Exclude Pub Items from Compose

G'day all,
Do you know how to exclude a certain Publication Item during MGP compose cycle?
I have a PI that only receive data from clients and it does not need to bring the data back to clients. This PI unfortunately is the biggest data submitted, so excluding it from compose cycle I think it will speed up MGP process.
Thanks
Vute

There are a few options
1) keep it as fast refresh, but (if you are sure that the data traffic is purely one way up from the client) set the selection to 'where 1=2'. This would run a compose, but would be pretty fast. The uploaded data would would trigger the MGP after the apply/insert, but this would just do the comparison within the CMP$ tables and generate delete transactions for the client.In this case data would stay on the client until the sync after it was applied to the server
2) disable the triggers created by the publish (<table_name>i/u/d). This would mean that the table is never marked as dirty, and therefore will not be composed. In this case data created on the client would not be removed unless a complete refresh of the object was done
3) make it a complete refresh object - suppresses from compose, but will flush data not applied from the client (at least until a subsequent sync). If you use a dummy selection then you can get it to flush the client table after each sync
4) If you have a l;ot of dependancies, you could create a MyCompose class for the PI, and use the needcompose method to provide more control over whether or not the object is composed

  • Is there any way to remove my hard drive with backup files in it from the exclude these items from backups???

    I currently have a MacBook Air and a 1TB external hard drive, and I run my iPhoto Library from the EHD and as well have TM backup my computer to that same HD. The problem I have is that I don't have a backup of that HD which has all my photos and other media, so If the HD takes a crap I can be in big trouble.
    So what I did is I purchased a new HD (My Cloud from WD) to back up my EHD. While setting everything up I ran into this
    TM included the EHD in the "Exclude these items from backup" list and I can't touch them, and I tried everything. I later found this
    The last sentence of #3 states why I can't.... Since the EHD has a backup file in it, it is excluded.
    So..... Does anybody have any idea of a way around this? Would I have to restart everything and set it up different? Or just have a better and easier way of doing this?? I'll appreciate any help and suggestions.

    What you need, is a dedicated image restauration filter that recognized the regular frequency pattern superimposed onto the prints. You can do this in advanced Image processing packages that let you compute the fourier transform of the image and then suppress or attanuate the frequency bands of the artefact with a band-stop filter.
    But neither Aperture nor PhotoShop have this kind of filter. In Aperture and Photoshop you can only soften the effect by blurring and then exporting a smaller version of the image.
    The algorithm that your scanner uses is probably the best that can be done, even if the resolution is only 100 dpi.
    Do you still have the negatives? Scanning the negatives at a high resolution may give you better results.

  • Time machine "Exclude these items from backups" keeps re-adding my external drive

    I have several external hard drives that contain data I wish to backup.  With Lion I had them removed from the "Exclude these items from backups" list and all was well.
    Since upgrading to Mountain Lion I have been not so lucky.  I was able to keep one out of the list by turning off Time Machine, removing the disk from the list of items to exclude from backup, then turning Time Machine back on.  I have one external drive, however, that will not remove.  The steps I'md oing are:
    Open Options under Time Machine
    Select "FreeAgent" and click on the minus sign and it dissapears from the list.
    Click Save
    Open Options again and "FreeAgent" is back in the list.
    If I turn off Time Machine and do these steps it still goes back in.
    Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks

    Time Machine usually won't show a drive that's not conneted in that list.
    Can you remove it from the list while it's connected?
    If so, but it still comes back, the preferences file (where that's kept) may be damaged.  Try a "full reset" of Time Machine, per #A4 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.

  • Exclude deleted items from the search results

    My users state that documents that they deleted days ago are still showing in the search results; how do I exclude all the items in all of the farm's Recycling Bins from being displayed in the search results?
    Also, I have heard complaints that the search is displaying results that match their query, but they don't have permissions to the files; how can I exclude items that the user doesn't have permissions for?

    Take a look at the following article.  There are several policies that cover how long items remain in the index if they are missing from an individual crawl.  By default they tend to be set fairly high (I think 30 days is about the average).  YOu
    can change these values to modify the policies to remove content more quickly.  Just remember missing from a crawl isn't always due to an item being deleted.  So if you decrease these policies you run the risk or removing existing content along with
    deleted content.

  • Excluding Items from Demantra collection

    Hi,
    Is it possible to exclude the items from being collected to Demantra? Basically, the sales history in Demantra remains, but I don’t want to collect the history going forward.
    Thanks
    Praveena Dasalakunte

    Hi Praveena,
    Oracle Demantra does not have the feature of blocking an item as such. But, your requirement can be met using one of the two approaches:-
    1. Mark the “Planning Method” of the item to “Not Planned” in Item Master. This would exclude the item from getting collected. With this option, the older history in Demantra would remain (unless you delete it manually) but the new history won’t be collected. Please note that this option would not collect the Item in ODS itself. So, using this option means excluding the item from Other VCP products as well (ASCP, RP, SNO etc).
    2.Use the Custom Hooks to manually remove this item in the Demantra Item and Sales Staging table. This would need some development as you may need to have a GUI/table maintaining the list of items to be excluded.
    Hope, this helps.
    Thanks, Kunal

  • After reformatting my 1 Tb WD ext drive and tinkering with the "exclude these items" list, I now get the following error message from Time Machine:Are you sure you want to back up to the same device your original data is on? the WD disk has mounted??

