Export from table with SQLDeveloper 4

My Oracle instance 10G is unicode (AL32UTF8) and I have some tables inside with multilingual content in columns (greek, polish by example)
SQLDeveloper access to the instance trough jdbc thin
With the previous version of SQLDeveloper (before 4) I made Table Export as xml, csv and sql files. As result I had the right charcaters in the export files and I was happy...
Now, with SQLDeveloper version 4 all multilingual characeters are replaced by ?. That means wrong characters conversions are occured
Bug ?

I don't think this is a good protection: you can have these characters in VARCHAR anyway, and this way you "throw the baby out with the bath water". Not mentioning that right now also immune formats like HTML are also limited.

  • Problems with retrieving data from tables with 240 and more records

    Hi,
I've been connecting to Oracle 11g Server (not sure exact version) using Oracle 10.1.0 Client and O10 Oracle 10g driver. Everything was ok.
I installed Oracle 11.2.0 Client and I started to have problems with retrieving data from tables.
First I used the same connection string, driver and so on (O10 Oracle 10g) then I tried ORA Oracle but with no luck. The result is like this:
I'm able to connect to database. I'm able to retrieve data but from small tables (e.g. with 110 records it works perfectly using both O10 and ORA drivers). When I try to retrieve data from tables with like 240 and more records retrieval simply hangs (nothing happens at all - no error, no timeout). Application seems to hang forever.
I'm using Powerbuilder to connect to Database (either PB10.5 using O10 driver or PB12 using ORA driver). I used DBTrace, so I see that query hangs on the first FETCH.
So for the retrievals that hang I have something like:
    (3260008): BIND SELECT OUTPUT BUFFER (DataWindow):(DBI_SELBIND) (0.186 MS / 18978.709 MS)
    (3260008): ,len=160,type=DECIMAL,pbt=4,dbt=0,ct=0,prec=0,scale=0
    (3260008): ,len=160,type=DECIMAL,pbt=4,dbt=0,ct=0,prec=0,scale=1
    (3260008): ,len=160,type=DECIMAL,pbt=4,dbt=0,ct=0,prec=0,scale=0
    (3260008): EXECUTE:(DBI_DW_EXECUTE) (192.982 MS / 19171.691 MS)
    (3260008): FETCH NEXT:(DBI_FETCHNEXT)
and this is the last line,
while for retrievals that end, I have FETCH producing time, data in buffer and moving to the next Fetch until all data is retrieved
On the side note, I have no problems with retrieving data either by SQL Developer or DbVisualizer.
Problems started when I installed 11.2.0 Client. Even if I want to use 10.0.1 Client, the same problem occurs. So I guess something from 11.2.0 overrides 10.0.1 settings.
    I will appreciate any comments/hints/help.
    Thank you very much.

Installing 11g client changed something that even using old 10g client (which I still have installed) fails to work. The same problem occur no matter I'm using 10g or 11g client now. Powerbuilder hangs on retrieving tables with more than like 240 records.

  • Export - only tables with data

    Hai Everybody!
I have a database in Oracle, which is having hundreds of tables. When i export the database, all the tables will be exported into the .dmp file.

That is why, if you try export that table with exp utility, it will not be exported.

  • How Can I Export A Table With Its Entries ( values )

    Hi guys,
How can i export a table with the entries that the table is populated with ??!!
    Best Regards,
    Fateh

To export a table and its data you can do it a number of ways.. Do you have access to SQL Developer? If not you can do it through the APEX SQL Workshop..
Under SQL Workshop, Utilities, Data Unload, To text (or XML, whichever you are more comfortable with..).. Select your schema, click next button, select the table, click next, select the columns you want exported (select ALL ITEMS in the select List), click next, on optionally enclosed by I usually enter a " (Sometimes I have long strings in columns), click the include column names checkbox to get the column names at the top of the document, click unload data button..
To get the ddl (code to build table) Sql Workshop, utilities, generate ddl, create script, select schema, select next, click table checkbox, select next, click the checkbox of table you want to get ddl for...

  • Problem with Exporting a Table with BLOB data.

    Hello All,
I get error messages while exporting a table from Oracle8i ( 8.1.7.4.1), containing BLOB data:
ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number with name "" too small
    ORA-22924: snapshot too old
Metalink says there is a bug in release 8.1.7.4.1 and suggests to create a new tablespace (with manual space management) ant move BLOB object to this TB.
Can i solve this problem without creating a new tablespace ?
Maybe somebody's experienced in such problem.
    thank you in advance.

Maybe you could solve Your problem without creating new tablespace.
Consider changing the value of MAX_ROLLBACK_SEGMENTS to max value if currently is not at that value and creating new bigger rollback segments.

Just wanted to find out, if you already solved this problem. I have a similar issue with long column. I am trying to sql dump a table with long column that will be imported into another database(probably using sql*load), but the spooled file puts the data from the long column in separate lines 80 char long and not on a single line. I have set the long to 64000 and linesize to 32000. Wrap is on too.

  • Data pump export single tables with specific criteria with the API

Hello, I'm trying to export some table data from a schema using dbms_datapump API, but it gives me problems and it takes too much time to elaborate and I don't understand why! I want to export data only in a dmp file, that I will use later to import in an other schema. I'm using Oracle 10g R2 .

Welcome to the forums. When pasting code use the {  code  } tags for better readability. See the FAQ for other details. And always feel free to include all the ddl/dml for your test cases so we don't have to do much more than run your code to reproduce it ourselves.
I've had very little luck with NAME_LISTs. Though I know you can do similar with NAME_EXPR:
    SQL> create table table1 as select * from dba_tables where rownum <= 20;
    Table created.
    SQL> create table table2 as select * from dba_tables where rownum <= 20;

  • How to export a table with half a million rows?

I need to export a table that has 535,000 rows. I tried to export to Excel and it exported only 65,535 rows. I tried to export to a text file and it said it was using the clipboard (?) and 65,000 rows was the maximum. Surely there has to be a way to export
the entire table. I've been able to import much bigger csv files than this, millions of rows.

What version of Access are you using?  Are you attempting to copy and paste records or are you using Access' export functionality from the menu/ribbon?  I'm using Access 2010 and just exported a million record table to both a text file and to Excel
(.xlsx format).  Excel 2003 (using .xls 97-2003 format) does have a limit of 65,536 rows but the later .xlsx format does not.

  • Questions regarding Excel Export from Table

    Hello,
i've implemented the Excel Export described in this blog:
    /people/sap.user72/blog/2006/05/04/enhancing-tables-in-webdynpro-java-150-custom-built-table-utilities
It works fine, but i have 2 question:
    - You have to add your Columns who want to get in Excel in the ArrayList. I have a table with LayoutOption (make Columns Visible/Invisible) and want to get all visible columns in my Excel list. You can i realize that?
    - My Excel List is shown in my existing Browser Window, but i want to open a new Window, how can i do that?
    Kind Regards,
    Christopher

    Hello Cristopher,
    For the first Qst:
Lets think in this way; you have set two column fields invisible and in wdModifyView() check if the columns are visible set a flag and accordingly you can set the header at the getColumnInfo() function.
Preferably use switch case to check the ArrayList selection and adding values to it.
    For the second Qst:
Its all about the Browser property; where you have to set the option New window should be opened in new window. This will work.
+in case of Mozilla; in Tools->option->Tab->new window should be open in
    new window
    new Tab
    +
    Select new window
