Exe Fullscreen mode kiosk question

We develop Flash demos for touchscreen kiosks and export them to a exe file, then run in fullscreen mode which works great, except for when windows has an update or anything notification in general it pulls the exe out of fullscreen mode and makes the desktop accessible. So I guess what I am really asking is if anyone else has encountered this problem, or would know a solution for locking the exe in fullscreen mode unless esc is pressed (there is a keyboard locked in the kiosk) no matter what is happening with the operating system.

I realize this isn't something that Flash is responsible for, I was just hoping to find someone who has encountered the same problem and who they were able to correct it. Since we have numerous kiosks out there that need this corrected switching to AIR would have to be a last resort, but I plan on looking into it for future projects.

Visualizer with update not working in fullscreen mode

I just did the most recent itunes download and now the visualizer won't go into fullscreen mode! Even if I press command + F. Please help!

Help about importing files and fullscreen mode

sorry but i'm kinda new about this. I'm creating a kiosk for my company which uses a touchscreen PC like what you see in the malls right now i.e directory. Im using flash cs5 and AS3. My problem is when I imported video / swf file in my stage (which is in full screen when loaded in projector), the video / swf file automatically change to full screen also. What I like to do is even if my window is in full screen mode, the video will still be the same what I set it to be. For you to imagine what im doing is in my homepage, my buttons would be video/swf files placed side by side. Once I click on one video it will go to another scene just like a website. I tried to google about this but no luck, all i find is how to import. These are the codes i used to load my project in fullscreen mode automatically.

as u have said, i remove scale_fit line but still in full screen. when I run s swf file the video automatically converted to full screen. what i only want to make full screen is the stage where the video is located. is there some command i need to do on this? I tried to use this using AS2 and its ok, the video didn't go full screen even the stage itself is in fullscreen. but i really want to use AS3 because of some features. If you can help, it will be great. Thanks lot!

Anyone using the magic trackpad with iPhoto 11 in fullscreen mode?

I love fullscreen mode in the new release of iPhoto. Does the magic trackpad make it more iPad/phone like?

To answer you question, no. I have the trackpad and it does NOT make the experience any different than it is on a laptop. There is NOT any iPad like gestures that are included in the Photo App on the iPad. I thought there would be some but unfortunately there are not magic things LIKE the iPad

Exclusive Fullscreen mode

Whilst i can switch my windows into fullscreen mode via graphicdevice that doesn't make Windows, so for platform inter exchangability, i'm emulating a fullscreen setting, by extending the window beyond the bounds of the screen, which works grand.
Regardless of GraphicsDevice way or the (dodgy) Windows way, i can't get something that hides the kicker in KDE (3.1 or 3.0.5 or 3.0.3) or the taskbar.
So my question how do i get the OS (or whatever) to return a true on GraphicsEnvironment's .isFullScreenSupported()?
OR
How do I get something like an "Always on top" setting, which would (in theory) go over the top of the taskbar / kicker.
If more detail is required on what the problem is, grab the code from http://naiv.sourceforge.net , and check it out.
The code in question is in NAIV_Viewer.java at setupFullscreenSupport().
Any help would be appreachiated.

Check out the Java Tutorial on Full Screen Exclusive mode in the tutorials homepage. You will need JDK1.4 for this.
As for the Always on top code, I have some code that a kind person named Mitch Goldstein posted here in the forum. You can email him for this code but ask someone in this forum for his email address as I dont have it.

How to stop exiting fullscreen mode

I am having a problem with a projector I just published for
Windows.
I am using AS2 Flash Player 8 because of all the bugs with
AS3.
My projector opens fine in fullscreen mode using
fscommand("fullscreen", "true");
On one frame I have a button that has fscommand("exec",
"myApp.exe"); This works fine as well.
The problem is that while launching the application my
projector leaves fullscreen mode and becomes a smaller window.
Is there any way to stop this from happening? I have
projectors that were created in Flash Player 6 where this problem
doesn't occur. I can't publish this in FP6 because it has FLVs.

Runnning MAC OS X (Lion 10.7.5). I bookmarked sites I frequent to display beneath address bar. Problem: When I go to fullscreen mode, they disappear.

When I go to fullscreen mode, all my bookmarks disappear. When I minimize the window, they reappear.
My question is: How do I keep my bookmarks ontop/displayed so that when I'm in fullscreen mode, I don't have to minimize the window to click on a bookmark then go back to fullscreen mode.
The autohide mode during fullscreen I do not mind just the issue with my bookmarks disappearing during fullscreen mode

How do i hide url WITHOUT hiding tabs in fullscreen mode (F11)?

Title says it all. I want a fullscreen mode that works exactly like it did in Firefox 4.0.

There are some hacky things you can do with the toolbar area in full screen mode. I worked on one recently to keep the Bookmarks Toolbar displayed. Hopefully someone can work out the rules for the tab bar.

