Export as a gif

I created a short text highlight in motion and would love to add it to my website.
Is there a way to export the project as a gif or similar? I want to be able to use it as a simple button on a site, the same as a normal jpeg for example.
Regards

Be aware that GIFs are limited to 256 colors and transparency is poor - a pixel is either transparent or opaque, with nothing in between. This can leave very rough edges.
I think a GIF is the easiest approach here but it will probably not look good at all. Perhaps a better (but more complex) method would be to create before and after images and then use CSS and Javascript to fade between them. Something like this:

I suppose it all depends on how ambitious you want to be here.

  • Exporting an animated GIF

Does anyone know whether it's possible to export an animated GIF from FCP? The only methods I've seen described involve using three programs I don't have - AE, Graphics Converter or ImageReady.

I don't know if there is a way to do it with just FCP.
Have you tried GIFBuilder? I heard it works very well.

  • How to export best quality gif animations in flash

how to export best quality gif animations in flash

GIF is a color restricted format with on/off support for transparency. There's really no settings you can tweak to output a better GIF. You have a drop-down during GIF sequence export to allow transparency, select the amount of colors (up to 256) and you can choose dither to save a little filespace. The only 2 things in there that really matter are dither and amount of colors used to export.
If your content is very similar (e.g. not a lot of complex gradients/shadows/etc) and is limited in color use turning down the amount of colors used and dithering is your only option.
Make sure you're exporting the GIF via "Publish Settings" so you get a single animated GIF and not file->export->movie because this creates a separate sequence of GIF images for each frame.

Ah. Passons la qualité de 100 à 25 -> poids 6,96Mo. Pfffff...
    [Edit 23h :] Back to CS6 et à l'ancienne méthode... Tant pis.

Je vais défaillir. J'en ai tellement besoin de cette option...
    S'il vous plait : I NEED HELP!

How do I export an animated GIF from Premiere CC?
I dont see an Animated codec option

    Hi Nick
    Believe me I STARTED there.
I wouldnt post this message if I didnt try there first.
I do not see Animated GIF as a codec option.
Please walk me through the step by step process of how you got this.
Because it is not as obvious as you're making it out to be.
Further more perhaps a certain format has to be selected for Animated GIF options to appear?
YES I AM ON CC version too. thanks!

  • Edge Animate export to animated .gif?

Hi everyone, I just started using Edge Animate and have completed my project. My final deliverable I am looking for is an animated gif with everything contained in it.  Can Edge do this? I think I will blow the mind of my vendor if I try to send them an HTML file, Javascript and the images all separately.  Is there a way to export just one file?  If not, can I import my Edge Animate file into another Adobe application where I could do so?  Thank you.

There really is no "single file" solution with HTML, none that would be easy anyways. The HTML page is an aggregate of images, libraries, fonts, etc and due to the nature of the format I don't think you'll find the one-off package you're looking for. Even if you were to embed in say Dreamweaver or Muse the output would still be multiple files.
IMO I think your best solution would be to upload somewhere and share a link
    Cheers,
    Sarah

  • Export project as gif...

Is there a way to export slides as animated gifs?

Why not create a cpvc file and that publishes to MP4. GIF, as you may perhaps know has its limitations: only 256colors.
Camtasia is pure video, doesn a very nice job at that, but Captivate has more than pure video.

  • Exporting two many .gifs

I've been using Fireworks for a few weeks, and have not been able to relieve the following issue :
I've created a somewhat complex image in Fireworks and need to cut down on the number of .gifs that are exported. Other than simplifying the image (i.e. removing objects, aligning more objects, deleting some of the content, etc..) is there a way I can cut down on the number of image files that are exported?
I'm currently at 106 files (1 .htm & 105 .gifs), and as a result I'm experiencing slow load time on the SharePoint site that I've inserted the .htm file in as a Web Part. The number or .gifs are a result of the Web Slices which are storing a simple rollover behavior and an link.  What solutions are out there for someone in my posistion to keep the design mostly unchanged, but increase my images load time?
Any help or direction would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks!
    - Jeff

