I have created an application using DAQ 6009,Now i have created an exe file but whenever i try to run the exe file in another system in which Labview is not installed im getting error that Resources Not Found..
I have installed the following in the system(Runtime engine 2010 and ni-daq Daq Acquistion Software)

Error while running sawserver.exe file

Hi All ,
I installed OBIEE 11.1.5 in my machine and Database is in different machine (For RCU) .OBIEE reports are working fine but, I tried to run sawserver.exe file to register new instanceconfig file to implement multiple rpds and Catalogs in OBIEE 11G by referring the below link.

How to change default directory of exe file

I have created a VI that reads a template and writes on the template and saves it to a new file. When i created to an exe file, I would like for this exe to be able to be used on any computer. As such, the directory where i will open my template will change on different computers. Hence I am having this problem of how to change my VI such that it will choose this template in a new computer and set it as its default directory.
I understand that in my own computer, I can simple "set current values as default" so that my VI will always open this file from a particular path. But what i need help with is when i put it on another computer where the particular path would definitely be different. I tried using the config file.vi but I could not understand how it is used.
Please assist me in this. Thanks

Hi Aaron,
Micorsoft suggest to use folders like UserAppData to store files for your own programs.
Put your template in there and use GetSystemDir function to get the UserAppData path...
Or you put the template in the program folder or one of it's subfolder (not recommended by MS) and use a relative path to load it...

Can we create a single exe file in edge animate

Hi everyone,
I am working on an animation in Adobe Edge Animate. The code written in the file is working fine on the browser. The problem that I am facing is to create an exe file (a single file) in which i can see my animation and controls created. Something like flash's projector file which comes in exe fomat. My client is looking for the output in which he wants the animation in Html5 and there could be a single file to run. There shouldn't be images folder or j-query files, just a single file. Please tell me any tool or way, so that i can get the same output in exe format.
Please help me out in this.

The drivers that you need to install to make your executable work depends on what your executable is doing. To get started, you need to have the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine installed on your target machine (the Win2000 machine you are planning to use) in order to run your executable. Next, you need to determine what drivers your executable uses, if any. For example, if you are using GPIB instrument control, you will need to install the NI-488 drivers on your target machine. If you are performing data acquisition, you will need to install NI-DAQ drivers. If you are doing image acquistion, you will need to install NI-IMAQ drivers.
All these drivers are available for downloading on ni.com. To get the drivers, go to ht
tp://www.ni.com/support , click on the link that takes you to Drivers and Updates (under Option 3), and click on the links to get to the driver(s) you need. For example, if you need the LabVIEW 5.1.1 Run-Time engine, click on the All Drivers and Updates by Application link on the main page (http://www.ni.com/softlib.nsf/). Then click on the LabVIEW link, Windows 2000, Run Time Engine, and then you will see the link to get to the page to download the LabVIEW 5.1.1 Run-Time Engine.

Getting error while creating exe file from my VI.

Stand-Alone Application) but instead of creating exe file, it is creating folder containing my all VI and VI from Application Builder.

It sounds like you might have accidentally selected to create a source distribution instead of an application. That's different from an application. A source distribution basically makes a copy of your VIs into another location so that others can use them for VIs they create. When you expand the Build Specifications tree the icons indicate what kind of build you're creating. An applicaiton has an icon that looks like a tiny window with a title bar. A source distribution has an icon that looks like a folder with the Add function in the upper right:

hello..
   i just make a labview file and tried to make an .exe file..
i show error..   missing of file path of an Icon.. it is in NI Library file..
Why it is not taking the path from thr..
it also showing error that.it may be due to the moving or deleting the File..
Please suggest a Solution to debugg this problem soon..

Try to collect all the files in a single folder and try to build exe again.

Does anyone know how to build an exe file of a complete dsc system ?

Creating an exe file of a VI that uses dsc components is not that difficult, although it could be easier. But, I also use vi-servers to communicate with the tagengine, and this is where I fall short. The document "viserver.pdf" located in the labview\manuals folder, describes how to create, develop and test VI-based servers using vis from the DSC Server Development
palette. But how should a vi-server be handled when used with an application that among other things uses a taglist (scf file) that requires certain vi-servers to run to update tag values etc. I have found that one option is to include the vi-servers in the "LabVIEW DSC Run-Time System 7.0", register them there and include all vis needed f
or them to run in subfolders of the "LabVIEW DSC Run-Time System 7.0". Servers will not load vis from the \vi.lib folder nor from \user.lib or any other \labview 7.0 folder. Can these servers instead be created as exe files, and how can this be done ?

sorry but it's not possible to build an executable from a vi-based server. You need to distribute this type of server as an llb. Please follow this link to the NI knowledge base for more information:

The document is not very specific which options you should use when you save your server vis but I assume it should be "Application Distribution".

