Estrange suffix generating database objects

I have designed a table called PNT since the Business Components Diagram.
This entity object has some constraints with names like 'PNT_FK_WF_ID'.
When I try to 'Generate -> Database objects for diagram' it works ok but the database name for the constraints includes an estrange suffix '_10'.
If I recreate the constraint in the diagram and I try to generate the data objects again all woks fine. ¿?
¿Any idea?
Thanks
Carlos

  • JDev 10g: Problem when generating database objects from UML diagram

    Hi,
    I have noticed following problem.
    I made some business components through UML diagrammer in 9.0.3. From the diagram I generated database objects. It worked fine.
    When I doing the same thing in 10g, the generation fails on several tables with the message that the "identifier is too long".
    Looking at the SQL produced in one of the failing tables. In 9.0.3 following is produced:
    create table sfs_document_def (
    id number constraint document_definition_id_check not null,
    caption varchar2(100) constraint document_definition_caption_ch not null,
    index1 number,
    owner_type number constraint document_definition_owner_type not null
    alter table sfs_document_def add (constraint documentdefinition_primary_key primary key (id));
    And in 10g following is produced:
    create table sfs_document_def (
    id number,
    caption varchar2(100) constraint sfs_document_def_caption_check not null,
    index1 number,
    owner_type number constraint sfs_document_def_owner_type_ch not null
    alter table sfs_document_def add ( constraint documentdefinition_primary_key primary key (id));
    alter table sfs_document_def add ( constraint document_definition_id_check check ("id" is not null));
    alter table sfs_document_def add ( constraint sfs_document_def_caption_check_10 check ("caption" is not null));
    alter table sfs_document_def add ( constraint sfs_document_def_owner_type_ch_10 check ("owner_type" is not null));
    It seems that column that are set not to be null in 10 g first get a constraint creating the table and then when altering the table. Furthermore, notice that the name of the second constraint is longer than 30 chars, which is reason to the error when creating the tables.

  • Database schema SCM does not contain the associated database objects

    I am getting the following error when i am trying to migrate the form to apex using application migration.
    "*Database schema SCM does not contain the associated database objects for the project, aafs.*
    *Ensure the database schema associated with the project contains the database objects associated with the uploaded Forms Module .XML file(s).* ".
    Actully i am having one schema which i named as SCM, and i have defined one table TT.
    I created one form test.fmb in which i used TT table.its compiled successfully.
    Then i generated the xml file using frmf2xml from fmb file. After that, I created the project in appication migration wizard in SCM schema.
    Project creattion is working fine.but when i m trying to create application,it is showing me above error.
    can any one help in solving this problem.

    Hi Hilary,
    Thanks for your response/feedback.
    1. The schema associated with the project does not contain the necessary objects Can you please verify that the schema associated with your Forms conversion project does in fact contain the objects associated with the uploaded files. Could you also verify that the object names referenced in the error message do not exist within the schema associated with your workspace. Ensure that the schema associated with the project contains the necessary database objects before proceeding to the generation phase of the conversion process.
    Ans:
    Yes it does contain the objects (See results from SQL query Commands below):
    SELECT MWRA_CONTRACT_NO, OLD_CONTRACT_NO FROM PROJECTS@CONTRACT_LX19.MWRA.NET
    ORDER BY MWRA_CONTRACT_NO

    2. The block being converted contains buttons, which may have been incorrectly identified as database columns, and included in the original or enhanced query associated with your block This is a known issue ,bug 9827853, and a fix will be available in our upcoming 4.0.1 patch release. Some possible solutions to this issue are:
    -> delete the buttons before generating the XML
    -> delete the button tags from the XML
    -> add "DatabaseItem=No" for the button in the XML file before importing it in Apex.The button is excluded when creating the Application.
    Ans
    yes it does contain push buttons to transfer to another forms and these are defined as Non data base items. Parial XML code provided below:

  • Unable to backup oracle 8i database objects

    is this the cause ?
    previously , my client was still on 8i and it could actually backup both the 8i & 9i database objects
    pls advise
    rgds

    First off, the export and import utilities should be considered useful supplements to a proper physical backup but should not be used as the primary backup method for a production database.
    Second, Oracle pretty much requires that you use the version of the export utility that matches the lowest database version you're working with. You could generate the export files on the machine where the database runs, which guarantees that versions will match up, and move them elsewhere. Or you can have multiple versions of the Oracle client in different Oracle Homes on the same machine.

