Exception Handling in JDBC Receiver

Hi,
  We have  a scenario WS to JDBC synchronous. If we inserting the same value we got the unique
  constraint error in sxmb_moni level.But the WS response contains delivery exception error. But we
  need the Actual error in the response.
  How can get this?
  Any suggestions..
Regards,
Prakasu

hi gabriel,
  I think serializable use for sending data to the DB in a serialized queue.
  AutoCommit used for when the data is inserted or updated in a Database it will commit the records.
  Disconnect from database used for when our transactions over the chennel disconnect to the database.
  But for my reuirement is when we inserted the same record or some varations in the record(like if DB have
  the field (number) But we passed the value in Char) that time DB send a Application error response to the
  XI server.
  We are using WS to JDBC.
  The error we can see in sxmb_moni.But the response of WS have simply "Delivery Exception system
  error". So with out seeing the sxmb_Moni message we dont know the exact error.So we need the
  "DB Application error" response in the WS response.
Thanks and Regards,
Prakasu

  • Error handling at JDBC Receiver

    Hi,
    I am currently working on PI 7.31. This is regarding proxy to JDBC scenario using insert statement in the JDBC receiver. I would like to know is there any feature in JDBC receiver which allows the process to continue even after any data error in the insert statement by skipping the error records and finally collecting all error records and sending through alert configuration to the administrator. Currently process stops whenever any error happens in insert statement at JDBC receiver.
    Regards,
    Rama.

    Hello,
    I would suggest you to go with SP.
    By default, PI will handle the transaction and in case of any errors it will rollback the entire statement. So u can allow SP to handle the transactions by asking ur DB team to create a SP with a try/catch statement and in case of any errors while performing DML operations catch those exceptions and log those erroneous records in some exception log table and continue the SQL process.
    Eventually, either using SQL mailer or some windows services u can send a consolidated mail to the stakeholders. Just check with ur DB team since these are very normal stuff so i am quite sure ur DB admin would certainly help u on the same.
    Thanks

  • How to handle the jdbc receiver error

    hi,expert:
      I have a synchornous scenario:SAP/ECC(Proxy) to JDBC(SQLServer),ECC Send the message and insert data into the  database,when insert sucessfully the receiver returns the count of the sucessfull inserted  record . Not use store    procedure.
    I have a problem: When insert into the table occurs errors,like insert Duplicated record,how can i capture this exception and return  to the ECC? And if it is possible to solve this problem by using fault message?
         wait for reply ,thanks!

    Have you identified why duplicate record error coming?? you dont want to insert duplicate records in DB?? then in this case you contraol sending data in Proxy it self,
    If you want response (error message or success status from Data base you can design/develop easily, JDBC recv will support syn communication.
    even you can go for fault message type to handle this error,

  • BPM Question: JDBC Sender to RFC to JDBC Receiver

    I have the following requirement:
    JDBC Sender Adapter (by nature Asynchronous) – SELECT multiple rows from a table
    To…
    RFC Receiver Adapter (Synchronous)
    To…
    JDBC Receiver Adapter (Synchronous) – UPDATE multiple rows in a table
    Then…
    IF <SAP:Error> XML is returned from the JDBC Receiver Adapter, I want to either issue a CCMS alert, or utilize the XI Email Adapter for error notification.
    ELSE, if <root_response> XML is returned from the JDBC Receiver Adapter, do nothing.
    This obviously requires a BPM.  If I use the JDBC Receiver Adapter Asynchronously (with no error handling) this is a piece of cake.  But after trying to use it synchronously along with error handling logic, I am stuck.
    This issue that I am facing is how to logically handle the JDBC Receiver Adapter Response XML in the BPM.  I would like to know what I need to do in the BPM in order to issue a CCMS alert (and/or send a message through the XI Email Adapter) ONLY if the <SAP:Error> XML is returned.
    Below are examples of the 2 types of response messages that I would receive back from the JDBC Receiver:
    Error:

    I have searched SDN for a while but did not find anything that specifically addressed this.  I would appreciate any help…

    Hi,
    In ur BPM wrap the jdbc send step with a exception block. in the exception block define a control step to throw an alert.
    so when the jdbc step fails, the exception is caught and an alert is generated by the control step.

