Evidently lost access to 23,000 items via Match
I'm new to iOS altogether with my first iPad. I still use 10.6.8 on my MBP. I may get some terms mixed up, so (1) feel free to ask what may seem like obvious questions, and (2) don't assume I know ALL the rudimentary functions. I'm still learning.
Having enabled Match from my MacBookPro, I did find all 23,000+ items available in iPad Music. Playlists, Albums, Genres, all work fine. But since then I've done SOMETHING to constrain display to only a few of each. As indicated in these three screenshots, no Search criterion seems active to cause that.
I recall that at one point I encountered a dialog box asking if I wanted to replace all the media content on this iPad. I THINK I declined, even though the iPad has virtually nothing on it so far. Someone else suggested I may have messed up a Synch at that point, but I don't have a shot of that dialog.
I'm not worried, because I know I have all files resident on my MBP mechanical drive (and four external mirror backups rotating). I know I haven't done anything like the equivalent of wiping the drive. At worst, it SEEMS LIKE a sync issue, the specifics of which I don't yet understand.
Does anyone have ANY suggestions as to what I've done to have my iPad Music constrained to these few items? And what do I do to restore access via Match for all 23,000+ items?

Before going further, would you please let me confirm something? Thanks for your understanding.
Based on your description, did you mean that install server with AD and install the Exchange Server 2013, then
you remove Exchange Server and AD? When you promote to DC, there will be domain administrator account. Once you demote, it will be local administrator account. This folder that you describe is for user profile. Would you please logoff, then logon computer
again as local administrator account? Then please check the result.
Regarding to the SSL issue, would you please let me know which Browser you use to access website then you get
this error messages? IE or others? Please use
SSL Diagnostics Tool to troubleshoot SSL issues.
In addition, it seems that this SSL issue is more related to IIS. I suggest you should post in IIS forum. I
believe we will get a better assistance there.

Problem while uploading 10,000 items via import workbench in PROD

we are using advance product catalog R12.1.3 (PIM). When we are trying to upload 10,000 items via import workbench , We are facing an error not even one record imported .please see the below log file. Please help us regarding this issue .
The situation is as follows.
1) About 10 000 uploaded to PROD env.
2) About 10 000 uploaded to PROD env.
3) About 10 000 uploaded to PROD env.
4) Import of all batches started and all ended with warnings (see below)
5) All data (30 000 SI) was lost (not in imported and not in excluded)
6) 1 SI was upload and imported ok
7) All upload batches fail with message (in excels message column) when the upload check is run: “Cannot execute SQL Statement.”
I’m trying to upload the same data that was upload successfully once, but now fails. (even the one row that went in).
PROD has been booted as well as my computer

Weird lost access to iMac's desktop via Airport Extreme wireless LAN
This is weird and complicated. I'll try to keep it simple.
1. Two computers on a wireless LAN via Airport Extreme: G4 Powerbook and 20" G5 iMac. The LAN has worked flawlessly and seamlessly for several years, and except for this ONE anomaly, still does.
2. When logged-in to the iMac from the Powerbook, all its files and contents show up normally in it's networked-drive window in Finder,
3. EXCEPT the desktop. And I mean the real desktop which is under my ID under USERS.
4. Searching the Powerbook from the iMac, however, works just fine and shows all of the Powerbook's contents.
Repairs of Permissions on both computers have accomplished nothing.
There is one other peculiar symptom: there was a .wmv movie file sent me by a friend, and I had a copy of it on the desktops of both computers. It sat there, showed up and ran just fine, until one day something curious happened:
The file would show up in the column-view Finder window of the iMac's desktop when I opened it from the Finder Window, but would, after about a second, disappear!
If I try to import, on the Powerbook, some random file into the iMac's Desktop folder, it appears for a brief second and then the folder once again displays as empty.
I have trashed that wmv file, and yet sometimes its name blinks up on the iMac's desktop list (that is, again, the column view display in the Finder window).
This is profoundly weird.
Oh, and there's nothing changed or weird about the SHARING settings. Personal File Sharing is enabled on both computers, as is Printer Sharing, and itunes music sharing is also enabled. All of these continue to work just fine. Firewall is enabled, but always has been.

