Exiting from video help?

Probably the main frustration I have encountered with the new 5G iPod Video, is how to exit from a Movie I am viewing. That is, I am viewing a movie and wish to stop and shut down the iPod. I can eventually get this to work, but I have not figured out the proper shutdown steps. I get it to eventually work by just button clicking until it happens.
One example is while watching a video, I select the Play/Pause button to stop the video. Then I exit to the Menu. But if I select the Play/Pause button again and hold it (for shutdown), it will start playing the video.
Second example is while watching a video, I select the Play/Pause button to stop the video. If I then select the Play/Pause button again and hold it (for shutdown), it will start playing the video.
Anybody have the correct procedures to get out of Video mode?

When the movie is playing, press and hold play/pause and the iPod will shut off.
If you exit the video first (or pause it), you have to wait for the hard drive to stop spinning (or until you go to a different mode) before it will shut down.

  • Importing frames from video help please

    Why is photoshop elelments 9 not recognizing .wmv or .avi files when trying to import photos from videos. I have used this feature before without problems using .wmv videos, why did it quit working all of the sudden?

    When something goes awry, start by resetting the preferences. Quit the editor, then restart it from the button in the organizer or the button in the Welcome Screen, whilie holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (command+option+shift on a mac). Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.
    However, having said that, are you sure these wmv files are the same as the ones you did before? Frame from video doesn't work with high-def videos, for example, and it's not great with long ones, either.

  • When i try and stream apple tv, i get exited from video.  The ticked Apple TV icon reverts back to the IPAD.  It tries to load and then exits me...any help/ tips?

    I have ticked the apple TV icon, the video then tries to load and then it drops off.  The ticked Apple TV icon reverts back to IPAD....it occasionally does load but only 1 time in 10.  i have good wifi signal and the ipad always recognises the apple tv icon but the video does not appear...
    Any tips appreciated, i have a new ipad air and new Apple TV box

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
    Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
    Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • Removing color gradient background from video - help needed

    Hello everyone,
    I shot my son playing the violin against a white backdrop today, and what was pure white didn't turn out to be very white, I have gray
    areas, off white areas because of incorrect lighting.
    I want the background to be more white and more even than what it is right now.
    I thought of moving the video from track 1 up to track 2.
    I added in a title, which consists of a big box of white ( using the retangular tool I just drew a large white retangle that covers the entire movie area )
    Now to remove some of that white backdrop, I thought I would try some of the tools below, to remove the real backdrop, and let the white retangle
    from track 1 come through. ( so that the pure white comes through from track 1. )
    I've been going through the various options,
    - Chroma Key
    - Color Key
    - Change Color
    - Change To Color
    After 30 some minutes of fldding around, I thought I would just stop, and ask for help.  How would you proceed with this ?
    What process would you use ?
    I'm just puzzled as to which tool is best suited for a job like this, because right now my results are not to my liking, and it's just hard to get anything
    that looks good at all.
    Thanks for all help,
    Dave.

    Hi Harm,
    Thanks for the great response, I don't have Ultra CS3, but will look into Keylight.  I'm going to try the garbage mattes and chroma key route
    for now and see what I can do.
    You are indeed a weatlh of info.
    Thanks again,
    Dave.

  • Ver 5.02, trying to grab an image from video. Program ffreezes when I hit 'done'. Help appreciated!

    I am trying to capture a video frame image, using "Import --> frame from video".  I can get through the process,  to "Done" when the program freezes and I have to exit the program using Taskmaster.  Computer using Win 7 and Photo elements v5.02. Can anyone help please. thank you.

    Frame from video is very old and it has been dropped from recent versions because it's really meant for web sized videos that are a minute or two long. It will not grab a frame from any HD video and it doesn't like videos of any great length. It dates from the days when a 30 second 300 x 400 format was usual for the  video generally available in a digital camera.

    on f4 for p1 i am displaying two field in search help output, p1 and p2.
    i am using search help exit FM to pass value from s1, not using any view or table infact extracting data using other function module. i am filling.
    what i want , when i make a selection on f4 for p1, p2 should also be filled from the same search help s1.
    i allready tried memory id-export option in my search help exit at RETURN event but that does not fits well.
    ASAP reply higly appreciated
    will reward point for sure

    thanks a lot it worked out by defining search help for structure which contain these two fields.

  • Removing Audio From Video (Problem 2) !!!HELP!!!

    I have succesfully managed to remove audio and add new audio to an (avi) video. However, when I tried to do the same thing with an new (mpeg) video/ soundtrack. Logic did not allow me to extract audio from video or give me the option to de-select audio tracks when bouncing. So when I extract video with audio I get the old audio track plus the new audio combined. Is it do with the video format? can I convert video formats in logic? many thanks, Ben.

    open in quicktime, then click save as and save as a .mov file. This should work. Not sure why this is happening though. Let me know if this works...
    Please remember the helpful and solved problem....

    What kind of videos are you watching?
    You need to force quit Safari, but hitting Command-option-esc, and force quit Safari.

  • Sound from video shuts down when I exit iPod application on my iPhone

    I have 1Gen iPhone with 2.2.1 firmware (5H11).
    I have certain video files (primarily, videocasts not from iTunes and video interviews) which I only listen (not view) when I am commuting, exercising in the gym, running etc.
    Every time I turn the screen off or exit iPod application on my iPhone - the video shuts down. That ***** because sometimes I need to reply to SMS, check the calendar, etc.
    I looked through the settings - there is no way to solve this problem. Are there any alternative ways? Extracting the audio from video files is a solution, but I don't want to waste time on this.

    yes, when you lock the iPhone, the video playback stops. the only real solution you have is to extract the audio. depending on the length of the file, this can take between 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. even extracting the audio from full length movies only took about 10 minutes, so it is not a highly interactive process. google 'audio extraction' and depending on your computer, you will probably find some free programs that will do it.

