DIRECTORY=TEST parfile=schema.par
We got a call from application team.Their expdp scirpt is not working last two days.They got below error.Before it worked fine.the dump file stored in their local server(Not DATABASE server).
ORA-39002: invalid operation
ORA-39070: Unable to open the log file.

Is it possilbe to store dumpfile in local server using EXPDP?
Then we tried in East connect method.But not working

is it possilbe to store dumpfile in local server using EXPDP?it is possible.i think your directory path is a network path pointed to client machine.

Yes I agree... you are most likely running into a Windows security issue. When an oracle instance is created on Windows the services are >setup to Log On as the SYSTEM account. For "Calls" coming from the database to be able to access access directories they must have >privileges granted to the SYSTEM account. Basicaly the account that the OracleService[Instance Namer] service is running under has to >have access to the UNC path. further..

  • Upgrade exp/expdp issue

    Hi,
    We are in the process of upgrading our 10.2.0.4 databases to 11.2.0.2. We are going from RAC to RAC. I have already upgraded many databases successfully with the exp/imp method. However I have run into a 10.2.0.4 database that is not relatively big that is so slow on the export method, that it is not feasible.
    So I am tring the expdp/impdp method, and the expdp was completed in 45 minutes (not bad). I have been running the impdp for 21 hours, and it is still not complete. It says it is still EXECUTING.
    Now I am thinking that I need to do something even more creative. I have a single node server, running 10.2.0.4 database on top of 10.2.0.4 ASM. I can move the database to this server, and try to install the 11.2.0.2 database software to see if I can upgrade in place, then migrate the database via RMAN. The question is, can an 11.2.0.2 database use or live on a 10.2.0.4 ASM?
    I am also open to any suggestions on any ideas about how to expedite the exp or impdp processes. This database is a copy of a Peoplesoft database that is used for staging changes with the Stat product. It has 52,063 tables, 201 tablespaces, 26,297 views and it only takes up 17GB of space according to Cloud Control. The expdp file is only 2.4 GB.
    Thank you for your time.
    Regards
    //Karl

    For a quick upgrade try using the transportable tablespace feature, MOS note pasted below should get you started in the right direction.
    Since you're on ASM there will be an RMAN `backup as copy` step somewhere in the process, but generally a transport will be much quicker than an exp or datapump process. For exp we would usually specify the indexes parameter to get separate DDLs to rebuild indexes at the target to get more work done in parallel, and there is probably a similar method with datapump. But the transport might do the trick much more easily.

  • EXPDP Issues With DATA_PUMP_DIR

    I am totally confused with this new expdp command
    I am trying to convert my export scripts to expdp
    Can someone tell me how to set the DATA_PUMP_DIR variable so that i can designate where i want my dumps to go to ? I do NOT want to use the oracle directories unless i have to. I would like to set the location before i do the dump and am not having any luck. Here is what i have tried in WINDOWS environment
    created E:\Oracle_Data_Pump_Files directory at OS level
    set DATA_PUMP_DIR=E:\Oracle_Data_Pump_Files
    E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN\expdp test/pass@orcl dumpfile=orcl.dmp logfile=orcl.dmp.log
    error:

    ORA-39087: directory name E:\Oracle_Data_Pump_Files is invalid
    Any assistance would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Jim

    I have never used DATA_PUMP_DIR as an environment variable, rather... i have done the following
    1. Ensure the directory is created in the database and mapped to a real directory path that the oracle server and runtime user (SYSTEM on Windows?) has access to.
    2. grant read, write on the directory object to the user running the expdp/impdp commands.
    3. in the actual expdp/impdp commands you have 2 options to reference the directory object
    a.) when specifying dumpfile parameter do.... dumpfile=<directory name>:<file name>
    or
    b.) use directory=<directory name> dumpfile=<file name>
    Hope that helps.

    Hi All,
    DB -- 11.1.0.6.0

    Today , I came across with one strange issue , where EXPDP tells us the scehma does not exist. we then tried to look into this this particular schema into the database and discovered it's does exist there. One wearied thing is that , all the tables inside this schema are of same size and have bit strange naming convention.I also discovered the same issue with one more database on the same host.

    This is not true, there is a set of schemas that Data Pump knows are really not user schemas and therefore are not exported. Most contain sys, but they don't have to.
    If you created a schema called sysxyz, it would be exported.