    After reformatting my 1 Tb WD ext drive and tinkering with the "exclude these items" list, I now get the following error message from Time Machine: "Are you sure you want to back up to the same device your original data is on?"  I've reformatted in Disk Utilities...not sure what I did wrong.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Not sure what you mean by "booted" from it.
    If the Mac OS is installed on the external drive, then it's possible to start up from it, just as you do from your internal drive. Please open the Startup Disk preference pane in System Preferences, and verify that your internal drive is selected as the startup disk.
    Assuming that's the case, then it may be that your TM settings have been corrupted. Turn off TM, then move or delete the file /Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine.plist. Turn TM back on, recreate your settings, and try again.

  • Exclude item from print

    Is it possible to exclude an item on a web page from being

    Brief read - it explains how you have a separate style sheet
    for the
    screen and printer.
    http://meyerweb.com/eric/articles/webrev/200001.html
    basically - you have a 2nd ( or more ) style sheet file that
    is used
    when you print. You copy most of the screen styles into this
    print
    style sheet.
    You can then modify the print style sheet - so that it is
    formatted
    differently - in your case omits to print certain parts.
    for example in one of my print styles I have this:
    #navMain, .nav_bottom, .footer, photonav_main, .sidenav,
    .sidemenu ,
    .sitemeter { display:none; } /* remove from printout */
    it stops all those sections styled as show from printing
    In the html files the two sets of style sheets are loaded
    like this
    <link href="/css/main.css" rel="stylesheet"
    type="text/css"
    media="screen" />
    <link href="/css/print_main.css" rel="stylesheet"
    type="text/css" media="print" />
    sorryt I don't have time to write a full article about it -
    maybe you
    need to buy some books on css.

  • How do I exclude items from itunes match?

    How do I exclude select items or playlists from itunes match?

    The quick answer is that you don't.
    However, there are some options, which are all a bit fiddly.
    You could split your library, so that songs which you don't want in the cloud are in one library and those that you do want are in another. There are plenty of problems with this method.
    You could force the songs to be ineligible for match. The most common way of doing this is to tell iTunes that they are podcasts or audiobooks. That way match will exclude them, but depending on your useage this could be a problem. They won't turn up if you are shuffling music for example.
    The method I prefer requires a second library signed up for match. Add your music and then, on the second library delete the songs, selecting to delete them from the cloud. This will not remove the original file from your main library and it will stay there with the iCloud status of "removed". I find that this works very well, but be warned that if you turn match off and on again on the main computer then it will add all those songs to the cloud again, so this isn't a solution if you are likely to turn match off and on regularly.
    Other than that, the only option is to wait and hope that Apple add the ability to exclude songs.

  • How to exclude Web App from search results

    Hi
    Search results link to a unstyled Web App instead to the actual page it resides in.
    Please do this:
    1. go to: http://kinship.businesscatalyst.com/
    2. search for "Michael" on the top global search
    3. on the search results page click on the name (link).
    4. you will see Michael's web app item not the actuall page it resides in (http://kinship.businesscatalyst.com/About/the-team)
    How to avoid getting web app results in search?
    Thanks
    Micha

    Hi Micha
    Just add “&OT=35 “ at the end of the action in your search form:
    Ex:
    <form name=”xxxx” method=”post” action=”/Default.aspx?SiteSearchID=3566&amp;ID=/results&OT=35”>
    <div class=”search-box”><input type=”text” class= ............../>
    <input type=”submit” class=”cat_button” value=”search” />
    </div>
    </form>
    Here are the rest of the content types IDs, should you come across similar situations in the future:
    Web Pages = 1
    Literature = 6
    Announcements = 7
    FAQs = 9
    Forums = 43
    Blogs = 55
    Web Apps = 35
    Catalogs = 26
    Bookings = 48
    You can exclude multiple areas from a search, simply list them with commas: &OT=35,1,6

  • Omit few items from GI print out to production (Mvt: 261)

    Hi Experts,
    I need to omit few items (packing items) from the print out after issuing materials against a Production order (mvt: 261). The reason is each FERT material has hundreds of components in the BOM, and the packing items are in majority. They exist in BOM to cover the cost of the finished product, so they appear when I issue goods to production. I don't want packing items to come in the GI print because packing materials are readily available in floor and they need not be issued from stores and its understood.
    I want all the comps to be issued & displayed at material document but the print to carry all items excluding packing mtls. How this can be done? pls help.
    Thanks,
    Rajoo

    Hi Rajoo ... this can be acheived though modification in your smartform ... talk to your ABAP, he should be able to help you out !!!

  • Location bar show items from subfolders

    When searching  a master folder in bridge using the show items in subfolders is it possible to limit the search to the first level of the master folder and exclude all nested folders?

    I don't think so.  As I read it, 'Show Items From Subfolders' is defined to display the entire contents of a folder including its subfolders in a single continuous flat view.

  • BAPI for Deletion of line Items from PR

    Hi Experts,
                    I need to delete line items from Purchase Requisition when user check the check box.Check box available on output display i.e check box to delete item.
    thanks,
    santhosh.

    Use "BAPI_REQUISITION_CHANGE". Existing list of LIne items should be filled in the structure "REQUISITION_ITEMS_OLD" & New list of line items should be included in the structure "REQUISITION_ITEMS_NEW"
    OLD - will contain the records currently in database.
    NEW - fresh list of records (in your case exclude the line item which is to be deleted)

    Hi,
    Use the Data source 0FI_AR_4 to Know the status (0FI_DOCSTAT) of payment to be done by customer.
    OR
    Enhance the 2LIS_13_VDITM with VBUP fields which will give the status of Billing.