    I am trying to switch from video to camera and when I push on the photo button, it remains on video.  I've tried turning it on and off, but that doesn't help.  Any suggestions?

    Tapping the words don't work in iOS 7. Just swipe up or down anywhere on the screen until the mode that you want to use appears in yellow type on the right side. Yellow type indicates the selected mode.
    Remember - swipe up or down to get to the mode that you want to use.

    I've tried the Extra - Options screen, I've tried the Help with Firefox screen , I can't seem to find a solution.

    Did you check for problems with the file prefs.js in the Firefox Profile Folder and rename or delete the file?
    Windows may be hiding the .js file extension, so check the Properties via the right-click context menu to be sure.

  • This is how you extract frames from video

    right then, in answer to many posts about how to get the individual frames from video, here is my solution. it seems to work with mpg files but it doesnt seem to work with any of the avi files i tried. not sure why it doesnt work with those. i have modified javas frame access.
    nothing is displayed except it prints which frame it is doing.
    if anyone wants to improve it, please do. i still dont understand fully how it works so i probably wont be able to answer many questions about it. anyway here it is:

    The quality of the produced video from this example is very poor.
    It comes to huuuuge surprise the following fact.
    If you comment the line where you set the PostAccessCodec, the chain of the codecs is:
    MPEG-1 decoder -> YUV2RGB -> Direct Draw Renderer. ( The one used from the system to decode and render)
    If you run the example purely as is above you get the following sequence(as long with the poor quality):
    MPEG-1 decoder -> YUV2RGB -> Windows GDI Renderer.
    So you say lets set another Renderer. So
    you add the following line videoTracker.setRenderer( new DDRenderer() )
    What comes to a surprise is the following chain of codecs:
    MPEG-1 decoder -> YUV2RGB -> Post Codec -> Java RGB Converter - > DDRenderer
    The quality now may be perfect but video runs to slow. The surprising thing here is that even though we have set the outputFormat of the PostAccessFrame codec to RGBFormat the system converts it again to RGB through codec Java RGB Format.
    After searching a lot and reaching the conclusion that the deference between the 2 RGB's is their sizes I sudently was brought in front of a method called grabFrame(). Bels started ringing inside my head. Starts were comming up. Looking at the definition of the class com.sun.media.renderer.video.DDRenderer I descovered that this damn class implements the FrameGrabbingControl Interface. What the f.....? The problem that consumed 4 days of my life and multiplied with 10 to give hours has finally come to an and.
    Summing up the solution for grabbing frames is this!!!!!
    DDRenderer renderer = new DDRenderer();
    videoTrack.setRenderer( renderer );
    and in your actionPerformed implementation
    FrameGrabbingControl fr = (FrameGrabbingControl)renderer.getControl( "javax.media.control.FrameGrabbingControl");
    Buffer frame = fr.grabFrame();
    The following stuff ...are stated in FrameAccess
    --Sniper

  • Is there a way to create a picture from video in iMovie 11

    Is there a way to create a jpg picture from video in imovie?
    I have noticed several work arounds which are not so easy. This was previously a feature that was very helpful to put in stills in the drop zones in idvd from your video project. Only makes sense. Why has it been removed?

  • Ipad background audio from video when multitasking

    Hello.
    This is a request if people can either feedback On their present experience or try this out themselves first and feedback.
    I have an ipad 1. When ever i try to get background audio to play from video when multitasking in another app, eg safari, from any video app including plex, airvideo, vlc,  and the original apple video app. All that occurs is that the icon changes to the ipod and a random song is played from my music library instead of the audio from the video i was watching. This does not matter if the video file is streamed or stored on the ipad itself.
    There is one slight and occasional proviso to this, as at times if the video file is tagged in itunes as 'music' rather than 'movie' or 'tv show' etc then it does on occasions work, and on occasions youtube videos will play in the background. But most of the time these aspects also dont function int he background with the ipod icon instantly replacing which ever video app icon i tried to use in the background.
    Now my sons iphone 4 manages to function correctly and always plays video in the background when multitasking.
    I have asked this question before on this forum, with no response, so booked a visit to my local genius bar. Where they checked my ipad and agreed it wasnt working as ios should, then interestingly they attempted to do the same on an ipad 2 and it failed to work in exactly the same way.  Their response was that this was obviously a fault of the ipad ios, possibly due to the ipad having a separate video app where as the iphone has video within its generic ipod app.
    I did the usual by informing apple via of this bug through the feedback system, and requested that the genius bar do the same. But having thought about this, and failed to see any other users on this forum who are also puzzled at this lack of what i think is an important function, i wonder if this means that i am the only one who likes to listen to video when im browsing, so dont need it, or wether everyone elses ipads function as ios should do, and for some reason both my ipad, and the ipad 2 tested in the shop are at fault.
    So can i request if others reading this can have a go to see if their ipad will play background audio from video when multitasking, or if the same problem occurs.
    Thanks very much this is really appreciated.

    Oops clicked the wrong button, I meant to click a 'helpful answer' as it  hard to have a correct answer to such a question.
    But thanks for the replies.
    It looks like this is a bug in ios solely for the ipad, as it does work fine on the iphone  although wonder which way the ipod touch will perform. interestingly it looks like i may also be in the minority of wishing to listen to video files as I browse:)
    Which probably means apple may never get around to sorting it, as no one else uses the function.
    Anyway thanks for the replies, if any one else wants to see the bug have a go and comment, i find it funny how I seem to be the only one to have found it to date.
    R:)