    Hi, i recently started learning photoshop scripts, i have a .bat file that needs to run at the end of java script, while looking for help online, the only hel was
    var bat = new File("path\fileName.bat");
    bat.execute();
    but nothing happens when i run this script, or even if i try to wtire into a .bat file, nothing happens, it looks like, the file operations are not working and i might be missing something. Can some one please help me solve this issue?

    Looks like your Oracle can't access the directory you are using. If you don't specify a directory data pump will use DATA_PUMP_DIR:

  • STOPPED JOBS with expdp and dbms_scheduler

    Hello.
    I am working with the 10g release 2 in a RAC enviroment, and i am trying to put an export job at the scheduler.
    To launch the export i have make a shell script, then first exec the export process and after launch a bzip2 command to compress the resultant dmp file.
    The problem is that the export process finish ok, but it don't compress the file, because the scheduler mark the job as STOPPED.
    The log say:
    REASON="Stop job with force called by user: 'SYS'"
    and the expdp S.O process that launch the extjobo stay runing for ever, like if it was waiting for the expdp to exit and it can`t so the script never arrive to the part that compress the file.
    I put the script that i make to export the schema:
    #!/bin/bash
    export ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/product/10.2.0/db
    export PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin
    export DIRBACK=/ORACLE/BACKUPS/BMR/Dumps
    export dia=`date +%d_%m_%Y_%H_%M_%S`
    export LOG=dump_backup_bmr_$dia.log
    cd $DIRBACK
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/expdp userid=oracle_backup/orabck@BMR dumpfile="BMR_BMR_$dia.dmp" schemas=BMR directory=Dumps logfile=$LOG
    cd $DIRBACK
    /usr/bin/bzip2 -f --best ./BMR_BMR_$dia.dmp
    cd $DIRBACK
    /bin/mail -s "DUMP BACKUP BMR DIARIO [$dia]" [email protected] < ./dump_backup_bmr_$dia.log
    I have put several cd $DIRBACK to see if it fail because the script don`t find the dmp file.
    Any idea why it STOP after finish the script ?
    PD: sorry for my poor english.
    Regards

    Hi,
    A stop is only done in two cases - if the user calls dbms_scheduler.stop_job or if the database is shutdown while a job is running. Make sure the database is not being shutdown while the job is running or inside of the job.
    If expdp is still running then this suggests that it is hanging. One possibility for that is that expdp is generating a lot of standard error messages and hanging the job (this is a known issue in 10gR2). You can try redirecting standard output and error to files to see if this helps.
    e.g.
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/expdp > /tmp/output 2> /tmp/errors
    Hope this helps,
    Ravi.

  • Expdp error anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

    I'm trying to get an export of a database that has encrypted columns. Exp really isn't a good option I'd have to unencrypt the columns first everytime.
    First I create the directory D:\DPDUMP and give Everyone SERVICE and SYSTEM full rights to the directory. Oracle runs as the Local System account.
    Created new user myuser that has the role DBA with EXP_FULL_DATABASE etc.
    Made directory object.
    CREATE DIRECTORY dpump_dir_01 AS 'D:\DPDUMP';
    grant read, write on directory dpump_dir_01 to myuser;
    Run expdp as myuser with following PARFILE entries just testing on the tables that are giving me problems.
    DIRECTORY=dpump_dir_01
    LOGFILE=Encryptest.log
    DUMPFILE=Encryptest.dmp
    FULL=N
    encryption_password=********
    TABLES=MYBANK.CARDAGREEMENT
    CONTENT=ALL
    get errors
    ORA-39006: internal error
    ORA-39213: Metadata processing is not available
    I've added USERID="/ as sysdba" to the PARFILE.
    I've tried it to the default DATA_PUMP_DIR after giving read write to that with the same error. expdp TABLES=MYBANK.CARDAGREEMENT.
    No matter what I do I get this error. So far what I've seen is a Directory permissions issue normally causes it and granting access fixes it but I'm having no luck at all.

    Here the error definition message, have you try the recommanded action ?
    ORA-39213: Metadata processing is not available
    Cause: The Data Pump could not use the Metadata API. Typically, this is caused by the XSL stylesheets not being set up properly.
    Action: Connect AS SYSDBA and execute dbms_metadata_util.load_stylesheets to reload the stylesheets.
    Nicolas.