I rank Disk Utility from the install disk, did a disk repair, and, well, Bob's your uncle, and all is fine again. Apparently that ghost file screwed up the count of files (I'm not sure what that means, but it seems consistent with a file that would materialize and then disappear, and screw up display of a folder's contents - the folder it was lurking-in invisibly.
Very peculiar, none the less.

I have been a long time Firefox user and this is the first time I am truly baffled. Now if I try to log into gmail or any google account on my main PC I just get an error message as below.

I had to get a new hard drive in my 27 in IMac. I used time machine to get everything back on my computer. I just turn on time machine and its says it's preparing over 800,000 items to back-up, it never back-up, it stop and starts the process over again.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)

3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

I changed my ID due to an email accessibility issue and I lost access to all my purchased music for the last few years. Been browsing through the support area and it seems like everyone is saying I will have to rebuy everything. Is this really true?
Apple has to be more user friendly than to let something like this happen, right?Did you change the ID, or did you create a new Apple ID? If you had simply changed the ID then what I suggested above should work as the ID itself is the same (even though the name of the ID - the address - has changed).
However if you created a new ID, logged in with that, and purchased items on it, then you have two separate IDs each with purchased associated with them. You say that you can't log in to the original account with the 'alternate' email - have you tried logging in with the original email address? It doesn't matter if it doesn't actually work to receive mail, as far as logging in is concerned it's just a text string. -
Lost access to office (excel, word) from launchpage in BPC
Hi,
a couple of days ago 4 out of 5 users lost access to officetools (lost the buttons for excel, word and ppt) from launchpage in BPC 5.1, SP3. BPC is installed on 3 different citrix-servers and locally on a number of PC's. All PC-user have all access on their local client on their PC's. 4 out 5 user (administrators) can not get acces to excel from BPC using serverclient on 2 out of 3 servers. 1 out of 5 users can access office from BPC on all 3 servers. It all happend a week ago and we haven't been able to solve the problem.
Do anyone have a solution?

Please try any of the following :
Issue can be resolved by checking Bypass Proxy server for local addresses under the Internet Explorer settings.
Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN settings.
The IP address of the OutlookSoft server was also added to the Exception list.
OR
Users cannot log into OutlookSoft for Excel after applying a Microsoft Update.
Machines that have applied these updates are no longer able to log in to OutlookSoft for Excel via the toolbar.
The Logon button appears however nothing happens when you press it. The toolbar flickers but OutlookSoft for Excel doesn't open.
Unless you manually enabled the ev4Excel.xla add-in you won't able to log into OutlookSoft for Excel, but once you're logged in you won't able to log out short of control-alt-del.
Solution:: The issue is caused by KB921503, which is described as MS07-043: Vulnerability in OLE Automation could allow remote code execution.
Once we removed this hotfix, the module worked again.

In some cases, removing the hotfix does not work.
The Logon button for PowerPoint and Word does load correctly. This appears to only affect OutlookSoft for Excel.
This affects 100% of the PC that applied the Windows update.

I lost access to my email account quite a while ago. I don't remember what the old pass word is. My I cloud account under my email settings is correct. My phone set up fine, but when I set my ipad up, it comes up with old email address. In the email settings the icloud is correct. But it will not let me change it in the part I need to. It is greyed out. This is actually for the iphone 5.
If you're running iOS 6, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account. To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll. -
Been having problems with Firefox/internet for several days, and all my updates seemed current. I decided to try to reload and have removed the other icons/download attempts from the app file. When I try to drag the icon into apps, I now get this message:

This is a strange one... I just recently did a complete format/reinstall of Lion because of very poor performance after upgrading.
So I'm on a totally fresh system, no TimeMachine restore or anything. I've installed all my apps from scratch - no prefrence file backups or anything. Everything is fresh.
Yesterday I tried to copy a file from one folder to another and I got the error "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items". Checked file permissions... repaired disk permissions... made sure I was logged in as admin (I only have one account)... everything looks good.
This is now happening when trying to copy any files anywhere on my machine... Very frustrating.
There's a couple strange side-effects I've noticed:
- I can move & copy files just fine in terminal... without sudo...
- The little lock icon in the bottom right of the Get Info window doesn't do anything - I can't unlock it. I can still edit the permissions for the file/folder but I can't select the "apply to enclosed items..." option.

