How to execute a query than open a popup?

Hi,
We created a custom OA module. This module has buttons on it. Those buttons generates events. Depending on each event, I should execute a query, transform the result in a xml than open a popup and pass the xml content to the jsp page that was opened.
what have I done so far:
- Threat the events generated by the buttons - That is being done on the processFormRequest in the CO;
- The CO has to call a AM method to execute a query. That is not done but it is easy to do it;
- The "resultset" of the query has to be transformed to a xml. If some one can give me a clue how to do it would be nice;
- Finally, in the CO with the xml, open a popup passing the xml. How can this be done?.

You can get the VO resultset as XML using writeXML method in VOImpl.- Finally, in the CO with the xml, open a popup passing the xml. How can this be done?.
Is the new page being opened a OAF page ? if yes then you can just retain the AM when you go to the new page and you will have the VO with the data in it, you can then use the VO as is or write the XML from the VO data.If , on the other hand, your new page is not a OAF page and is a simple jsp, then
I dont think it is a good idea to pass the entire resultset as a XML to the target page, instead, you can just popup the page on press of the button and execute and generate the XML in the target page.

Executing a column which has a sql query in a tabular form

Hi,
I have a tabular form which contains a column named as SQL which has sql statements in it. Without going to the SQL workshop in Apex i want to execute that query in the tabular form itself. For that i've created a page item which fetches the particular rows sql query and created a button 'EXECUTE'. When i click the execute button it should run the query and should display whether the query is correct or not and should show the error message.
Can any one provide solution for this or whether there are any other ways to achive this scenario.

Error in executing Std query - Incorrect FRANGE row in FORM/DIM?FAC

NOTE: We are on BI 7.0 Spport Pack 12 (SAPKW70012)...
When I try to execute a query(one of the standard queries in HR - 0PA_C01_Q021), I got the following error messages:
ABEND: Incorrect FRANGE row in FORM/DIM?FAC for InfoObject 0AGE
ABEND: Incorrect FRANGE row in FORM/DIM?FAC for InfoObject 0ORGUNIT
ABEND: Program error in class SAPMSSY1 method: UNCAUGHT EXCEPTION
I searched the OSS and found a note 1001621 which said apply support package: SAP_BW_VIRTUAL_COMP - Rel 700 - Pkg name SAPK70012NVCBWTECH
But, our basis guys came back with the reply that the solution suggested in OSS note is for SAPKW70011, but our system is already on SAPKW70012. So, this note cannot be applied.
Is there any hidden solution out there? Please respond asap.

Hi Raj and Sunny,
Actually solution is very simple. You have to open this query in Query Designer and redefine the corresponding selection. The problem is that OLAP in BW 7.x is much more strict to query definition than in BW 3.x. Therefore queries from BW 3.x are not accepted quite often. This error is just one example. So try to touch the corresponding selection using hierarchy and save a query once again. For sure this will help. If not, create a message, we will look at the problem directly in your system.

Open APPS form login in enter-query mode

i'm confused if this is an EBS or Forms post . So after having no answer in EBS i decided to post it again in forms.

i've created a shourtcut link that opens a specific apps form on specific responsability like

the problem now that i want to send parameters for this form and execute query on this parameter
so
is there a way to open apps form and send parameters then execute-query directly from shourtcut or link created on the desktop ?

Central Management server - executed a query but how to send the query output in the form of mail?

i have used CMS in SQL 2008 R2. i have added couple of servers in its group. i have executed a query & i need to send the query output in the form of email.
basically query is checking the rows count from couple of user tables in servers.
issue here is how to copy the data that is used by CMS? i need to work on automate the rows count in difft user table in db servers

Enter / Execute Query Anomoly in Web Forms

Hi, I have a problem when running Oracle Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.11.3 (Production) in client server mode vs web mode.
The problem is that the f7 (Enter Query Mode) button will put the field into enter query but when you go to type something in the field it will say that the field is protected against update even though the property on the field is not protected. I have proved this by running the same form in client server mode where is no issue.
I have also tried running the form using the web mode button in Oracle Forms but the error still occurs. Has anyone else come across this as it is causing me a big problem.
I have recently taken over support of an application from someone else and the form that is in the production environment does not have this issue, although it was compiled some time ago. Maybe a problem has been introduced in a newer version of forms.
I have tried compiling my form on my PC and on the Windows 2000 server that the forms server executes on and still the same problem occurs. Any help would be much appreciated

I have figured out what has caused this now. It is the values in the file FMRWEB.res which instruct the machine what to do when the F7 or F8 key is pressed. In fact when pressing F7 I was not going into enter query mode but was attempting to enter a new block. The keys for Enter query in default forms is F11 and CTRL F11 to Execute the query. You can overwrite the file FMRWEB.res on your local machine or server with the file FMRPCWEB.res which will give you the client server forms settings. However be aware that some of these keys may conflict with shortcut keys in your browser.