I have some doubts regarding some of the Oracle Products.
1. Is it possible to make .exe file in Oracle Forms 6i ?
2. In Oracle 7.3 / Forms 4.5/ Reports 2.5, it was necessary to install Oracle Enterprise at the server and install forms and reports runtime at the nodes. What is the case with Oracle 8i and Forms 6i and Reports 6i.
Do we need to install the runtime at the nodes.
3. If I develop a software using D2k (Forms 6i/Reports 6i) using Oracle 8i, what is required at the client's place to run it. Do they need to buy Oracle 8i as well as D2k(in full) or D2K Runtime is seperately available?

- You cannot create a single exe file for Forms. You will have to install the runtime and then deploy the application fmx files.
To deploy, you will need to install the Forms runtime on each machine which will be running forms. So if you are running client server and you have 100 client machine you would do 100 installs. Alternatively, if you are installing on the Web then you install the runtime on a server and your 100 clients only need to connect from browser.
I'm not sure how the licencing sales are worked out - your account manager would have a better idea but you don;t have to have an 8i for every client (!) - the Forms runtime and the database are separate.

Calling an external program (*.exe file) on the client

Hi,
I use 9iDS and I'd like to call an external program (*.exe file) on the client, but this exe file is located on the server not on the client.
So it should be something like a mixture between host and client_host(webutil) command. Is it possible to use client_host where a virtual path is passed to?

Are you saying you want to run on the exe on the client but its located on the server???
In that case you would have to do a webutil file transfer to move it to the client before executing. Or, if you are calling a DLL, webutil will download it automatically from the server to the client (see the C API example on the webutil page).

How do I get a vi out of an exe file

I cretaed a lab for our undergrads last year and created an exe and installer to load this on to lab computers. I then altered the initial vi and created another exe file and installer. I am trying to see the difference in the two but I can't find my orignial vi files anywhere. Of course I took no notes and I have misplaced my install disk.
Can I get the vi files out of an exe file somehow? I have version 6i and 7.

Webserver in seperate exe file??

Hi Guys
So - I'm developing a piece of software that aqquires data from a USB board - this has been working well for years, everybody is happy..
Now I want to publish the results to users via the NI web server.. Using the web publishing tool I have created a html doc from a sub VI within the main application with the front panel I wish to publish, and that displays various values updated every 5 seconds..(the monitor function, NOT remote control).. I quickly realized that when a number of browsers are looking at the VI my main application starts to hang - have not been able to fully understand why, but I guess the NI core waits for each request to be shipped.. not really a problem since I'm not doing a VI to be published on facebook with +1.000.000 viewers - but since it potentially stalls the entire application, I risk that my measurement is disrupted, which is a no go, since the measurement may be in the field somewhere, and not next to a guy at an office desk.. Thus - I moved the call to the sub-VI into an external call using a static VI reference and the front panel open / Run methods and the "wait untill Done" flag set to false.
This too is working very well and inside the development system I can now "sabotage" the application with multiple hits on the "refresh" button of a browser without stalling the application.. now problems arise - part because I do not have a full working knowledge of how the runtime engine operates, i guess - but... when I build this program into an exe, I can again stall the program by hitting the "refresh" button fast.... I assume that the runtime engine treats everything called from within the exe file in one thread??
Questions:
Is there a way (in a labVIEW .EXE file) to call a VI from another VI that totally separates them from each other so that if 'mainprogram' calls 'webserver', and 'webserver' hangs for some reason, this does not cause 'mainprogram' to equally hang? Could I for instance change the execution system of the VI with all 'webserver' related contant in the "execution" options?
If not - I guess building two exe files 'mainprogram' & 'webserver' and then launch 'webserver' using system exec from 'mainprogram' will prove a solution.
however - this means that now passing of data is no longer possible - in 2010 using lv8.6, what is the best means to move data back and forth between two seperate exe files? Ideally I would send a cluster of refnum's of the indicators from 'mainprogram' then read the values of these in 'webserver' and update the display here - but is the reference addresses from one exe, anything worth in the other exe (two seperate address spaces etc)?
Should I learn to use datasockets - or would a TCP approach be the best? We are not talking massive amounts of data - in the area of 15 value and string controls + 2 graphs with less than 1000 points. Remember that this should only be done locally between two exe files on the same computer, to I would prefer to keep this as simple as possible - something like a pipe used in Unix code.
Last but not least - is there a way to run 'webserver' as some sort of service, so that the user will avoid having a window open he does not need, or a minimized 'webserver' window in the taskbar?
many questions - and yes I know that I can read all about datasockets and TCP in the forum halls - and I'm doing it, but I would prefer to not waste too many days brushing up on new stuff not needed because my plan is wack from the start..

I know that in order to display a any file(or)program in java applets you need to use showDocument().Where you cannot use exec() in java applets.
My problem is that when i use showDocument() to display .exe file.It is showing a file download dialog box.If we click & open only it is opening that .exe file.Here i want to open the .exe file without showing that file download dialog box in java applets.
Since,i am undergoing a project which involves it,it is quite urgent.pls.do provide the exact code in java applet without showing that file download dialog box.If it can't be done pls. do provide any other possibilities in order to be displayed on the browser.Thank U.

I think you it's better to write a server socket program
in server and open a socket connection to server socket then
send exe file content via connection.
(I guess you know applets only have permission to open socket connection to their code base)
