Example XML file - tags, metadata, etc??

Hi;
Again, I apologize for being so obnoxious.
When you specify the fileNameNoExt.xml by adding the -xml to your request, I am to assume that this overrides the config files at the packaging server, correct?
So, on that note, I do not really see which XML tags I would need to add or edit.
Where would I find a list of all of the accepted XML tags that I would use? The reason that I ask is that I do not see an XML tag that would indicate a Media Server location an/or URL.
Maybe I just cannot see the forest through the trees.
If someone has an example XML file that shows the location and src of the uploaded publication, would they PLEASE post it?
That is all I would need. I just want to know what tags to put around these parameters. I am having a hell of a time finding that information.
Thanks
Glen

  • XML File Tags Validation Using Oracle.

    Dear Forum Members,
    I have a doubt regarding XML File Tags Validation.
    First I will explain My Requirement.
    1. I have to generate an XML File in a Predefined Format.
    2. User will add some data in the elements, or he may copy the same elements and change to some data like
    <Emp><Empno>10</Empno></Emp>
    The above tag will be generated by the application.
    User will copy the same and change to
    <Emp><Empno>20</Empno></Emp>.
    Now he want to Upload the Changed XML File to the Database table. This is done by parsing the XML File.
    The Creation and Parsing section is over. But before Parsing I want to check for the Validation of the XML Tag. i.e. whether the tag he has copied <Emp><Empno>10</Empno></Emp> is chaned by mistake to
    <Emp><Empno>10</Empno></Emps> or some other Mistakes.
    What I have to Do..
    Regards
    Madhu K

    I still think that my previous response is valid:
    If you e.g. include (concat) your DTD in your XML it will be validated against it!
    See e.g.:

  • Hi All, Can I access Adobe reader internal variables in my pdf? for example location, file size, creator etc.

    Hi All, Can I access Adobe reader internal variables in my pdf? for example location, file size, creator etc. I want to create a hyperlink in my pdf $Location/another.pdf?

    Thanks Gilad.
    let me rephrase my requirement. I have a group of pdf files where one pdf has hyperlinks to the other pdfs
    parent.pdf
    -- child1.pdf
    -- child2.pdf
    when I click on the child hyperlink I want the child.pdf to be displayed in another window/reader
    If I have the hyperlink as file:./child1.pdf it does not work. It needs a complete path.
    So when I create this file in MSWord first, Can I artificially create a placeholder for the directory and append the child.pdf?
    suppose the properties say Location = /tmp/pdfs/
    can I have in the hyperlink something like file:/$Location/child.pdf and when reader is used it substitutes the url
    so I get file:/tmp/pdfs/child.pdf
    Hope I explained this.
    thanks
    -Francis
    OK, let me have a very simple requirement. Can I create a pdf and when I open it
    there is one line that says - This File is in xxx directory.
    where xxx is the directory name where the file is. If I have the file in /tmp then it should say This file is in /tmp directory
    and if I copy it to /other then open it, it should say This file is in /other directory.

  • Embedding data from xml file into metadata of a pdf

    Hi All
    I'm wanting to do the following, but struggling to figure the right way to go about it.
    I want to embedded data from my MIS into a pdf's metadata (as scrnshot). I can create a standalone xml file with all the data I require, but I'm unsure how to automate that being embedded into a pdf's advanced metadata. I know this can be done, as it worked at a previous employer, but I didn't get chance to find out how they did it.
    I'm wanting to do this so I can carry out a more advanced search of the metadata in Bridge.
    Any advice would be appreciated!

    Hi Northern,
        I have modified the modifyingXMP sample for you. After this change, put your xmp file as sample.xml and also put pdf file in the same folder where ModifyXMP executable is. After merging my changes, ModifyXMP file will read the sample.xml and will embed it into pdf file.
       Please follow the following steps
    1. Download XMPToolkit SDK and follow the steps to compile Sample
    2. Open ModifyingXMP file, replace all the content of that file with the below content
    3. Compile the ModifyingXMP file.
    4. The ModifyXMP.exe will be generated in folder (samples\target\windows\Debug), if you have changed the output folder it will be generated there.
    5. In parallel to ModifyingXMP.exe put the sample.xml (the xml file you have) and also the pdf file (say pdf file name is mypdf.pdf)
    6. Go to console and change directory to the directory where ModifyingXMP is and pass the following command
    ModifyingXMP mypdf.pdf
    7. Open the pdf file and check that value/properties
    For your reference, I am putting the content of the sample.xml file too, put this content in sample.xmp and any pdf and you will find subject field is getting added.
    ************** content of the sample.xml file. Create a file name sample.xml and put that content. Put sample.xml in parallel to ModifyingXMP.exe*******

  • Application.xml file?

