  • Exporting from Viewer to Excel not bring across multi Page Items

    Quick Question (Hopefully…)
Can a Tabular Worksheet that has page item called Periods (consisting of JUN-06, JUL-06 & AUG-06) be exported to Excel with all the Page items? I've tried using the Microsoft Excel Workbook with PivotTable (*.xls) format, however only the current page item is exported.
We are on Microsoft Excel 2000 SR-1 and Macro’s have been enabled. Disco is also working at 4.1.48.08.
    Cheers,
    Lance

yippee ... or not. I've finally had a reply from Oracle .... This is their reply:
'xxxxx is not available today, therefore I respond to you instead.
I believe what you request has never been possible in Viewer.
There is an open Enhancement Request for this functionality to be included:
Bug.2206949 (21) ENH ABILITY TO EXPORT PAGE-DETAIL WORKSHEET TO EXCEL WITH ALL PAGE
    ITEMS
I have added you to the list of customers requesting this enhancement.'
Now, why couldn't they have just said that before .
MF, i thought this problem only occurred in version 4. I remember reading somewhere that versions above 4 can export to excel on all Page items.. Can't remember for the life of me where i saw or read that.

    Hello,
I wondering if windows 8 + IE10 is a supported client configuration for PWA (Project Server 2010). I am unable to export PWA views to Excel 2010. No problems with Windows 7 + IE8/9
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
We followed the below steps in the local machine and check the behavior.
    a. Open the Windows registry editor (regedit.exe)
    b. Go the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\excel.exe
    c. Here, you’ll see a string value named “useURL”
    d. Rename this value to something else.  For example “useURLx”
Note: You might have to restart the machine to apply the registry change to take effect.

  • How to export SharePoint 2013 Calendar View to PPT or as an image?

    Greetings!
I am working on a SharePoint 2013 event calendar and should be able to provide a capability to export my calendar view (day/week/month) as a PPT slide or as an image. I understand that OOB we can export the calendar list to Excel or open using MS Access.
I had been exploring the option of using the Chart View Web Part which can be saved as an image (jpeg/bmp/png). Here are the pitfalls - Chart View WP does not support calendar view. At best, I am able to use the Gantt Chart Types, but having difficulty using
Calendar list "Start Time" column for one of the axes. There is End Time and Duration columns available for selection, but not start time. Also, I am unable to define date range for my date in the x-axis. Right now I have an x-axis
that spans over 40 years. Is there any way to confine the chart for a particular quarter or year.
At this time, I am inclined to look at custom development approaches. Any suggestions regarding an approach will be really helpful.
    Thanks!

Well, even if you want to go through "Export", it will be more manual work than taking a screenie. Unless of course you want to achieve it programmatically (am not sure what to do there).
Another option could be to subscribe to the SharePoint Calendar from Outlook. That way you can eliminate the need for the PPT (?) and also enable your users/clients/management to have more clarity on how the dates stand vis-a-vis other stuff they have listed
    on their calendars.

  • Export entire Dashboard in excel is giving error generating document when table view have subtotals

    Hi all,
We have dashboard with multiple tabs and are trying to Export entire Dashboard into excel.
Excel file is generated with all dashboard tabs as sheets but few of those sheets are empty with Error generating document message in first cell.
After further analysis we concluded that cause is table view with subtotals enabled. Pivot tables with subtotals are generated properly.
Obvious workaround solution to recreate table views into pivots is not possible due high number of reports.
We are running Oracle Business Intelligence Product Version 11.1.1.7.150120 (Build 150113.1200 64-bit)
Any ideas or solutions about this problem would be much appreciated.
    Thank you;

    We just found culprit
Rows per page of table view must be max 999999999 which is more than enough for our needs.

  • Exporting data view Report in reporting services to excel using an image click

We have a report created in reporting services and on the initial page we have a clickable image that opens excel and exports the date to our spreadsheet. This doesn't work when trying it from outside the network. I there a way to get this to work externally.
    Thanks

    Hi Dan,
If I understand correctly, you want to export to excel when you click an image in Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) or Report Builder. As far as I know, it is not support in SSRS.
In SSRS, we can add go to URL action to add parameter in the URL to work around the issue. As you’re mentioned above, we need deploy the report to report server to achieve the effect.

