Export from capture devices problem !!
Hi,
I'm trying to export audio and video from capture devices (typically a mic. and a web cam), the capture process goes fine, I can even preview everything, but the problem comes when I try to export, I always get the "NoDataSinkException", and I don't know why ??
Please, I need help urgently
hmm..I ment that although the jmf pack is installed the program is not detecting any video devices, but when I run jmstudio the program detect video devices successfully.. so my question is..where is the problem?; when I copy the jmstudio sorce code to my ECLIPSE I run it but when I ask the program to seach for video devices the program can't detect any video devices!

XML Document Not working / Capture device problems HELP!
Whenever i open the xml file from justin.tv it always says "Log File Cannot Be Created," then ist says "Profile Vlidation"
And whenever i select my captutre card it always says " Problem With Video Capture Device"
Somone please help me!
(i have attached the xml file that keeps on crashing for me)You are getting "Log File Cannot Be Created" error because when you download XML file from someone else computer then FMLE by default folder takes path for Log file as his "My Videos" folder. So while checking the profil, FMLE gets to know that this profile is not perfect and hence gives "Profile Validation Error" and then silently corercts those errors. After clicking OK on "Profile Validation error" window, you can go to Encoding log tab and check the changes that were made in FMLE on above the settings of your XML profile file.
You are getting "Problem With Video Capture Device" because either the drivers of your device are not corerctly isntalled on your machine or your device is busy with some other application or your device is not connected properly. Please check the drivers and connectivity of your device and make sure that your device gives RAW/Uncompressed Video format only -
Capture device problem with JMF
Hi,
I am doing audio and video transmission using the AVTransmit2 program. This program is at the server side. When 1client requests a transmission, it works fine. I am able to receive the audio and video. But when i have more than 1client i get the error: "Capture device in use", "Cannot create data source". I have created 2 players to render the audio and video on the screen.
Note: I am using an Object Request Broker(Visibroker) to route the client requests to the server and sending the replies back to the clients.
Please help, it's urgent.
For any reply e-mail me at:
Thanking you in advance. No, sorry. Haven't got an solutions yet........
However messing around with the permissions and settings in etc/security/console.perms and /etc/udev/50-udev.rules is causing it to not work in root either.....so i think it has something to do with it. However not figured it out yet.
But these files and setting do not apply to windows.....
Does anybody hav a solutions for the problem?
Greeting,
Olly -
How to send audio via RTP from captured device and media file together?
Hi there,
I have this application which can send audio stream via RTP using AVTransmit.java.
In this application, there is this button which will play a short tune (via java.applet.AudioClip) when i clicked on it.
My question is, how can I transmit this short tune to the other side along with the current audio stream via RTP?
Thank you!Hi there,
Thank you for the replies. I have tried creating another stream to send the media file. Although it's workable, the other side is unable to handle 2 incoming stream. The receving end does not hear a combined audio. Sometimes i hear the media file's audio, sometimes i hear the other.
Is it possible to merged the media file's audio into the existing rtp stream on the fly? Or piped the media file's audio to the capture datasource? -
Hi Support,
I am trying to use FMLE to encode and stream video from an Axis P1346 IP camera, via Axis' Streaming Assistant software, to a Wowza server.
Everyting appears to be working perfectly and the encoding and resultant stream quality is excellent. Sometimes after a few hours and sometimes after just a few minutes, the encoding will stop with the following error:
Tue Mar 26 2013 11:47:18 : Session Stopped
Tue Mar 26 2013 11:47:18 : Problem with capture device. Incorrect samples given by the device. Stopping encoding session.
I have attached a recent log of a session that only lasted a few minutes - do you have any ideas on how to resolve this instability?

Playing video from a capture device - Out of memory for video buffers?
Hello guys, I'm having problems playing video from a video capture device when not using JMStudio. When I use JMStudio, the video plays real time with no problems, but when I use code taken from a java book which is a simple Media Player, I get the following error:
"Error is Error: Out of memory for video buffers."
My capture device is working and I don't know why i get this error when trying to watch the video feed from a program other than JMStudio. I also tried different code that has worked in the past with the same exact capture device and I still get the same error. Please help, I have no clue at this point. The code for the simple media player is below, it's taken out of the book "Java: How to Program (4th edition)":
Thanks in advance, I am very greatful
Miguel
device info: vfw:Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32):0
When I type the locator, I am typing vfw://0, I also tried just vfw://
and I get the same error.

Problem with Video capture Device
i have a problem with FME. i am using Avermedia TV capture
device and Canon 3ccd Digital Video Camcorder ( PAL ) when i open
the FME interface the warning given for " Problem with Video
Capture Device".
i read all the topics in Flash Media Encoder Category, if
this problem occures my capture device ( i expect MPEG ) how to
solve this problem?
Thanks,The Device Matrix is something we'll be updating in the
future as we continue to test more and more equipement. Ideally, I
would like for users such as yourselves to be able to add to it and
tell us what has worked for you as well. If anyone has any ideas
about what technology we should use to do this (e.g., this forum? a
wiki?) please let me know.
Regarding the devices not working - the main problem we see
is that the system requirements are not being met. Here is what to
check for:
- are you running on Windows XP (only supported OS right
now)?
- do you have DirectX client runtime version 9c or higher
installed?
- do you have hardware acceleration enabled?
- do you have 32bit graphics enabled?
- do you have the latest direct show drivers from the
card/device manufacturer?
Thanks,
Chris Hock