    What is the use of the Application.xml file in enterprise application> If we not specified it...what will happen?
    Thanks,
    R.

    The application.xml file specifies metadata about the Java EE application as a whole. The main pieces of information are the list of modules(ejb-jar, .war, application client, etc.) in the .ear. It was required for J2EE 1.4 and earlier but is optional in Java EE 5, where the module type is derived based on the contents of the modules themselves.

  • Error while Importing ResourceObject  xml file in Deployment Manager

    Hi Everyone,
    I am getting this error while doing Import of HRPeopleSoftResourceObjects.xml ( A Resource Object xml file) in Deployment Manager. I am doing this step for Authoritative(Trusted Source) Reconciliation.
    Error Says:- Attribute not present in EntityDefination of User :: ExpectedReturnDate.
    ExpectedReturnDate is a UDF (Customize) field. I did Metadata and Sandbox import for this field to create this attribute in OIM. I can see this attribute on User Details screen as well as in User Table in OIM. So, ideally this error should not popup. I have to do this import for Reconciliation.
    I pulled and checked all the xml files like(UserEO.xml.xml, userEO.xml.xml, userVO.xml, UserVO.xml.xml) from oracle.iam.console.identity.self-service.ear_V2.0_metadata1 and found ExpectedReturnDate field is available.
    I am using: OIM Version - Oracle 11g Release 2
    Database version - 11.2.0
    Weblogic version - 10.3
    Please let me know how to resolve this error.
    Appreciate your response and support!
    Warm Regards

    Appreciate your response Kevin!
    I saw your response today. What you have suggested in your post make perfect sense to me.
    Yesterday, I was able to create Reconciliation profile successfully. No idea how it worked so, didn't updated my post.
    I tried to re-import the UDF, noticed ExpectedReturnDate attribute has little icon in fornt of it on deployment manager screen which says on mouse over "new field". No idea why as I didn't delete it from anywhere, perhaps it didn't get imported properly previously. I stepped ahead and clicked the import button on deployment manager but failed as it was throwing an exception which says udf_usr_expectedReturnDate is available in usr table. That makes sense to me as this column got created in usr table in OIM because of previous import and I didn't delete it either. This raised couple of doubts more as, along with this attribute there were other attributes in the same metadata xml file which were part of previous import and their respective columns were already created in usr table. Then why message poped-up for this field in particular? Anyway I went ahead with the import process.
    Now I stopped all the server (Admin, SOA and OIM) and restarted them again and performed the same steps as mentioned above and this time it worked as expected. UDF file got imported successfully.
    After this I went to Design Console verified all the fields and created the Reconciliation Profile. I checked OIM database and found RA_ProfileName recon tables got created.
    As per your comment, Today I checked the RECON_USER_OLDSTATE table but this table is empty.
    Still I have couple of doubts, if Reconciliation Profile got created it should create the xml file under metadata direcectory(in my case path should be: /apps/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_IDM1/server/metadata/db). Please correct me if I am wrong? I hope it should be physical file not a logical file.
    Once again thanks for your response!
    Warm Regards

  • Find keyword in XML file from an array of keywords

    Hi,
    I have an array of collection of keyword:
    $KeyWord = @("Fail","Exception","Terminated","Error")
    I want to check in a textfile sample.xml, if any or all keywords from the array $KeyWord exist. If any of the keyword exist in the textfile, a boolean variable $ExceptionOccurred will return $true.
    The code I am using working good with a TEXT file, but not working with XML file. Is there a way to convert XML to Text and then look for keyword in plaintext?
    Code:
    $KeyWord = @("Fail","Exception","Terminated","Error")
    $sampleFile = Get-Content .\file1.txt
    $ExceptionOccurred = $false
    $KeyWord | ForEach {
        If ($sampleFile -contains $_) {
            $ExceptionOccurred = $true
    $ExceptionOccurred

    hello,
    with PowerShell you can parsing XML files.
    Example XML-File:
    <ListOfData><Table><service>Backup1</service><description>Backup</description><status>Fail</status></Table><Table><service>Backup2</service><description>Backup</description><status>Exception</status></Table><Table><service>Backup2</service><description>Backup</description><status>Error</status></Table></ListOfData>
    with Select-Object you expand the XML as Table and ForEach-Object with if match the attribute "status" for value in the $KeyWord array.
    $KeyWord = @("Fail","Exception","Terminated","Error")[xml]$xml = Get-Content .\file.xml$xml.ListOfData | Select-Object -ExpandProperty Table | ForEach-Object{if($KeyWord -contains $_.status){$ExceptionOccurred = $true}}

