  • How to download the pivot view to the excel sheet with all features

    Hi,
Using discoverer, my co-worker is able to download the pivot view to excel sheet with all enabled features, like pivot table in excel.
Is this can be done in obiee? if this feature is present in obiee, plz will you explain me how to do in obiee? its urgent.
    Thanks,

    Hi abc,
I don't think BI office plug-in supports you the pivot table features of MS Excel.
Even if you import a pivot table from BI, it is rather treated just as a table in Excel

  • Average & SUM in a Single criteria in the Pivot View

    Hi,
Can you plese let me know whether it is possible to have SUM at the Grand Total level & Average on the Right Hand side of the Pivot Table view at the same time.
    Thanks & Regards
    Siva.

    Hi,
The way you want to do it is not possible.
What you can do is make a union of 2 reports one is using the Sum and the other the AVG and not use the Grand total provided by OBIEE.It's kind of creating your own Grand Totals
Look at this thread it will help:

If you are using pivot table you can think about a new calculate item as a GT

    Thank you before
    Regards
    JOE

    Hi Joe
    In 10g
1st change the View from Compound Layout to "Tabular View"
2nd.. as you told the A-C total is needed, in the tabular view at Answers......navigate to that field/column  & find Sigma (Summation Symbol) ..
3rd, by clicking on it..you will get the Totals in Bold Letters
Please mark Correct if this helps you

  • Calculated column in a pivot in obiee 10g

    Hello all ,
Please share your thoughts on the below requirement :
I have 3 measure columns in a pivot table (in measures)- A,B,C .
against region dimension (in rows) and one month dimension (in measure lable ).
the data's are populating as below :
    ....... jan .......Feb
    A B C ....... A B C
    region --- >10 5 5 .........2 5 10
Now , i want one calculated column (D) , just after these three months values of A,B,C .
    the calculation would be :
    D =((A of Jan * B of Jan) + (A of Feb * B of Feb)) / (C of Jan + C of Feb)
Let me know , if further explanation needed .

Try to use Table view first to get the expected results by tweaking the below post

  • Weighted Average in Pivot View

    Hi,
Can you please throw some light on the below scenario based on weighted average:
    For Ex:
    Cloumn1---Column2-----Column3
    R1-----------Line Item1--10
    R1-----------Line Item2--20
    R2-----------Line Item3--30
    R2-----------Line Item4--40
Now i am trying to achieve weighted average based on the group by of Column1.
    10+20=30==>30/2=15
    30+40=70==>70/2=35
Before raising this thread, i had a look at the below URL:
    http://siebel.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/siebel-analytics-l/weighted-average-for-fact-column-values-1242947
Can you please let me know how we can achieve this in the pivot view(OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1).
    Your help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance

  • How to Limit the Grouped(through Bins) values in Pivot View

    Hi All,
we have a column category which contains operational, staffing and allocation categories.
in our requirement we need to group operational and staffing as group1 and the allocations as the other group2.i have grouped this using bins.
our requirement is group1 should dispaly in one pivot view and group2 values should display in another pivot view.
Could any one please suggest on this.
NOTE: I have tried this with new calculated item option in pivot view but its unable to display character values.
    Thank You,
    Suhasini.

I think the issue here is that you have bins 1,2,3 but you want to see the values displayed, not 1,2,3?
Try adding the same column again, use them next to each other in the pivot table, hide the one with the bins, what you should get is a prent and child type structure where the values are group according to the 1 2 3 in the first column.
I htink the only way to get three separate tables would be to duplicate the query 3 times, filtering the bins column by 1 then 2 etc and displaying all three tables one below the other. Alternatively, you could try putting the bins column in the section header of the pivot table to see if that splits the tables by 1 2 3 .
Sorry if this is a bit long winded, it's worth playing around with it though.

  • "Pie chart in pivot view  showing only the first column's results" in obiee

    Hi,
In my pivot view(pie chart view+pivottable),i'm getting only the first column's result in pie chart..
I have added a column named *'A*' in rows and '*moneyspent*' in measuresfield and the '*period*' in the columnsfield in the pivot view.I'm calculating the sum of
    the rows and columns..
I'm not getting the sum valueof moneyspent in the pie chart..instead i'm getting only the first column of period in the pivot table in the pie chart.
can anyone tell how can i get the sum value of pivot table in pie chart?
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi Prash,
let me try to give you an example based on the paint sample:
    Use Markets.Region, Products.Brand, 'Sales Measures'.Units
choose a pivot view to display the result: region goes into the rows-section, Brand goes into the columns-section and Units into the measures-section
In the columns-section add a total using the 'add total' at 'Measure Labels' level
the result is a total column on the right side of the pivot.
    looking like this:
    Units
    Brands
Region Enterprise Magicolor Mccloskey Valspar Units Total
    Central 1032.....
    Eastern 1485......
    Southern 824.....
    Western 580
What I am looking for is a new column 'Units Total pct'.
If I duplicate the measure to show the values in percent, I'll get a second column per Brand (showing the absolute and percentage values) - that's what I don't want

  • Reg: Excluded Section in Pivot view

    Hi,,
    can any one telme..
how exactly the 'Excluded Section' in the pivot view, will effect the entire report.
In one of my report when i place one column in excluded section, one set of data is coming, when i remove that column in the Excluded section , data is effecting and its changing...why this is happening??

