Export of oracle tables through a batch file.

Hi ,
I would like to export my tables, procedures, grants etc... through a batch file. But i have a constraint, that i want to pass userid/password@database at runtime of the batch file and i want to pass the parameter for the tables. if table names are specified then only those tables are to be exported otherwise, it should export the full schema.
can anyone help me on this please.....
Thanks,
Balachander

Hmm, let's do this simple:
file t.bat
@echo off
echo.
echo Generated command to run:
echo.
echo.
echo exp parfile=c:\myparfile.ctl userid=%*
echo.
the echo statement is to be removed in order to exec the export
test it
C:\>t scott/tiger@base
Generated command to run:
exp parfile=c:\myparfile.ctl userid=scott/tiger@base
C:\>t scott/tiger@base tables=t1,t2,t3
Generated command to run:
exp parfile=c:\myparfile.ctl userid=scott/tiger@base tables=t1,t2,t3Regards,
Yoann.

    That's not an error, you can see errors within log and bad files.

    Try looking at this link, it's long but there's three different solutions discussed in it. If you look at Barbara Boehmer's

    Hi,
    I am using Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard, SSIS 2012. I am trying to copy files from a remote location by calling pscp.exe through a batch file (FileCopy.bat at location M:\bin\) which is referenced in a SSIS Execute Process Task. My batch file content

    echo %date% - %time% - Copy Complete >> M:\Prod\bin\SourceFile_FileLog.txt
    The error I am getting is
    [Execute Process Task] Error: In Executing "M:\bin\FileCopy.bat" "" at "", The process exit code was "1" while the expected was "0".
    Exactly same setup but using Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise and SSIS 2005, this works fine and copies the files successfully.
    Please provide some guidance on this.

    We need to provide an upload functionality to the user, so that he can upload an excel file into the form (from the local system), this is achived.
    Now what we need to do is that we need to capture the path of the document (in the local system) and we need to store the document in a Oracle table.
    Next we need to validate the records that are being loaded and the error records should be written into one more file and that file also we need to store in an Oracle table, this is because, i need to query this error file from the table later and need to send to the user as an e-mail.
    Basically i started off with the below code just for the POC. but iam facing the error. Please help. I did not put this code in my form.

    When you want to process the file, them it depends on the format. "Excel file" is a term that is used for a variety of file formats, mostly simple CSV, binary (true) XLS and XLSX.
    So to get help you have to give us more information. Since the file is already in the db you might get better answers at {forum:id=75}. The forum has a FAQ that has a whole section {message:id=9360007}.

  • Built in Function to Populate an access table from an Oracle Table through VB 6.0

    Dear all,
    Is there any built in function in VB 6.0 to populate an access table directly from an oracle table or SQL Server(Assume Both has the same columns & data type).
    (Just like the DoCmd command which can be used to populate an excel sheet directly from an access table).
    Please help.
    Regards
    Sibby.

    Sibby,
    There is no "built-in" code in VB that I am aware of. However, you could use this code which I wrote for SQL Server. For Oracle, you would have to change to the appropriate table to get all the table names. You can filter by table name to get just your tables like I did below (My_).
    '* Now select all the files and add to access.
    sSQL = "SELECT name, id FROM sysobjects WHERE xtype = 'U' AND SUBSTRING(name, 1, 3) = 'My_' ORDER BY name"
    Set rstTemp = OpenRdSetView(sSQL:=sSQL, adoConnection:=adoConnection)
    On Error GoTo TableExistError
    '* Loop through all my database tables and copy to the Access database.
    With rstTemp
    Do While Not .EOF
    '* Copy this to the Access backup database.
    sTableName = .Fields("Name").Value
    '* Select all records from the SQL Server table and copy to the local Access database.
    sSQL = "SELECT * INTO " & sTableName & " FROM "
    sSQL = sSQL & "[odbc;dsn=" & sDSN & ";UID=" & sUID & ";pwd=" & spwd & ";]." & sTableName
    adoBackupConnection.Execute sSQL, , adExecuteNoRecords
    '* Go to next table.
    .MoveNext
    Loop
    End With

