Exception not raised

heloo...
i had 1 procedure for inserting value. when i call that procedure it doesnot raise exception evenif there is error.
any one can help me out ...........................

>>Passing that many parameters across is looking for problems. It is very easy to
transpose parameters when there are more than 3 or 4 parameters. This proc has 14.Can you explain this sir in detail
When a programmer needs to call you stored proc with 14 parameters, he must be very careful in placing his variables and values in the right sequence to ensure that the right variable/value is passed to the right parameter.
A good programmer will not take a chance and code 14+ lines of code for this procedure call, e.g.
begin
... code ..
SPINSERTATTRIBUTE(
AttributeId => var1,
Name => var2,
Label => var3,
Description => var4,
Category => var5,
Datatype => var6,
MinValue => var7,
MaxValue=> var8,
DefaultValue => var9,
AllowNull => var10,
Enumeration => var11,
Len => var12,
Scale => var13,
Values=> var14,
Result => var15
.. code...
end;Now this is a lot of code to write. Easy to get the sequence wrong. A not-so-good programmer will be lazy and will instead code this - which is even more dangerous as it is a lot easier to get the parameter sequence wrong:
begin
..code..
SPINSERTATTRIBUTE( var1, var2, var3, var5, var6, var8, var7, var9, var10, var11, var12, var13, var14 );
.. code..
end;Do not make it complex and difficult for others (and yourself) to call a procedure/function.method that you have written.
> Is there possible to pass any number of argument while calling the procedure with
argument type as %rowtype?
Do not understand the question... A procedure can in theory contain unlimited parameters (there could be some pratical limitations in PL/SQL though).
%ROWTYPE is no different that a C struct definition or a Pascal/Delphi record definition.
%ROWTYPE is a special definition that tells the PL/SQL engine that the variable is a record structure that matches the layout of a specific SQL table.
It is easy to use as the definition of the structure is defined once - it is the definition of the SQL table. If the DBA adds a column or drops a column, your record structure definition in PL/SQL does not need to be manually changed.
Typically a caller will call the sample stored procedure InsertAttribute I wrote as follows:
attrRow attributes%ROWTYPE;
begin
-- create a new attribute
attrRow.Name := 'SHIPPING COSTS';
attrRow.Datatype := 'NUMBER';
.. etc..
InsertAttribute( attrRow );
.. code ..
end;

    Hello,
    I am getting the following error in sending IDOC to SAP via WCF-SAP adapter in BizTalk Server 2009. I have the SOAP header in the adapter mentioned below. Also, wondering what is the convension for Action URL? Is it always "http://Microsoft.LobServices.Sap/2007/03/Rfc/"
    + Operation name mentioned in the Orchestration? I would appreciate if anyone could help me resolve this error.
    The adapter failed to transmit message going to send port "SendReceive_PO_IDOC_TO_SAP" with URL "sap://CLIENT=111;LANG=EN;@a/123.456.789.101/00?GWHOST=123.456.789.101&GWSERV=sapgw00&ListenerProgramId=ABCDEF111&RfcSdkTrace=False&AbapDebug=False".

    Hello Morten,
    The Send is actually just the name of the operation in Orchestration and it does not exist in SAP. Hence, do I really need to have the SOAP header in WCF-SAP adapter or can I send the IDOC without any SOAP header info? When I try to send without

  • Connection refused is not raising an exception

    Hi, I am having problems getting my code to recognise that a url refuses a connection, eg "http://tigers.com.au".
    Opening the url in a browser correctly shows that a connection is refused.
    However, in Java (1.6_07) code as below, no exception is raised, and the response code is 200 OK.
    Even though no exception is raised, the content that is returned by the InputStream is actually from somewhere else (my local development server), so it seems that the connection is not actually successful.
    The code works fine for other urls that does accept a connection, eg it works fine for "http://www.tigers.com.au".
    Why is my code not raising an exception for cases where the url refuses a connection? Or is there a bug in Java?
    Grateful for any help.
              BufferedReader in = null;
              String s=null;
              HttpURLConnection urlCon = null;
              URL url = null;
              try {
                   url = new URL("http://tigers.com.au");
                   urlCon = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
                   urlCon.connect();
                   System.out.println("urlCon after connect: "+urlCon.getURL());
                         System.out.println("Response code: ["+urlCon.getResponseCode()+"] "+urlCon.getResponseMessage());
                   in = new BufferedReader( new InputStreamReader(urlCon.getInputStream()));
                   while ( (s=in.readLine()) != null) {
                        System.out.println("s: "+s);
              catch (Exception e) {
                   System.out.println("Exception: "+e);
              }

    Have found that wildcard addresses matches any address of the local system, and that in IPv4, the wildcard address is 0.0.0.0. Can check for this with InetAddress.isAnyLocalAddress().
    This means that I could potentially handle these cases by adding code to "ping" a host such as "tigers.com.au" using
    InetAddress address = InetAddress.getByName(name);
    if (InetAddress.isAnyLocalAddress() {
    .... do something, eg raise exception
    }But this is not fully satisfactory, as I would rather know that a "connection refused" exception is raised, which is actually the case with "tigers.com.au" (as all the browsers seem able to detect). I am not entirely sure what the relationship is between a site that has "connection refused" and it returning an ip address of 0.0.0.0. I don't think they are synonymous.
    Any thoughts?

