Export to Excel option missing

CA Forum: Exporting
We distribute Crystal Reports 8.5 dlls with our product.  When a report is displayed (Print Preview), and the export icon is clicked, we get a drop down menu with export options.  Sometimes Excel is an available option and sometimes it's not.  For example, on 2 customer systems, we get Excel as an export option on one and not the other.  On the system where it's NOT available, Microsoft Office Excel seems to be installed.  On the system where it IS available, Excel seems not to be installed.  How is the export format list determined?

In SharePoint 2010, you should Activate the feature 'SharePoint Server Enterprise Site Collection features' to see the 'Export to Spreadsheet' option in Actions menu.
For me the solution was to enable "SharePoint Server Enterprise Site features" from Manage Site Features at the Site level.  As soon as I did this, the option for Export to Spreadsheet appeared.  I checked and my Enterprise Site Collection features
was not Activated for this solution.  I'm using SharePoint 2010.

  • I am not seeing export to Excel option in SharePoint 2013 survey (even in the overview view mode)

    Hi
If anyone could point me in the right direction as to what steps to take to enable the export to excel option in a sharePoint survey list.
all other surveys are showing up that export to excel option.
I am not seeing the view dropdown as well which shows up on right (the only way to create new view is through the URL as of now)
    Constraints
Survey already has several responses now so making a new survey is not an option
(I know that when is any custom view is changed to default view and if Overview is made as the default view again this option goes away, but how to get this export to excel option back?)
    Steps taken till now
Checked in SP designer as to which field is set to default and it shows overview as the default.
Checked whether any web part was closed and it seems there was none else closed web part category would've shown up
Saved the existing survey as template both with the content included and without the content (without the content template has the export to excel option showing up)
    Many thanks ,

    Aby,
    Do following, it will work
Create a simple list and hit export to excel to create owssvr.iqy file
    Open that file in notepad
Collect Survey list' GUID and View GUID from SPD. You need to change the pointer to test list to survey
Change list GUID and view Guid
    File will contain these code

  • Exporting to Excel options

Hi there guys, this is my first post and i wasn't too sure where to put it.
Basically i am trying export a report, CJ74 (if that helps) to an excel spreadsheet. I used to get options when i exported to excel about what file type i wanted it to be exported to, however now it is defaulted to a .htm option.
How do i get all the options back? Is there a way to reset the options?
    Cheers
    Ajay

Whne using the CJ74 form i used a variant to get the data i wanted. Then when i ran the excel export, it would list the details in the a set format.
I sued to get a dialog box with two radio buttons: Excel (in MHTML format) and All Avaiable formats. I selected the first by accident and now it defaults to it.
All i want is the Dialog biox back so i can choose the correct option.
    Any ideas?

  • Export for excel - images missing

Hello, I built a long list with images and text cells in "nummbers". (A museums exhibit list.) Now I have to export it as an excel file, because my colleagues do not use "numbers" but have to add some informations. Unfortunately all images are missing in the exported file! What can I do?
    Thanx, Vera

    Hi VeraF72,
    Welcome to Number '08 discussions.
By performing the following simple test gave me the answer to your question. Here's what I did:
    1. Created a Numbers worksheet putting a picture into a text box.
    2. Put a picture into a cell.
    3. Export as Excel I received the following message: Couldn't export image fills because Excel doesn't support them.
Interestingly the picture within the Text box came across as it should.

  • ALV GRID Export to Excel button Missing

    HI All,
I am facing some problem with ALV GRID. When excuting the report with my user id I am able to see the 'Export to Local file' button in the ALV GRID where as if i am excuting with another user id which is having less authorisations than the button is greyed out.  I checked by giving all authorisation than we are able to see the button.
Could anyone please tell me which authorisation object we have to assign to see the buttons.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Murali.

    Hi,
Before clicking on the Export to Excel button, start the debugging session by placing the command /H in the command prompt.
Now, put the break point at statement AUTHORITY-CHECK. Now it will trigger all the authorization objects relevant to this.
check the sy-subrc value gets failed.
    Regards,

  • BPC for Excel Option Missing from Launch Page

We have a user that does not have the BPC for Excel option on the Launch Page when logging in.  I've removed BPC and reinstalled several times sucessfully, but "BPC For Excel" doesn't show up.  The launch page doesn't recognize the software has already been installed.  Has anyone experienced this?
    Thx.
    Shane Johnson

Shane-  Review all of your IE settings and change all the Security settings to PROMPT instead of No.  There is an activeX control that may be being blocked due to a security setting or firewall or popup blocker setting.  Make sure Windows Firewall is DISABLED.  Make sure Windows Popup Blocker is disabled.
What do you get when you do the "Client Diagnostic" option under the "Client Software Center" link of the BPC launch page?  Did you check to see if Microsoft .Net 1.1 is installed?  Does the PC have a 64 bit processor?  Does the PC have Windows 7 installed? Does the PC have Internet Explorer 8 installed?   BPC is not compatible with 64bit client hardware, not compatible with Windows 7 and not compatible with IE 8...

