Export global address book from iPhone

I have a user with an iPhone 4 who is trying to export his old global address list into his contacts.
The contacts are set to sync and everything else seems to be synching, except for their old global address list. It does show as a separate address book on the iPhone.
Is there a way to force the address to export from the iPhone, or perhaps an App that can draw this information out of the phone?

Hi,
Please try the following commands:
$filter = (Get-GlobalAddressList 'Default Global Address List').RecipientFilter
Get-Recipient -RecipientPreviewFilter $filter | Where-Object {$_.HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -ne $false} | Select-Object Name,PrimarySmtpAddress | Export-CSV c:\GAL.csv -NoTypeInformation
Thanks,
Winnie Liang

  • How to download the address book from Iphone to the computer

i want to create an address backup in the macbook, but don't how to save the address book from Iphone 4 to the computer.

Syncing of the contacts from the iPhone to the Mac address book is accomplished through iTunes. Once the iPhone is connected, you go to the Info tab in iTunes and select to sync the contacts to the particular application, in your case, Address book. Make sure you have at least one contact in address book you don't have on the iPhone to ensure it gives you the option to merge the two. That is the only way to get the contact onto the computer. Then you can backup the computer.

  • How do I export my address book from my iphone 4 onto my imac address book

I did a clean install of OSX today, and have backed up most things I need, but I can't get back my address book contacts.
I searched other forums which said I can find my contacts under Library/Application Support/AddressBook, however when I go there, I have no address book folder/file in Application Support.  Is there somewhere else i am supposed to find it, or, if Time Machine has failed me and not backed up my address book contacts, they are still intact on my iphone and ipad...can i transfer them from either of these to my iMac.
Cheers, and thanks for the help.

  • Restore iTunes and Address Book from iPhone

Ok, so my G5 iSight had a a hard drive failure and I have had it replaced with a shiny new hard drive and been upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard. So far, so good. Now I would like to have all my iTunes and Address book data back. Currently the only copy I have is on my iPhone 3G.
How exactly do I restore all this information to iTunes, from my iPhone 3G, without iTunes overwriting the iPhone and deleting all the of very precious data I have on it?
    Any step-by-step instructions gratefully received.

How are you installing Snow Leopard on a G5?
Disregarding this, I'm not sure you're allowed to...but seeing that this post hasn't yet been removed, I think I can comment...
For the music part, you can use iRip.
For the rest, check out this Google search. I'm getting blocked from the sites right now, but hopefully you'll have better luck with your internet.

  • Disable the global address book from email app?

I am syncing with Exchange, and when I go to type an address in the email application it first shows me the result from my contacts before flooding the suggestion list with crap from the GAL.
i.e. If I type "t" into the "TO" box it first shows a few results, my friend Tim, my other friend last name Thompson etc. Then after a second or 2, the list is flooded with any of the thousands of people in the GAL.
Is there no way to disable this? I never want to use the GAL really, but I do need to sync my contacts with Exchange.

  • How to Restore Address Book from iPhone

My client's AddressBook.data file (Tiger 10.4.11) got corrupted, and she has no backup. (It's a long story.) However, her iPhone has everything on it!
    We have two questions:
    1) Is there a way we can be sure that the iTunes sync process will copy from her iPhone to her AddressBook.data file and not the other way around?
    2) Her iTunes is set to automatically sync when she plugs the phone into her dock. Is there a way to turn this automatic feature off so we can get at the iTunes controls before it starts syncing?
    3) Is there any other way to get her contacts from her iPhone?

We figured it out in the iPhone category of topics. It worked!

  • Export aol address book to iphoe

Is there a way to export an address book from an AOL account to an iphone?

Mail refers to the Address Book application on your hard disk. Do you have addresses in the online Address Book which are not in the Address Book application?
You should be able to sync the online address book with the application: see this page -
    http://www.mac.com/1/learningcenter/Modules/qgdmSynct1.html
It's not something I'm familiar with, and I would suggest you raise the question in the .Mac forum -

  • How can I download my address book from other e-mail accounts of mine?

I left yahoo as my default e-mail because the contact address book no longer functions. I can only get my list as I compose a message and begin typing the name. I have other e-mail accounts such as Comcast and g-mail. How can I import them into my new default Thunderbird address book?

Export the address books from your providers as a comma separated file. Type .CSV file.
Then open the address book window in Thunderbird and use Tools-Import to bring them into Thunderbird.

  • Sync between MacBookPro and iPhone 3G does not sync properly.  Calendars duplicate events but worse is that only contacts from Address book from letter T onwards sync.  Any contacts on iPhone which are not on Mac are lost during sync.

    Solutions?

No, I never really found an easy solution.  I believe it is an issue with some corruption in the iTunes database on the specific device.  In my case, both my iPad and iPhone now show duplicate stream songs if viewed through iTunes on my Mac, but they show different songs.  A couple years ago I had a similar issue on my iPhone, and Apple support suggested I back up the phone, completely reset it, and then restore it from the backup.  It did work, so I imagine it would probably work for my current issues with the iPhone and iPad.  But resetting and restoring an iPad or iPhone always makes me a little nervous that something will get lost.  When I did reset/restore the iPhone, I do have to say, the restore process was 100% perfect and I did not lose any data at all even though Apple support said I might.  If you try to go that route, I would suggest backing the device up both to a computer through iTunes, and to the iCloud so that you have a double backup.
None of this really resolves the issue with how the iTunes databases are becoming corrupted on the apple devices though, so it is very likely to happen again until they fix it.  I have been unable to determine if there were any specific actions or conditions which caused the corruption to happen in the first place.
Might be worth another call to Apple support, or dropping in the local Apple store if you have one near by.

  • How do I download my address book from my iphone to the bluetooth in my Mercedes GLK?

I can't get my car to accept my address book from my iPhone.  I hate the idea of having to hand enter all the numbers and names.

iSync is not included in Lion. You can copy it from a 10.6 installation, and it will probably work.

Check the manual http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf, but it is done via the syncing process with iTunes or iCloud.

  • HT1296 I have the original iPhone and I can't sync the address book from my Mac to the iPhone. What should be the problem and can I sync?

I have the original iPhone and I can't sync the address book from my Mac to the iPhone. What should be the problem and can I sync?

Thanks a lot for the answer. I'm so upset, have no even one contact on my phone. I has to do with the moving to iCloud from MobileMe.
I did exactly what you wrote, and when trying to click the vcf file on the iPhone the screen freezing, and then after few long seconds it goes alon to home.
So I tried less contacts in a Vcard, and i'm dividing my address book, doing little by little and it work.
    Thank you so much.
I still dont get why the sync with my computer address book is not working.
And why when I moved to icloud all the photos I had next to the contacts are disappered.
I had my iPad, which it still, I did not move from MobileMe to iCloud and all the photos are there!
Anything I can do to use the iCloud on the iPad as well and update the iCloud with the photos?

Although clunky as you say, this sounds like a reasonably efficient way to accomplish what I was seeking.
Address Book has no global find/replace. Bob Grove suggested one possible workaround; however, a grep-capable text editor (eg, TextWrangler) is better than TextEdit if complex strings are involved.
An alternative is Bento (which is designed specifically to interact with the AB database), but it's not free.
