? Export and burn project in .avi format

How do you export a FCP project to disc so that it is just an .avi file. My video clip needs to be uploaded to a website and the site requires an .avi file. I tried emporting it as an .avi file from FCP but after I burned it in DVDSP it comes up as audio TS and video TS. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Glenn

There may be other ways but I export things as Animation or Intermediate and then just throw them into VisualHub for web conversions like that. It may be good enough for you, I'm not sure.
If I'm understanding you correctly you need to dump it onto a Data DVD for delivery? Toast will do that or burning a disc from the Finder.

  • I have finally figured out how to export an iphoto album so that I can maintain the proper order of the photos after burning the file. How do I keep each individual photo title and description after exporting and burning?

I have finally figured out how to export an iphoto album so that I can maintain the proper order of the photos after burning the file. How do I keep each individual photo title and description after exporting and burning?  Presently after exporting and burning each photo is identified by the file name rather than each individual title description.

File name and Title are not the same thing.
Filename is attached to the Jpeg file in the Finder.
Title is attached to the photo within the Jpeg file - as is the description. These are written to the Exif and IPTC metadata on export.
So: File -> Export. Kind: Jpeg or Tiff and Check the box at 'Title and Keywords'. This will write the Title, keywords and descriptions (though not explicitly stated) to the metadata. This can then be viewed in any app that understand this material.
You can choose, if you wish, to also use the Title as a Filename - that's an option at File Name

  • Audio gets out of sync after export and burn to iDVD - works in iMovie

I've burned my DVD show twice on iMovie and iDVD and the audio music tracks slowly get displaced over the course of the show (15 min) after exporting and burning to iDVD. It gets pushed back so that it starts later each new track...I've locked the audio to the playhead for each new audio track - however, there are some empty gaps between the tracks, does this have anything to do with the displacement? Or should it not matter since the tracks are locked?
I had it all synced up in the playback on iMovie and had it aligned with visuals, however, after burning, it gets displaced and everything gets off...
Any help would be appreciated, thank you

  • Continuos acquisition video and record video in AVI format

    Hello,
I want to make a continuos acquisition of video with a webcam and record video in AVI format with a number of frames per second equal to 60, and with a possibility to choose the period of acquisition in the window '' front panal '' but the problem is that when I selected an acquisition time of 1 minute supervision
video takes a time of 1 minute but I get an AVI video recorded with a duration of 15 seconds !!

I'm sorry, you didn't understand what I wanted you to do.  You might have "done the right thing", but I can't be sure.  Your original program (as I understood it) recorded images from the camera for a fixed period of time that you set (so you knew the recording time) -- what I wanted to know for the original camera was (a) what was the recording time and (b) how many frames were taken.
The second program that you just attached does the opposite -- it records a fixed number of frames (a better way to do this is to use a FOR loop and just wire 900 to N in the upper left hand corner).  If you are going to record a fixed number of frames, then I want to know how much time it takes to record.  You can do this by doing something like what is shown below (with the FOR loop example).
I realize that this is in the "wrong" version of LabVIEW, but it just involves adding two Tick Count functions to your Camera loop.  If it does say that Delta-t = 15000 (15 seconds), then the main question, "Is the camera recording at 60 FPS", is answered as "Yes".  In any case, we should have enough data to make your code work as you want it to.

  • Project screen when exported and burned becomes tiny

    Hello,
I am working on a project in Adobe Encore CS4. The project appears to be fine when we preview in the program, though there is a thin black border around it. When we export it and burn it to a dvd something changes. We play it on regular dvd player and tv and the picture becomes tiny and there is a huge black border around it. My boss and I cannot for the life of us figure out what setting is causing this. My boss has done projects before and not had this problem. We have compared previous projects to this one and can't find any settings that are different. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

This is aimed at Premiere Pro, but may help
Work through all of the steps (ideas) listed at http://ppro.wikia.com/wiki/Troubleshooting

  • How to Mix Export and Burn  5.1 Surround in Premiere CS4

Ok I'm attempting my first 5.1 mix in Premiere CS4.  I have a couple of basic questions about mixing and exporting in 5.1.
I have created my 5.1 master sequence in premiere and have broken out my 5.1 track to 6 mono audio files.  Right now they are all .wma with a very high bitrate because that's the only format I was able to rip off the Blu-ray disc I'm experimenting with.  I have also learned to change my audio hardware to run off of my Matrox Driver to utilize my hardware for my matrox axio LE.  The end result I'm trying to produce is a 720p 23.967fps H.264 Blu-ray disc with 5.1 sound.
    Questions:
Should I use wma files for audio or something else?  At first I noticed a little bit of a lag in performace before switching my audio hardware to the Matrox Driver.
Do I have to use Dolby Surcode upon export to burn in Encore?  When I first upgraded to premiere CS4 I  used my 3 free encodes while testing our the program, is there any way to get them back?
When importing the Audio into Encore is there anything special I need to do or can I just drop the Dolby 5.1 track onto the timeline as I would normally with at stereo track?

Should I use wma files for audio or something else?
PCM WAV 16 bit stereo @ 48 KHz.