  • How to get attribute from xml file

  • Reading data From XML file and setting into ViewObject to Pouplate ADF UI

    Hi,
    I have following requirement.
    I would like to read data from XML file and populate the data in ViewObject so that the data can be displayed in the ADF UI.
    Also when user modifies the data in the ADF UI, it should be modified back into to ViewObject.
    Here is an example - XML file contains Book Title and Author. I would like to read Book Title and Author from XML file and set it into ViewObject Attribute and then display Book title and Author in ADF UI page. Also when user modifies Book title and Author, I would like to store it back in View Object.
    Please help me with this requirement and let me know if any solution exist in ADF, for populating the ADF UI screen fields with external XML file data.
    Thanks

  • CS4-JS : Read XML file and getting Attributes

    Dear All,
    How to get the Attributes based on the RootElements.
    For Example:
    //========================== XML File : Start ================================//

            <custname>120</custname>
             <atagst name="alpha" attributename="1" attributevalue="2" sty="First"/>

    Few questions:
    1. Your XML is not well formed.
    2. Secondly, I do not see any relation of XML with script. For instance, I do see any elements "customername", "applytagstyle" in input.
    3. Either you have not provided the complete source or either your dummy XML is incorrect.
    Anyways, having a quick look, I guess you are trying to get specific attributes values from XML tree. I will try to give you a kick start though you will be required to customized the script as per requirement (for instance rearranging the attribute values in array and so forth). Otherwise please try to post complete inputs.
    #include "glue code.jsx"
    //Get the attribute values of all elements
    main();
    function main(){
    if (app.documents.length != 0){
    var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
    var myRuleSet = new Array (
    new findObjAttribute("//*")
    with(myDoc){
    var elements = xmlElements;
    __processRuleSet(elements.item(0), myRuleSet);
    else{
    alert("You have no document open!");
    exit();
    function findObjAttribute(XPATH){
    this.name = "findObjAttribute";
    this.xpath = XPATH;
    this.apply = function(myElement, myRuleProcessor)
    var elmName=myElement.markupTag.name;
    with(myElement){
    try {
    var Name=myElement.xmlAttributes.itemByName("name").value;
    var AttName=myElement.xmlAttributes.itemByName("attributename").value;
    var AttValue=myElement.xmlAttributes.itemByName("attributevalue").value;
    var AttSty=myElement.xmlAttributes.itemByName("sty").value;
    $.writeln("Name: "+Name);
    $.writeln("AttributeName: "+AttName);
    $.writeln("AttributeValue: "+AttValue);
    $.writeln("Sty: "+AttSty);
         } catch(e){};
    return true;
    This will just print the values JavaScript console.

    Hi jrv, I would like to test to see if a server has that value.
    My end goal is to have a checkbox on a form I have created to be ticked if the value exists for Server 1 and antoher Checkbox doing the same for Server2. There are 30 different values in the XML I need to check for.
    e.g: Does BizTalkGroup1 contain 'BizTalk1' for Server1, if true checkbox is ticked if false checkbox is NOT ticked.
    Thanks for your help.

  • XML File Help / Denomalized Data

    Hi,
    Some software I work with allows me to import an XML file to create products into a database.  I was given an example XML file and have sucessfully used this and edited it using XML Notepad.  I have two records in the file which I can
    import into the database without issue.
    If I import the XML map into Excel and then try to add further records or edit what is already there and export out the XML it tell me that XML Maps are not exportable and if I do the verify map for export it tells me I get denormalized data.  As
    I'm new to working with this I wonder if anyone can tell from the XML below what the problem is when trying to use it in Excel?

    Not quite familiar with XML, but you can take a look at this:
    An XML mapping cannot be exported if the mapped element’s relationship with other elements cannot be preserved. This relationship may not be preserved for the following reasons:
    The schema definition of a mapped element is contained within a sequence with the following attributes:
    The maxoccurs attribute is not equal to 1.
    The sequence has more than one direct child element defined, or has another compositor as a direct child.
    Nonrepeating sibling elements with the same repeating parent element are mapped to different XML tables.
    Multiple repeating elements are mapped to the same XML table, and the repetition is not defined by an ancestor element.
    Child elements from different parents are mapped to the same XML table.
    Additionally, the XML mapping cannot be exported if it contains one of the following XML schema constructs:
    List of lists    One list of items contains a second list of items.
    Denormalized data    An XML table contains an element that has been defined in the schema to occur once (the
    maxoccurs attribute is set to 1). When you add such an element to an XML table, Excel fills the table column with multiple instances of the element.
    Choice    A mapped element is part of a
    <choice> schema construct.

  • How can I convert the metadata tags on my mp4s to xml files so that they can be read in Windows Media Center?