  • Cache Synchronization Exception Handling

    I am setting up cache synchronization on WebLogic using JMS. I am looking into writing an exception handler to handle cache synchronization exceptions. The following statement in the documentation caught my attention:
    “As mentioned above, the TopLink cache does not begin the merge or update process until the database transaction has already been committed. This is quite beneficial in that it avoids letting uncommitted data into the shared cache, but should be recognized where transactional synchronization is considered. In cases where a merge may have failed there is no way to roll back the changes made to the database (although it is questionable whether this would be a good idea in any case). As a consequence, failures during remote merging can leave the cache in an inconsistent state. This makes it important to handle any errors that occur by performing cache normalization actions, such as resetting the cache, or even the server.”
    Suppose we have two app server instances, A and B. Instance A commits a change and sends the update notification to instance B. The merge fails on instance B with an optimistic lock exception.
    - I assume that a CacheSynchronizationException will be thrown. Will it be thrown on instance A, B, or both?
    - At this point which cache is inconsistent; A, B, or both?
    - The documentation suggests resetting the cache, but this seems a rather severe way of dealing with the problem. Is it feasible / effective to just refresh the objects in the change set of the CacheSynchronizationException?
    This is a simple exception handler. On receiving a CacheSynchronizationException it resets the cache and re-throws the exception.
    class ToplinkExceptionHandler implements ExceptionHandler{
         public Object handleException(RuntimeException exception) throws DatabaseException{
              if(exception instanceof CacheSynchronizationException){){
                   myServerSession.initializeAllIdentityMaps();
                   throw exception;
              }else{
                   throw exception;
    - Is this approach effective?
    - Once the cache is reset should the exception be re-thrown or should I consider it handled and swallow it? If I do swallow it what should the method return?
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    I had to fix a few errors (in our code) before getting it working. Since I have multiple sessions, I had to specify different multicast ports (actually I used a different multicast address itself) for each of the sessions. I was not setting the announcement delay on one of the sesssions and that was why it was announcing immediately upon coming up. Also I had to explicitly set asynchronous to false because it is true by default.
    BTW, we are not using CMP (entity beans) rather Java Objects. Our deployment has two Apache/Tomcat machines and two WebLogic machines. The WebLogic servers are in a round-robin cluster. The cache synchronization seems to be working fine for this configuration.
    Thanks.

  • RFC JDBC Exception Handling

    Hello,
    still my problem is the exception handling of the synchronous JDBC - call.
    If an error occurs I get the error "no payload found" in sxmb_moni_bpe

    In sxmb_moni i get the following Error:

  • Transaction Handling - JDBC Receiver Adapter - Multiple SP Calls

    Hello,
    I have the following scenario:
    I send an XML-SQL structure with multiple statment elements (each of them calling a different stored procedure). A stored procedure raises an error back to the JDBC Receiver Adapter in case of error.
    Is it possible to have transaction handling in the JDBC Receiver to ensure:
    - Commit only after ALL stored procedures where succesful (no error risen during calls)
    - Rollback of ALL already called stored procedures in case an error has been risen
    How can I implement these requirements in the JDBC Receiver Adapter?

    One more comment, I have found the following info for JDBC Drivers:
    <i> "JDBC driver's default is to autocommit, meaning that the result of every SQL statement is permanent as soon as it is executed. This is why the course hasn't had to be concerned with transactions so far, and is perfectly acceptable in many cases."</i>
    So I think that each SP-Call is automatically commited in case autocommit on JDBC Driver Level is set to "true". Does anyone know where I can change these settings? Directly on JDBC Receiver Adapter or do I have to go to Visual Admin for those changes?

  • How to handle fieldnames ending with # in JDBC receiver?

    Hello Experts,
      I am developing a scenario JDBC to IDOC. I have 2 tables for  header & line item. I have to retrieve a header record first using sender JDBC & then for that header need to fetch the corresponding lineitems from second table.
        We cannot have data types defined in XI with fieldnames containing # or any other special charecter. Both DB tables contain fieldnames ending with #.
      For Sender JDBC, I managed it in SQL query using :
        Select abc, xyz# as xyz .... from tbname
    But for receiver JDBC we need to define a data type with the typical format ( Doccument format required for JDBC receiver).
    Please let me know how to handle this for JDBC receiver.
    Thanks in Advance & hope for a quick replies.
    Abhijeet.

