• Excel 2007 Download Error from SQL Server 2012

Thank you for your help/comments in advance
We are running SQL Server 2012, downloading SSRS reports into Excel 2007.
The report renders to the monitor just fine.
Most downloads are fine but we get an error with the largest downloads (common denominator) but can be hit or miss. Usually a second try it will download. Today we tried numerous times and kept getting the error.
I saw a link to a service pack fix ...https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd255234(v=sql.110).aspx which somewhat fits my issue.
The Report Server Log (O:\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles\ReportServerService__04_01_2015.log) gives the following error message:

• Office Professional Plus 2007 download link

I have a valid CD key license. Is there a link to download the Professional Plus 2007 version out there? I work remotely, and currently do not have access to the CD itself.

Office 2007 Professional Plus is not available for public download, and is not available via Microsoft Store, because it is a Volume License edition only.
You will need to contact your company/organisation entitlement/benefit administrator (the person who has access to your company/organisation Volume Licensing agreement).
If this product was provided to you by your employer as an employee benefit (via the Home Use Program), you will need to check the HUP website
http://www.microsofthup.com/hupus/faq.aspx
Note that HUP has not offered Office2007 for many years and 2007 is no longer available via HUP.

2. then....
concatenate 'attachment;filename=' <filename> into lv_content_disposition_value .
loop at <binary data> into LT_CONTENT_BIN.   " LT_CONTENT_BIN is of RAW(1022) type

Hi Guys,
How did you solve the problem, as I am facing
the same issue with 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
in an existing custom BSP application while converting the string to a XLSX file.
FM 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
was working fine with XLS format but for XLSX format(Microsoft excel 2007) I am
not able to open the file.
I have tried with the MIMETYPE “application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet”
but was not successful.
Can you guys
toss some light on this please!!!

• ALV download to EXCEL -- probs with SAPGUI 6.40 and EXCEL 2007

I have a method in an ALV grid which performs a dowload to excel
Here's the method
method download_to_excel.
field-symbols:
<fs0> type standard table,
<fs1> type standard table.
assign g_outtab1->* to <fs0>.
assign g_fldcat1->* to <fs1>.
call function  'LVC_TRANSFER_TO_KKBLO'
exporting
it_fieldcat_lvc   = <fs1>
is_layout_lvc     = m_cl_variant->ms_layout
is_tech_complete  = ' '
importing
es_layout_kkblo   = ls_layout
et_fieldcat_kkblo = lt_fieldcat.
loop at lt_fieldcat into lt_fieldcat_wa.
clear lt_fieldcat_wa-tech_complete.
if lt_fieldcat_wa-tabname is initial.
lt_fieldcat_wa-tabname = '1'.
modify lt_fieldcat from lt_fieldcat_wa.
endif.
l_tabname = lt_fieldcat_wa-tabname.
endloop.
call function 'ALV_XXL_CALL'
exporting
i_tabname           = l_tabname
is_layout           = ls_layout
it_fieldcat         = lt_fieldcat
i_title             = sy-title
tables
it_outtab           = <fs0>
exceptions
fatal_error         = 1
no_display_possible = 2
others              = 3.
if  sy-subrc <> 0.
message id sy-msgid type 'S' number sy-msgno
with sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
endif.
endmethod.
Basically the method converts the GRID table I'm displaying into the format requred for FMOD ALV_XXL_CALL' -- the field catalog is slightly different but no big deal here.
This works fine when downloading to EXCEL 2003 but short dumps when trying to do the same thing for EXCEL 2007.
Workstation is running Windows XP / SP2 build 2600 in both cases.
Any fixes etc or should I stick with EXCEL 2003 until forced to upgrade.
Cheers

• Download to Excel 2007 (.xlsx) Help

Hi Everyone, I have an issue with the Download options - Download to Excel.
We have a few on-demand bulk reports that basically allows users to fire a detailed obiee report through GoURL.
Once the report is done, the Download Option - Download to Excel allow them to export data to an Excel Spread-sheet.
The issue is, OBIEE is exporting the data to Excel as Microsoft Office Excel 97-2003 Worksheet, (.xls) format. As we all know this has a max row count limitation (65000) per sheet.
I was wondering if there is any setting in OBIEE side that would force the Download to Microsoft Excel 2007, (.xlsx) format which has a max row count of 1 million.
If anyone can help me finding the configuration file or settings in OBIEE that would do the above requirement, is greately appreciated.
Thanks
Sai

• Wrong download in Spreadsheet (excel 2007) using Query

Hi,
Issue is: When i execute a query in SQ01 with output format as Spreadsheet ( i.e. Excel 2007 -Office 2007 is installed), the date and quantity formats are not displayed in Date and Qty format.
For e.x.
If the date is 01/24/2009 and qty is 34,786, in the spread sheet (Excel 2007) i can see
date as 39837 and qty as 34786. These can be changed manually in the excel file using Format cells. But, the requirement is to have it automatically, after download.
When i try it with Office 2003 (excel 2003), There is no problem. It works well.
Our SAP system-Release 4.7.
Please help me in resolving this issue ASAP.

