Export XML to CSV button (ActionScript2)

Hello All,
We are tracking historical data (via xml) and i would like to
create a button that allows the user to export data to a CSV. I
know this isn't very detailed, but if anyone can point me in the
right direction or has done this and would like to share how they
went about it or anything at all i would really appreciate it.
thanks in advance

Assign a static ID to your report region, then use the following SQL to generate a URL that you can associate with your button.
select
APEX_UTIL.PREPARE_URL
('f?p='||:APP_ID||':'
||:APP_PAGE_ID||':'
||:APP_SESSION
||':FLOW_EXCEL_OUTPUT_R'||region_id||'_en-us:')
from apex_application_page_regions
WHERE application_id = :APP_ID
AND page_id = :APP_PAGE_ID
AND static_id = 'YOUR_STATIC_ID'

  • Submit xml for csv generation

    Hi
    I have a pdf which contains a table, I click a submit button and the data is posted to a url. The response is a csv file from the xml. Is there anyway in which reader 9 will be able to open the resulting csv in a native application without reader being opened in the broswer. This functionality did exist in reader 8, but is now gone in reader 9.
    Is there anyway I can achive this?
    Thanks in advance.

    When the httpservices completes isn't the result bound to an arrayCollection (or array) so you could essesntially accomplish anything you want, sort search etc..
    Is the XML result directly bound to a datagrid or is it bound to arrayCollection first and then bind the arrayCollection to the data grid?
    From the network layer comparison, say you have 100 rows with 10 columns, the file size of XML vs CSV makes a big difference.  Do you think this warrants bringing the file as CSV instead of XML?  You also have to consider the server side doing the extra formating.  You will notice a big difference in an enterprise database if its doing extra work and file I/O.
    Being so used to ODBC-RAW data, I'm finding some apps are slow because of the XML format and I'm looking for an alternative similar to the ODBC-RAW data format.  I do agree that you can do more with XML but if it's just use for say in drop down list, data grid and not so much for formatting, I think CSV will do just fine.  I would however, bring in a single row as XML.
    Thanks for replying back so quickly.

  • Exporting to a CSV format

    We are using Discoverer 10.1.2.45.46c.
    I have a user who received a new pc. When she exports a numeric field to a csv format, the decimal points (.) in the numeric field get converted to a comma (,) and will create new columns if that file is imported to excel format.
    I assume there is a pc settiong to counteract this, but have not found it.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm pretty sure it must be a setting and I would have thought it would be n the Disco server if Plus or Viewer but as it sounds like it's just for this user I would have thought it was a setting on the User's PC (or registry).
    Also, one thing just occurred to me. Is this Excel 2007? I would think that Disco works fine by now with Excel 2007 but haven't seen any docs on it. I'm wondering since it's a new PC if this user is the only one with Excel 2007?
    Finally, have you tried export by:
    1. the Excel button
    2. the file -> export option to CSV
    You could always try an export in HTML format and then read that file in where it should convert.
    I realize these are all kludges for now but all I think of to then check Metalink to see if it's a known feature with your setup.

  • Export XML to local path; Completeness check

    A couple of questions as we're wrapping up development on our form-
    First, I'm attempting to build a button that will save the exported XML to a local path, ie, c:\\windows\desktop
    I found this: xfa.data.saveXML(); which I put in the click event, but how do I tell it to save to a path?  (and while we're at it, specify a file name)
    Alternately I tried using the built in buttons -email, HTTP, but I've been unable to find documentation on how to construct the code.  I know just about anything can be added to the XML source, but I need a pointer on what the best way to handle this is, and how to construct the instructions to save the path.  This is for our administrators to extract the XML and import it into their database.
    Second question, What is the best way to allow a user to do a completeness check?  I like how the email submit button by default checks all the fields set to "user entered required" and would like to configure a button that similarly performs a completeness check and then either alerts the user that there are fields left, or confirms that the form is complete, perhaps with instructions on what to do next.  What is the best way to handle this?  The plan for submittal is the user will save the pdf locally and then upload it manually to a server that requires a login, then the administrators will export the XML file and import it into a database.
    Thanks for your insight..