    Hi Abhijeet,
    If you can write a query with join( you can call join query using JDBC adapter), i think this would be a fastest way and good approch rather than having 2 JDBC call.
    Another approch would be writing SP( stored procedure and then you can have your complete logic here). You can call SP using JDBC adapter.
    Eventhough query would be complex...it will be one time job.:)...I am not sure about data type for handling field names with special characters.
    Let me know if you need more details.

  • Handling Fault Messages for JDBC Receiver (Syn Inbound)

    Dear Freinds,
    Can we handle fault messages for JDBC Receiver which is synchronous.
    OB Proxy Syn  <>  IB JDBC Syn
    1. How to handle the same ? Please give some examples.
    2. Should we use Stored Procedures at Oracle side to handle the fault messages and send back as response to the Proxy Response. Will it work.
    Thanks & Regards
    K.Ramesh

    Dear Friend,
    I have 2 interfaces where Proxy is OB & JDBC is IB. In the first interface both sender and Receiver are synchronous and in the second one it is Async.
    In the first interface i have to send one field from R/3 table along with Native SQL query string to XI and the response of the SELECT query is sent back to the sender.
    Assume if no fields are selected based on the field sent then proper error message has to be sent instead of the response message.
    In the second interface i will be using UPDATE query at Asyn JDBC receiver.
    How to do this if you are having JDBC Receiver.
    I saw in many blogs where they had mentioned that we cannot handle fault messages in the Receiver JDBC.
    KIindly explain.
    Thanks
    K.Ramesh

  • Jdbc receiver: SQL Exception

    Hi all,
    We got the below system error in jdbc receiver scenario:
    Unable to execute statement for table or stored procedure. 'xxx_001' (Structure 'Statement') due to java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC][SQLServer]Invalid object name 'systm.MasterTracking'
    What can be the possible reason and solution?
    Thanks,
    Durga

    Hi,
    Make sure that you are passing the Correct Table name according to the Database Table name. This is case sensitive.And also abt the Field names
    Every thing we have to take care abt case sensitice in JDBC adapter.

  • JDBC Receiver : Handling NULL return from SELECT query

    Hi All,
    I have a Proxy <-> XI <-> JDBC synchronous scenario. I have designed my message mapping to perform a select query using JDBC receiver adapter. The request message mapping structure at the JDBC end is as follows.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:MT_Matmvmt_Jdbc_Request xmlns:ns0="http://esag.com/xi/bat/MatMovementRead">
       <StatementSelect>
          <Tablename action="SELECT">
             <Table>MM_DATA</Table>
             <access>
                <SEQNO/>
                <MATERIAL/>
                <UOM/>
                <SOLDQTY/>
                <SAPUPD/>
             </access>
             <key compareOperation="EQ">
                <SAPUPD>N</SAPUPD>
             </key>
          </Tablename>
       </StatementSelect>
    </ns0:MT_Matmvmt_Jdbc_Request>
    The scenario works fine when there are records matching the select condition, but when there are no records matching the select condition (i.e. if there are no record with value SAPUPD = 'N' ) then my response message is returning the empty message strucuture as given below.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:MT_Matmvmt_Jdbc_Request_response xmlns:ns0="http://esag.com/xi/bat/MatMovementRead">
       <StatementSelect_response/>
    </ns0:MT_Matmvmt_Jdbc_Request_response>
    My requirement is that if there are no records matching the select condition then my response message should look like below.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:MT_Matmvmt_Jdbc_Request_response xmlns:ns0="http://esag.com/xi/bat/MatMovementRead">
       <StatementSelect_response>
          <row>
             <SEQNO/>
             <MATERIAL/>
             <UOM/>
             <SOLDQTY/>
             <SAPUPD/>
          </row>
       </StatementSelect_response>
    </ns0:MT_Matmvmt_Jdbc_Request_response>
    Note : I have made the occurence of the request and response message elements as miniccurs = 0 and maxoccurs = 1.
    Any inputs in this regard will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sandeep

