  • Duplicate start process

    We have a problem wherein our process chains are getitng  triggered twice.
    The chains are scheduled by event triggering and events are triggered thru dummy jobs.
    WHen I  rescheduling I get this warning message.
    Several start processes with the same start condition as
    START_ZZ have been found.
    Should all these jobs be removed from new scheduling?
    Is it possible to find what are the start processes with same condition?
    The start condition is triggered by event in process chain.

    Dear Ashish
    Thanks for your help. I learned a new thing (table)
    But still it didnt solve my problem...
    I checked for the chains using the start process. But it shows only one chain..
    Several start processes with the same start condition as
    START_ZZ have been found.
    This might mean the event used t o trigger the start process is used to trigger other start process also.
    Is there anyway I can check the  processes or jobs triggered by an event??

  • How to create schedule job and event trigger in XI to start a ABAP program?

    Dear All:
    Here are what i need to do:
    1.To run a ABAP program to start an XI scenario per hour.
    2.To run a ABAP program to start an XI scenario per day at 6 PM.
    3.To run a ABAP program used event trigger to make sure that XI scenario has finished the process and after that wait for 10 min later and run again.
    only i know is used sm36 & sm37 to set up a schedule job.
    but what i don't know is how to do it step by step.
    especially point 3.
    are there any step by step example can show me how?
    it better be simple and details...
    thanks you all
    Regards
    Jack Lee

    Hi,
    If you want to trigger the event manually from within SAP, use transaction
    SM64
    in SAP this is done by scheduling a job
    once a new customer is entered
    your scheduled report sends customer master data
    you can schedule your report (TCODE - BD12 I think) to one day or every 5 minutes... it depend on your needs and the system performence

  • Synchronous start event for a BPM process??

    Hi,
    If I trigger a BPM Process from say a BSP Application(Shld be able to do this as all I need is a Service Interface (Start Event) related to the BPM), If for some reason the process fails to start -- Is there a way of  having a response that would let the triggering application know that the BPM process instantiation has failed...
    What I am trying to understand is :
    1)would the Service Interface for the BPM start Event, provide a response ?...??
    2)Is it possible to have some kind of logic implementation for this Service Interface(that starts a BPM Process) ??
    Eventhough there was a similar message in the forum, I wanted to have a clear picture ....
    A detailed reply would be highly appreciated ..Thanks !
    Best Regards,
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
    I guess you need to distinguish 2 to 3 cases here:
    In case you used a snychronous call in the service interface definition assigned to the process start event it will result in a SOAP fault, which says that the process started successfully. Reason for that is explained here: Starting a BPM Process - Where is the Service?
    Problems within your process would also not be reflected in the SOAP message (e.g. if there is some issue within the first step after the process has been started). I guess that is somehow obvious as the process has been started after all, but I wanted to state it anyways.
    Finally and that's possibly the most important point for you: If there are any problems during the instantiation and in the end no process has been started then this should be reflected in the SOAP result. If not I would consider it as an issue in the implementation and would like to ask you to open a ticket for it on http://service.sap.com/message
    More details could be found in the documentation:

  • Process Chains with Event Trigger

    Hi Experts,
    Happy Valentine day.
    I have a requirement to run a Process Chain using Event IDs. Now these Evenrt ID should be triggered by a Program which raises this Eovent. Then this Program should be scheduled in BAckground to run periodically. Has anyone done this before. If yes, could you please shower some light on this topic with details on the steps.
    Thanks
    DV