  • FOR LOOP EXCEPTION not working !!! please help

    Hi,
    Why is the NO_DATA_FOUND execption not getting executed. ????
    Hereis the code....
    CURSOR newreccur IS
    SELECT * from emp_table;
    BEGIN
    v_file_handle := UTL_FILE.FOPEN('out','new.dat','W');
    BEGIN
    FOR emp_rec IN newreccur LOOP
    -- Write procurement records
    UTL_FILE.PUT(v_file_handle,'emp_rec.num');
    END LOOP;
    EXCEPTION WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
    dbms_output.put_line ('No data found ')
    END;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN UTL_FILE.INVALID_PATH
    THEN
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ( 'Invalid Path ' || TO_CHAR (SQLCODE) );
    UTL_FILE.FCLOSE_ALL;
    END;

    cursor for loops do not raise no_DatA_found - they simply stop looping when they run out of data. you can set a variable within the loop, and then check it after the loop if you need to know if data was returned or not.

    Hey,
    I doubt this stack trace is gonna be much help to anyone.
    Are you performing any clean up operations when you close your dialog.?
    You may well be, at any point in the dialog's life time, setting some field or value of a default Swing class to null. Or inadvertently passing a variable that evaluates to null, although it may not appear to you that it is in fact null.
    I fear you will have to start from the beginning of your code and analyse all the setXxxx() methods you call and be sure you are not in one-way-or-another passing any null values.
    For some methods null parameters maybe legal. However if that value is retreived by some other class and used but can not handle null values it will throw the exception.
    Imagine you set a JTable to use a grid of values litered with null values. It may not complain (I dont actually know). But if you have some logic that cannot handle null yet uses any arbitrary table value, at some point it will break.
    The best thing I could say is check what data is going in and out of you JTree. Also, you can examine the source code.
    If you can, post your dialog with any supporting data so that it can be run via a main method.
    Good luck,
    Darren

  • Should not raise no data found error

    Hi Experts,
    I am using select into statement in procedure and put some condition in select statement.
    I want if condition failed then it sould put null in to target variable . It should not raise no data found error
    e.g

    if this select statement no give any record it should put null into v_abc and not raise no data found error
    pls suggest something

    You could do...

    I would do this... (if I really didn't want the no_data_found exception)
    SQL> ed

    Hi,
    You should run you query in sql workshop with the expected values (which are set after user clicks Save or Apply changes button) for P10_CR_BOM_CODE and P10_CR_ID.
    Also, please have an exception block in the process to catch any exception and make an appropriate Insert into some user defined error-log table. It would be better to log the P10_CR_BOM_CODE and P10_CR_ID values in case of exception.
    These might help you to figure out the cause of exception.

  • Error in JMS Communication Channel not raising alert

    Processing Errors in JMS Communication Channel are not raising alerts.
    The settings on the communication channel retires are set at 3 and 5min interval.
    In RWB the JMS communication channel shows processing errors but an alert is not raised.
    The alert are configured in our system and we even have a catch all alert rule with * (wildcard). Errors in PI message processing are raising alerts but errors in Comm Channel are not raising alerts.
    The message in SXI_MONITOR shows as processed successfully but when we check the RWB and Comm. Channel Monitoring we see processing errors "Channel error occured; detailed error description: JMS error: Connection to the server has been terminated; Linked error: Connection reset, Error Code:null"
    Are we missing any configuration? How do we get alerts/notifications if there are errors in Comm. Channel without having to login into RWB and watch it periodically?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    What is the staus of Communication channel in RWB when it fails, RED ??if yes then it should genarate alert.
    create one more alert for specific to JMS interface and check it out.

  • Resteasy in-built exceptions not caught in the exception mapper

    Hi friends,
    I have written some exception mappers to catch and handle the in-built rest easy exceptions like NotFoundException,MethodNotAllowedException, etc., Sample code as shown:
    @Provider
    public class NotFoundExceptionMapper implements ExceptionMapper<org.jboss.resteasy.spi.NotFoundExc eption>
    @Override
    Response toResponse(org.jboss.resteasy.spi.NotFoundExceptio n exception) {
    return Response.status(500).build();
    I have also written a try catch block in my web filter class. Whenever a NotFoundException occurs, it is not caught in the mapper, but it goes to the catch block in the Filter.
    Whereas I have tried another exception mapper class to handle JsonParsingException. This is working correctly and giving a proper response from the mapper whenever a Json Parse exception occurs.
    The issue is only with the case of resteasy inbuilt exceptions.
    Also, the Provider has been registered in the application context using the include-filter tag inside component scan.
    Is there any additional configuration to be done for this?
    Please guide me as to what needs to be done to catch rest easy in-built exceptions in the mapper class itself.
    Regards,
    RM

  • Exporting document as print PDF having custom Links not raising "CreateResourceStream" on custom Links Resource Handler.

    Print PDF export not raising any callBack(CanCreateResourceStream, CreateResourceStream) on my custom resource handler (ILinkresourceHandler) this lead to Low resolution images on PDF on other hand all Other export like Interactive PDF, PNG, JPEG even Print are working fine .CustomDataLink Sample also have same problem .

    Print PDF Export & IDML Export work on background thread means only model plugin get callbacks related to PDF export but my LinkResourceHandle Implemented in UI Plugin so I fix my problem by moving LinkResourceHandler implementation to new model plugin.if you want it to be in UI pligon only than put an empty text file name "DisableAsyncExport" in macos content folder inside app on mac, this will disable background export of PDF & IDML .
