Export of ALSB prj using WLST

Hi all,
the following lines export a ALSB prj using WLST:
if ALSBConfigurationMBean.exists(projectRef):
bytes = ALSBConfigurationMBean.exportProjects(Collections.singleton(projectRef), None)
file = open(fileName, 'wb')
file.write(String(bytes))
file.close()
The target file is created but if I verify the created file I got an error:

Updating an ALSB configuration using WLST

I've been using the AquaLogic Service Bus Deployment API (http://e-docs.bea.com/alsb/docs21/deploy/config_appx.html) to export and import an ALSB configuration from my development environment to the test environment. When the system is going to production I want the WLST-scripts to be a part of the installation scripts.
It looks like the import features of ALSB is designed to append and overwrite the imported configuration. Configuration elements that does not exist in the imported configuration will not be deleted from the target configuration. This will, over time, cause the production environment to end up as an enormous garbage can if nobody goes in and cleans it from time to time.
We have as requirements that all installation must be done automatically (untouched by humans), so my question is:
<li>How can I ensure consistency between the configuration I deliver and the production environment?
</li>
The most obvious place to look for such an opportunity should be in the import utility. But, as far as I can see, there is no <i>replace configuration</i> option available for the DeploymentMBean.
BEA develops MBeans for the most of the service components. So it should also exist MBeans that can be used to programmatically configure ALSB without using the DeploymentMBean. So, my second question is:

Hi Helge,
There is indeed an mbean to delete projects, however this mbean and its api is not publicly supported. In other words the api may change or be removed (in favor of another one) in the next release. There are plans to expose a slight variation of this api in the next release. If you cannot wait until then you can use the non-public api with the caveat that it may change, and use it at your own risk. You may need to recompile or rewrite your source code.
The non-public api is:
ALSBConfigMBean.deleteProject(String projectName)
obtaining and using ALSBConfigMBean is similar to the usage of the public ALSBConfigurationMBean. You can obtain the name and the type of this mbean using ALSBConfigMBean.NAME|TYPE.

Help creating project specific ALSB Customization file using WLST

I asked this question in August in another forum and was redirected here, but never followed up. I'm hopeful someone has done this...
Is it possible to create an ALSB CUstomization file for a single project using WLST?
If so, does anyone have an example they would be wiling to share. I've been beating my head against the wall for almost 2 days (well, months now...) , and I'm REALLy starting to get a headache from it now....
We're running WLS 9.2 MP2 and ALSB 2.6 RP1

It looks like there is an ALSBConfigurationMBean with a customize method, but I have not worked with it and it does not sound like that will give you precisely what you want:

Create a ALSB 3.0 domain using WLST

I have created a ALSB domain using config.sh and then I used the following script to create the template

The template jar file is created successfully without any warning/error
When I tried to create the domain using the template with the following comand:

I did exactly the same thing for a normal weblogic domain (not alsb) and it works fine. Do I have to do something different for creating ALSB 3.0 domain?

Well, we've had exactly the same issues.
From our experience even the most trivial tasks involving ALSB/OSB, WLST and Templates fail. Not just a single error, but every time we've tried something different to work around an issue we came across the script blew up with yet another error. After a couple of painful days we came to the conclusion that at least with WL10/ALSB3 templates and scripting are just too premature and too buggy to be of any use.
And at least from the ALSB Release Notes and Metalink it doesn't look like these issues have been addressed with subsequent releases.
We've resorted to creating the domain from scratch instead of using templates of our own domains created with the config wizard.

After reading your mail, I assume that you are using JMS reporting provider bundled with OSB. Please be advised that, the bundled version is not full-pledged reporting provider designed to suit all customer needs/use case. More of a bare bones version.
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/operations/wwimages/reporting_framework.gif--- Will give you better clarity on the architecture. ReportingDataManager is not designed to hold statistics. So OSB will cannot expose any JMX API.
The data/statistics showed in sbconsole are directly picked from Database http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/operations/wwimages/jms_reporting_provider.gif .
So if you wan to purge the details programatically then only option avaialble are
1) JDBC program to delete records from TABLES WLI_QS_REPORT_ATTRIBUTE,WLI_QS_REPORT_DATA (not recommended as reporting provider internal working is not in pubic domain. Said that it would not take much time to understand how report data is stored in the above tables).
2) Write a custom reporting provider which will have capability you are looking. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/javadoc/index.html (easiest way)

ODSI DataSpace Deployment using WLST - "ImportError: No module named dsp"

How to Publish SAML 2.0 Meta Data using WLST

I would want to know who to publish SAML2.0 metadata using WLST commands? Is there a way to export xml as is done from Weblogic Console >MyServer > Configuration > Federation Services > SAML 2.0 General > Publish Meta Data?