    Hi,
    1)You can make the process chain to be trigered by an event.
    You create user events in SM62. In SM62, next to "User even names", click on Maintain and press Enter. Click on the Create icon to create a new event (let's call it ZEVENT).
    Next, in your process chain, change the Start variant to be scheduled "After event", and put in ZEVENT for the event name. Also, click on the "Periodic job" at the bottom. This will automatically reschedule the jobs for the process chain after it executes.
    Next, create an ABAP program (let's call it Z_EVENT_RAISE) to call the function module BP_EVENT_RAISE. You're code can look like this:
    codeREPORT Z_EVENT_RAISE.
    PARAMETERS: P_EVENT LIKE TBTCO-EVENTID.
    CALL FUNCTION 'BP_EVENT_RAISE'
    EXPORTING
    EVENTID = P_EVENT.
    IF sy-subrc 0.
    MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
    WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
    ENDIF.[/code]
    This ABAP program will prompt for an event name, so you will need to create a variant (let's call it ZEVENT) which will save the value of the event name (also ZEVENT). You will need the variant name to be able to trigger the event in a batch job.
    Now all you need is the batch job. Use tcode SM36 to create a batch job where you call the ABAP program (Z_EVENT_RAISE) using the variant (ZEVENT).
    Note, SM64 only triggers an event manually.
    and you can copy this job to schedule it three times a day.
    2)In the Start process of your process chain, select Direct Scheduling and then click the Change Selections icon. This will bring you to the Start Time window where you can put in the Date/Time you want to start your process chain. At the bottom of this window, click on the Periodic job box and you will notice another icon way at the bottom called Period Values. Click this to determine what frequency the job should be rescheduled (ie. daily, weekly, etc.).
    3)you can do this by right-clicking on the start process, selection "Maintain Variant", choose "Direct Scheduling". Next select "Change Selections", pick your date and time, set your period values and you're done.
    Thanks,
    JituK

  • Use event trigger process chain

    Hi friends,
    I am working on a process chain tuning task.
    One request is to change a schedule method  of an interrupt from date/time to event.
    I know how to generate and utilize event.
    My worrying is:
    Is an event has duration?
    E.g Today's process chain scheduled at 01am,,processing, the interrupt was triggered  by event at 04am, but at 10am, the event was trigger again for some unknown reason.
    Then,the process chain with the interrupt will be scheduled  at 04am tomorrow, but actually, there may be no event for tomorrow as requirement(due to some reasons,we do not like PC run everyday).
    Anyone know how to solve this problem?

    Martin
    You partially answered my questions.
    My chain contains both date/time schedule and event trigger.
    As is:
    Start-date/time schedule daily at 1:00am
    step1,step2,,etc
    interrupt-now, it is date/time schedule,at 4:00am
    other steps.
    To be:
    Start-date/time schedule daily at 1:00am
    step1,step2,,etc
    interrupt-  event trigger schedule
    other steps.
    I know how to trigger event by ABAP program.
    My concern is:
    Today afternoon, someone run this ABAP 10 times to generate 10 events,what will happen tomorrow?
    Actually,according to business requirement,tomorrow's process chain(interrupt below part) shall not be ran.

  • How to determine the source of Events triggered in a process chain

    Hi ,
      We have almost a 100 process chains, and of these approx 20-30 local process chains are triggered by events raised within other process chains.  These events are raised via BP_EVENT_RAISE using the ABAP process type.
    However, our problem is to identify the source of these event trigger - i.e. which process chain triggered this event ?
    Looking at SM64, the event history does not display the source for these events.
    Is there any table or program that we can use to determine the source of these events which are triggered.
    Any help is much appreciated and points awarded.

    Hi,
    do check in the program /SSA/BWT . or TCODE - ST13 -- enter BW-TOOLS and execute. -- Choose Process chains and execute --- Select the date and time for which you want to see the process chains and execute again.
    This will give you the entire list of process chains triggered, status, timings(start, end, overall runtime). Once clicked on the process chains it will show you the steps in theprocess chains, data loaded in the data targets, source system, etc...
    hope it helps.

  • Process chain: manual data change as start process?

    Hi,
    i have two BWs in which i hold identical InfoObjects (master data). now i want to use a process chain to transfer any changes made to the data in BW X into that object in BW Y.
    is it possible to use manual changes of this master data as a start process for the process chain? i only saw the possibility to use InfoPackages and so on. but my process chain should just be triggered by a manual change in the master data attributes.
    how do i configure an event as a trigger for the process chain? i do not see the purpose of a start process because i do not see how i can link it with an event...

