How to execute the query from different blocks in Forms
Hi,
Curently I have a case where I need to execute the query from some other block. I used
l_curr_item VARCHAR2(62) := :SYSTEM.CURSOR_ITEM;
Go_Block ('BLOCK2');
Execute_Query;
Go_Item(l_curr_item);
This works fine , but as I am using Go_Block it does some other activities related to that block, which I dont want them to get executed.
So can any one please suggest me how I can call the query alone without using the Go_Block .
Thank you.
you can set global variable and filter for this variable in the triggers of blocks the actions then you avoid the code of trigger and you can use go_block

Now create a button may be your "apply button" write two trigger when-button-press and when-mouse-click.
at When -Button-Press trigger, change the block state to 'ENTER-QUERY' and at when-mouse-click show the LOV and then write execute_query.
Hope this will help you.

Thanks,
KVRHi,
The web template 0ADHOC is usually the standard web template for 3.x queries. The Report Designer executes the reports in java web, thus tries to find the template 0ADHOC in the 7.0 templates and does not find it. Check whether you have maintained the standard web template 0ADHOC for 7.0 reports also:
Transaktion SPRO -> SAP Reference Image -> SAP NetWeaver -> Business Intelligence -> Settings for Reporting and Analysis -> Bex Web -> Set Standard Web Templates

How to get the value from another report Customizes Form
Dear all,
I create a report such as
select * from mytable.table1
where field1 = :bind_variable
I create a menu to run this Customized Form and user have to select the bind_variable values. So I have another report created which also want this bind_variable as it WHERE Clause. But I don't want my user to key the same bind variable twice. They can just same the Customized Form and run for both report.
Could anybody know how to get the bind_variable on 1st report and used by the 2nd report.
Thank you very much.
Best Rgds,
SL VoonHi,
are you on BI7.0? There you can create variables type replacement path and get the value out from a different variable without any coding.

Execute a Query from a report sending it parameters and capture the result
Hello everybody,
Greetings from Peru, I want your help, Do you know how to execute a query from a report sending parameteres and capture the result in a internal table?
The attached imaged has in red square the parameteres I want to send from a report.
The idea is to have a JOB that executes everyday and parameters like DATE PERIOD will change automatically.
Thanks for your time.Hi Enrique,
You can call a query from a report by using submit statement.
Every query has a corresponding program associated with it.
Execute the query from SQ01. On te selection screen of query, goto SYSTEM from menu and then click on STATUS, you will get program name (In this case aqzzzent_struct=zmm_ent_struc1). Use this program to call the query from your custom program.
Also populate the rspar int table as per the selection criteria you want to pass to query.
DATA: rspar TYPE TABLE OF rsparams,
wa_rspar LIKE LINE OF rspar.
wa_rspar-selname = 'SP$00001'.
wa_rspar-kind = 'S'.
wa_rspar-sign = 'I'.
wa_rspar-option = 'BT'.
wa_rspar-low = s_cmp_cd-low.
wa_rspar-high = s_cmp_cd-high.
APPEND wa_rspar TO rspar.
SUBMIT aqzzzent_struct=zmm_ent_struc1 WITH SELECTION-TABLE rspar AND RETURN.
Thanks,

Hello All,

same query i run through RSRT its showing value for example: value is 615574389.260
if the value is more then web cannot display the result? how to correct it, Thanks!
Regards,
Ranga
Edited by: Ranga123 on Jan 30, 2012 6:09 PMHi Ranga,
Does your Key Figure also have unit? Usually we get * when records with different units are aggregated. As you cannot add 1 EURO to 1$, * is displayed.

While executing the query the output is completey different from the query
Dear friends,
We built a query and loaded the data for that infoprovider.
While executing the query the output is completey different from the query what we have built.
Output has no relevance to the query.
Kindly help the same.
Regards,
SathyaHI Satya,
In my opinion the issue is with your front end.
Results should be identical in RSRT, BEx Analyzer (Workbooks) and the ABAP-Web since all three frontend tools use the "ABAP Runtime layer".
It may differ In the Portal where the new "Java Runtime layer". (Java-Web.) is used.
This is given in OSS Note 1296576 - Different Query Behaviour: ABAP - Java.
So i think the problem lies in your analyser. If you are using Analyzer: BI Add on 7.X (Based on 7.10) try and get support package 8.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

Tuning is NOT about reducing the cost of i/o.
i/o is only one of many contributors to cost and only one of many contributors to waits.
Any time you would like to explore this further run this code:
SELECT 1 FROM dual
WHERE regexp_like(' ','^*[ ]*a');but not on a production box because you are going to experience an extreme tuning event with zero i/o.
And when I say "extreme" I mean "EXTREME!"
You've been warned.I think you just need a faster server.