    I have a library with almost 3000 movies and TV shows that I have fully tagged. However, I have decided to start using Windows Media Center and it does its metadata tagging through XML files.  I wanted to know if anyone could tell me if there was a way to extract the metadata from those mp4s and convert them to a format that WMC could read?  Thanks!!!!

    iTunes can make XML playlists so it might be all you need, I made a simple one file playlist and exported it from iTunes. The result is shown below. In principle I could delete the playlist and the entry from the library, as long as I don't delete the file, then later reimport the XML playlist file. I haven't tested this particular scenario, but I assume that iTunes will read all the properties as listed unless it can read some kind of tag from the file itself in which case the current value of the tag would take precedence.
    What I don't know is what media center would make of this file, or what its files look like, however assuming they have a similar structure that can be decoded then it should be possible to read data from the iTunes library and write out a text file that will make sense to media centre.

  • Instance variable to hold the element of a tag in the xml file

    Hi I have an xml file that is handled using this parser
    <attr id="MY_NAME" >
    this parser hanled the above tag but now I want to have it handle
    <attr id="MY_NAME" desc="GOOD">
    but I need to create an instance variable to handle the desc element in the attr tag .
    Can some one help me out as this is not my file and I am having trouble to do please......

       The SupportMatrix class provides static variables and methods to simplify
       the determination of whether or not a given attribute is supported for a
       certain object type (queue manager, channel, etc.), depending on the version
       and platform of the queue manager to which it belongs.
       The SupportMatrix class may not be instantiated. Its constructor is private.
       An instance of the class is created internally in the static initializer so
       that the XML parsing methods are available.
       A corresponding XML document, SupportMatrix.xml, is parsed to create the various
       HashMaps which contain the version/platform dependency information. A number of
       inner classes are used to represent the various elements of the XML matrix
       definition.
       Here's a sample document:
       <!-- The supportmatrix tag opens the document -->
       <supportmatrix>
         <!-- Objects are keyed by classid. "1" is the classid of a queue manager object. -->
         <object classid="1">
           <!-- Versions group attributes according to the queue manager version where they
                were introduced. The "base" cmdlevel encompasses all versions up to 5.1. -->
           <version cmdlevel="base">
             <!-- Attributes are defined by the attr tag. -->
             <attr id="MQCA_Q_MGR_NAME">
               <!-- Support elements define the platform-specific requirements for an attribute. -->
               <support platforms="UNIX,WINDOWS,OS400,VMS,NSK" maxlen="48" type="MQCFST"/>
               <support platforms="MVS" maxlen="4" type="MQCFST"/>
             </attr>
             <attr id="MQCA_Q_MGR_DESC">
               <!-- Specific attribute characteristics, most notably maximum len for string parms,
                    are defined in the support element. As shown in the following example, it may
                    apply to all platforms. -->
               <support platforms="all" maxlen="64" type="MQCFST"/>
             </attr>
             <!-- Support elements are optional. -->
             <attr id="MQIA_PLATFORM"/>
             <attr id="MQIA_COMMAND_LEVEL"/>
           </version>
           <!-- The version element may 'include' other versions. Note that object elements
                may also refer to other objects via the 'include' parm of the object tag.
                This is to allow common attributes (especially for queues and channels) to
                be shared by multiple definitions in order to reduce some of the
                redundancy. -->
           <version cmdlevel="520" include="base">
           </version>
         </object>
       </supportmatrix>
       The inner classes, and their hierarchical relationships are as follows:
         SupportObject - corresponds to the <object> element. Stored in a static HashMap, and
                         keyed by classid.
           VersionObject - corresponds to the <version> element. Stored in a HashMap instance
                           variable of the SupportObject class, keyed by cmdlevel.
             AttributeObject - corresponds to the <attr> element. Stored in a HashMap instance
                               variable of the VersionObject class, keyed by attribute name.
               PlatformObject - corresponds to the <support> element. Stored in HashMaps belonging
                                to the AttributeObjects, keyed by platform. A single PlatformObject
                                instance is created when the support tag is encountered. The
                                "platforms" attribute of the support element is then processed. For
                                each platform in the comma-delimited list, an entry is added to the
                                collection of PlatformObjects. This is to greatly simplify later
                                lookups.
       In order to support the 'include' feature of object and version elements, certain
       functions are recursive. If the attribute to be validated is not found for the passed
       cmdlevel, the 'parent' VersionObject is consulted by means of the 'include' value. If
       the chain of VersionObjects has been exhausted and the attribute in question has still not
       been located, the next SupportObject in the chain is consulted in a similar fashion.

    Are you the one who commented out the code you're looking for ?//String desc = StringFactory.getString(attributes.getValue("desc"));You just have to modify you AttributeObject class to hold a new field : String description. And then, it's up to you to create a new constructor or a new setter method.
    Btw, this is not a Swing related question.