    Hi Ram,
    i hope I understood everything right.
    the table that you called "ztest1" I replaced with /BIC/PVCOM1_U02. That is the copy of the master data from the remote system.
    The table in the local system, with which we compare the table /BIC/PVCOM1_U02, has the name /BIC/PVCOM1.
    The name of the event I created is called "VCOM_DATA_CHANGE".
    And here it goes...
    ****************BEGIN OF PROGRAM**********
    *& Report Z_EVENT_DATA_CHANGE
    REPORT Z_EVENT_DATA_CHANGE.
    /BIC/PVCOM1_U02 is the table copied from the remote system
    /BIC/PVCOM1 is the table containing the master data on the current system
    tables: /BIC/PVCOM1_U02, /BIC/PVCOM1.
    data: zrec_old(15), zrec_new(15) type c.
    data: ztest_old type /BIC/PVCOM1_U02 occurs 10 with header line,
    ztest_new type /BIC/PVCOM1 occurs 10 with header line.
    select * from /BIC/PVCOM1_U02 into TABLE ztest_old.
    zrec_old = sy-dbcnt.
    select * from /BIC/PVCOM1 into TABLE ztest_new
    where OBJVERS = 'A'.
    zrec_new = sy-dbcnt.
    if i understood correctly, we sort the tables by field names
    so i replaced CURRENCY and ANSALARY by /BIC/PVCOM2_U02, which is the only field in my table beside /BIC/PVCOM1_U02
    sort ztest_old by /BIC/ZTEST1 CURRENCY ANSALARY.
    sort ztest_old by /BIC/PVCOM1_02 /BIC/PVCOM2_U02.
    sort ztest_new by /BIC/PVCOM1 /BIS/PVCOM2.
    if zrec_old <> zrec_new.
    perform event_raise.
    else.
    loop at ztest_new.
    read table ztest_old with key
    /BIC/PVCOM1_U02 = ztest_new-/BIC/PVCOM1  "dot missing?
    /BIC/PVCOM2_U02 = ztest_new-/BIC/PVCOM2.
    if sy-subrc <> 0.
    perform event_raise.
    endif.
    endloop.
    endif.
    *& Form event_raise
    text
    --> p1 text
    <-- p2 text
    FORM event_raise .
    CALL FUNCTION 'BP_EVENT_RAISE'

    EVENTID = 'VCOM_DATA_CHANGE'
    EVENTPARM = ' '
    TARGET_INSTANCE = ' '

    BAD_EVENTID = 1
    EVENTID_DOES_NOT_EXIST = 2
    EVENTID_MISSING = 3
    RAISE_FAILED = 4
    OTHERS = 5.
    IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
    MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
    WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
    ENDIF.
    loop at ztest_new.
    move-corresponding ztest_new to /BIC/PVCOM1_U02.
    modify /BIC/PVCOM1_U02.
    commit work.
    endloop.
    LEAVE PROGRAM.
    ENDFORM. " event_raise
    ****************END OF PROGRAM**********
    Thanks for helping me again.
    I will now find out, how two implement and schedule this program. And how to run the process chain based on that event.

  • Event Trigger BI Publisher 11g

    I have an event trigger defined as type After Data. The function executes.. inserts into a table (table used to verify if function is actually executing via BI Publisher).
    The problem I'm seeing is that the parameter in the report that globally goes out is sent but the parameters that are globably coming back are not populated in the report.
    This package works fine in BI Publisher release 10.1.3.4.
    In the properties of the Data Model I have included package for Oracle DB Default Package
    The  parameter are defined as:
    1. Name: REQNUM, Data Type: String Default Value: Parameter Type: Text
    2. Name: PMAXUSER, Data Type: String Default Value: Parameter Type: Text
    3. Name: PMAXDATE, Data Type: String Default Value: Parameter Type: Text
    4. Name: MYTESt, Data Type: String Default Value: Parameter Type: Text
    In options I have Refresh other parameters on change checked.
    Thank you in advance for your help.

    First, make sure you've got enough machine resources as BIEE11g is resources hungry.
    Next, after installation you should have icons to start BIEE11g (try windows version as it is easier to start up).
    Run the startBIEE11g script and it will take some minutes, be patient. Once you get all processes running
    then you can try to login.
    Take a look at my post:

  • How to start process chain without sapall rigths...