    Hi Sandeep,
    you can not expect structure like <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:MT_Matmvmt_Jdbc_Request_response xmlns:ns0="http://esag.com/xi/bat/MatMovementRead">
       <StatementSelect_response>
          <row>
             <SEQNO/>
             <MATERIAL/>
             <UOM/>
             <SOLDQTY/>
             <SAPUPD/>
          </row>
       </StatementSelect_response>
    </ns0:MT_Matmvmt_Jdbc_Request_response>
       if there is no data in table. The response which you are geting is standard format which you can not change. Instead you map this response with mapwithdefault node function while mapping to target to make the response mapping success, even though there is no data in response message.
    thanks,
    madhu

  • ADF Faces: Exception Handler activity ain't reraised

    Hi there!
    I'm using a Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0 (Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660).
    I've done this:
    1. created a bounded task flow flow1 and added to it:
    1.1 a vew activity view1 (the default activity) - shows an inputText field for a db column, for which there is a constraint;
    1.2 a method call activity method1 - calls commit;
    1.3 a view activity view2 - has an ouputText depicting an attribute's value for the same collection as that of inputText in view1;
    1.4 a view activity errorView (marked as an exception handler) - displays a localizedMessage from the currentViewPort;
    1.5 created for the view activities page fragments (with necessary fields and buttons).
    2. linked them as follows:
    2.1 view1 -*-> method1 -*-> view2;
    2.2 errorView -*-> view1.
    3. in the default unbounded task flow created a view activity main, a page file for it, and dropped onto the latter the flow1 as a region;
    4. launched the app (as the table contains some data, the view1 displays first row in a row set);
    5. entered into the view1 's field a non-violating value;
    6. pressed a button (which has just an action property set to move to the method1 ) - everything's fine, we get to the view2;
    6. rerun the app;
    7. entered incorrect value, pressed the button - flow goes, as expected, to the errorView, which informs us the exception's details (JBO-...);
    8. on the errorView page fragment pressed a button - we are now on the view1 page again;
    9. left the wrong (violating) value (or changed it to another incorrect value, doesn't matter) and pressed the button again;
    10. wow, we reached the view2, but, I guess, we hadn't to. Why so?
    One must note, that in clauses 7 and 9, after pressing the button, there apears a popup, which advises us about an ORA-... error, that is, in step 9 the ADF Faces does receive the exception, but why it doesn't reraise the errorView, that's the question.
    Though, when I change the method1 so, that it calls a bean's method, which always throws an IllegalArgumentException, then everything works as should to - we get to the infinite loop - view1 -> method1 -> errorView -> view1.
    Or, when I extract view2 from flow1, and instead of the former insert return activity with End Transaction set to commit, and then wrap (i.e call) flow1 from a newly created bounded task flow flow2, and in main 's page replace flow1 with flow2 region, the result is quite different. The aforesaid popup with ORA- error arises, until one enters a non-violating value. That is in this case everything is good, except, that control never flows into the errorView.
    And there is one more thing to note yet. When I've, namely method1, been calling a bean with the ever exception throwing method, the Integrated WLS's log was silent, but when the method1 was calling commit, then in the log we can see this twice:
    <Utils><buildFacesMessage> ADF: Adding the following JSF error message: ORA-02290: check constraint CHECK(THE_USER.THE_CONSTRAINT) violated

    Yerzhan.

    Hi there!
    I'm using a Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0 (Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660).
    I've done this:
    1. created a bounded task flow flow1 and added to it:
    1.1 a vew activity view1 (the default activity) - shows an inputText field for a db column, for which there is a constraint;
    1.2 a method call activity method1 - calls commit;
    1.3 a view activity view2 - has an ouputText depicting an attribute's value for the same collection as that of inputText in view1;
    1.4 a view activity errorView (marked as an exception handler) - displays a localizedMessage from the currentViewPort;
    1.5 created for the view activities page fragments (with necessary fields and buttons).
    2. linked them as follows:
    2.1 view1 -*-> method1 -*-> view2;
    2.2 errorView -*-> view1.
    3. in the default unbounded task flow created a view activity main, a page file for it, and dropped onto the latter the flow1 as a region;
    4. launched the app (as the table contains some data, the view1 displays first row in a row set);
    5. entered into the view1 's field a non-violating value;
    6. pressed a button (which has just an action property set to move to the method1 ) - everything's fine, we get to the view2;
    6. rerun the app;
    7. entered incorrect value, pressed the button - flow goes, as expected, to the errorView, which informs us the exception's details (JBO-...);
    8. on the errorView page fragment pressed a button - we are now on the view1 page again;
    9. left the wrong (violating) value (or changed it to another incorrect value, doesn't matter) and pressed the button again;
    10. wow, we reached the view2, but, I guess, we hadn't to.

