Exited abnormally: Segmentation fault
I see that 'Exited abnormally: Segmentation fault' is very common with Leopard and would be grateful if somebody could explain it and say if this is a Leopard fault which Apple will eventually fix.
I had it earlier and it appeared to crash the OS. I could still move the curser with my mouse but it had disabled the keyboard. The screen retained its pre-crash items. There was a small amount of disk activity but I could only recover with a forced reboot.
The only Console evidence was:

It transpires that there are several ways to achieve reasonable line spacing whilst preserving line length and white space in order to display crash reports etc on Apple discussion pages but one of the simplest is the use of 'pre' tags combined with a line height style. For example use the following:

I am using the following plugin version:

The OS is a stock RHEL 5.4 (64 bit)
Any ideas?I've tried to upgrade to plugin version 1.1, but now it refuses to use SSL between the proxy and the weblogic server.

It looks like you will have to upgrade to at least Apache 2.0.39. We had to do
this on Solaris 8 as well.

UPDATE: It works with apache 2.2.17-1 if you stop and start the daemon after the downgrade.

Apache Exit Signal Segmentaiton Fault
Hi folks.
Was coding along, then BOOM! I started getting these in my apache logs:
[notice] child pid 89 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
So what's the problem? Why all of a sudden I can't view anything? It is reaching into my coded files and responding with the proper feedback, and now apache won't play.
I've checked the forums and it seems others have faced the same problem. But I can't figure out what they did to fix it. I don't use iDisk.
Any help appreciated.
CheersFixed it. Was a combination of regex in an apache directive, and my own code.

Segmentation fault on program exit

To whoever could help me, I wish to describe a big problem I am facing on my SOLARIS 9 server (UltraSparc III+).
I am porting some C applications (without multithread) from UNIX SCO to Solaris 9 (I am using Sun Studio 10.),
but all the executables generated end with a Segmentation Fault(coredump).
For instance, when using dbx with my ua_wait executable, going step by step I can see the program execution without any error
till the end of the program (the last closing brackets): after that, the program crashes.
Additionally, when launching dbx with the following command:
dbx -C -I /usr1/source/UA605/UTOOLS bin/ua_wait
I get the following output:

Please note that all the executables must be 32 bit ones, as they have to link to a 32 bit shared library (libma.so) previously installed by another software.

Additional information about the generation of the executables:
In order to generate the ua_wait executable, I first compiled the object files in this way:
cc -g -G -c <source-file> -DSun -xtarget=ultra3 -xarch=v8plus -xcode=pic32 -features=no%extinl
then I compiled the static libraries this way:
ar -c -r -u <static library> <object list>
and then I built the executable through the LD command this way:
ld -o ua_wait ua_wait.o staticlib1.a staticlib2.a staticlib3.a staticlib4.a libma.so -lm -lc
The output of the
file ua_wait
command is
ELF 32-bit MSB executable SPARC32PLUS Version 1, V8+ Required, dynamically linked, not stripped

Segmentation fault
If I start up easytag while running KDE3 (kdemod), I get this problem every time. I have tried running it with openbox and it runs without a problem. I have deleted .easytag and reinstalled, but the problem continues.
EDIT: Installing libbonoboui resolves the problem. It looks like the there is a dependency issue here, I'll file a bug.

After the most recent 10.5.2 security update, it appears something broke ssh. Now each time I launch SSH, I get an immediate segmentation fault (no core dump). However, if I run the command as root (sudo ssh <address>) it appears to work.
Were any file permissions adjusted in the linked libraries or something? I suspect something is fishy if root can run it okay.
Has anyone else encountered this?

If I run the gdb debugger on /opt/Adobe/Reader9/Reader/intellinux/bin/acroread, it shows the segmentation fault occurring inside /opt/Adobe/Reader9/Reader/intellinux/plug_ins/PPKLite.api (but since the file is stripped, all it shows is the binary offset of the segfault). I do have a coredump, though.
If I remove the PPKLite.api file (or rename it to PPKLite.api.hide -- note that chmod -x does not work, nor does renaming it to something else that still ends in .api, unlike some workarounds I've seen on the web for similar problems in earlier versions of Adobe Reader), then Adobe Reader can open the file without crashing, except that without PPKLite it cannot validate its signature and so it displays the message "This document enabled extended features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document" -- which I assume is because the signature validation failed due to the absence of PPKLite so it things the document has been altered even though it hasn't been.
So this removing or renaming of PPKLite.api works around the problem of the crash, at the expense of getting this misleading warning message.
However, obviously there is a problem inside PPKLite.api that needs to be fixed....I'm seeing what must be the same issue: acroread foo.pdf exits almost instantly without any message, but with status 1.
This is: AdobeReader_enu-9.3.1-1.i486 on a Fedora 12 box, AMD Phenom II 945.
If I set ACRODEBUG=1 and ACRO_CRASHLOG=1 and ulimit -c unlimited, and rename PPKLite.api, *then* I get a nonzero crashlog. Which is:

So there was a problem with my fonts, I don't know why this happened but I'm happy to have solved.

Segmentation fault when enabling replication with SQL API

I've compiled BDB 5.3.21 on Ubuntu 11.04 (x86) with the following configure options:
../dist/configure enable-sql enable-sql_compat enable-debug enable-tcl --with-tcl=/usr/lib
I was able to follow the Replication Usage Examples given in "Getting Started with the SQL APIs" to set up a set of replicated master/client databases.
However, after I exited out of the dbsql session that started replication on the master database and re-opened the master database with dbsql, executing "pragma replication_initial_master=ON;" followed by "pragma replication=ON;" led to a segmentation fault. gdb showed that the segmentation fault occurred at:

You need to specify the replication_initial_master and replication pragmas as part of initially creating your SQL database. The replication_initial_master pragma is not used or needed after the initial database creation at the initial master site. The replication=on pragma is a persistent setting that we remember internally the first time you specify it. This means that after specifying replication=on for the first time on a site, we will automatically restart replication for you in future dbsql sessions when we open the underlying Berkeley DB environment.
This gives you a very simple workaround: don't respecify replication=on when you reenter dbsql.
Of course, we shouldn't be crashing on an unnecessary pragma. I have added this to our list of fixes to consider for the future.