Open multiple forms, few in Enter-Query mode

Hi All,
I want to open multiple forms from a form using open_form built-in. If user clicks on different items of the parent form different child forms are invoked.
But if one child form is opened in Enter-Query mode (I have 'enter_query;' in its when-new-form-instance) it does not allow to put focus back on parent form and invoke other forms until I execute_query in child form or close the child form.

Clear form upon opening document

I have a two page form. I can clear the first page by clearing it on opening via the page property opening actions - clear form ... but if I do that and scroll to the second page and back to the first .. I loose everything that was entered as I guess I'm "reopening" the page. Is there a way I can clear the form upon opening the document with a document level javascript??

I used this to cover all the fields and it worked:

I tried using the expression /^Q/ rather than type out all the Q1, Q2, etc but couldn't get it to work ... so typed it all out ... is there and easier way for me to do this in the future?

How to execute the query from different blocks in Forms

Hi,
Curently I have a case where I need to execute the query from some other block. I used
l_curr_item VARCHAR2(62) := :SYSTEM.CURSOR_ITEM;
Go_Block ('BLOCK2');
Execute_Query;
Go_Item(l_curr_item);
This works fine , but as I am using Go_Block it does some other activities related to that block, which I dont want them to get executed.
So can any one please suggest me how I can call the query alone without using the Go_Block .

you can set global variable and filter for this variable in the triggers of blocks the actions then you avoid the code of trigger and you can use go_block

Query about Calling One Form from Another using Personalization

Hi All,
I have created a Custom form using TEMPLATE.fmb and created functions in Apps and assigned to Responsibility etc and it all works OK.
Now, I need to call this Custom form from another seeded(PO form) Via Tools -> Menu.
using Forms personalization I can get the Menu Entry and Actions to execute the Form successfully from the PO Form.
BUT, I need it to automatically query records in my CUSTOM form based on my current PO_HEADER_ID value on my PO Form.
How can I do it ?
Do I need to modify my Block and add some parameters and then pass a value via Personalization ?

This article explains how to open the AR transactions form from another form. When it opens the form it automatically queries for the Invoice number of the calling form. You should be able to use this logic for your requirement.

Running a query from a called form programmatically

I would like to run a query from a called form using the same criteria as the calling form used, this is my situation;
I have a form with a field called IDNO when I execute the query I have code in the KEY-EXEQRY that first checks the HOLDER table to see if the IDNO exists if it does, the query will continue as normal and the record will be shown in the form, if it does not exist I have to query another table called DISTRIBUTOR which also has a field called IDNO. I would this to happen without any intervention from the user, in other words the the code that I have will call the second form and must execute the query. This is what I have so far in the KEY-EXEQRY.

How to open a form from Oracle XML Report .xls Output?

Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein we have one complex SQL query, requirement is to fetch the data from that query and show it to the user. So far, so good. We can either create a report thru' UTL file to show the output to the user or can create a XML report whose output can be in the excel format.
Now user wants to have a hyperlink i.e. when he clicks the BSA (Blanket Sales Agreement) from the report output, it should be able to route him to BSA screen (oracle form), so that he can directly correct the issue with that corresponding BSA on which he clicked.
i.e. requirement is to create a a hyperlink from report output which will route the user to that oracle form with the BSA queried.
Not sure how can we implement this. If anybody has come across this type of requirement, please share your ideas and the approach used so as to accomplish this. Any inputs on this will be highly appreciated.

we create reports in an XML format using http://matzberger.de/oracle/spreadsheet-en.html.
Within these files you can create hyperlinks to a forms application like
http://<applicationserver>/forms/frmservlet?config=xy&p_autoinit_module=ab&p_autoinit_arg=123
With these parameters we call a default forms module (welcome screen) and then start module ab and execute a query for 123. The user then can directly access the data he needs.

Can I stop a report from Re-executing the query when I go back to that page

I have a report that has a complicated query and looks at a lot of information to display the results. This query then links of to show details of individual items that were displayed in the result. But when I hit the back button on the browser, it executes the query again and it takes a while for the page to load.
Is there any way to stop this and only execute the query when the User pushes a Button on the page else display the previous results.

Another alternative is to make that detail link open in a popup window using
javascript:popupURL(...);This way, the complicated report page is always visible.
