Exception ID is not found in the trace logs

Hi,
We are intermittently seeing the below error exception message appear at the top of the Portal.  It was a lot more prevalent during our benefits open enrollment period Nov 1 through Nov 30.  It happened almost every day during that time.  Now it is happening intermittently.  The exception ID is never found in any trace or log files anywhere under the SAP directory.  The only way to clear it is to bounce the portal.
The exception error message:
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/defaultDesktop/frameworkPages/frameworkpage/com.sap.portal.toolAreaiView
Component Name : com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.default
The exception was logged. Inform your system administrator..

  Portal Runtime Error
When you do a text search for 19024350 in all files under the SAP directory nothing is found.
Does anyone have any ideas on this?  I have an open OSS, but without finding the exception ID in the logs, it is virtually impossible to resolve.

Hi Rick,
I had this several times. Please stop the J2EE delete (backup if you want) all default.trc files from the log directory and the start the J2EE.
Upon start, the default.trc files will be newly created and you will be able to find all exceptions created after this new start.
My personal explanation to this behaviour is this: At certain circumstances (many large .trc files in the log directory) the logger does not properly write all exceptions to the log file... After removing the log files, the logger works fine again..
