Data Server”, I get a successful test connection, and a DTD is created on the working directory (whenever it is missing). This means that, I do have access to write files in the working directory of Unix server.
    However, the problem is encountered when I reverse engineer the XML to retrieve the structure of the file (located in Unix server) and make it in a datastore. It seems that during the “Reverse Engineer” process, ODI is using the local agent rather than J2EE agent (Unix server) that I have, thus it can’t “see” file, thus the error message: "ODI-40844: Could not generate the DTD because the file could not be created. Verify that you have write permission in the directory."
    Unfortunately, I am not able to customize the Reverse Engineering process to use J2EE agent as there is no out of the box ODI Reverse Knowledge Modules for XMLs. Creating the structure (Datastore) of the XML manually in ODI under XML Technology does not solve the problem either, because ODI still sees the Datastore as a FILE Technology and not an XML Technology (Error: ODI-40426: Url must start with jdbc:snps:dbfile).
    Please advise on how to reverse engineer a remote xml file. TIA.

    Hi,
    What I have done in the past, and seems to work, is execute an Interface or Procedure in simulate mode, choosing the agent that you would like to use in reverse engineering the XML. Then, attempt to reverse engineer the file again. Not sure if this will work, but it has for me at times. You might also try this and restarting ODI to clear out anything 'cached' in the JVM.
    It seems ODI is caching the agent that you are using - but I'm not sure how to properly change it.

  • Creating an XML file with CFFILE on UNIX server

    I've run into a problem with creating an XML file on a UNIX
    server. I don't have access to the server and I'm trying to create
    an XML file so an outside agency can read it through the site URL.
    On a Windows machine I use GetDirectoryFromPath and
    ExpandPath to return the drive/path info, then I create the file
    with this and the query result. On the Unix web server I am only
    being returned a relative path, because of this I can't write the
    XML file to the web server. Any idea how to get around this?

    Knowing as little as I do about Unix I thought you still needed
    a drive "letter" to write the XML file to. I've been told I can get
    to the root but that it's root is "/bottomFolderName" (I was
    expecting R:\webRootPath\yourFolder\etc\XMLFileWrittenHere).
    No, that is Windows thinking. You were told right. In Linux,
    a path usually begins with the forward slash /.
    I had doubts about your code itself. Did you run your version
    of my example on Windows? If it works, then you will only have to
    replace the Windows path with something like the following. The
    rest of the code remains the same.

  • How to write a file in unix server through oracle plsql code

    Hi All,
    My requirement is to create and write a file (any file for eg txt file) in unix box with in a specified directory through oracle plsql code.
    Oracle sits in windows server.
    using utl_file package we can create directory where oracle resides and write it there in oracle server in our case windows..
    But here we need to create,write a file but in unix server which is different server than where the oracle server resides..
    we are using Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production
    Can any one one please help me out in this issue...
    Thanks in Advance.

    Mr Prakash,
    Why are you asking this question multiple times in every forum you can spell?
    Valid responses have been presented to you already two times.
    Can you explain why you can't follow them up, but continue to abuse this forum by repeating doc questions?

  • How can I connect to a UNIX server to execute a command?

    How can I connect to a UNIX server and execute a command using PowerShell? My shell script is sitting on one server, while the UNIX box is on another.
    also, I don't like the idea of hardcoding a username/password within the script file in order to do so.
    -Nothing to see. Move along.

    You will need a library to handle SSH connections.
    I'm using SSH.NET, you can find info on it here : http://www.powershelladmin.com/wiki/SSH_from_PowerShell_using_the_SSH.NET_library
    It has a bit of a learning curve but the web site has some fairly good tutorials.

  • Can't import photos from camera to UNIX server in Mavericks

    We have a mixed network in our office with a Windows 2008 server and a UNIX server. Before Mavericks, I was able to connect a camera or my iPhone to my MacBook Pro and download jpg files to either server. Since the upgrade to Mavericks, the files are transferred ok to the Windows server, but end up as 0k files on the UNIX box. Using one of the older computers running Snow Leopard, the photos download just fine.
    If I use Image Capture to transfer direct from the camera to the UNIX box, I get no error mesage, but 0k files.
    If I download to the Mac and then copy/paste to the UNIX box, I get the following error message, and no file transfer at all.
    The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “P1050238.JPG” can’t be read or written.
    (Error code -36)
    Anybody any idea what is happening, and how to solve this issue?

    That's the latest version.
    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
              SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
    from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
    The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
    Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.

  • File transfer from UNIX server to Windows server path

    Hello Experts, (Gud Even Gud Aft & Gud Mor)
    Is there a way to transfer file from UNIX server(Oracle database), to Windows server? All I know if Windows path. I am able to read the file as it is on server, however it does not recognize Windows directory at all.
    If you can share some documents around this to study, I will be grateful.

NFS on the Unix server sharing the directory containing the file. FTP server on Unix allowing the file to be read and copied. OpenSSH on the Unix allowing the file to be read and copied via scp (secure copy).
    But seeing as this is an Oracle database forum (not an operating system forum), and the subject matter is the database server languages SQL and PL/SQL, here is a PL/SQL solution.
    Create a table using the BFILE data type for referencing the files on the Unix o/s. Provide a web enabled procedure for downloading the files via HTTP using a web browser. This procedure will look something as follows:
    --// URL example: http://my-server.my-domain.com/MyDAD/MySchemaName.StreamFile?fileID=1234
    create or replace procedure StreamFile( fileID number ) AUTHID DEFINER is
            mimeType        varchar2(48);
            fileName        varchar2(400);
            lobContent      BLOB;
    begin
            --// read the LOB from a table (this example uses the
            --// Apex file uploads table - change it to your own files table)
            select
                    f.filename,
                    f.mime_type,
                    f.blob_content
                            into
                    fileName,
                    mimeType,
                    lobContent
            from    FLOWS_FILES.WWV_FLOW_FILE_OBJECTS$ f
            where   f.id = fileID;
            --// format a basic HTTP header that describes the file stream send
            OWA_UTIL.mime_header( mimeType, FALSE );        -- e.g. text/csv text/plain text/html image/gif
            HTP.p( 'Content-Disposition: attachment; filename='||fileName );
            HTP.p( 'Content-Length: ' || DBMS_LOB.GetLength(lobContent) );
            OWA_UTIL.http_header_close;
            --// now write the BLOB as a mime stream using the Web Procedural Gateway's
            --// doc load API
            WPG_DOCLOAD.download_file( lobContent );
    exception when OTHERS then
            --// Decide what HTML to generate (if at all) if there is a failure
            --// (usually not a good idea to show database errors to the
            --// web browser client as that can provide technical details
            --// that could be useful for exploiting the database)
            HTP.prn( 'StreamFile() failed with '||SQLERRM(SQLCODE) );
    end;
    / On Windows, IE can be used interactively to copy the file across. For automation (via PowerShell or console jobs), use a command like tool like wget* to download the file.
    If you do not want to use SQL or PL/SQL as the file copy mechanism, then please close this thread (mark as answered) and take your question to an appropriate forum.

    Can you try to escape space with %20 ? For e.g. if file path is file:///b2b file/OrderBill.pdf then provide it as file:///b2b%20file/OrderBill.pdf