  • EventListener function specific to generated display object container

    This has to be simple, if only I knew how. I'm an AS3 newbie,
    and am having difficulty setting up multiple specific
    EventListeners within a code generated display object container.
    I am generating a 'page' (Sprite) with a heap of 'cards'
    (Sprites) on it. Each of those cards, in turn, contains a selection
    of text boxes and other objects generated from database output
    using a 'for' loop.
    My hope is to attach an EventListener to each 'card' so that
    a MouseEvent will let me manipulate the data that lead to the
    content of that actual card (the i-th iteration of my for loop).
    I've been playing with everything I can think of (limited
    repertoire of thoughts though) and the best I've managed is for my
    EventListener to access the final set of data, whichever 'card' I
    click on.
    I've summarised and attached my code for the function, and
    would appreciate any advice (however basic) on how to get back to
    the i-set of data from the EventListener attached to the i-th card.
    I can handle the PHP and MySQL side of things but am fumbling my
    way into the OOP of AS3.
    Cheers
    Dougal

    Another way would be to extend Sprite and add an id value.
    Something like:
    package{
    import flash.display.Sprite;
    public class MySprite extends Sprite {
    private var _id:int;
    public function MySprite(id:int){ _id = id; }
    public function get id():int { return _id; }
    And then in your code you'd just make instance of MySprite,
    passing it i:
    // build the cards and text boxes and add them to the
    reviewPage
    for (var i:int = 1; i < (cardsRequired+1); i++) {
    // setup the locations for all the objects
    var displayCard:Sprite = new MySprite(i);
    You can then get i in the event listener function by using
    the id getter:
    function accessThisData(e:MouseEvent):void{
    trace(e.target.parent.id);

  • Creating OO database objects by using class diagrams in JDeveloper

    I am new to use JDeveloper. I create UML class diagrams (using Entity Object) in JDeveloper, which has inheritances and associations, and then choose Create Database Objects... try to create oo database, but it only create some tables in the database, not any object types ... .
    What do I missed? Or I have to create those oo database objects manually?
    Thanks.

    Tony,
    You can use database object types with BC4J, but only to implement BC4J domains (these can map to object types).
    For performance reasons, it is less practical to generate a table of object types for a complete EO. Most users view the BC4J layer as the 'pure' OO model, and map to a relational datamodel for optimal performance.
    Below some steps to create a DB object type for a domain:
    You can create Oracle Object Types in the database by creating a business component domain and then forward generating the database object. Forward generation of object tables from entity objects is not supported. To forward generate an Oracle Object Type from a new domain: In the System Navigator, right click on your business component package and choose Create Domain. When the Domain Wizard opens, review the information on the Welcome page and click Next. Enter a Name and Package for the domain or accept the defaults. Select the checkbox for Domain for an Oracle Object Type. Do not select any items on the Available Types list, as you are creating a new one. Enter the name of your new type in the Selected Type field. Click Next. On the Settings page, click New. Provide a name in the New Domain Attribute box. Select the appropriate Java type a[i]Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

    Hi Anuj,
    Sorry for the reply delay. I didn't get a notification of reply on the post.
    I am still able to get the error message dialog, along with the failure for the generation to terminate. (reproduced today 4/22/06 and others seem to be seeing it as well).
    I can't identify anything specific in the steps.
    Basically...
    created a new application with ejb, adf, toplink
    choose new project
    choose toplink generate java objects
    choose an existing validated database connection
    select objects (all 4 tables in my little schema)
    click through (...next...next...) to finish
    locks up and dialog appears
    I made a video of the steps, including verifying the database connection. If you want to see it, I'll email it to you.
    here it is today (I've applied all updates available up to today):

  • Lookup Process for c.s.j.s.persistence.generator.database.DBNAME.properties

    Hello all,
    I am attempting to use the opensource PostgreSQL database with CMP entity beans. I am using the JDBC driver from http://jdbc.postgresql.org/ and that works without any problems. When I try and deploy a CMP bean, I get an error saying that the application server could not find com.sun.jdo.spi.persistence.generator.database.POSTGRESQL.properties.
    How does the application server decide that it should attempt to access POSTGRESQL.properties? Does it extract this information from the JDBC driver? Also, is there documentation specifying what should go in this file? In the mean time, I have created a POSTGRESQL.properties based off of the other *.properties files and some guesswork and placed it in the classpath of the AS. It seems to be working for now; I would, however, like to know exactly what is supposed to go in this file.
    Thanks,

    Thank you for your reply. I am aware that PostgreSQL is not supported, I am just wondering where the application server looks up the database name when it is not specified. Anyhow, so far my custom PostgreSQL.properties has been working perfectly and allows features which SQL92 does not including the use of PostgreSQL binary objects and longer table and field names.