  • ESB Invokation failed "exception on JaxRpc invoke: received empty response"

    I have a async bpel-process invoking an esb-routing-service whicht routes to an db-adapter-service for executing a select statement running about 2 minutes.
    Sometimes this invoke of the esb-service failes with this fault:
    <fault>
      <remoteFault xmlns="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension">
      <part name="summary">
        <summary>exception on JaxRpc invoke: received empty response</summary>
      </part>
      </remoteFault>
    </fault>If i look inside the esb-console the instance completes successfully.
    Then i look at the logfile /opt/oracle/soa/as_1/j2ee/home/log/home_default_group_1/oc4j/log.xml and see this errormessages:

                <table>PRADEEP_OTC_ORDERS</table>
              <access>
                     <order_id>19126</order_id>
                     <version>1</version>
                     <batch_id>132</batch_id>
                </access>
           </dbtablename>
    </statement>
    </ns0:mt_sql_writer>
    PRADEEP_OTC_ORDERS table has just 3 columns as specified the access segment. However I stil get this ORA-00904 error message.
    Any idea on what could be wrong.?
    Thanks

    Hi All,
    Thanks a lot for responding...
    I verified the table structure, table just contains those 3 coulms all varchar type.
    I modified the column name as well, But was still getting ORA-00904. Then I went directly to the the database and executed below insert statement,
    insert into PRADEEP_OTC_ORDERS (mps_order_id, mps_version,mps_batch_id) Values(1,2,3)
    I got exact SQL Error: ORA-00904: "MPS_BATCH_ID": invalid identifier.
    So ISAP JDBC adapter is not enclosing the string values in quotes.
    SAP documentation says it puts quotes for values and treats everything as string(text).
    Anybody has any idea, why JDBC receiver adapter not enclosing the values in quotes?
    Thanks

  • JDBC Receiver Adapter Error

    Hi All,
    I am executing SP by using JDBC Receiver Adapter.
    My strcture is follows
    <STATEMENT2>
    <SP_CREATE_T_BATCH action="EXECUTE">
    <spName type="VARCHAR">SP_CREATE_T_BATCH</spName>
    <IN_Control_Recipe hasQuot="No" type="Integer">100000000001723850</IN_Control_Recipe>
    </SP_CREATE_T_BATCH>
    </STATEMENT2>
    The below error I am getting
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'SP_CREATE_T_BATCH' (structure 'STATEMENT2'): java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "100000000001723850"
    Any help on this

    Hi Ram,
    Since you mentioned that your SP has one input parameter and one output parameter, the structure of the XML message at the JDBC receiver side should be:
    <STATEMENT2>
    <SP_CREATE_T_BATCH action="EXECUTE">
    <IN_Control_Recipe isInput="true" hasQuot="No" type="BIGINT">100000000001723850</IN_Control_Recipe>
    <Output_Parameter isOutput="true" type="SQLDataType"></Output_Parameter>
    </SP_CREATE_T_BATCH>
    </STATEMENT2>
    Here, i have assumed the following:
    SP_CREATE_T_BATCH   - The name of the Stored Procedure to be executed
    IN_Control_Recipe - Input parameter of the SP and its SQLDataType is BIGINT as suggested by Stefan.
    Output_Parameter - Output parameter of the SP. You may enter the SQL data type as per the output of your Stored Procedure.
    The following SQL data types are supported:
    INTEGER, BIT, TINYINT, SMALLINT, BIGINT, FLOAT, REAL, DOUBLE, NUMERIC, DECIMAL, CHAR, VARCHAR, STRING, LONGVARCHAR, DATE, TIME, TIMESTAMP, BINARY, VARBINARY, LONGVARBINARY, BLOB (input and output),CLOB (input and output), CURSOR (output; only in conjunction with the Oracle JDBC driver).
    Hope this will surely solve your problem.
    Regards, Gaurav.
