Use Global Conditions when Deploying an Application to a User

Hi,
Use Global Conditions when Deploying an Application to a User:
I would like to deploy App-V Application with User centic in mind. The problem is that when the user login to a specefic typ of desktop the application shall be deployed. But if the use login on there primary device or some other
device with same SLA the Application shall not be deployed.
I think I can use Global Conditions to solve this. I have read about GC and it looks like I could greate a GC rule that deploy the software if the computer is in an AD-group or maybe becas all this computer starts with same prefix, sp maybe
if the computernamn starts with PC the application will get deployed.
The issue is that there is differant SLA on the computers that the User login to.
Or what mor can I do?
/SaiTech

Just keep in mind this puts a load on AD, a Domain Controller can get tickled silly by these Global Conditions running from each of your Clients, depending on the scale of your environment it can have an impact. It's a great idea GC's, just need to consider
what load you are putting on the infra when they run.
Might not be an issue for\to you, worth nothing all the same.

  • Is there any way to use RUN button to deploy the application and open IE...

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
i used to use Run button to compile / deploy and run (opening the browser to project context path) .
i want to know is there any way to use RUN button to deploy an application to standalone OC4J and opening browser?
I know that we can define ear or war deployment profiles and use them to deploy the application to stand alone server , but i want a single click solution.
    thanks

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Error 500--Internal Server Error  - when deploying strust application

    Hello everyone,
We have a large strust-based web application. The application is being deployed as an EAR file.
We are getting a NullPointerException when we deploy the application on Weblogic 8.1 in production mode. The exception
occurs when we access the application for the first time after redeployment.
When we restart the server entirely we do not get the exception anymore.
This exception does occur only rarely in development mode.
In production mode it occurrs every time.
    Has anyone experienced similar issues?
    Regards,

The problem seems to occur due to servlet reloading.... There seems to be
a bug that reloads the ActionServlet even without any changes made to the
code base... The reload fails for the ActionServlet making it null
Turn off servlet reloading in your weblogic.xml using
    <container-descriptor>
    <servlet-reload-check-secs>-1</servlet-reload-check-secs>
    </container-descriptor>
Let me know if this helps ...The default is to check for every one sec... I am not sure whether these
kind of defaults make sense once a application is moved into production
    mode...
If the issue gets resolved with the above suggested workaround .... let me
know... since the issue is spurious and I am trying to reach a higher
confidence level in the solution proposed by me.....

  • Infinite loop/afrLoop when deploying ADF application to standalone weblogic

Working with Oracle ADF / JDeveloper 11.1.2.2
I have enabled ADF security in my application and am using JAAS combined with Oracle EBS users and roles to provide security to the application. Testing on my local integrated weblogic server works fine.
When deploying my Oracle ADF application to a standalone Weblogic server through an EAR file, requesting a JSF page causes the server to go into an infinite loop on both IE and firefox.

Reviewing some of the suggestions from the forum and from the link below, I have tried fixing the issue through updates to my web.xml - but am still having the same issue.

I know other users have experienced similar issues - but I am having trouble debugging or troubleshooting why this is happening.
Any suggestions on how to further troubleshoot or resolve this issue would be appreciated!
    Dan

I was able to resolve the login page looping issue.
The issue is related to the login page being a JSF page based on a page template.
When I created the JSF login page as a page template - the template contains a binding:
    <af:pageTemplate viewId="/test-template.jsf" value="#{bindings.ptb1}" id="pt1">
When I deploy my application to the test weblogic server, the anonymous-role grants are not being respected. So even though I grant view access to the login JSF page to anonymous-role -- it appears that weblogic is trying to request a login for any page with a pageDef (including the login page). By re-creating the login page with no pageDef (a JSF page that does not use a page template) -- the login page is displayed (rather than entering into a loop).
There is still a seperate issue with the anonymous-role grant not working as I would expect it to work that I will need to troubleshoot further.

    Hi!
The bindings seem to be correct. Somehow, the model definition can not be loaded when it's needed. What could be the underlying cause for that? We synchronized the database with the model as well. When running the page directly from JDev it worls like a charm (right click --> Run). Only when deploying the whole application the error occurs (and only for that page).

  • What to do with libraries when deploying to Application server?

    Hi,
When i build applications in JDeveloper and run them in the build-in OC4J instance, all works fine. When i deploy the applications i update the WEB-INF/lib entry in the deployment profile to contain the used libraries. This creates very big archives and with more applications in one instance that use the same libraries it should be more efficient to share them?
The only way i figured out to do it is by copying them onto the server and reference them with a library path entry. Is this the way it should be done? Should i deploy all JDev libraries to all OC4J instances? Can i add the library paths to my project in JDeveloper instead of creating them afterwards in EM? Can anybody point me to some more information on this (aside from the help function in JDev)?
    Thank you and regards,
    Andre

Well the question of does it matter is a toss up. Adobe has things set in place so that when you install v1 of lightroom and open up your beta library the program updates the library to the shipping version changes. This of course is ideal if you have done a lot of work in lightroom beta that is not stored in the xmp sidecar or the xmp embedded in a dng file. Versions and Histories are such items that will NOT keep if you delete you old database and start fresh as they are not stored inside the xmp file. Also some people seemed to have had some trouble upgrading their old beta databases as well.
If you did what I did and use the lightroom beta as just a beta and didn't invest much of your work into it then I would suggest starting fresh and importing your files (if you made changes to a file in ACR or lightroom beta and have the xmp in the folder with it) lightroom will read those changes so you don't have to do it again in lightroom. Again things like histories will NOT follow along.
If you have a lot invested by way of work inside lightroom beta then I would just do an update of your database when you get v1 of the program.
    Best of luck.