  • Export and burn - Final Cut Studio to DVD Studio Pro

I think I am doing all the right settings when I try and convert material that was filmed with an HDV camera into a suitable format for burning and playing on a traditional SD DVD recorder. But even with encodings of 720 x 576i PAL, the disc once burned is rejected by my DVD player, although it plays fine on the Macbook Pro I amusing for editing and burning. Am I missing something obvious? I looked for a standard MPEG -2 setting in the Quicktime Conversion window, but couldn't find one. I have the first version of Final Cut studio, which I think is really FCP v.5.1.
    Thanks
    Nick

It sounds as if you are choosing the HD DVD checkbox in DVD SP.
    You shouldn't.

  • Exporting and importing projects and DCs

We are not blessed with the JDI, and I am in a situation whereby I would like to take a project from one machine and import it into another.
I tried this by exporting to a ZIP file, but when I try to import it, I have to create a new project in the target system, then import the ZIP file into that. When I do that it does not seem to preserve the original structure of the project.
I noticed that there are many different formats in which the projects can be exported. Do any of these allow me to export the project and import it, preserving the internal structure of the project, ideally without creating a project in the target system first?
    Kind Regards,
    Tony.

If you are working with the same version of Developer Studio on both PCs you can just copy the whole file structure of the project from your workspace to the workspace of the other PC.
Then, in developer studio of the second PC, choose "import existing project", and browse to the root folder of the project.
This should work, but keep in mind that eventually you will face versioning problems as you will make changes on both PCs...

  • Problem when exporting and importing project from odi 10g to odi 11g

    Hi,
I want to migrate my project from odi 10g to odi 11g.
But when i am importing the interface then it is giving the error of mising references .
I have exported the project(without its child component),models
(including my datastore),KM's,folder (without its child component),packages(with child components),interaces(with child components),procedures(with child components),variables from odi 10g.
After exporting all these objects i imported all the objects with import type set as "Synonym mode insert" into odi 11g but when i imported the interface it is giving the error of missing references.
Source technolgy is Oracle and target technolgy is Postgres.
Topologies have been made in the ODI 11g same as in ODI 10g.
    Please help.

You dont need to migrate the complete repository. You can migrate a project at a time into ODI 11.1.1.5.x
You have to be careful while importing. You have to follow a sequence when importing.
Empty Project -> KMs -> Models (with DB Stores) -> Variable -> Empty Folders -> Interfaces -> Procedures -> Packages ---- All in SYNONYM mode insert (no exceptions)
And your repository id in 11g MUST be different from the one in 10g.

  • Export and Burn On A PC

Adobe seems to be toying with me. In LR2 on an XP 64bit machine. I now have the export option of "burn full size JPG's". However this feature seems to be disabled: "Disk burning is not supported by Lightroom on this computer. It has been disabled." Strangely, I can tell LR to create a folder on a CD and export to that folder. LR says it won't do it - but if you ignore the warning it works. So if I can get LR to do do it, why won't LR do it on its own? Any Ideas?

    Wolf
Here's the work around. Don't tell LR you want to Burn to a CD. Insert a disk. Tell LR you want to export to a specific location. Select your CD drive as that location. You will need to tell it to create a new folder (don't forget to rename) or it will absolutely refuse to let you do this. As it is, it will pop up a warning telling you you can't do this. Ignore the warning and go back and tell LR to export to the folder you just told it to make. Part way through the export, the "you've got files waiting ......" bubble should pop up. When the export is complete, either click on the bubble, or open the cd drive, and tell XP to write the files to the CD. An odd work around, but it seems to work for me.

  • Edit export and burn problems

    I have a macbook pro 2.3 ghz, corei7, 8gb,1600mhz ddr3.
I have a 1hr 13 min hd movie on imovie and I want to burn it to disc but it is to large, how can I make it smaller and still keep the quality.
This computor did not come with idvd and thw mov file is difficult to us on other burn programs.

I'll see if I can work that out. The complication being that I'm at a school. I don't have access to a physical copy of the software, so I'll have to see if someone is still letting people download 1.2.
My home system, which is Vista 64bit, handles things flawlessly the normal way. My class of computers here are XP 64bit,a and none of them "took".
    Thanks for the advice,

  • Exporting in the best AVI format possible. help

So I need to export my project in AVI format. Ive already done it once and it looks really bad, quality seems to be low even if I put it on best. Everything was turned up. Dont really know what im doing wrong. The footage was shot in HD 10-bit NTSC 720x486 4:3
Can anyone walk me threw what they do when they want to export at the best AVI quality??

The client wants AVI format. I told them QT is better and more used. They also want a mpeg format.

You can ask what clients want and you can explain why you can't do it for them but it's impolitic to tell them they don't know what they want. There is nothing better about QT nor is it used more. AVI persists in spite of the fact it has been dead for more than 15 years.
MPEG? 1, 2, 3, or 4? You must find out.
Your video dimensions indicate standard definition DV. The AVI export out of FCP or Compressor is lovely on my systems which suggests you may be viewing it improperly.