BugReport : System Dead when change display rotation with fullscreen mode app

There is a big bug in fullscreen mode with display rotation.
I find that if you try dispaly rotation after make some app(safari) fullscreen mode then the system crash.
1. I have mac book pro 13Inch Mid 2010,
2. Add one more display (display2)
3. open safari, make fullscreemode at display 2
4. open system preferences > displays > change display 2 rotations setting.
then CRASH and System Dead.

I just have a little question if I choosed compiz it s for there plugin they have, called "scale" that whenever yout put your mouse on a corner its shows all the windows that you have on the current screen. A bit like Mac OS X. I am not a fanatic of Alt TAB to switch windows, and I really find convenient this plugin.
Do you know if it would be possibile such a thing on LXDE openbox with compton ?

PrintJob exits fullscreen mode, cs5 + flashplayer 10.1

Hi there,
I got a printJob object in Flash CS5. When I execute the print function, the flashplayer exits the fullscreen mode when the printing window appears.
This problem only occurs in windows, with mac osx everything works fine.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Everything disappears when I'm in Fullscreen Mode. What do I do?

I'm running a standalone EXE file via the Projector (or whatever it's called when you run a standalone EXE file made with Flash). It's NOT a web-based application. Every time I go to fullscreen mode, I just get a blank screen. All of the images are gone. However, if I press Esc to exit the full screen mode, then the pictures appear again. Is this a bug with Flash CS3?
This is what I put in the first frame of my movie in the 'actions' section:

When I run the Flash program (as an exe file), the program goes fullscreen, but all of the elements on the stage disappear, leaving the screen blank. However, when I exit out of fullscreen mode (by pressing ESC) then everything looks like it's supposed to, with the images showing up and everything.
Is there any way to fix this?

I'm using a Dell laptop with Windows 7. I've set the resolution to 1024x768, though the maximum resolution on this can go as high as 1366x768. So this is a problem that no one has been able to figure out? I've ran lots of other Flash-based applications that went fullscreen with no problem, so I'm wondering what other methods there are to try, if possible.

How to I get iPhoto to stop opening in fullscreen mode?

Every time I open iPhoto, it opens in fullscreen mode. It's as if there is a setting that has been set for it to do it(though I've checked the settings and there's no such thing). I usually exit fullscreen mode in the usual way and it cooperates, but then sure enough, the next time I open it up, it's in fullscreen mode again. Additionally, perhaps it is linked to this problem, everytime I open iPhoto, it tells me that "iPhoto has detected inconsistencies in your[my] library" and that I should "click Repair to avoid any potential problems". I've clicked repair numerous times but it still gives me the same message the next time I start the program. I've tried deleting the iPhoto plist file and that has not helped either.
Another side note that may be similar is that Terminal always opens in fullscreen just like iPhoto.

But basically, you do the following:
1. Navigate to "~/Library/Saved Application State/"
2. Find "com.apple.iPhoto.savedState"
3. Move it to the Trash
4. Launch iPhoto
Also, to solve the issue involving "Repairing" the Library, I had to navigate to the file "iPhoto library" (in ~/Users/dro8654/Pictures) and edit its "Sharing & Permissions" preferences such that only MY user was allowed to "Read & Write"

Is there a quick way to open a resident video in fullscreen mode?

Short and not-so-simple, I have a client who requires the following:
Starting from the home screen, he wants the shortest number of taps to open a video (resident on the device) in fullscreen mode. Ideally, I wanted to have a "shortcut" on his home screen that opens a directory on his iPad that contains videos. Unfortunately, iOS does not allow for this. In fact, finding resident files on the HDD at all doesn't seem so easy.
For now, I have him going to his camera, switching to video, and then opening the Video Roll to access videos I've downloaded to his iPad from various sources like email attachments or download links. This is definitely not a long-term solution.
To clarify, the client needs to be able to bring up one of several videos near-instantly, with no buffering and in many cases without an active internet connection. He wants his iPad to be a video gallery, with "a two-click process." Someone (such as myself) would be syncing/uploading the videos as they are created, updated, or replaced, so getting videos onto his iPad easily and remotely (if possible) is also a desire (Dropbox or iTunes?).
Can someone please give me some advice? I am an idiot with iOS, as I spend all of my time on Android devices.

How can I see my movie in FullScreen mode

Hello everyone,
I've converted all my divx and other DVD Rip (home made) with AVS Video Converter Pro in order to import them in iTunes ... I try to see one oh these movies with my Apple TV thanks to my shared iTunes Library ... it's works but the video take only 2/3 of my TV screen ... I've got a 46" and 36" but this problem appear on both.
I want to see my movie on FullScreen mode not only 2/3
I checked video format and it's the same as the original movie (I tried to show this movie thanks to my Playstation 3 and it works in FullScreen .... but I want to use Apple TV for all my music and movies instead my Play Station
So is there any option or anything to do to enable FullScreen mode for my video ... do I have to convert my DivX in an other format ?