Oooohhhh.... Okay. I don't see any way you can do this without a table. However, your table could be more efficient. (Actually, someone who's really good with CSS could probably do it, but...that isn't me! ) Or...just make one image and use an image map? That's what those are for.
However...let's see if this helps you at all...
The first thing to do is print this out (without the Web slices) Use a ruler and pencil and draw the minimal number of vertical and horizontal lines you need to create images. (New guidelines for a re-slicing of this diagram.) Consolidate where possible, even if that means adding white pixels to some images. It might be easiest to mark off where you have horizontal areas that are (mostly) all white.
For instance. Rather than having one line right below your Assessment and Execution shapes and another just above Strategy, Prioritization, etc, place one line. Maybe split the difference, maybe place it at the top of the second row of shapes, doesn't matter. Just have one.
Make the lower guideline for Strategy, Prioritization, etc match the lower guideline for the Toll Gates.
Next, you have a row of all white, except for the dotted vertical lines. You'll only need one slice on one of the vertical lines.
Make a consistent-height row that includes the Project Charters and Manage Changes shapes. All the way across. These odd-height shapes are making your table more complex. (Plus, if you have a regular table where some cells are filled with white images, you can usually remove those contents if the width and height are fixed by images in other cells. It simplifies. If nothing else, you can use a single 1x1-pixel white image and set the width and height to what you need.)
    Keep going down the image.
    Next, vertical lines...
You have teeny little spaces on either side of your Toll Gate shapes. Don't. Hmm. You'll have to split The Toll Gate regions in two, but have the actual slices for the diamond shapes span two vertical guidelines. If you can put the guidelines on the same side of the dotted line for each Toll Gate, then you will be able to use the same image for the dotted lines in rows that are otherwise white.
Are you doing rollovers? If so, then because of the tightness of the table, I would recommend that you limit your rollover effects to the text only. That way, you can have cells with images that might be the ends of two different colored shapes and you don't have to worry about changing colors.

  • Flash CS4 crashes when exporting to animated .GIF!!!!

I am running Snow Leopard and Flash CS4 10.0.2.  Everytime I try to export to an animated GIF flash will crash.  I can export to .swf, html, and a static .gif just fine.  As soon as I check that animated box and hit publish, it crashes.  This is annoying and ridiculous.  Is this an issue with Flash?
At first I thought it was due to the fact that I was using actionscript for my animation.  I figured the .gif didn't support that so I got rid of it, still crashed.  Even just made a very simple text animation and it still would crash.  This is unacceptable.
Anyone know a good SWF - animated GIF converter in the meantime?

Honestly, I am really astonished that CS4 runs under Windows 8 at all. You should get your hands on a trial version of flash cc and test if you are encountering the same problems:
if yes: then it must be related to your soundsystem (audio drivers/soundcard) or the files you try to import are non-standard/demolished
if no (flas cc imports your files but not CS4) then I would advise moving on to a specialized Windows 8.1 forum

  • How do I hide the mask layer when exporting as animated GIF ?

    Hi,
I have designed the following logo for my football team's website.
It plays fine as a flash file but when I export it as an animated GIF file, it shows the bright pink mask layer. Obviously I don't want it to. Has anybody an idea of how to rectify this problem ?
    Thanks,
    Phil

    Peter,
Success! I finally got my head round it Indeed, I can see now your point about the export method being preferable, it's also much quicker than my old "print PDF" method! Like I say, publishing isn't my area of expertise and I get comfortable and set in my ways with certain ways of doing things, especially with computers!
    Bob,
Like I was saying to Peter, that makes sense now. I guess my not appreciating the process of PDF creation and thus my incorrect use of the terminology may have confused the issue. With regards the link you sent me, wow it certainly seems I'm not the only one who gets confused! Fortunately it seems my problem is now solved and I have learned to produce a better product!
    Thanks again guys!
....now I wonder how I can make my dissertation interactive....

  • CS4 Export Movie animated gifs

I tried using this feature in CS3 and no matter what setting I tried the animation looked horrible. I have been using CS4 so I can get used to it and I have to say that the new animation techniques really make a big difference. One of the features I thought I would try is the export movie to an animated gif. Without even looking at the settings I did the export and opened the .gif in Firefox and I as amazed to see that it looks so much better in CS4 than CS3 ever did. I guess this must have been a big complaint cause as a designer who does alot of banners I need to do back up animated.gifs in some instances and if you know Macs there is no app to do this so when I needed to I would copy the swfs to a thumb drive and do the conversion from swf to animated gif on my pc.

I searched the CS5 user guide PDF, and find that animated gif is a support INPUT format, but find NO mention of that being an export format
The tutorial list in message #3 http://forums.adobe.com/message/2276578 has a link to download the current PDF for easy searching, since I don't know if CC adds that for export

  • How to increase the quality when exporting an animated gif

I'm using a very simple animation, with just 2 sentences been animated, the rest are static images. This is 250 x 250 banner and my requirements are, 50kb max, 30 seconds or shorter and 5fps, when saving as a gif, the quality I'm getting is really poor, is there a way to increase the quality and keeping the same requirements at the same time?
    Thanks,
    Trish

No, not the way you have animated it. You are working against the limitations of the format and doing everything "wrong" one possibly could.
    a) You are using a photo to begin with
    b) You animate opacities
    c) You move stuff
All of this will quickly exhaust the max. 256 global colors and change the dithering patterns with every frame. Unless you can come up with a more suitable design, you will have to live with the quality as it is. It's inherent in the format's limitations.

  • Plotting a graph and then exporting as a gif or jpeg  ??

I need to retrieve certain data from a database table and then plot a graph. Which needs to show up in a jsp.
can anyone possibly think of any ay I could do this ?
    thanx !

Sure. Download an open source chart library.
The one I'm working on is JFreeChart (http://www.jrefinery.com/jfreechart) but on my website there are some links to others also.