For it to work in BO, you would need an identity provider and a service provider, and the ability to pass in one of the parameters mentioned in the Admin Guide (such as REMOTE_USER). The identity provider and service provider would be specified by your organization (we use Shibboleth for example). You may also need to install Apache if your SP does not talk directly to Tomcat (and in which case you can skip the web.xml configuration on p221), though there is other configuration needed for that scenario.
I don't know the answer to your Windows AD question, but it appears there is an AD/SAML service available: Active Directory Federation Services

Configuring Credential mapper using WLST script

Is it possible to use a wlst script to define a new credential mapper.i.e.to [perform the following steps:
Check Use cross-domain protocol.
And then fill in the the values of the attributes which follow like remote host remote user and remote password.
I tried using the wlst recording for the same.However got the following message.
A security change to a role, policy, user, group or credential mapping was made, but this change was not recorded.
I was wondering if we can access the security MBeans using WLST.
Please advise.

DURIM - Okay. I would expect the "Cache Warning" message because your default directories would not be the same as the ones in the settings file I generated.
If you go back to the "7.0" directory and open the "Logs" folder, can you copy the "Audition Log.txt" file and send it as an attachment to [email protected]? We'll take a look in that logfile and see if it gives us more information about why this is failing now.
Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro? If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. I cannot afford to activate the subscription for that product and take the chance of it not working either. I depend on those two programs religiously. Here is the files that you requested. How do you use WLST to get a deployed Apps name?

I am writing an application update script to make updating our environments quicker/easier with the following code from an ant build file:
<wlst debug="true" failOnError="true">

updateApplication('${app.name}',block='true')

</wlst>
However, b/c our application has a version in the manifest file, our application name looks like this:
AppName-BuildNumber-TimeOfBuild
Since the TimeOfBuild is always different from build to build it is impossible to hard code this value. Is there a way to get the application's name using WLST?

cd('AppDeployments')
This shows me all applications deployed on the server, but inorder to go any farther I need the name of a specific app. I'm sure I am just overlooking an mbean somewhere, but I can't seem to find it! Any ideas??

Invoking deployed bpel process using WLST

Hi All,
Am new to WLST. So please tolerate with me if i am asking the obvious
I read through the forums and have successfully deployed a BPEL process using WLST as given below
ant -f ant-sca-deploy.xml -DserverURL=http://localhost:8001 -DsarLocation=C:\oracle\Middleware\PS3\Oracle_SOA1\bin\sca_esd9_jca_bpel1.1_ccgd_trn_ob_rev1.jar -Doverwrite=true -Duser=weblogic -Dpassword=welcome1 -DforceDefault=true
And i have also tried un deploying and it works fine.
But, the problem is, i want to invoke the deployed BPEL process either by accessing the WSDL URL (http://localhost:8001/soa-infra/services/default/esd9_jca_bpel1.1_ccgd_trn_ob/bpelprocess1_client_ep?WSDL) or by any other means using WLST. I have to send an input to this deployed process.
I have googled it and have found ways to invoke a web service using JAVA or VBS. But is it possible to do it through WLST?

Thanks for the prompt reply. We trying to automate the following process:-
1. The user select multiple documents from a folder in a library that contains all released documents.
2. He then locks the documents.
3. Selects the locked documents and copies it to a folder in the personal library.
We are trying to lock and copy the documents as a 1 step process, because its difficult for the users to select all of the documents locked earlier and then copy it the personal library.
We are trying to take the folder name as the user parameter, when the files are locked, so that the process and create the lock the files, create the folder and copy the files in this folder.

Issue while starting AdminSerever using wlst commands

Hi, I am facing issue while trying to start the AdminServer and Managed Server via nodemanager using wlst commands. I have installelled WebLogic 11g on windows 2008 R2. Mentioned below are the steps that I followed:
1) In Nodemanager.properties files I set following parameters to true. I did this, so that nodemanager can start the server in case of crash.
CrashRecoveryEnabled=true
StartScriptEnabled=true
2) started nodemanager and then started AdminServer from the command prompt as follows:

nmStart('AdminServer')
I dont see any errors but it seems the AdminServer do Not start properly as in the cmd window I don't see any 'started successfully' message - the message remains as *"Starting AdminServer..."*
However in the adminServer logs I see that the status is Running (refer logs at the end) and I can also see it as Running in weblogic console.
I really didnt care if its not giving a success message in cmd window but the problem occurs when I start the managedServer. After starting the managed server in about 10 minutes, there is a stuck thread. (I guess it is 10 mins because Stuck Thread MaxTime value is 600).
If I set StartScriptEnabled=false, and start by directly running the startweblogic.cmd then it works fine.
I am struggling with this for last 1 week, appreciate any help.

Upload a jar file in remote Weblogic server using wlst

Is there a way to upload a jar file to a specific location on remote weblogic server using wlst? This is my scenario - I need to upload aspectjweaver.jar to the remote server. This needs to be done before weblogic startup, as weaving takes place during startup . FTP is not an option because those ports are blocked

Hi,
You don't have such option through upload files as what FTP do but you can deploy the application through wlst.
eg:
deploy('Web14','C:/TEMP/Web14.war',targets='Cluster1',stageMode='stage',upload='true',remote='true')
Or you can use Deploy option to deploy app directly.
eg:
java weblogic.Deployer -adminurl http://localhost:7001
-username weblogic -password weblogic
-deploy ./myapp.ear -id myDeployment
This will upload file and place the file there from there you can manipulate the file.