  • 500 Internal Server Error when deploying struts application on OAS 10.1.3

I've installed the Oracle Application Server several times, this time with 10.1.3 our application doesn't run and we get the error shown below.
Any ideas? It looks to be something with struts or tiles. struts.jar and tiles.jar is included in our deployed j2ee application WEBI-INF/lib dir. The application was built with jdeveloper 10.1.2 and compiled with java 1.4.
We load a custom log4j.properties, and nothing is even getting logged except for the log4j init stuff, nor is this NoSuchMethod error showing up in any other of the many different log files. (That I can find anyway)

Figures, I've been fighting with this for the past day and a half and I figure it out shortly after I post the question.
It turns out the tiles.jar that was in our WEB-INF/lib directory was an old one. It looks like the newer struts.jar (from jdeveloper) we're using includes the tiles information. Once I removed tiles.jar, commons-dbcp, pool, resources, and services, it works now.
It looks like jdeveloper overwrites most of those files with it's built in struts integration, and we've just been lucky before that struts.jar was being loaded before tiles.jar and something with oas 10.1.3 is loading the jars in a different order--but I'm just guessing here.

  • Error when deploying SSXA application to WebLogic

    Hi guys,
We're trying to get away from JDeveloper for our SSXA development (slow, buggy, not well known) and moving to Eclipse instead. I've configured a new WebLogic domain (using the Configuration Wizard, selecting the Oracle JRF components), installed a few oracle.ucm.wcm.* libraries on WebLogic, and am now trying to deploy the application. I've tried deploying the application through JDev and browse the WebLogic JNDI tree but I can't find the connection factory either. So how should all this be working?
    Thanks!

    Even more information:
After packaging the project as an EAR file (using Maven), deploying this EAR file manually through the WebLogic console gives the same error.
After packaging the project as an EAR file (using JDeveloper - Deploy as EAR), deploying this EAR file manually through the WebLogic console gives the same error.
The two EAR files are practically identical.
It looks like JDev is provisioning something before deploying to WebLogic, but I don't know where this hook is...

  • How to use "where" condition when we use update or delete in a dbadapter?

    Hi
I want to update/delete a record in a database table based on one of its fields. Which means I have to use "where" condition to check the value of the field and only then I can decide whether or not the record can be updated/deleted.
When I try to use the dbadapter update/delete options, I dont see any provision for writing the "where" condition.(May be I am missing something).
I know that I can use the custom sql option and write an sql command to achieve this.
But I would like to know if this can be done when using the update/delete option itself in the dbadapter.
    Thanks in anticipation.
    Ravi

    Hi,
You can use the logical delete option. In that case you can supply a value for the column that indicates if a record is changed and have it picked up by the db adapter.

  • Error -8 when deploying JHeadStart application to Oracle Application Server

    Hi,
I have developed an application using Oracle JHeadstart 10.1.3 Preview Version 10.1.3.0.78
We have Oracle Application Server 10g running in AS400. I created a connection to the server and tested. It shows the connection success.
I am trying to deploy my application to Oracle Application Server 10g but getting the following error:
    Closing connection to Oc4jDcmServlet
    #### DCM command did not complete successfully (-8)
    #### HTTP return code was -8
Exit status of DCM servlet client: -8
Elapsed time for deployment: 30 seconds
    #### Deployment incomplete. #### 25-Jul-2006 2:21:44 PM
I developed applications in JDev10.1.2 and deployed to the same server (Oracle Application Server 10g) without any problem.
But if I want to deploy application from JDev10.1.3 then I am having this error.
Can anybody help me? what might be the problem?
    Thanks
    Syed

    Syed,
Did you generate your application with service -level property "JSP version" set to "1.2"? If not, you cannot deploy your app to a J2EE 1.3 application server like Oracle AS 10.1.2.

  • SaxParser error when deploying J2EE application on 10gAS for IBM AIX 5.2

    Hello,
We have problems deploying J2EE application on 10gAS 9.0.4.0.0, on IBM AIX 5.2. We deployed it on 10gAS for Windows 9.4.0.0 and 9.0.4.0.1, and on 10gAS 9.0.4.0.0 for Linux, without any trouble (installed ADF runtime, etc.).
Application architecture is JSP/Struts/ADF BC4J. We used JHeadstart 10g framework.
As soon as we start the application, we get the message described bellow. We saw that J2SE version, shipped with the AS is 1.4.1? On all the other AS versions, and in embedded JDeveloper OC4J is 1.4.2.
We also use the Xerces library xercesImpl.jar, which is located in .../WEB-INF/lib directory (which contains SaxParser implementation), if that is important. But the application fails right on the beginning.
    The complete error message follows:

  • How do you deploy an application to a user?

I want to setup SCCM so that IT can deploy applications to users. I know that SCCM allows the publishing of a library to allow users to accept and deploiy applicatiosn themseves but I don't want that. I just need to know how to deploy the application to
them. I know it's a simple question but if someone could give me a general step by step that would be great.
    Much appreciated

See here for information on the Application Catalog. Sounds like a good fit for you.