Tue May 05 2009 14:26:56 : Audio Device Error : The selected audio device "Beholder Aud Capture (SAA7135)" doesn't allow setting volume intensity. Disabling the volume slider control.
Flash Media Encoder 2.5 working without any errorsThe second message that you are getting "The selected audio device "Beholder Aud Capture (SAA7135)" doesn't allow setting volume intensity. Disabling the volume slider control." is because your device does not let you change intensity of volume. This warning message is just to tell user that volume slider will remain disabled for the selecetd device. This is new addition in FMLE 3.0 and was not there in FMLE 2.5
Also for first message, please make sure that no other instance of FMLE is already running using this device. You can verify this from task manager. If any other instance of FMLE is running then please close that instance so that device gets free for new instance. -
Pulling packet capture from IPS device
I work for a MSP (Managed Services Provider), we currently are evaluating CSM for mgt of 50 IPS/IDSM devices. To make analysis more effective, want to be able to pull the packet capture from the device. We have our own correlation engine, so we do not need MARS. We want to grab the packet and then put a copy into our ticketing system so the analyst has the data right in front of them.
Is the IP Log directory where the packet capture data is kept? Has anyone ever tried this before? What are the performance/health concerns with enabling packet captures for just high signatures? Does the IP log directory really "clean" itself out after a certain period of time? There are 4 event actions that can be used to capture packets.
The produce-verbose-alert event action will encode the trigger packet as part of the alert itself. So with this event action the packet is already included in the alerts you are already pulling off the sensor. You just need to modify your tool to strip off this packet, decode it, and then add it to your ticketing system at the same time as you add the alert.
This is where I would start.
Using the produceVerboseAlert uses very little additional sensor resources. It has only a very small affect on sensor performance. Because each alert will be larger than normal it will reduce the total number of alerts that can be stored in the sensor's eventstore. But if your application is actively subscribing for these events, then the reduction in total number of alerts stored on the sensor should not cause you any issues. So adding this for all High alerts woulc be a good practice.
The other 3 event actions are log-attacker-packets, log-pair-packets, and log-victim-packets. These event actions will trigger an IP Log (packet log) to be created (or increase the time for capture on an existing IP Log.
The IP Log system is a collection of numbered files on the sensor. As event actions trigger new IP Logs to be created the sensor will pick one of those numbered files and begin writing packets to that file. The sensor retains an internal mapping of what packets are being written to each file. If no empty files exist, then the sensor will automatically overwrite the oldest IP Log file with the new IP Log file. Larger platforms have up to 512 of these numbered files, and smaller platforms may have as few as 128 or even 64 of these numbered files. Each file is 1 Megabyte in size and usually stored in RAM memory. With the limited number of files, the storage of these logs on the sensor is very short term. And so should be pulled off the sensor as soon as possible (just like what you are planning to implement). The sensor also has a usual limit of only writing 20 IP Log files at any one time.
With these limitations on the IP Log files they shoudl be used sparingly. Configuring too many signatures or signatures that trigger often with these event actions can lead to problems. The IP Logs could easily be overwritten by newer IP Logs being triggered, and/or more than 20 could be requested at any one time which means some alerts won't be able to have an IP Log created.
So IP Logging event actions should be limited to only those alerts where the additional data is manditory.
Also understand that IP Logging can have a negative impact on sensor performance. If you plan on using IP Logging often, then consider using a sensor rated for higher speeds than what you will be monitoring. -
Play video from video capture device
I tried fixing my running of out memory for the video buffers problem but could find a fix. I have tried code from a book and it doesn't work. I can only get the video feed to display the video from the capture device using JMStudio, so the device works fine. Maybe my coding methodology/process is incorrect.
Is there anyone out there that knows of some working code that plays live video in a window from a video capture device. Any other help regarding to displaying capture video would help. Please help.
Thanks in advance.I am using the Belkin USB VideoBus II and it uses the video for windows drivers (vfw), so yet it is supported. And it works when I use JMStudio to play the live feed from the capture device. Thanks for the suggestion.
I also ran the code suggested above and I still get the same errors. Thanks for your suggestions. Any other help or suggestions would be appreciated. -
Transmitting and playing from same capture device simultaneously?
I am creating a videoconference software. For that I need to display the video from my system and at the same time need to transmit the video to a remote system.
I have no idea how to do this. I have created a data source for the capturing device and using that for creating player and processor to play and transmit respectively.
But the problem is the player is stoping when the video is getting transmitted.
Can some one tell me how can I solve this problem.
Thanking you in advance,

Problem printing pdfs exported from IDCS3 to hp color laserjet 2550L
Since upgradingn to IDCS3, whenever I print a pdf exported from ID to my hp color laserjet 2550L, the graphics print with a red overlay and other colors change as well (black type prints brown, blue prints maroon). If I print the file to a .ps file, then distill it, I don't have the problem. If possible, I prefer to export because it's quicker. Is there a fix to this?
Thanks in advance!Check the HP site for a newer driver for your printer.

Importing problems (hi 8 camera-capture device-imovie)
i am importing from an old canon es3000 hi-8 (analog) camera, through a miglia "director's cut" capture device, to imovie (via firewire) ... there is fragmented line at the bottom of the frame in imovie during import. will that show up in idvd later? also, the imovie is not seperating the clips, so i end up with one long clip. after about 10 minutes the digital footage in imovie becomes fragmented throughout the frame. does anybody know why this is happening? thanks in advance, R.B.
