Help in XML Report output

Hi Experts,
I have created the XML report which will generate the output in EXCEL format. I have used the template(rtf) to generate the output. I am facing the critical issue the output file (excel) is giving output with headings( ex: empno,ename,job..)even if there is no record count in the query.
But some times it gives the empty file(excel) without the heading information if the record count is zero.
Could anyone suggest me to solve this error.
Any solution or link will be great help for me. Waiting for your valueable reply
Thanks in Advance,
Ravi.

  • How to include input user parameter values in XML report output?

How can i include input user parameter values in XML report output. I a have a report which can be run by providing start date and end date. I would like to include value of these parameters in XML output to enable me to figure out dates for report, just by looking at XML output.
    Rgds,
    manish

I think all the XML attributes can contain lexicals. If you bring up the property palette against the report object you can just set the following:
    XML Tag Attributes: myParameter="&<P_1>"
where P_1 is your user parameter.

  • Barcode's in R12.1.1 xml report output's (English and Arabic)

    Dear Frednds,
we are using R12.1.1 and we need to get the barcode output's (in place of numbers) in out xml report output's.
We need it in English report and also in Arabic reports (it has seperate arabic template file)
Please let us know the method?
    Regards,
    DB

    Desar Hussein,
    1) we have downloaded and installed the Font Code128bWinLarge.ttf on windows PC.
2)Set the barcode font for the required field in the rtf Template.
    3) Copied the font file, Code128bWinLarge.ttf to $OA_JRE_TOP/lib/fonts
    4) Copied xdo.cfg file from our local desktop where we have BI publisher installed to
    $OA_JRE_TOP/lib Directory.
5)added these lines locating barcode font location ($OA_JRE_TOP/lib/fonts
    /Code128bWinLarge.ttf)accordingly.
Now For English reports we are getting the barcode
But for Arabic reports we are getting junk characters
so is there any other font available for Arabic barcode.Plerase suggest

  • How do i save FSG xml report output to External Drive.

We are implementing XML publisher to replace our ADI. How i save xml publisher report output to network drive also need to change report name dynamically.
    The answer from oracle is
:There is no built-in functionality to do what is requested however,
the output file exists at the O/S level and a printer DRIVER can be created and in the "Arguments" field, a copy command can be entered instead of the print command"
how do i implement this. help please

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
Do you want to merge these libraries into one? If so, then you'll need the paid version ($20) of  iPhoto Library Manager
It's the only way to merge Libraries while preserving all metadata, versions and so on.
Otherwise, simply rename one of the Libraries (so they don't overwite each other) and Copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder to the External Disk. in each case.
To choose which library to open: holf down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location.

  • Xml report output not producing for Request sets.

    Hi,
I build a xml report which has basically a request set of 2 programs
    1. the first program populates some staging table - pl/sql based program
    2. the second program is an xml report that reports off the staging table
What is happening is that the second program loses the layout once submitted via request set. If you run them one by one it works fine but if you run them as a set and even enter the layout definition, it still doesn’t work and no output is produced.
    Any ideas?
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Naresh

    Hi Naresh
I think you may be better off amending your process slightly - rather than using a request set, submit the second request from the first. This way you will be able to use the fnd_request.add_layout function which sets up the layout template for the concurrent request. It's not perfect, but at least it works!

  • Xml report output in excel format without using options tab in EBS

How to get xml publisher report output in excel format without using options tab in EBS?
I am getting XML Publisher report output in excel format by using options tab while submitting the concurrent request .
But i want to get excel output automatically.
Can anyone give idea to get XML publisher Report output in excel without selecting options tab.
    Thanks in advance
    Sandeep V

    Hey Sandeep,
I am working on a similar format for a report and if possible can you please give me some guidelines. I have initially created reports using XML Publisher, but for those , the output preview format was PDF. So, if I select the preview format as EXCEL will it give me output in Excel and for this to happen, how do I define the rtf template. I believe the working will be same as for PDF, create a rdf report, get output in XML and apply the template to get the data in Excel or there is something different to this.
    Thanks,
    Sunil

If I open a report (open in web browser, not in Excel) and press "Export to Microsoft Excel", I get a XML file which includes the data values as well. I must not log in to the system in Excel that`s only needed if I open the report directly in excel.

  • Numerical Characters Formatting Problem With XML Report Output Run From Command Line

    Hi,
    Problem description is:
When a BI Publisher concurrent job is submitted as a child job of a PL/SQL type concurrent request, the locale in OPP is not set same as of RTF template selected. This results in number format and date format localization not work as expected. For example, when BI Publisher child job is submitted after attaching RTF template (through fnd_request.add_layout API) having language-territory as de-DE, the number format on PDF output comes out as 9,999.00 instead of 9.999,00.
    Points to notice:
    1. In OPP log we noticed that xslt._XDOLOCALE always has value EN-GB irrespective of language-territory of attached RTF template
    2. NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTER column in fnd_concurrent_request table has no value for BI Publisher job. We can set it up through fnd_request.set_options API but it is not a desired solution. We need that OPP should automatically choose correct number format depending on locale of selected RTF template
    3. When same child BI Publisher job's output is re-processed through "XML Publisher Report" program and de-DE locale is chosen for RTF template then the number format localization works fine.
Please help us to understand root cause of this issue and how it can be resolved.
    Thanks!
