Exclude individual computers from a GPO using WMI Filter

I understand I can use security settings to Deny Apply Group Policy to certain users thus excluding them from a GPO, but I'm wondering if I can use a WMI filter to exclude certain computers from a GPO that contains only Computer Configuration policies.
Root\CimV2; select Name from Win32_ComputerSystem where (Name <> "COMPNAME")
This would evaluate to True on all except the COMPNAME computer and therefore should exclude the COMPNAME computer. Could this be expanded to exclude a second computer with: Or Name <> "COMP2" ?
Is this correct? Has anyone else gotten this to work?

Sorry, it's very unclear what you want.
Whenever you have a question, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say what version of Oracle you're using (e.g. 11.2.0.2.0).

Have you tried the the UNPIVOT EXCLUDE NULLS option? See the SQL Language manual for details.
It that doesn't do what you want, then you may need to UNPIVOT in a sub-query, generating more rows than you want, and use a WHERE clause in the main query to remove the unwanted rows.

Excluding some computers from Active Directory System Discovery

I am trying to exclude some computers from Active Directory System Discovery. I created a new Organizational Unit for those excluded computers and that OU is NOT under the OU that I am discovering in the OU hierarchy. I specified the location
to be discovered under the Active Directory System Discovery properties. However, it is still discovering the computers that I wanna exclude from the discovery. I deleted those computers from console manually and run the discovery again, it still
discovers them.
What I might be doing wrong?

Hi,
If you check under properties on the object, you can see which discovery agent is discovering the reasource, it could be the Group Discovery as well. That is where I would start to troubleshoot it.

Using WMI Filter to apply group policy to users on computers in a security group

Hello all,
I've got a bunch of computers that I want to apply some user side polices that affect all users that log on to these specific computers (they are used for exams).
Unfortunately it is company policy to have a flat OU structure and as such moving these computers into their own OU is out of the question. Which brings me to wanting to create a WMI filter to limit the policy to running on computers only within the security
group and then set the security filtering to "Authenticated Users". The policy will be linked to the all student computers OU where a few thousand machines sit, but will only apply to 20 or so machines (I know it's messy).
Anyway that brings me to my question, can someone point me in the right direction for how I would go about creating this WMI query?

That's what "Loopback" initially was designed for. Nowadays, we can use
some other tricks :)

Exclude other computers from range extender

I bought the RE1000 because I live on the top floor of a shared house and the router signal in my room is very feeble. Since I've bought the extender, my signal strength and internet speed has increased significantly. However, sometimes the extender loses the router signal for a couple of seconds.
This doesn't bother me, but my housemates, who are closer to the router and can make do with the original router signal, are now also on my extender and also experience the signal loss. I'd like to find a way to make sure my computer is the only one serviced by the extender signal.
I tried this by giving the extender a fixed IP address, but that didn't suffice. How do I exclude the other computers in my house from the extender signal?

There are two problems that you are experiencing on your RE1000: First, intermittent wireless signal. This problem is caused by a corrupted firmware on your RE1000 or wireless router, so there is a need to have the latest firmware installed on the router and on the wireless extender. Second, other wireless computers are also connected to your RE1000 and that they are now having the same problem that you are having. Basically, there is no setting on the RE1000 that will filter wireless devices from connecting to it. If you wanted to filter or create another wireless network you should have purchased a wireless access point like a WAP300N.

If you don't have access to all the computers you will have to de-authorize them all, then re-authorize the ones you wish. If you have access to all of them, then you can de-authorize each one, but must do so from the computer itself.

Use WMI to Associate win32_SerialPort device with win32_LogicalDrive mapping

My c# application requires to flash a micro-controller, which has been configured as a removable device and is connectable by means of a Virtual Com Port.
So, I need to recognise the volume label of the mapped drive and perform the flash using a simple file copy.
The problem is that some of the micro-controllers produce slightly different volume labels making it difficult to identify all possible cases via string comparison.
I know how to retrieve drive info for removable devices using DriveInfo.GetDrives(). This gives me the drive letter and the volume label

I noticed (from device manager properties) that they both have the same container ID and are derived from the same usb controller, however I don't know how to access the this information from each child using WMI. Is this possible?

Is there a way to exclude files from source paths using patterns

Does anyone know of any way to exclude files from source paths using patters rather than individually selecting the files? UI doesn't allow to specify any pattern. But if you look at the jpr file there are other places where patterns are allowed. Can the same pattern be copied and applied to excluded files?

As expected, cdm-git also works fine since DMs only work in the root mode as of now.
Just for the record, both type commands output "/usr/bin/startx" and pacman -Q gives "systemd 215-4".

I am not getting anywhere with deploying my application or
applet.
I have set up my bc4j project. It contains all my VO info,
links, application module. (proj a)
I then have another project with DbInfo in it(has all my rowset
info), Multiple Frames, and my Applet.java file.
Actually I have an Applet.java file and a Application.java file
because I was seeing if both/either worked. Anyway they seem the
same, except for that extra window that comes up when you run the
applet.
I follow the steps in the oracle directions (from earlier post).
And all seems ok. But at ---->

with applets being served from a different server than the
database. So a stand alone application was my front runner, but
I haven't gotten either way to work yet.

I need to exclude one column from a SELECT * query. Everytime the column data type is BLOB, I dont' want it to be part of my SELECT. After googling I found some info about NOPRINT but it doesn't seem to be working in my case. May be I am using it incorreclty.

Where FILE_DESC is of BLOB datatype.Can I use it in my SELECT or it has to be used in Dynamic SQL? Is there any other option to achieve this?

COLUMN FILE_DESC NOPRINT
affects all queries in the same SQL*Plus session (unless you cancel it with a COLUMN FILE_DESC PRINT command.) It doesn't matter if those queries are static or dynamic. As mentioned before, COLUMN is a SQL*Plus command. If you using a different front end, then it may have a different way to hide specific output columns.
Did you have a poroblem when you tried it? Post a complete test script that the people who want to help you can use to re-create the problem and test their ideas.

If you use TEMP >=100 as Warning, this warning can still be raised.
What version of the database is it? If Oracle 10g, Grid Control (the agent) searches the alert table in the database for alerts, so the database raises the alert and the agent just passes this alert to Grid Control.
If you are using Oracle 10g, you can use the following statement (connected as sys):
DBMS_SERVER_ALERT.SET_THRESHOLD(
metrics_id => DBMS_SERVER_ALERT.TABLESPACE_PCT_FULL,
warning_operator => DBMS_SERVER_ALERT.OPERATOR_GT,
