Export CLOB data in flat file from oracle 8i
hi,
I am in a bad situation. The oracle system crashed and i am trying to retrieve from backup. The backup was hot online backup and for some reason didnt happen correctly. Only thing remaining is DBF and redo log. I somehow managed to recreated the control files. But i cannot login to oracle using sqlplus using any user. Only thing that works is server manager and connect as internal.
Now i need to retrieve data from tables having CLOB data to a flat file.
Any suggestions?
using oracle 8.1.
The backup was hot online backup and for some reason didnt happen correctly.How did you verify this?
But i cannot login to oracle using sqlplus using any userDo you get any error?

SSIS - Exporting Data into flat files from Oracle Table as batchwise process
Hi All,
Thanks in advance.
I have a Large Table in Oracle Database with some 3 Lakhs record. I need to fetch the 10,000 records for every iteration and export it into the flat file. This process should occur recursively until the table becomes empty.
Hence, For every iteration on flat file to be generated with 10,000 records.
Please help how to proceed further in SSIS.
Thanks
Pyarajan.SYes, it always helps if your question doesn't specify the actual requirements...
Use the FOR loop container to control the iterations of the data flow. For each run you read 10,000 rows from the table and dump them in a flat file. Either move the flat file, or use an expression on the flat file connection manager to give them dynamic
file names.
30 million rows is also not a problem by the way, it just takes a bit longer.

FM to tansfer data in flat file from presentation to application server
Hi Experts,
Please tell the FM to tansfer data in flat file from presentation server to application server or vice versa in ECC 6.0.
Thanks.Hi,
This is how you can achieve it:
1. You read the flat file from presentation layer and store the file content in internal table gt_inrec
CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD'
EXPORTING
filename = gw_filename
filetype = 'ASC'
IMPORTING
filelength = gw_length
header = gw_header
TABLES
data_tab = gt_inrec
EXCEPTIONS
file_open_error = 1
file_read_error = 2
no_batch = 3
gui_refuse_filetransfer = 4
invalid_type = 5
no_authority = 6
unknown_error = 7
bad_data_format = 8
header_not_allowed = 9

unknown_dp_error = 12
access_denied = 13
dp_out_of_memory = 14
disk_full = 15
dp_timeout = 16
OTHERS = 17.
2. Create a new file at the application server:
OPEN DATASET p_ofile FOR OUTPUT IN
TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
3. Transfer the content from the internal table into the file at the application server:
LOOP AT gt_inrec.
TRANSFER gt_inrec-record TO p_ofile.
ENDLOOP.

How can I get data in flat file from Pool table and cluster table ?
Hi,
I am working in one Achiving project. My requirement is to get data into flat file from Cluster table and pool table.
Is there any tool avilable to download data into flat file from pool table and cluster table ?
if table name given in the selection screen then data will be downloaded into flat file.
waiting for quick response.
Best Regards,
BansidharData cannot be retrived directly form the cluster table
as the Cluster results are stored in Cluster Key say for example PCLkey
and form that Key we need to fetch the data
these clustes are not the part of PNP or PNPCE tables

Extracting a flat file from oracle table
I have moved the knowledge module KIM ISO SQL to FileAppend from the Metadata to my project folder.
But when I create an interface mapping the oracle table and a flat file on a different unix server, in the drop down menu , it shows only KIM SQL TO SQL and KIM Control Append.It does not show up the SQL to FileAppend knowledge module option.
What should I do to extract a flat file from oracle table?
Thanks
Hima
Overstock.comAll IKM in the Drop Down Menu are dependent of the target technology.

Access Flat Files From Oracle Forms Using Simba
Hi,
I need to access Flat Files using Simba and display the data using Oracle Forms on Solaris. The Flat Files, Simba and Oracle Forms is on Solaris.
Thanks.
Sanjay R Naidu.Hi,
not knowing the flat file's format and why you need SIMBA for it, Forms provides a text_io package that can read from files. You need to parse the file's content and then bring this to a datablock.

Error while generating a flat file from oracle database
i have imported three knowledge modules for the interafce.
LKM SQL to SQL
IKM SQL to FILE Append
CKM oracle
I have tried executing the interface in following ways
1. checked the staging area different from target and choosed SUNOPSIS_MEMORY_ENGINE. three boxes appeared in the flow but i could not see any of the knowledge modules in the flow and i could not select form the drop down also.
all the three boxes were showing the error.
2. checked the staging area different from target and choosed a oracle logical schema. my flow has two boxes.
For the source i have given LKM SQL to SQL and for target i have given IKM SQL to FILE append
But the interface is erroring out while creating the load table... the error message is missing parameter
IS there anything i have to do apart from thisif your file ouput file has Date field,Numeric field then there is a chance for failure. Try making all the output fields as Varchar2.

The source is csv file. By default all columns are string type.The integration is failing at step 3 ( load Data).
I am loading the data from csv file directly to staging table( oracle ).Its one to one mapping.

Exporting CLOB data w/Oracle 8i
Is there a way to export CLOB data from a table to an external
file in a directory of our choice??? Our application
specification is asking us to build this capability but I am
unable to find any way to do this. Any assistance would be
useful. Thanks a million!!
nullOCI really seems like the right way to do this. You know you have to use something like C to interact with the port. And the only Oracle stuff you are doing is an insert. You could even write the insert in a stored proc and call it from OCI. Below is an example of that. You should really give OCI a shot at this. I'm certain you can learn enough of it for this project.

Invalid data format on EXPORTING table to SQL-FLAT FILE (Insert type)
Hi there!
Writing from Slovenia/Europe.
Working with ORACLE9i (standard version) on Windows XP with SQL-deloper 1.0.0.015.
FIRST SQL.-DEVELOPER IS GOOD TOOL WITH SOME MINOR ERRORS.
1.) Declare and Insert data EXAMPLE
drop table tst_date;
create table tst_date (fld_date date);
insert into tst_date values (sysdate);
insert into tst_date values (sysdate);
2.) Retriving date with SQLPLUS
SQL> select to_char(fld_date,'DD.MM.YYYY HH24:MI:SS') FROM TST_DATE;
23.10.2006 11:25:23
23.10.2006 11:25:25
As you see TIME DATA IS CORRECT.
When I EXPOPRT data TO SQL-insert type I got this result IN TST_DATE.SQL file:
-- INSERTING into TST_DATE
Insert into "TST_DATE" ("FLD_DATE") values (to_date('2006-10-23','DD.MM.RR'));
Insert into "TST_DATE" ("FLD_DATE") values (to_date('2006-10-23','DD.MM.RR'));
As you seel I lost TIME DATA.
QUESTION!
HOW CAN I SET PROPER DATE FORMAT IN SQL-DEVELOPER BEFORE I EXPORT DATA TO FLAT FILE.
Best regards, Iztok from SLOVENIA

DEKUSA DATE-Field, is a DATE-Field and not a
DATE-TIME-Field.
The export-tool identifies a DATE-Field and exports
the data into date-format.This is not true. Oracle DATE fields include a time element.
To the original poster - I believe this is a bug in the current version.
See this thread for possible workarounds Bad Export format --- BUG ???

Whenever I reply to an e-mail the window comes up but without the paper airplane in the top left corner. The only way to send the reply is to close it and save as a draft. Then I can pull it up from Drafts and it has the airplane on it.