  • How to include export to excel option in Firefox

when i using IE and right click any page. you can able to see the "Export to Microsoft Excel” To the Right-Click Menu in Internet Explorer.
when I starting using Firefox it does not give me the option to xport to Microsoft Excel unlike internet explorer.
is there any other way we can include this IE option in the Firefox?

    Hello,
You can do one of the following:
    * Select the table in Firefox and then copy it to the clipboard. In Excel do Paste Special and select either 'Unicode text' or 'text' to copy it into Excel.
    * Use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dafizilla-table2clipboard/?src=search Table2Clipboard] extension. This will provide the Right-Click menu option, it will copy the data into the clipboard and you can then paste the selection into Excel.
    I hope that helps.

  • SP 2013 export to Excel

Using the OOTB 'export to excel' option, it isn't exporting all the columns. Why? I'm new to configuring SP. I've been given the task to solve this issue but don't know where to look.

It will only export the columns specified in the view. Are you missing columns that are listed in the view and if so what type are they and are there any patterns?

  • Why was formatting removed from Export to Excel when exporting from PWA 2013?

We have recently moved from using Project Server 2007 to Project Server 2013 and one thing that we have noticed is that when we Export to Excel all the formatting has been removed and all the task grouping and alignment has been flatted.
Why did Microsoft remove this feature from the Project Server 2013?
Is there an easy way for anywhere there is an Export to Excel option on the Ribbon to add the formatting back?
What is the best solution to still retain the indents, bolding, and grouping?

    Jason --
I can confirm your findings with exporting PWA pages in Project Server 2013 to Excel.  As to why Microsoft removed the feature previously found in Project Server 2007, I have no idea, as I do not work for Microsoft.  I do not believe there is any
way to force the Export to Excel feature to work the same in 2013 as it did in 2007.  I think it will be up to the user to format the exported Excel workbook as needed.  Hope this helps.

  • Export to excel with formatting was autowrapping text in a cell

Export to excel with formatting was autowrapping text in a cell without having to check the can grow option.  When the can grow option is checked it does wrap the text however it spans multiple rows, which causes complications when trying to sort.
    It worked in:
    ProductVersion=10.0.0.533
    ProductName=Crystal Enterprise 10 Embedded
    Doesnt work in:
Crystal Reports 10.0 Service Pack 6
After the upgrade the reports did not autowrap, b/c the "can grow" option was not checked.  I believe this was fixed by "ADAPT00305137 Patch ID: 36479914
    Description:
When users export to Excel 97-2000 with the page-based format, text fields are wrapped, even when the "can grow" feature in the
Designer is turned off." .   After we turn the option to grow on it does wrap however it spans across multiple rows.  So I guess my question is there a way for it not to span multiple rows when wrapping text?
Edited by: dforde on Jan 27, 2010 11:12 PM

I could be wrong, but I believe the export to excel option exports the database values, and the export to HTML exports the values seen in the sheets. If the database values are stored as seconds, the Excel will see them as seconds, and the data will have to be formatted properly in Excel.
I haven't toyed around with Excel exports that much, but it might be possible to set up a template or macro in excel that would have the proper formatting, and use it when opening the Disco export.

  • ALV List export to Excel when program is run in background

    Hello,
I am running into an issue with a custom ALV report which contains an export to Excel option on the input screen. However, when I attempt to run the report in background due to high volume of records/expected performance constraints, the job fails to produce a spool when the "export to Excel" option is selected. When I deselect that option, the background job successfully generates a spool, which I can then export to Excel (albeit the formatting will not look the same).
    Is the above an accurate statement or does anyone know of a way where either;
    1) The background job can create and store the Excel output into a cached directory?
    2) The spool generated, when exported to Excel, can match the format of the foreground Excel output?
    Thanks in advancce.

    Oracle JHeadstart Release 11.1.1.2.29
We are using the Export to excel option, but when we have leading zeros it doesn't export it as text so the data is incorrect.
Can any one please tell how doe we configure JHeadstart/ADF to have the leading zeros and export it as text rather than as number.
    Regards

    Ram,
Export to excel is native ADF feature, not related to JHeadstart. Please post your question on the JDeveloper forum.