    Thanks so much for your help so far, Paul
    Everything works great, except when trying to use the Export button from Reader.  (It works as expected in Pro)
    The file has been reader extended, so save works, but our developers need the ability to click that Export button from Reader and get an XML file.  Any ideas if this is possible or how the code can be tweaked so it will work for Reader?
    Thanks!

  • How to change the default structure when exporting data in CSV format?

    Hello,
    can some one tell us how to change the default structure in CRM when exporting lists in CSV format (with Option "Always use unformatted list format (CSV) for download" ? Because we want to add a new structure for our own -is it possible ?
    If it is possible where can we find these structure ? In the blueprint customizing ?
    Thank you very much,

    There is a workaround to move from 1.5 version to the older 1.4 version. But this could be specific to the browser setting the JRE version.
    Excerpts from sun docs:
    However, a user can still run older versions. To do so, launch the Java Plug-in Control Panel for the older version, then (re)select the browser in the Browser tab.
    Example:
    Assume you are running on Microsoft Windows with Microsoft Internet Explorer, have first installed version 1.4.2, then version 5.0, and you want to run 1.4.2.
    Go to the j2re1.4.2\bin directory where JRE 1.4.2 was installed. On a Windows default installation, this would be here: C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2\bin
    Double-click the jpicpl32.exe file located there. It will launch the control panel for 1.4.2.
    Select the Browser tab. Microsoft Internet Explorer might still appear to be set (checked). However, when 5.0 was installed, the registration of the 1.4.2 JRE with Internet Explorer was overwritten by the 5.0 JRE.
    If Microsoft Internet Explorer is shown as checked, uncheck it and click Apply. You will see a confirmation dialog stating that browser settings have changed.
    Check Microsoft Internet Explorer and click Apply. You should see a confirmation dialog.
    Restart the browser. It should now use the 1.4.2 JRE for conventional APPLET tags.
    Details are here
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/deployment/deployment-guide/jcp.html
    My system (Windows XP) has the version 1.5_09 set as the default. However i just installed JRE 1.5_06 and would like to revert back to _06 as the default JRE..
    Will update if i find more information

    Hi All,
    I am using Crystal Reports. Following are details about it:
    CR Developer
    Product 8.5.0.217
    *_Problem that I am facing:__*_
    I can create report in .rpt format, it is working fine here. But while trying to export this report in CSV format, it gives report that doesn't contain any information.
    Is it because I am missing something or it is a known issue?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Anand

    Hi,
    I too am facing the same problem.
    The report was made in 8.5. I have exported the report & opened it in Crystal report 12.
    I can export to PDF, RTF, DOC & Tab separated Test.
    However when I export this report in .csv (legacy mode) I just get the header & when I export it in .csv (Standard) I get a blanck .csv file.
    I have  checked 'Isolate Report/Page sections' and 'Isolate Group sections'. Still no data in the report.
    refreshed it too.
    I contains sub reports, but not in the page header & footer (I think) & it does not seem to have cross tabs & OLAP grids.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Print, Export and Page Navigation Buttons in the Report

    When I view a report through CR4E, the generated report has 3 buttons namely Print, Export and Page Navigation buttons. But when I click on either of the buttons I get a 'null pointer exception'. This is a critical error as I am unable to navigate past the first page. Do I have to add code to these buttons? If not, why am I getting an error? Kindly solve my problem as soon as possible.

    <p>Looking at your code it appears that you are storing the ReportSource in session prior to passing in the ResultSet. This will create a problem when a postback is made on  the viewer page (which all of the viewer actions do). If you look at the sample code which is generated when you use the JSP Page Wizard you will notice that the ResultSet is passed to the ReportClientDocument object prior to it being stored in session. Then, when the page is called again this object is retrieved and the ReportSource is used by the viewer. You can quickly run the test using one of our sample reports to see what I am talking about. • XML tags in an "export : XML" Report Template

    Hi All,
    I'm using the export XML report template to produce XML from a query. One of the column contains XML tags and the template is translating eg: if the column is "Groups" then I get:
    <Groups>& lt ;Group& gt ;Sales & lt ;/Group & gt ; & lt ;Group& gt ;IT& lt ;/Group& gt ;</Groups>(ignoring all the spaces - OTN is translating the & gt 's :)
    instead of:
    <Groups><Group>Sales<Group><Group>IT</Group></Groups>Is there an easy way to stop this ?
    Thanks,