Even if the column is excluded in pivot, it will be there in the query sent to database. If you exclude an attribute, and if it changes the granularity of the report, you have to make sure you set aggregations properly in pivot measures, otherwise you can get unexpected results, and individual row level or even grand totals.

  • Can I install OBIEE 10g and 11g on the same machine?

While I'm waiting for new hardware, I wanted to get started on installing OBIEE 11g on my laptop. Can I do this if I already have 10g installed?
I want to make sure if I install it that it will not impact my current 10g setup. I'm not sure if it overrides certain files and folders or if I can do a separate installation to have both.

    Hello everyone.
I have OBIEE 10g on my Production box pointing to the Oracle Database 11g R1 which is also having OWB integrated in it.
Now, I am planning to upgrade OBIEE 10g to 11g and Oracle Database from 11g R1 to 11g R2, so that OWB will also be upgarded, as it is integrated in 11gR2.
I am confused about, how to run RCU on the database, as OBIEE 10g schemas and packages will already be there in the database.
If I run RCU again, what will it do???
Has anyone done this before? or any good document available ?
    Many Thanks,
    Ahsan.

  • Hiding columns in pivot table OBIEE 11g

    Hi experts,
I am trying to create a pivot table with individual values in columns but I also need to display a grand total as values but also as percentage and as cumulative percentage.
I duplicated the measure once in the measure area, and selected display data as percentage of column, and another time using display cumulative and percentage of column.
The result is fine, but all the elements are displayed as column for the percentage and for the cumulative. Or, I only need the Grand Total Percentage and Cumulative, but I don't need all the columns for Percentage and cumulative.
I have tried to find out a way to customize the XML but nothing good.
Is there a way to display only the grand total for percentage and cumulative without having to display all the individual columns?
    Any help highly appreciated.
    Regards

If I get your question correctly.. You are trying to present the grand total towards the end of the Pivot and OBIEE is displaying the totals of all the sections and then the Grand Total.
Try not to use the grand total of the sections but create a new pivot view and just display the grand total in that view.
So you will have your normal sections and then another pivot view just for the grand total.
As far as I know, there is no option to hide the individual section totals.

  • Customizing grand total columns in pivot view

    Hi,
I need to customize grand total column name in pivot view
ex: If i have two measure order quantity and order amount when i am selecting aggregation after in column properties it is getting grand total i need to display as grand total for OQ and grand total for OA
    Please give suggestions
    Thanks,
    Kartheek.
    Edited by: 998231 on May 26, 2013 11:31 PM

    Hi Kartheek,
In Pivot View, the default Grand Total can not be renamed to have measure specific grand total labe (The one which we specify in the pivot view either by row or column).
But you can try having one seperate measure (in criteria) which will calculate the grand total of each measure by dimensions, which are available on the report.
In sort you can achieve this using table and narrative view together (Not by pivot view).
Expresion to be used for grand total in report criteria is Sum( Measure By Dim1, dim2... DimN)
where Dim1 and dim2 are the dimesional column available on the report and measure is you OQ/OA.
Create a table view as a default view (do not add any report level agg) and then add narrative view to display the Grand total OQ and Grand Total OA. You can add your custom lables with HTML tag, disply the 1st row only as the values will be repeated for grand total.
If you find any other solution do let me know. As of now I can think of this as a best solution.

  • Download to Excel is hiding rows in a pivot view

    Hello ,
When downloading a report to excel from OBIEE Dashboard , certain rows are getting hidden . For instance , I have total 15 rows in my pivot view and when I download that report into excel format , the rows from 8-13 are not showing up . After 7th row I see 14th row .
But when I download the same report from Answers I can see all rows in the pivot view .
I tried looking at the formatting options of the pivot view and everything is normal . This is happening only with this particular report , other reports in dashboard download normally .
Please let me know if anybody has ideas .
    Thank you
    Karthik

    karthik,
From where ur downloading to excel ...use the download option available at "preview " button ,if you are using the same go with report links download button option
Last option create a new report (without any filters in case if u have)