Since the issue is by default, I recommend you that submit this suggestion at

  • During export from Discover to Excel, Time Format changes to Number Format

    Hi
I have a seconds column which is of number datatype. But in my report, I am converting the number in *0HH:MI:SS* format. For example, I have *4952534 seconds*. So my report is showing *1375:42:14* which is a Time Format. It looks good when I view the data in Discoverer Viewer or Plus. But when I try to export the data to Excel, the time format gets converted to *4952534 seconds*, which is creating problems. So can you suggest on how can I preserve the formatting during export to excel from discoverer.
    Thanks
    Sachin

    Hi,
Excel will not implement the 0HH:MI:SS data format, it just gets the field as a number. You will have to format the field into text using the calculation from my previous post.

  • Repersentation of #error in HFR while exporting the report in Excel

    Hi All,
We are working on Hyperion Financial Report 9.3.1 with Essbase as a data source.
We are replacing the #error with 'NA', which is working fine when we are viewing the FR reports in workspace.
But when we export this report in Excel, word "NA" is changed by 0 (zero), which is misleading the user.
How can we stop this conversion (NA to 0)?
Any suggestion and help will be appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mohit Jain

    Hi All,
Thanks for your answers and support.
I raised this issue to Oracle support also, I got the following response-
    Hi Mohit,
I tested the case with the way you offered me. I can reproduce the problem. I think it should be a bug of the product.
I searched that on ML3. I found a bug which said that. This bug has been fixed in EPM 11.1.1.0.00. I tested that on my EPM 11.1.1.0.00 system. It works fine. The NA value can be exported in excel.
So would you like to upgrade to EPM 11.1.1.0.00 to fix the issue?
Hope this information will help others in future.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Problem export pdf table to excel spreadsheed

    Hi, my name is Marco.
Last month a customer has bought a copy of Adobe Acrobat Professional 9 in my computer shop for edit some pdfs files.
After some days he told me that he need to export a table to excel's spreadsheet but the function "open table in excel spreadsheet" work ONLY for the page where i right-click. How can i copy all the document in excel (without lose the format)?
Sorry for the bad english, if you don't understand i try to rewrite it better or in Italian!
    Thank you!

A lot depends on the structure of the PDF. I it has tags included that provide the format information, then the conversion may be easy. If the tags are not included, then retaining the format is almost impossible. This may even be a problem with recognizing columns. In that case, selecting columns with the ctrl key held during the selection. More information is available under "Copying Text" in the help menu (complete help). The help also talks about the ability to retain format as I have suggested.
To select items on multiple pages, you have to use continuous view.
It might be easier to the Save As to DOC and go from there. The backward conversion is not the forte or intent of Acrobat. In reality, one should never delete the original XLS (or other) file with the intent of going back in the future. Sounds like it is too late for your customer.

  • CRM 2011 - Exporting a view in 2011 Outlook Client

Using CRM 2011 on - premise with 2011 outlook client RU17
For a few custom entities exporting the default view to excel within Outlook Client results in a generic error pop up.
With tracing on I see the following error:
System.Web.HttpUnhandledException: Microsoft Dynamics CRM has experienced an error. Reference number for administrators or support: #0086DABC: System.Web.HttpUnhandledException (0x80004005): Exception of type 'System.Web.HttpUnhandledException' was thrown.
---> Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: Number of link entities in query exceeded maximum limit.
The same view exports to Excel with no issues via IE.
I have seen references to this error but nothing that has helped or pointed out a difference to look at between the Outlook Client versus IE.
    Regards
    Robert

if this is machine specific and Outlook Client related then I would start with ensuring the machine has all the latest Office and OS updates not just the latest security patch but all the latest updates.  You'll also want to ensure there are no other
add-ins causing a conflict in Outlook, virus protection is not causing an issue, the machine has sufficient memory, etc.  Basically ensure the machine has been optimized for the Outlook Client.

    Nihath

    Hello Nihath,
As per your description, you have to read each and every items in list with column value then only you can generate excel. There is direct way to export datatable to excel but in your case you will also need to iterate Col3 value to create new row in excel.
I would suggest to use CAML query to get all items then check Col3 value. If there are multiple value then add them as new datatable row and finally export full datatable to excel.
    Here is link for CAML:

    Export datatable to excel:

Finally add this feature in ribbon:

    Hope it could help

  • Exporting selected parameters into Excel?

    Hi,
I am using Disco viewer and plus BI. How do I configure my report in Plus BI, so that using the export functionality (XLS) in the viewer, the chosen user parameter values are exported too into the Excel file. This would help the user to remember what is his exported spreadsheet about even after a day he/she saved it.
I am using Disco over a relational RDBMS.
    Tamas Szecsy

Have you tried inserting the parameters into the title of the report?
These will export to Excel from Plus and Viewer.