  • OBIEE 11g - issue when export to a csv file

    Hello,
    I have an issue when I try to export to a csv file a report having numeric feild, when I export and open the file in notepad the trailing zeros to the right of decimal points do not show up. When export to another formats (such as excel, pdf) the trailing zeros appears correctly. e..g, 100.00 appears as 100, 100.50 appears as 100.5.
    Do you know what can be done in order to have trailing zeros to the right of decimal points to appear in a csv?
    Thanks

    You specify like this:
    Recordset: Header, *
    Header.fieldSeparator : u2018Field Separatoru2019
    -->For FCC on Receiver side you donu2019t have to mention the field names.
    -->The u2018endSeparatoru2019 parameter needs to given for substructure only

  • How to recover IN & OUT after exporting XML file from iMovie9 to FinalCut ?

    Here is my WorkFlow :
    - Log & Capture my HDV footage in FCP - ProRes422.
    - Move the captured ProRes 422 clips to a new EVENT in iMovie.
    - Roughcut my edits in iMovie with no effects, no audio goof offs, ... just straight cuts.
    - Share ( export ) XML FCP file >> import XML file to FCP >> create Archive of FCP project with MediaManager to gather used clips in a new project.
    Everything is great, BUT :
    clips that MediaManager gathers in the browser window do not have the In & Out points, although clips on the timeline representing frame accurate cuts from iMovie.
    Is there any way to do this and have the in & out points in browser clips matching to the cuts on the timeline ?

    Do what you want, I'm not trying to change your workflow, but you can do all you say you do in FCP. If you change the browser to icon view, you can place the icons in a storyboard sequence right in the browser, and the icons are scrubable as well. In FCP, you can export EDLs, which you can't do in iMovie. You can also set the timeline window to dislplay the clips in Filmstrip view, which gives you the same visual representation that you have in iMovie. If you zoom all the way into your timeline, you can see every single frames as a thumbnail.
    You already have the pro application. You're really only slowing yourself down by rough cutting in iMovie. But do as you will. In the end, it's really only about telling a story. I just prefer to have the least amount of obstacles while doing so.

  • How to export report IN CSV format through JAVA.

    how to export report in csv format.when try to export in csv format.its exporting into csv but report not containing column heading , report heading and it showing all the data in a single line.we have integrated the reports with java.

    Use a Java API which can create PDF files based on some collection of plain vanilla Java objects (List, String, Number, etc).
    Google can find them all. Just feed it with something like "Java PDF API" or so. A commonly used one is iText.
    That said, when talking about this in JSP context, ensure that you do NOT write raw Java code in JSP files using scriptlets. Raw Java code belongs in Java classes. In such case you need a Servlet. In JSP just use taglibs and EL to interact with backend Java code and data. Scriptlets are discouraged since over a decade.

  • How do I expand a ActiveDirectorySubnetCollection so I can view all elements and export to a CSV file?

    Hello,
    In the following, I list SiteName, Location, Subnets, and Severs, however I don't see all the servers or the subnets, presumably because Subnets are an ActiveDirectorySubnetColletion and Servers are a ReadOnlyDirectoryServerCollection.  So I want to
    expand this property so I can see all the elements of the collection, or array.  I've tried the Select-Object -ExpandProperty, but I get an error due to -ExpandProperty looking for a string.
    Any suggestions on how to expand both the Subnet and Server collections so I can see all elements and I can export to a CSV file?
    [cmdletbinding()]
    param()
    $MyArray = @()
    $Sites =[System.DirectoryServices.ActiveDirectory.Forest]::GetCurrentForest().Sites
    foreach ($Site in $Sites) {
    $obj = New-Object -Type PSObject -Property (
    "SiteName" = $Site.Name;
    "SiteLocation" = $Site.Location;
    "SubNets" = $Site.Subnets;
    "Servers" = $Site.Servers
    $Obj | Sort $Site.Name | FL
    $MyArray += $obj
    $MyArray | export-csv -path $env:HOMEPATH\SitesSubs.csv -NoTypeInformation