  • Data Export to Oracle table from essbase issue

    Hello,
    i am using a data export calc script to load data from essbase into an oracle table. We have Essbase 11.1.2.1 on windows 2008 64 bit R2 server. I have an ODBC system DSN created for this job.
    However, when i launch this process i get a message in the log "Cannot read SQL driver name for [Backup Exec Catalogs] from [ODBC.INI]"
    i have checked the ODBC.ini file also in C:\Windows directory and that file contains the connection entries...
    Any thoughts as to why i am getting this error in one server whereas the same process on SIT server is working fine.
    thanks...

    please restart the application and try again . Check the application log if any details are there

  • Export Oracle tables and metadata to file for importation into another Db

    Hi all,
    In relation to past posts I'm wondering if a tool exists that allows one to export chosen table(s), along with associated metadata (hopefully automatic incorporation of associated triggers etc) to an export file and then add (import) this data to another Oracle Database?
    Looking at remote application development on specific data on a 'standalone' PC running Oracle XE at home.

    Hi,
    well there is only a version of datapump.
    You can set a 'VERSION' parameter for compatibility..
    Check this out

    It can help you. :)

  • Unable to insert more than once into an Oracle table  through ODI

    Hi,
    The scenario is I need to load a table which stores the contact informations (Phones).
    The source data is such that the different types of phones come from different source tables (Home phone, Work Phone, Fax etc)
    I have developed different interfaces in ODI based on the types of phones.
    The issue is for the first time, if I run any of the interfaces it runs properly & the data gets inserted properly. Then if I run any of the other interfaces, it is unable to insert into the intermediate I$ table (I$_Phones) and is stuck there forever :-)
    Is it an ODI issue or an issue with the database? I have manually copied the query and tried to load it into the intermediate table, but it didn't work.
    Have any of you faced this type of issues in ODI ever? If so, are there any work arounds?
    PS - I have checked whether I am dropping the intermediate flow tables after inserting the records.

    Thanks Ankit,
    I was using IKM Oracle Incremental Update. The volume of data is around 300,000.
    It didn't fail, It just took forever. It got stuck in the step "Insert flow in I$ table". (FYI, I have disabled the Flow control in the IKM).
    Almost the same query ran properly and got the data loaded when its used in the initial interface. I have pasted the query below.
    /* DETECTION_STRATEGY = NOT_EXISTS */
    insert /*+ APPEND */ into PROD_ODI_WORK.I$_PHONES

  • Unload Oracle Table to Unix text file

    Has anyone done this? if so, could you provide a sample of the Code..
    Thanks,
    Tommy

    If using sqlplus:
    set heading off
    set feedback off
    set echo off
    set termout off
    set pagesize 0
    -- linesize as needed
    set linesize 2000
    spool flats.sql
    -- the column separator
    set colsep ~~~
    spool flats.txt
    select * from my_table order by ...;
    Or, in forms you have the text-io package.
    Or, on the server-side the utl_file package.

  • Oracle table export ot Excel

    Dear folks,
    I am looking to export some oracle tables into excel format. I tried using sql developer but since the table has huge rows (>12L), it is taking too much time. I tried to export it in csv format also but not getting enough benefit. We do not have any licenced third party tool to use this facility.
    Could you please let me know the best way to accomplish this task.
    -- Can we do it using expdmp, if yes plz share the steps.
    -- Can a dmp file be converted to xls file, if yes plz share the steps.
    -- Any other way you think is the best.
    I would appreciate if you reply me.
    Regards.

    There are open source modules from cpan.org called Text-CSV-1.20 and Spreadsheet::WriteExcel which look cool for perlmongers, though I haven't had time to dig into them myself. hoopercharles.wordpress.com has some interesting excel examples. If "L" means something like 100,000, I'd question why you even want to do something like this, importing a straight csv file into Excel won't work because it doesn't know about multiple worksheets. Whatever you do, I expect it will take a long time. Anything that has a million rows needs a database. See if whatever tool you use has an arraysize adjustment.
    expdmp has a proprietary format, not suitable.