• Is it possible to download a report to excel 2007?

Hello,
I'm wondering where I should configure the fact that I want to download a report that has been made in webi (XI 3.0) to an excel using the Excel version 2007 (with less limitation concerning the number of rows available). Right now I only have the option of downloading it to an Excel file of Excel version 2003.
thanks
Thierry

Hi All,
I'm on XI R2 and i had the same problem but when i intalled excel 2007 on my machine i'm able to export the data to excel even if the number of rows are more then 65krows.
In excel 2003 the row limitation is 65k row and in excel 2007 its around 10 lac rows.

• Have trouble query after creating a linked server from SQL Server 2008 to EXCEL 2007

I created a linked server from SQL Server 2008 Management Studio Express to an EXCEL 2007 workbook using:
sp_addlinkedserver @server='LSERVER_EX0', @srvproduct='EXCELDATA', @provider='Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0', @datasrc='C:\Temp\abc.xlsx', @provstr='EXCEL 12.0'
The linked server LSERVER_EX0 was created, but I cannot see any table(excel sheet), and when i ran the following to query tables,
sp_tables_ex 'LSERVER_EX0'
I got:Cannot obtain the schema rowset "DBSCHEMA_TABLES" for OLE DB provider "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" for linked server "LSERVER_EX0". The provider supports the interface, but returns a failure code when it is used.
Any hint why?
on another note, i was able to import the EXCEL sheets using the Import and Export Data wizard, but i cannot control the column data type and size in this way.

Open management studio, goto "Server Objects"->"Linked Servers"->Providers, select the provider you use, right click it and in provider options, check "Allow inprocess".

• I want to download Microsoft excel 2007 on my I pad

I. Want to download Microsoft excel 2007 on my iPad

Other suggestions are good.
Try Splashtop 2 - Remote Desktop. If you're around wifi and have excel on your computer, this could work very well for you. If you have a cellular ipad you can connect for $1.00 a month or $10.00 a year. I suggest you google Splashtop and read tech media and user reviews. You'll find the app in the itunes app store.
Hope this helps.

• Add-in Menu disappeard in Excel 2007

Hi Guys,
I have a problem that I don't able to see "add-Ins" menu in menu bar of my excel 2007. How should i enable this one?
Many Thanks,

Andrew,
I've been using the ribbon since it's release and have not personally run across any issues.
Make sure you get the very latest version of the toolbar as there was an issue with the 3.1 version (I think that was the release). I am running 3.2 at a client in Excel 2007/Essbase 11.1.2 and it's solid.
The only downside I can think of is that it uses the same Alt-S key combination that SmartView uses, so to get to the keystrokes (which is really nice other than this issue) I have to type Alt-S-2-R to get a retrieve. This would not be an issue if SmartView is not in the mix.
You can check this thread from their blog for a couple of issues others have found:
http://www.in2hyperion.com/post/2010/03/21/Hyperion-Excel-Add-in-Ribbon.aspx
See this link for the latest binaries and comments:

No, I don't work for these guys. But I do like their product and one certainly can't argue with the price.

• Which TDM Addin for Excel 2007?

I downloaded what I think is the latest TDM add-in for excel 2007. When I go to open my file a message comes up saying that my file has more than 65000 rows. I know the limitation is not in excel 2007. Will the add-in only load 65000 rows of data?

Frank,
So the installation of the addin went smoothly? You did not have to add it in manually like in this KB?
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5885
You may want to check the specs on the trial version of excel 2007 that you have. Did you get this from the web? I don't know if Microsoft would do this, but sometimes the trial software won't have all of the features of the full version. I just installed the addin on my machine with full version of excel 2007 and was able to open a TDM file with a million random numbers stored in it.
A good way to test this would be to just create a spreadsheet file with 100,000 numbers in it, then try to open that in excel just to see if it throws the same error. That would eliminate the possibility of the addin being to blame. If the file opens without error, then you may want to check that the addin was installed correctly by referencing the KB linked above.
Have a great day.