  • Export database objects in Version 3.0

    I'm fairly new to APEX and I need to export some database objects along with my application. I currently have an application on Oracle's site and I need it (along with database tables and sequences) exported to a server that we have onsite. While I can see how to export the application, I'm having trouble understanding how to export my database tables (both structure and data) and sequences. Can somebody point me in the right direction?
    Thanks,

    Brian,
    You can navigate to Home>Utilities>Data Load/Unload>Unload to dump (unload) tables to files in text or xml format. You can go to Home>Utilities>Generate DDL to generate DDL for database objects in your schema.

  • What is maximum  length of oracle database objects name

    Hi all,
    Can anyone tell me what is maximum length of oracle database objects name .
    I guess it is 30 ,correct me if i am wrong thank you.
    regards,
    P Prakash

    Some objects (like synonyms or java classes) can have longer names than 30 chars:
    SQL> create or replace synonym empempempempempempempempempempempempemp for emp
    Synonym created.though internally oracle will generate short names for such objects:
    SQL> select synonym_name from user_synonyms where synonym_name like '%EMPEMPEM%'
    SYNONYM_NAME
    /969ea190_EMPEMPEMPEMPEMPEMPEM
    1 row selected.and not always will the long name be actually usable:
    SQL> select * from empempempempempempempempempempempempemp
    Error at line 1
    ORA-00972: identifier is too long

  • Validation of database object names

    Hello. I need a function that can check whether a given string is a valid database object name. For example:
    IsValid('col1') -> Yes
    IsValid('col 1') -> No
    IsValid('1col') -> No
    Is there any build in the Oracle or does anyone have such an UDF?
    Thank is advance.

    You can use the wildly inappropriately named comma_to_table procedure. It checks the name and generates an exception if it is not valid.
    SQL> var s varchar2(30)
    SQL> exec :s := 'col1'
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

      6    dbms_output.put_line ('Valid:   ' || :s);
      7  exception
      8    when others then
      9      dbms_output.put_line ('Invalid: ' || :s);
    10  end;
    11  /

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> exec :s := '1col'
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> /
    Invalid: 1col
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> exec :s := 'test'
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> /

  • Move Data from Converted Database Objects Successfully Finish ?

    I am using SQL Developer 3.2.20.09 try to migrate KSMMS database from SQL Server 2008 to Oracle 11g R2. After the migration process is done, the Captured Database Objects model, and Converted Database Objects model have been created in the Migration Projects Navigator panel on the left side, and the corresponding sql scripts has been generated in the project output directory. I run the sql scripts, it created all the tables, views, index and stored procedures in the oracle database, everything seems working perfectly. However when I try to Move Data (by right clicking Converted Database Objects) and try to move all the data from SQL Server to Oracle database, the Data moving process run less then 1 minute, and show me the result as Data Move successfully. I have about 1 GB data in the SQL Server database, it seems nothing has been moved into Oracle DB. Here are the detail structures of MS SQL Server Database which I am trying to migrate to Oracle:
    The SQL Server Database name is KSMMS, under that database there are 9 users (azteca, cwweb, dbo, guest, plladmin, pw, pwadmin, tbills, wsdadmin). All my application objects (tables, views, indexes, procedures) are under azteca user, during the migration process, Converted Database Objects creates user azteca_KSMMS and dob_KSMMS, all my application objects have been created under azteca_KSMMS user schema. The generated .sql scripts actually can create all the objects under azteca_KSMMS schema, however when I try to Move Data, nothing has been moved into Oracle database. I opened an SR#3-6708733861 last Friday, it seems Oracle Support can't find what cause the problem during the Data Move process. Any help regarding my questions will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
    Kevin

    I changed Data Move Mode to Online and run the Data Move again. Same Results: Migration action have completed successfully. However no records have been moved into Oracle tables.
    I am running SQL Developer under Windows 8 Operation system. There is no Oracle client software available for Windows 8, does that cause any problems?

  • Tool to report on database objects used in JDeveloper

    Folks,
    Does anyone know of a simple tool or plugin that can be used in JDeveloper to spit out what database objects are in use within a JDeveloper business component project?
    For example, if I'm using emp, dept etc from the scott database schema as business objects, is there a tool that can be used to analyse the JDev BC project and generate something like a pdf that lists these tables?
    I know there are more enterprise options available but I just need a quick and simple tool that will analyse my business components project and tell me the database tables that are in use in that project.
    Thanks in advance,
    Phil.

    AFAIK there isn't such a diagram or tool available. The framework doesn't store this information in n a central repository but in multiple meta data files (xml files). You can searchthrough them to find the info you like to get. Problem might be that some of the business componentes e.g. VO are not build one DB object alone but on multiple of them (union, joins...). To get the DB objects from such a VO you have to analyse the query.
