Is it possible to export (expdp) oracle table from client machine ?

Is it possible to export (expdp*) oracle table from client machine, without using Remote desk top connection ?*
1) Database-10g server is in America
2) client machine is in India
3) Oracle client-10g software is installed in my machine
4) I am able to connect to the server, could see all tables
5) one table is with 35 million record, I wanted to export this table using data pump, is it possible?
note: without using Remort desk top connection.

Hi
I used the following syntax , but I am getting error
6) connect sys as sysdba
create directory test_dir as '/dbusr1/exp_test'
grant read, write on directory test_dir to user1;
7) expdp user1/pwd1@xyz tables=test_1 directory=test_dir dumpfile=test_file.dmp logfile=test_file.log
8) Errors
In linux prompt I am getting this error
-bash: expdp: command not found
In windows cmd prompt I am getting this error
ORA-39002: invalid operation
ORA-39070: Unable to open the log file.
ORA-29283: invalid file operation
ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_FILE";, line 488
ORA-29283: invalid file operation
9) why ?
-- Does the user ( "user1") should have any system level privilege ? to export his own table?
-- This folder ('/dbusr1/*exp_test'*) has write privilege in os level.
Thanks in advance

  • Export table from client machine

    Hi,
I want to export a table ( using exp or expdp ) from client machine. Dump file should be created to client machine.
Is this possible ? How to do this ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Viraj

    Hi,
Yep as Nilet says you can use the old exp utility - it's not installed by default so you may have to do a full admin client install - or select the tools option from a custom install.
    Cheers,

  • Data Export to Oracle table from essbase issue

    Hello,
i am using a data export calc script to load data from essbase into an oracle table. We have Essbase 11.1.2.1 on windows 2008 64 bit R2 server. I have an ODBC system DSN created for this job.
However, when i launch this process i get a message in the log "Cannot read SQL driver name for [Backup Exec Catalogs] from [ODBC.INI]"
i have checked the ODBC.ini file also in C:\Windows directory and that file contains the connection entries...
Any thoughts as to why i am getting this error in one server whereas the same process on SIT server is working fine.
    thanks...

please restart the application and try again . Check the application log if any details are there

  • Exporting a single table from an acrobat created form

I created a 5 page document InDesign (CS5.5), On one page I created a table that is 4 columns x 25 rows (with the first row being a header), using the table feature. I then exported to pdf and finalized the form in Acrobat 9.2 Pro. After running the Form Field Recognition the table was populated with the appropriate fields. I finalized the form and distributed. When the form is returned to me, I am trying to export JUST the information in this table to a spreadsheet (employee name, title, phone, email, ) and do not seem to be able to do so. Is this possible from a form? It doesn't seem like the pdf recognizes this table as a table any longer. It is a list of attendees, so I want to take this list from each returned form and combine them all into a master list.
With the selection tool I have tried to select all the text > right click > Open Table in Spreadsheet and only the header rows appear. If I choose just the text and not the headers, then nothing appears. If I export the entire document then each cell of the table is its own column in excel, which makes sense since they all have different field names, but this doesn't make the spreadsheet useful. The only thing I have been able to do is select all the cells, copy into notepad, place a tab between each piece of information > save and open that document in excel. I am hoping there is an easier way. Basically all I am trying to do is have that table appear in excel as it does the pdf. I have searched several websites and have not been able to find anything that specifically deals with exporting a single table from a completed form.
Perhaps I need to set the table field names differently? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The "table" idea here is just a design idea, the identity as a table no longer exists in a PDF.  The feature you're trying to use is for tables which are part of the regular PDF, not form fields.
You can export form data. All fields, but then process to exclude the ones you don't want.

How to display a oracle table from a java program.
Hello friends, I have written a Java program, using oracle 10g as backend.
I want to display a oracle table as output. Im not getting how to display oracle table as a output table.. Pls help me
    Thank you

jayanthds, you're not going to get a satisfactory
answer to this here. it's too big a task to justbe
quickly outlined in a forum - the reply "all youneed
to do is to query you table and return it asJTable"
is worthless, for example, since the solution to
any problem can be distilled to such a
soundbite, if need be. doesn't make the solutionany
    simpler
essentially you're asking "how do I write adatabase
application?". all you'll get is snippets of code
that, when fitted together, will eventually helpyou
do this, but you'll spend days and days comingback
saying "right, I've done that, now what?" until
either you or the forum gets frustrated with the
whole affair and the process stops
there are entire books written about this subject,
and countless tutorials and guides on theinternet.
you're better off going down that routehehehe.well, it's true! I used to have a manager that would outline the solution to a problem in a few lines of pseudocode, and then firmly believe that the actual solution would be just as brief and simple. shame his pseudocode included such lofty abstractions as "reformat all data"

  • Is it possible to export the html code from a muse site that I am building?

Is it possible to export the html code from a muse site that I am building?

Mac_Heibu has the right idea. When you export your site to HTML, it creates a folder that contains all of your pages. Here's an example of what the folder will contain. All of your HTML pages, all your scripts, CSS, and it'll also have individual folders WITHIN your main folder for your phone or tablet versions, if applicable. This method allows you to upload your files to an FTP host. However, if you're trying to upload it to an FTP, the BETTER option would be to go File > Upload to FTP Host. If this has helped you, please mark mac_heibu's answer as the Correct Answer, and feel free to mark my reply as a Helpful Answer.

  • IS IT POSSIBLE TO INVOKE AN ORACLE ALERT FROM PL\SQL ?

Is it possible to invoke an Oracle Alert from PL\SQL and, if so, could you
provide me with some references to any relevant notes that you may have on
    Metalink ?

If you want to fire an Alert programatically the best way is to define a Business Event that will fire a notification. The Notification Emailer (if running) will convert this into an email.
Notifications are preferable to Alerts because you can use HTML for formatting.

  • Create Oracle tables from DTD

    Hi,
are there any tools to create oracle tables from dtd's

None to my knowledge. DTD's don't provide any data type information or length information on the data, so at best such a tool could create you tons of VARCHAR2(4000) columns.

I am trying to export all ODI topologies from one machine(A) to other machine(B).Can I export/import whole topology. While doing the same whether created repositories and existing topolgy in machine (B) would be replaced.I don't want to get the existing things in machine(B) to be replaced. Can anyone suggest on this?

you can always select the Import Mode as 'INSERT' if you don't want anything to be overwritten. Yes, you can export/import the topology, logical topology, execution environment by using the options in the Topology tab(top right corner dropdown).