    Hi Shan,
    I am getting very similar to yours
    "ORA-37111: Unable to load the OLAP API sharable library: (The specified module could not be found."
    error message while creating OLAP Analytic Workspace with AWM.
    I am creating workspace for the first time, actually following some tutorial to get some knowledge about OLAP)
    I see you managed to solve you problem.
    I wonder how I can get this MOS DOC 852794.1 - is it possible to get it without going to Metalink?
    Thanks in advance for any help.
    Regards,
    SC

  • Getting - ORA-01403: no data found - When I Run expdp

    Oracle database version 11.1.0.7.0 on Windows 32-bit.
    When I run:

    I turned on tracing like this:
    1.) Set the Error Stack 1403 to know exactly which SQL is failing:-
    SQL> alter system set events '1403 trace name errorstack level 3';
    Re-ran the datapump export to reproduce the error then disable the events.
    SQL> alter system set events '1403 trace name errorstack off';
    The trace file, oddly enough, shows that this is the failing SQL:
    Error Stack Dump

    Current SQL Statement for this session (sql_id=3n58uzvnuw2hj) -----
    SELECT VALUE FROM V$NLS_PARAMETERS WHERE PARAMETER = 'NLS_CHARACTERSET'
    Under that, I get the call stack.
    I ran this SQL manually and I get:
    SQL> SELECT VALUE FROM V$NLS_PARAMETERS WHERE PARAMETER = 'NLS_CHARACTERSET';
    VALUE

    Any ideas as to why I'm getting the ORA-01403 when I run expdp?
    Thank you

    Hello,
    Your error looks like what is descibed into the Metalink Note 345198.1.
    But this note apply to 10.1.0.4 not to 11.1.0.7.
    So, you should open an issue to My Oracle Support.
    Best regards,
    Jean-Valentin

    HAVE TRIED ALL THE FOLLOWING AND LATER GOT STUCK IN MY LIL EFFORT TO DOCUMENT AS I GO ALONG:
    USING DATA PUMP TO EXPORT DATA
    First:
    Create a directory object or use one that already exists.
    I created a directory object: grant
    CREATE DIRECTORY "DATA_PUMP_DIR" AS '/home/oracle/my_dump_dir'
    Grant read, write on directory DATA_PUMP_DIR to user;
    Where user will be the user such as sys, public, oracle etc.
    For example to create a directory object named expdp_dir located at /u01/backup/exports enter the following sql statement:
    SQL> create directory expdp_dir as '/u01/backup/exports'
    then grant read and write permissions to the users who will be performing the data pump export and import.
    SQL> grant read,write on directory dpexp_dir to system, user1, user2, user3;
    http://wiki.oracle.com/page/Data+Pump+Export+(expdp)+and+Data+Pump+Import(impdp)?t=anon
    To view directory objects that already exist
    -     use EM: under Administration tab to schema section and select Directory Objects
    -     DESC the views: ALL_DIRECTORIES, DBA_DIRECTORIES
    select * from all_directories;
    select * from dba_directories;
    export schema using expdb
    expdp system/SCHMOE DUMPFILE=patsy_schema.dmp
    DIRECTORY=DATA_PUMP_DIR SCHEMAS = PATSY
    expdp system/PASS DUMPFILE=METADATA_ONLY_schema.dmp DIRECTORY=DATA_PUMP_DIR TABLESPACES = USER_SEG CONTENT=METADATA_ONLY
    expdp system/PASS DUMPFILE=data_only_schema.dmp DIRECTORY=DATA_PUMP_DIR TABLES=PATSY.TRVERIFY,PATSY.TRAPPO_RESET,PATSY.TRAPP_RESET,PATSY.TRCOURSEO_RESET, PATSY.TRCOURSE_RESET,PATSY.TRPARTO_RESET,PATSY.TRPART_RESET,PATSY.TRTRANS_RESET,PATSY.TRVERIFY_RESET CONTENT=DATA_ONLY

    you are correct all the patsy tables reside in the tablespace USER_SEG that are in a diffrent database and i want to move them to a new database-same version 10g. i have created a user named patsy there also. the tablespace does not exist in the target i want to move it to-same thing with the objects and indexes-they don't exists in the target.
    so how can i move the schema and tablespace with all the tables and keeping the tablespace name and same username patsy that i created to import into.
    tried again and get some errrors: this is beter than last time and that because i remap_tablespace:USER_SEG:USERS
    BUT I WANT TO HAVE THE TABLESPACE IN TARGET CALLED USER_SEG TOO. DO I HAVE TO CREATE IT OR ?
    [oracle@server1 ~]$ impdp system/blue99 remap_schema=patsy:test REMAP_TABLESPACE=USER_SEG:USERS directory=DATA_PUMP_DIR dumpfile=patsy.dmp logfile=patsy.log