Ok the strangeness continues!
I created a new "TestAdmin" account, but it doesn't show up in the Users & Groups prefrences sidebar... The /Users/testadmin folder was created, but the account doesn't show up in the prefrences or login window...
I tried a reboot to see if the account would show up and it still doesnt.... However after the reboot I am now able to copy files again!
I'm paranoid that the problem will show up again since I have no idea what fixed it. I tried rebooting previously after repairing permissions which didn't solve the issue so it's not like I haven't rebooted since it started.
And now I have the issue of not being able to create user accounts.
A little dissapointed with Lion to be honest... the new features are cool but there are so many little bugs it really feels half-baked. -

I am feeling VERY desperate!
After losing an external drive [dont ask....] - I got another one : 2TB WD formatted properly [ OS extended journalled for mac ] ready for action to move my thousands of files and images and ppts in hundreds of folders across from the laptop to this drive because I travel a bit with the laptop and this is too risky not to back up at home.
But this message came up after starting on moving folders across [** and not straight away, sometimes after moving a folder when 4 of 6 gb of files across then the message comes up = very frustrating]:
"The operation can’t be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items."
I am dragging mixed sometimes large complex folders to this os extended journalled external drive from my mac book pro OS 10.6.8 - it would take decades to move items one by one or even folder by folder and really confusing.
I have dragged-copied various small folders and files across successfully, but it is only working 50:50 and I can't leave machine with the idea of things copying eg: overnight - it just won't work....
I have been browsing google and find some people describing in CODE how they overcome this 'message' .... but I [and I guess some other viewers of this in future & also in desperation] would need instructions for beginners.... to try this type of thing. I don't know any code.
How can this be happening - I feel ANGRY at APPLE !!!! for not posting easy fix instructions yet re; this, or better still updating software so it doesn't happen [ that I can find at least !!! ] . There seem to be hundreds of people stuck with this stupid message and inability to back up their projects etc.
Can anyone help ?

Your suggestion sounds very promising - I didn't know about 'cloning'.
Yes the idea is to backup the laptop - I thought I would just move it all now, new - and then keep saving/dragging physically across to the new drive myself each day or two...
Would this be the sizeof the internal hard drive = c.500 gb ? = under the HD icon on desktop is written :
" 499.76gb , 311.5 gb free "
I can erase and start agin on the new external drive - so this plan is to make two partititions, rather than the one at present, and make one of them 500 gb ?
I have found CCC [carbon copy cloner] googling - looks good.
When CCC site says it backs up the hard drive - would this mean all my files [over 100 gb] that are mostly in folders on the desktop, plus the others in itunes, iphotos etc found in the HD icon, would all copy across successfully [wherever they are in the computer ] ?

She doesn't have admin privileges, so when I tried to install Firefox 4 in her account, I had to authenticate with my admin identity and PW. Installation went smoothly after that. My guess is that you could also simply create a new account on the same machine and install Firefox 4 from that. I have no idea why this works.

Secure Delete gives me a "don't have permission to access some of the items
I am cleaning up my drives on a MBP and it came time to delete files from my trash.
Lots went but I ended up with several that blocks the delete process and I get a message "don’t have permission to access some of the items."
Well I did repair my permissions and tried the secure delete again and got the same message.
I do not have the option of doing just a plain delete.
Does anyone have a fix for me?

Of course you do (disable secure delete in finder prefs/advanced) - and when you do, a dialog will appear that allows you to enter an admin password. Delete all that fall into this category first...
Secure deletes take forever....why do that - if you're getting rid of the computer/hd, just format and zero it out then, instead. -
