running standalone requires an environment variable CATALINA_HOME and the path $CATALINA_HOME/bin for startup. maybe eclipse doesn't do it for you but you might check out the tomcat site

It looks like an error at Tomcat startup:
Do you need any Portlet library jar files in your web app?
However I would suggest that you would have more luck at the other end of a google search on the error message.

</wsdl:definitions>I think you are asking this question not only on the wrong section but also on the wrong website.
The error you are refering to is a Axis2 specific exception, you might get the best answer by posting your question to the Axis2 mailing list:
http://axis.apache.org/axis2/java/core/mail-lists.html
BTW your exception "java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: TODO"
=> looks like you have some comment left over in your Web-Service invokation. Actually your WSDL has no Method "TODO" so where should this call route to? I guess you should debug your code that invokes the call. Is there really a method TODO.
I am also a bit confused with "Client Side WSDL" actually only the server does create a WSDL file, client only reads it (maybe you have some code generator that uses the WSDL to generate some code .. but the client has no WSDL).
Further you should post a complete working example that can be run by somebody else, espacially with such a specific problem. Otherwise I am afraid hardly anybody will push you to the right direction.

Hi,
My webservice is

Truncated. see log file for complete stacktraceDid you read this part there:
There is a second possible issue that is specific to the commons-logging and related libraries when used with Integrated WLS and the configuration (which includes ADF) out-of-the-box. Because the commons-logging.jar is apparently in the system classpath, due to the way Java classloader delegation works, any log4j classes at the web application level are not visible to the logger factory by default. As long as this is the case, you may need to add the following to your web-application's WEB-INF/weblogic.xml:
<container-descriptor>
<prefer-web-inf-classes>true</prefer-web-inf-classes>
</container-descriptor>
What this does is tell the WLS JSP servlet to let web application classes override classes found in the system classloader. Standard Java classloader delegation gives the highest priority to the system classes. -
Apache web server/jakarta tomcat
Hey guys!
here's the fact, i installed jakarta-tomcat and apache web server, but i don't know how to integrate them, i mean, I just want to have one http server with the functionality to use servlets. Do I need only jakarta tomcat to have this?, please help me.
and forgive my very poor english! :)Hallo.
Create or edit the file %APACHE_HOME%/conf/worker.properties
worker.list=ajp13
worker.ajp13.port=8009
worker.ajp13.host=localhost
worker.ajp13.type=ajp13
Edit the file %APACHE_HOME%/conf/httpd.conf
LoadModule jk_module modules/mod_jk.dll
AddModule mod_jk.c
JkWorkersFile "%APACHE_HOME%/conf/worker.properties"
JkLogFile "APACHE_HOME%/logs/mod_jk.log"
JkLogLevel debug
Alias /myWebApp "%TOMCAT_HOME%/webapps/myWebApp"
JkMount /myWebApp/*.jsp testWorker
Check the file mod_jk.dll in the folder %APACHE_HOME%/modules/. Howevere there are different libraries for different versions of Apache Web Aerver and Tomcat.
Edit the file %TOMCAT_HOME%/conf/server.xml
<Connector className="org.apache.coyote.tomcat4.CoyoteConnector"
port="8009" minProcessors="5" maxProcessors="75"
enableLookups="true" redirectPort="8443"
acceptCount="10" debug="0" connectionTimeout="20000"
useURIValidationHack="false"
protocolHandlerClassName="org.apache.jk.server.JkCoyoteHandler"/>

Installing Tomcat connector for Apache
I realize this is more of a Linux configuration issue but it does deal with Tomcat so I am hoping someone can help.
I am having some problems installing the tomcat connector for Apache web server on Linux (Red Hat enterprise).
I need to have both Apache (by which I mean Apache Web Server) and Tomcat running on this system and it is my understanding that one can use the tomcat connector as an Apache module to connect from Apache to Tomcat for jsp requests.
Okay so here is what has been done.
Tomcat is installed and running fine (on port 8080)
Apache is running fine.
I followed this guide http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/howto/quick.html
And I created all the config files etc but when it comes to finding the mysterious mod_jk.so file I am stuck. I went to the downloads area and end up in the following directory/page http://apache.mirrors.northco.net/tomcat/tomcat-connectors/jk/binaries/linux/jk-1.2.14/
I don't see a mod_jk.so file in there. (?!?) So... I poked around some more but I feel I am looking at the right directory so I downloaded the worker.so file and put that in my apache modules directory. I renamed it as mod_sk.so (now please bear in mind that I am not too dumb and I realize that renaming a file isn''t doing anything magical but due to lack of any documentation describing why there are two different files I took a guess and thought that maybe the different files are different threading setups or something (considering the other one is named prefork to me this seemed to be a logical conclusion based on the information given))
And of course it doesn't work. By which I mean the following happens if I run configtest for apache (if I try to start Apache same disaster)
# /sbin/service httpd configtest
Syntax error on line 3 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/tomcat_connector.conf:
Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/mod_jk.so into
server: /etc/httpd/modules/mod_jk.so: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directoryOkay... Except a file with that name (see above) IS in that directory. And it has the same permissions as the other modules which are loading.
(After moving to the modules directory)
# dir
libphp4.so mod_cache.so mod_imap.so mod_proxy_http.so
mod_access.so mod_cern_meta.so mod_include.so mod_proxy.so
mod_actions.so mod_cgi.so mod_info.so mod_python.so
mod_alias.so mod_dav_fs.so mod_jk.so mod_rewrite.so
[more stuff that loads here but edited for length]So I think something else has gone wrong here... namely that I have the wrong file or something.
Anyway I am a bit stuck at this point. Could someone point me in the right direction please because I am just going in circles at this point with the documentation not matching up to what files are available or explaining what those files in fact actually are.I solved this issue by compiling the file from source. I got hold of another admin friend who told me that the version I had was for 64 bit. Now how I was supposed to discover this or where in fact a compiled version of this file is on the apache site I know not.
But it's working now. -

JDK 1.4 comes with a version of Xalan...
Somewhere around 1.4.2_03 the Xalan version that shipped with the JDK was upgraded because the XSLT spec was completed/revised or something like that.. When this happend the namespace identifier for xalan custom 'tags' changed. The content-handler tag used to be in the xslt name space.. now it is in the xalan namespace.
Problem is many stylesheets don't specifically set the output format so the defaults are used and the values are initialized from a properties file. However.... and this is where the problems comes in...
The Namespaces are used as prefixes to the keys in the file... AND... Tomcat''s WebappClassLoader is not safe about ensuring that a resource is loaded from the same Jar file as the classes that use it....
So what is happening is... the Xalan from your JVM is being used... but it is loading the formatting properties from a Xalan that is included in your Webapp.... which of course don't match....
All you need to do is remove the xalanXXX.jar from WEB-INF/lib and this problem will go away...

Org.apache.naming.java.javaURLContextFactory error
Hi,
I have an application which works perfectly fine in TOMCAT 5.0,.
But when I deploy this application on JBOSS 4.0.1 and try to run the application,
it gives following error,.
javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Cannot insta
ntiate class: org.apache.naming.java.javaURLContextFactory [Root exception is ja
va.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.naming.java.javaURLContextFactory]
When i checked one of my source code file it had a reference
System.setProperty(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT, org.apache.naming.java.javaURLContextFactory)
So is it that TOMCAT 5.0 finds the class for javaURLContextFactory in some jar file and
JBoss does not and that is why this error is occuring? If yes does any body have a solution. If no what is the cause of the error and how can it be solved.
Thank you in advance
