Exception occured assuming connection is not valid

Hi
I am getting following error while executing a stored procedure.
Exception occured assuming connection is not valid. This Connection has either timed out or been closed, and it has returned to its pool. You must re-acquire the Connection.
Unable to close connection: This Connection has either timed out or been closed, and it has returned to its pool. You must re-acquire the Connection.
Error is not frequent but it comes 1 outof 100 cases
Can anyone give me a clue why this happens and how to sort out
regards,
Kamlesh

Anywhere in your code that calls Connecton.close(). He means (I believe) that your code may have a condition that causes it to call close() before it's done with the connection.
How are you acquiring the connection? Is it acquired and released in the same block of code or do you store it somewhere assumming it will be there when you need it?

    Thanks,

Hmm... I can't think of anything else that could be causing the problem.
I don't know of any way to exclude the 'note' right since GetKnownRights() returns all known rights (RightInfo) for the type of object passed into the method.
A suggestion might be to try getting the knownRights using the BOE .NET SDK (not web services) to see if the same error occurs.  There is some simple sample code that you can use as a test in the [BOE .NET SDK developers guide|http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/boesdk_net_dg_12_en.chm].
If this fails as well, then I can only assume that there is some problem with your install of Enterprise as I have tried many ways to reproduce the error you are getting, but cannot.

  • Flat file connection: The file name "\server\share\path\file.txt" specified in the connection was not valid

I'm trying to execute a SSIS package via SQL agent with a flat file source - however it fails with Code: 0xC001401E The file name "\server\share\path\file.txt" specified in the connection was not valid.
It appears that the problem is with the rights of the user that's running the package (it's a proxy account). If I use a higher-privelege account (domain admin) to run the package it completes successfully. But this is not a long-term solution, and I can't
see a reason why the user doesn't have rights to the file. The effective permissions of the file and parent folder both give the user full control. The user has full control over the share as well. The user can access the file (copy, etc) outside the SSIS
    package.
Running the package manually via DTExec gives me the same error - I've tried 32 and 64bit versions with the same result. But running as a domain admin works correctly every time.
I feel like I've been beating my head against a brick wall on this one... Is there some sort of magic permissions, file or otherwise, that are required to use a flat file target in an SSIS package?

    Hi Rossco150,
I have tried to reproduce the issue in my test environment (Windows Server 2012 R2 + SQL Server 2008 R2), however, everything goes well with the permission settings as you mentioned. In my test, the permissions of the folders are set as follows:
    \\ServerName\Temp  --- Read
    \\ServerName\Temp\Source  --- No access
    \\ServerName\Temp\Source\Flat Files --- Full control
I suspect that your permission settings on the folders are not absolutely as you said above. Could you double check the permission settings on each level of the folder hierarchy? In addition, check the “Execute as user” information from job history to make
sure the job was running in the proxy security context indeed. Which version of SSIS are you using? If possible, I suggest that you install the latest Service Pack for you SQL Server or even install the latest CU patch.

    Hi Dinesh,
Based on my research, the issue is caused by you are running a SSIS package with a connection manager that has a space-character in the connection name.
To work around this issue, please refer to the following two suggestions:
Rename the connection manager in THE package to not include certain special characters (spaces, dashes). Note that the connection manager name can be changed without having to edit any property of the connection string itself.
Escape quote the connection name, such that
    /CONNECTION "server.conn 1";"..."
    becomes
    /CONNECTION "\"server.conn 1\"";"..."
The following similar issue is for your reference:

  • Destroying connection that is not valid, due to the following exception [com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Connection reset]

    Hi everyone,
I'm facing the following problem in a Server runing Linux with JBoss AS 4.2.2, JRE 1.6, and MSSQL Server 2005 with JDBC 2.0 (sqljdbc4.jar).
The thing is: on friday morning I started up the server and everything worked fine ... next, from Friday at 6pm to Saturday at 8am nobody has used the system.
Then on Saturday at 8:05 got the following warning lines every time I tried to do something in my application. While it seems that everything works, after a few days the system starts to decrease their performance and malfunction, so I want to know why it
    might happen these warnings.
I have tried to find a solution to this problem in several places but I'm not succeeding. That's why I'm writing my problem here...
    Hope somebody can help me!

I´m facing similar problem with Linux and SQL Server 2008 R2. I made the downgrade of JDK 1.6 from 27 to 26 (some people reporting errors when upgraded to jdk1.6_29 and rolling back is ok) but for me the error persists. At this moment we are testing with
sqljdbc4.jar version 4.0 (released in 3/6/2012). The curious I have two equals Linux boxes and only one have presented connection reset errors.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Error_27_Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.

I created a SharePoint 2013 farm solution project in Visual Studio 2013 (running on the same machine where SharePoint 2013 server is running) with
event receiver.  I added web.config at project root level to store connection string (I'm working off external SQL DB) and got the following error during deployement:
    Error 27
Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.
When I commented out the ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["MyConnectionString"].ConnectionString; the error went away.  Am I missing something or not supposed to add my own App.config to SharePoint project solution?

    Hi,
From your description, you might want to store your connection string in web.config and there is an error during deployment.
It is recommended to store the configuration data of SharePoint solution in either property bags or hierarchical object store.
The links below will provide more information about this:

  • An error occurred while reconnecting P: to \\JSERVER\Data Microsoft Windows Network: The network path was not found. This connection has not been restored.

Almost every day when I open my computer I get this message:
An error occurred while reconnecting P: to \  \  JSERVER\data Microsoft Windows Network: The network path was not found. This connection has not been restored.
We then have to go through the process of resetting everything from start to finish just so I can connect to the server. There is no reason that we can find that causes this other than maybe windows updating every night. Any suggestions as to how to
    fix this?

it sounds like you have a network drive you are trying to map even though you are not logged in maybe in a script or task instead of backing up to :P backup to the share, make sure you have security set properly to run the task when not logged on.
I assume you are running a backup of some sort as this is the backup forum..

Please help me with the following query. We are migrating SAP BW 7.4 on Oracle to HANA. We have few WEBI report's universes built on BEx queries. In one of those reports there are some hidden RKFs, these works perfectly fine in reports based on oracle. Now we migrated to HANA in development system and when i refresh the universe structure they started giving errors like "Parse failed: Exception DBD, The supplied XML is not valid[Measures].[SAP_OBJECT_NAME] State:N/A". The object giving this error is in hidden state. I tried to unhide it and run the report then it runs fine but that not the client want as there might be so many hidden KFs in other reports also.