    Hi everybody,
    I got the following problem:
    A (normal) user without sapall rights should be able to start a process chain by clicking a button in a bsp application. This works so far.
    The process chain is started by invoking the function module RSPC_API_CHAIN_START. The authority check in the fm throws an error because the user does not have the proper rights/roles to plan a batch job for the ALEREMOTE user.
    Does anybody has a solution for this? It's really urgent!!!
    Thanks in advance,
    Joerg

    Hi Joerg,
    You might opt to change the scheduling of the start step of your process chain so that it is triggered by an event. Here are the steps:
    1) Define an event in SM62
    2) Change your process chain so that it is triggered by the event you created in step 1.
    3) Change your ABAP code (that responds to the button in your BSP application...the planning function i think). You can then use the function module BP_EVENT_RAISE to trigger the event you created in #1.
    Advantage:
    The users don't need the extra authorizations.
    Disadvantage:
    In contrast to using the RSPC_API_CHAIN_START function module, you won't immediately know whether the process chain was started successfully (you might have to call another FM to check the status).
    If you can't change the trigger for the process chain, then the longer solution would be to construct an ABAP program that will execute the RSPC_API_CHAIN_START, schedule the program in a background job (to run under a powerful user id),  set the background to be triggered by an event, trigger the event when the user clicks the button.

  • Information Broadcasting(Event data change in Process chains)

    Hi All,
    Does anyone have experince on the functionality Information Broadcasting ,Can you please help me where we use Trigger event when change in the info provider in the process chains.I want to know when we use the (Trigger event in the Broadcaster) in the process chains,how will it take effect in the Information Broadcasting scheduler screen when we select the particular Info provider when there is any data change(Including an Event data change in a process chain).Can you please elaborate on the topic if any one has used the event data change in the info provider.Can you provide me with steps that would be great help.Answers are always appreciated and rewarded.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Usually we trigger an event in SM64 tcode..if u want to create an event u will go for SM62.
    In addition to time- and calendar-based job scheduling, the background processing system supports event-driven scheduling.
    Triggering an event notifies the background processing system that a particular condition has been met. The background processing system reacts by starting any jobs that were waiting for that event.
    Events are not saved. Once an event occurs and triggers any jobs that were waiting for that event, the event is discarded
    U can monitor process chain via Tcode 'CCMS'..

    BIP has provided a webservice,

    Write a simple Java program, which will look at the server and point to run the report you wanted.

  • How to trigger the start  of activity in BPM Studio 10.3

    Hi
    I am new to BPM Studio 10.3.1.
    I have configured two External Resources
    1)J2EE Application Server: Giving details of the application server on which my JMS Queue resides
    2)JMS Messaging Service: Giving details of the JMS Queue
    I want to trigger the start of BPM process/ activity execution when a message arrives on the configured JMS Queue from an external system.
    How will I be able to listen to that queue?
    Similarly, I would also like to know the steps to post a message to JMS through the activity in BPM Studio.
    Is there any document available that helps in configuring the External Resources other than the Studio Reference guide and User guide.
    Can anyone please help on this?
    Thanks

    I don't know if this is exactly what you're after when you wan't to start an 'activity' with a JMS message,
    If you're searching for a way to start the process, this might be your solution:
    String procId = process.id;
    *// Load the JMS Message in the argument holder*
    m_begin.load(xmlText : message.textValue);
    logMessage("JMS message retrieved from queue: \n" + message.textValue, severity : Severity.DEBUG);
    *// Set the arguments which are sent with the new instance*
    *Any[String] argsIn;*
    argsIn["beginArg"] = m_begin;
    *// Specify the process in which the new instance should be created*
    ProcessInstance.create(processId : procId, arguments : argsIn, argumentsSetName : "BeginIn");
    If you wan't to notify an instance which is in a Wait activity, you can use this:
    *// Putting the message in the paramaters*
    *Any[Any] params;*
    logMessage("JMS message retrieved from queue: \n" + message.textValue, severity : Severity.DEBUG);
    params["waitArg"] = m_wait;
    *String instId = {instance ID};*
    Notification.send(instanceId : instId, activityName : "WaitActivity", argumentSetName : "WaitIn", parameters : params);

    2.Audit log : In SAP 7.3.1  I need to post message audit log to JMS adapter using Event trigger (Start time / End time ) without  using BPMs.
    Please suggest on this.

    Hi Inder - Regarding the audit log - have a look at the below blog
    http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2013/03/09/michals-popi-tips-audit-logs-from-a-native-ws--new-feature (1)
    For the alerting , either you can use above suggested approach or have a look at the below blog
    Customize E-Mail Body and Subject in Alerts in SAP PI 7.31 – Java Stack Only – Part 1 – ESR  (2)
    May be you can merge both of them, after reading the alerts(2) make another soap call to get the audit log entries(1) and send it to JMS adapter..
    Of course it's not an event based instead it works based on polling Interval that you configure in the channel..
