ClassCastException when deploying jsf war on Weblogic 10.3.2
Hello everybody,
We 're having an issue when deploying jsf war on Weblogic 10.3.2
The war works fine on Tomcat 6.
When deploying on Weblogic we got the following exception:
java.lang.ClassCastException: weblogic.xml.jaxp.RegistryXMLReader cannot be cast to org.xml.sax.XMLReader
I've already put <prefer-web-inf-classes>true</prefer-web-inf-classes> in weblogic.xml
After "googling", people suggest to remove xml-apis jar from WEB-INF/lib, but doing so results in other exceptions.
Is there any fix for this issue? Please help it's been more than a month that we are crawling in the dark with this error.

I've problem deploying JSF applications
Hi guys;
I've created simple JSF Web Application. Its only blank page contains button that brings u to other page. When I run it from NetBeans IDE it runs perfect. But when I take the application folder to deploy it to tomcat manually it won't run even with the server used by the IDE itself. I noticed that when the IDE starts the server it initializes also sun JSF implementation which I think the key to make JSF run on tomcat server.
Any body knows how to deploy JSF Applications, or how to generate distributable package..
Thanks alot to all

Use Global Conditions when Deploying an Application to a User
Hi,
Use Global Conditions when Deploying an Application to a User:
I would like to deploy App-V Application with User centic in mind. The problem is that when the user login to a specefic typ of desktop the application shall be deployed. But if the use login on there primary device or some other
device with same SLA the Application shall not be deployed.
I think I can use Global Conditions to solve this. I have read about GC and it looks like I could greate a GC rule that deploy the software if the computer is in an AD-group or maybe becas all this computer starts with same prefix, sp maybe
if the computernamn starts with PC the application will get deployed.
The issue is that there is differant SLA on the computers that the User login to.
Or what mor can I do?
/SaiTechJust keep in mind this puts a load on AD, a Domain Controller can get tickled silly by these Global Conditions running from each of your Clients, depending on the scale of your environment it can have an impact. It's a great idea GC's, just need to consider
what load you are putting on the infra when they run.
Might not be an issue for\to you, worth nothing all the same.

Deploying JSF application on Tomcat 5.0.28
Hi,
I am having problems deploying JSF application (developed using Studio Creator) on Tomcat. Any suggessions ....
HTTP Status 404 - Servlet Faces Servlet is not available....
Thanks in advanceI ran into this same problem moving from Tomcat 4.1.31 to Tomcat 5.0.28. This one was definitely a headscratcher, but the solution turned out to be simple as I had an older servlet api jar (2.3) in my J2SE's jre/lib/ext directory. I replaced the existing servlet.api with servlet-api.jar and jsp-api.jar from the Tomcat 5.0.28 common/lib directory, restarted Tomcat, and the problem disappeared.

Issue 1: Regarding the deployment issue, do you see the line in your JWS?
Following soapbinding annotation:
@SOAPBinding(style=SOAPBinding.Style.DOCUMENT, use=SOAPBinding.Use.LITERAL,parameterStyle=SOAPBinding.ParameterStyle.BARE)
Change it to
following soapbinding annotation:
@SOAPBinding(style=SOAPBinding.Style.DOCUMENT, use=SOAPBinding.Use.LITERAL,parameterStyle=SOAPBinding.ParameterStyle.WRAPPED)
it should deploy fine. This is a known issue and BARE style is unsupported as described at http://edocs.bea.com/workshop/docs92/relnotes/relnotes.html (look for CR283457)
Here is what it says:
CR283457 - XBeans are not supported as parameters or return type for doc/lit/bare operations.
Use of Xbeans as a parameter or return type with doc/lit/bare bindings is not supported in operations or callbacks and will result in a failure during deployment.
Platform: All
Workaround: Use doc/lit/wrapped for services that use XBeans as parameters or return types.
Issue 2: Failure on the client side
Are you using clientgen and a java client for the webservice?
I found a bug on the same issue CR340707 but it appears we don't support Xmlbeans with clientgen and was closed as NotSupported feature.

The application gets deployed though! so I am assuming that this is not very critical,
but If somebody can tell me what this is then It would be really helpful.

Thanks for the additional info.
I found 2 similar issues with similar stack traces for WLS 6.1 sp2. One of the issues we could not reproduce, and in the
end the customer reinstalled WLS and the problem went away. The other issue was found internally and is not currently
active. I'm not 100% sure your situation is identical to one of these.
Therefor I suggest the following course of action:
1. Since this is an intermittant problem try reinstalling WLS. If that doesn't help then...
2. open a case with support. It may not be a major issue, but we need to be sure of this.
Hope this helps,
Michael

Hi.
This may be a known issue, but I need more info. What version (including
service pack level) of WLS are you running?
Also, if you are not running sp2 please apply it and test to see if you
are still seeing this.
Let me know what you find.
Thanks,

so I try to deploy it in a standalone weblogic but this different problem appear to me,I think all this problems because of migration ADF faces to Apache trinanad although I fixed all my code after migration and compile it without any problems.can I deploy my app to weblogic 10 from my Jdeveloper 10g without migrating my Application To Apache?

Error 500--Internal Server Error - when deploying strust application
Hello everyone,
We have a large strust-based web application. The application is being deployed as an EAR file.
We are getting a NullPointerException when we deploy the application on Weblogic 8.1 in production mode. The exception
occurs when we access the application for the first time after redeployment.
When we restart the server entirely we do not get the exception anymore.
This exception does occur only rarely in development mode.
In production mode it occurrs every time.
Has anyone experienced similar issues?
Regards,
Oliver Enseling

The problem seems to occur due to servlet reloading.... There seems to be
a bug that reloads the ActionServlet even without any changes made to the
code base... The reload fails for the ActionServlet making it null
Turn off servlet reloading in your weblogic.xml using
<container-descriptor>
<servlet-reload-check-secs>-1</servlet-reload-check-secs>
</container-descriptor>
Let me know if this helps ...The default is to check for every one sec... I am not sure whether these
kind of defaults make sense once a application is moved into production
mode...
If the issue gets resolved with the above suggested workaround .... let me
know... since the issue is spurious and I am trying to reach a higher
confidence level in the solution proposed by me.....

Infinite loop/afrLoop when deploying ADF application to standalone weblogic
Working with Oracle ADF / JDeveloper 11.1.2.2
I have enabled ADF security in my application and am using JAAS combined with Oracle EBS users and roles to provide security to the application. Testing on my local integrated weblogic server works fine.
When deploying my Oracle ADF application to a standalone Weblogic server through an EAR file, requesting a JSF page causes the server to go into an infinite loop on both IE and firefox.

Reviewing some of the suggestions from the forum and from the link below, I have tried fixing the issue through updates to my web.xml - but am still having the same issue.

I know other users have experienced similar issues - but I am having trouble debugging or troubleshooting why this is happening.
Any suggestions on how to further troubleshoot or resolve this issue would be appreciated!
DanI was able to resolve the login page looping issue.
The issue is related to the login page being a JSF page based on a page template.
When I created the JSF login page as a page template - the template contains a binding:
<af:pageTemplate viewId="/test-template.jsf" value="#{bindings.ptb1}" id="pt1">
When I deploy my application to the test weblogic server, the anonymous-role grants are not being respected. So even though I grant view access to the login JSF page to anonymous-role -- it appears that weblogic is trying to request a login for any page with a pageDef (including the login page). By re-creating the login page with no pageDef (a JSF page that does not use a page template) -- the login page is displayed (rather than entering into a loop).
There is still a seperate issue with the anonymous-role grant not working as I would expect it to work that I will need to troubleshoot further. -