    I tried running expdp multiple times every time I will get out of memeory error along with different oracle errors, but the common error is out of memory ora -04030.
    In above case I got this error along with ORA-39125 and sometimes I will get with

  • Interesting issue with Logical Standby and database triggers

    We have a Logical Standby that each month we export (expdp) a schema (CSPAN) that is being maintained by SQL Apply and import (impdp)it to a 'frozen copy' (eg CSPAN201104) using REMAP_SCHEMA.
    This works fine although we've noticed that because triggers on the original schema being exported have the original schema (CSPAN) hard-referenced in the definition are imported into and owned by the new 'frozen' schema but are still 'attached' to the original schema's tables.
    This is currently causing the issue where the frozen schema trigger is INVALID and causing the SQL Apply to fail. This is the error:
    'CSPAN201104.AUD_R_TRG_PEOPLE' is
    invalid and failed re-validation
    Failed SQL update "CSPAN"."PEOPLE" set "ORG_ID" = 2, "ACTIVE_IND" = 'Y', "CREATE_DT" = TO_DATE('22-JUL-08','DD-MON-RR'),"CREATOR_NM" = 'LC', "FIRST_NM" = 'Test', "LAST_PERSON" ='log'...
    Note: this trigger references the CSPAN schema (...AFTER INSERT ON CSPAN.PEOPLE...)
    I suspect that triggers on a SQL Apply Maintained schema in a Logical Standby do not need to be valid (since they do not fire) but what if they reference a SQL Apply schema but are 'owned' by a non-SQL Apply schema? This trigger references a SQL Apply table so it should not fire
    This is 10gR2 (10.2.0.4) on 64 bit Windows.
    Regards
    Graeme King

    OK, I've finally got around to actually test this and it looks like you are not quite correct Larry in this statement...
    'Since this trigger belongs to a new schema that is not controlled by SQL Apply (CSPAN201105) it will fire. But the trigger references a schema that is controlled by SQL Apply (CSPAN) so it will fail because it has to be validated.'
    My testing concludes that even though the trigger belongs to a schema CSPAN201105 (not controlled by SQL Apply) and references a schema controlled by SQL Apply - it does not fire. However it DOES need to be valid or it breaks SQL Apply.
    My testing was as follows:
    Primary DB
    Create new EMP table in CSPAN schema on Primary
    Create new table TRIGGER_LOG in CSPAN schema on Primary
    Create AFTER INSERT/UPDATE trigger on CSPAN.EMP table (that inserts into TRIGGER_LOG table)
    **All of the above replicates to Standby**
    Standby DB
    Create new table TRIGGER_LOG_STNDBY in CSPAN201105 schema on Primary
    Create new trigger in CSPAN201105 schema that fires on INSERT/UPDATE on CSPAN.EMP but that inserts into CSPAN201105.TRIGGER_LOG_STNDBY table)
    Primary DB
    Insert 4 rows into CSPAN.EMP
    Update 2 rows in CSPAN.EMP
    TRIGGER_LOG table has 6 rows as expected
    Standby DB
    TRIGGER_LOG table has 6 rows as expected
    TRIGGER_LOG_STNDBY table has **0 rows**
    Re-create trigger in CSPAN201105 schema that fires on INSERT/UPDATE on CSPAN.EMP but that inserts into CSPAN201105.TRIGGER_LOG_STNDBY table) **but with syntax error**
    Primary DB
    Update 1 row in CSPAN.EMP
    TRIGGER_LOG table has 7 rows as expected
    Standby DB
    SQL Apply is broken - ORA-04098: trigger 'CSPAN201105.TEST_TRIGGER_TRG' is invalid and failed re-validation