• Excel-2007 cannot connect to Oracle ODBC data source, Control Panel can.

I cannot make an ODBC connection from Exce-2007 to Oracle work. I am an expert Excel and VBA user (since 1994) and I have frequently used Excel to access ODBC databases, including Oracle (I have done this with Excel-2003 both with worksheet queries and have written VBA ADO-connection routines). And even though in Excel-2007 a worksheet ODBC query is supposed to be easier to create than in previous version of Excel, my connection fails. Any suggestions and all help are welcome and much appreciated.
DETAILS

1) What is my system? I am using Excel-2007 on Windows Vista x64 and Oracle server v.11g on my computer (all this is on my computer, no network issues).
2) Why use Excel with Oracle at all? I use Excel-2007 to access Oracle rather than Access-2007 (or any other application like TOAD, etc.) because I do engineering calculations with the data stored in Oracle. These calculations are easier done in Excel (I suppose that one alternative to this could be to use some sql or Access to get the data from the database, then store it as plain vanilla CSV file, then open this file in Excel, then do the math (the math involves complex optimisation algorithms), then save the results as CSV, then use some sql or Access to put the data back into the database. Howwever this does not strike me as a quick or neat solution. And after all Excel has been designed to access ODBC databases, so why not use it?)
3) What do I do in Excel-2007 that won't work? I create an ODBC link to Oracle that does not work. In Excel-2007 this is straightforward:

define an ODBC connection (Data tab --> From other sources --> From data connection wizard);

define a query on the worksheet -- that's it, this is all!

I start with creating an ODBC connection:
a) I choose an ODBC data source type: ODBC DSN
b) Excel-2007 displays the list of the available ODBC data sources. I see in it my Oracle database name and I select it.
c) Excel-2007 displays the Data Link Properties:
- the "Provider" has a list of the OLE DB drivers with preselected "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers". I keep this default selection.
- the "Connection" tab has a connection string "DSN=<my database name>" which I keep, it also has fields for the user name and the password, which I fill with the correct credentials.
- Finally there is a button "Test Connection", which when I click produces the following error message:
"Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider.
Unespecified error"

4) Additional food for thought:
a) In the above walk-through the only data, which I type, are the user name and password, everything else is selected from lists offered by Excel-2007, hence any possibility of typos being the cause of the problem can safely be discarded.
b) I can test the ODBC driver in the Control Panel and it shows that it can connect to the Oracle database:
- in Control Panel --> Admin Tools --> Data Sources (ODBC) on the "User DSN" tab I can see the list of the available ODBC data sources (same list as in Excel-2007, point 3b above) with the name of my database in it;
- selecting the name of my database from the list of the sources and clicking "Configure" button opens a tab with Data Source Name (same as in Excel-2007), TNS Service Name and User ID. I enter <user name>/<password> and click "Test Connection" button. A message "Connection successful" appears (just for a test I enter incorrect user credentials and "Unable to connect" message appears)
BOTTOM LINE

The procedure for using an ODBC connection from Excel is very simple, in the past I have created and used such connections numerous times with Excel-2003 and earlier on Win-XP and earlier. But now on Excel-2007 and Vista-x64 I cannot make it work.
Also, testing an ODBC connection driver is really easy and simple to be done in the Control Panel. There testing the same ODBC connection, which fails in Excel-2007, results in success.
I am frustrated by the simplicity of the problem and yet the persistant error. I have lost now two full days in failed attempts to make the simple procedure work and in searching the internet for answers.
All help is highly appreciated ,

Did you find the solution to your problem?
If not, I think I may know.
Excel 2007 is a 32-bit application.
When installing 32-bit applications in a 64-bit environment, the "default" location is:
C:\Program files (x86)\...
Excel then launches from this location.
However, when it connects to Oracle and passes the name of the calling program, Oracle attempts to "interpret" the value of (x86) as if
the value within the parenthesis are being passed as a reference. Of course, iOracle doesn't find anything, so the result is (),
and then it cannot return the connection info back to the calling application.
I corrected it by installing Excel in C:\Program Files\, and once launched from that location, it works the same as on the 32-bit machines.
However, at my location, they are FORCING Excel to be installed in the(x86) location.
What I'm trying to discover now is:
Is it possible to flag Oracle to NOT process the embedded variables?
Or, is it possible to assign a variable in Oracle such that x86 = "(x86)", so that the end result is viable?
Have you had any luck with your installation?
thanks,
Paul
