Exporting file in Flash CS5.5

Hi, I created an animation segment with Flash Professional CS5.5. and am trying to export it in Quick Time format but everytime I try, one or more of the images are lost. Also, some images leave trace behind. I fiddled around with the settings by changing to "animation" and "H.264". I also set the compressor quality to "best" and the motion key frames to ALL. But I still get the same problem. Each time I export different images get lost or leave trace behind. I'd really appreciate if someone could help me with this. Thank you.

The movie exporter in Flash from version CS3 to CS6 has never been that good.  Currently in Flash CC, the exporter is the best it has been, but you may not have access to CC.  There are a couple of work arounds you can try, but they require other programs.  If you have After Effects, you can combine a Flash SWF along with an audio file to create a Quicktime.  You can also do the same with Premiere (up to version CS6).  If you have Quicktime Pro you can convert an image sequence exported from Flash into a quicktime movie.  You will also have to add your audio seperately.  A free program SWIVEL, can covert your SWF to quicktime, but it can be a little finicky.  Here's a link to that: http://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/creator-resources/flash-resources/swivel
Hope that helps!

    is there anyway to open flash cc 2014 file in flash cs5 and work on the files

    Flash CS5.5 lets you open any newer file. But you can save down to older versions (back to CS5) with CS6 if you have access to it. Flash CC does not give you the option to save down.

  • Prroblems Exporting .MOV files from Flash CS5

    I am having trouble exporting my animations created in Flash CS5 (or Macromedia flash 5, or CS3) to .MOV files. I'm having these issues on different  platforms  (mac and pc) and different operating systems (XP and win 7) - I only get error messages and out of memory errors, even on the fastest computer I have with 4gig of RAM working on a 2mg Flash file.
    I just want to convert my Flash files to a format that can play on Youtube and standard DVD players. Also I've tried many converters (flash to video) - not all free (Moyea, Roxio, iWisoft, Winfx Video Converter, Amor, E.M. Magic, etc, etc) - nothing works. The main problems are either the sound is not synched, the playback is choppy, and the quality is awful.
    I think my only hope of getting a good video is starting with a good .MOV file exported from Flash. I know the program is supposed to do this.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flash/cs/using/WSBC0687D4-42A6-445d-B5FF-8032C7D3A8FF.html#WS6 A15AAE2-C176-4161-BAB6-FB082F63B65Ba

    Exporting the video at a slower FPS with all the settings maxed and then speeding it up later may not be the most practical and adding a few extra steps can increase the chances of error...I wasn't willing to maniuplate the frame rate, so I tried with the highest video settings and my file ended up being 10GB in size for a video with 1689 frames, and there were STILL artifacts.
    There's also the option of exporting your sequence as individual frames and recombinging them using Quicktime Pro (I found that on another forum), and Quicktime Pro is a pretty cheap program ($20?). Just remember to hide your motion guides and activate your masks (right click on your masks in the timeline and select Show Masks), or they'll show up in your frames and you'll have to start again. Also, when inputting your individual frames, remember to select the correct frame speed to it matches the one that you're working with. From there, you have a complete video clip that you can input into any editing suite (heck, Windows Movie Maker is adequate if you're just putting it on YouTube).
    Either way, Flash Professional doesn't appear to be capable of generating a .MOV that works outside of the box on its own, at least not without the addition of a 3rd party plugin. Given the proliferation of animation projects on TV that are animated using Flash, I was thinking that Flash SHOULD have a way to render a .MOV file properly (ie: without dropping frames and leaving behind artifacts because it's taking too long to read the frame), but then, it's best to use the right tools for the job. You can use most of the tools in Creative Suite/Cloud to generate the same layered image, but every single application has a specific purpose:
    Photoshop can handle text layouts, vector imagery, and animation, but it's best at manipulation of raster images.
    Illustrator can handle text layouts and some manipulation of raster images, but it's best at creating and editing vector images.
    InDesign can do some manipulation of raster images (or at least it imports them) and creating/drawing of vector images, but it's best at text layouts for multi-page documents and arranging images.
    Flash allows you to layout text, draw image vectors, and manipulate rasters, but its best for animation and interactive content (I draw my characters in Illustrator first then import then in Flash...Flash drawing tools just drive me buggy).
    Your video editing suite (and probably Premiere...haven't used Premiere in a long time, so I can't say for sure) can handle some text inputs, does some animation, but it's best for taking existing video and audio clips (from whatever sources) and editing them non-linearly.
    I'll need someone in the biz to confirm this, but I do suspect that for studio based Flash animation projects that end up on TV (eg: Teen Titans Go!, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic), they wouldn't be generating the show entirely using Flash (laying down soundtrack and dialogue as well) and then exporting to .MOV. It's more likely that they'd be exporting individual clips without audio (either using the slow frame rate method or by exporting individual frames and importing to Quicktime) and using a non-linear video editor to edit the clips and lay down audio tracks accordingly.

  • Export Project To Flash CS5 From Captivate 4

    Can I export to Flash CS5 from Captivate 4?  The File > Export > Project To menu only provides options for Flash CS3 and Flash CS4 and they are greyed out.  I have only CS5 Master collection installed.

    Hello there,
    Unfortunatley, you cannot export to Flash CS5 from Adobe Captivate 4. You would need to upgrade/purchase Adobe Captivate 5 to do this.
    The other option would be to export to see if you can still download trial copy of Adobe Flash CS4 Professional, export your Captivate file and then open it in Flash CS5 Pro.
    Best regards,
    Mark

  • How can I import SVG file to Flash CS5.5

    I want to import a .SVG file that I made in Inkscape to Flash CS5.5 how do I do this? Do I need to install some type of plugin/extension? Is there some way around it?

    Actually no, that's incorrect. Flash CS5.5 can NOT import PS/EPS. I've seen a few threads mentioning this, but it's not the case (maybe older versions supported that?).
    The list of supported file formats can be found here;
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/kb/supported-file-formats-flash-professional.html
    To import PS/EPS, you'd need to convert it first through another tool, such as Illustrator.

  • Importing a flash Catalyst .swf file in Flash CS5 ?

    Hi,
        I found Flash Catalyst by luck while browsing the Adobe website and downloading the Flash CS5 trial...
    One simple question....
    Can I import a .swf file created in Flash Catalyst into a Flash CS5 .fla as an element ?
    I created a scrolling text attached to a custom made scrolling bar in Flash Catalyst, and I would now like to use it in my Flash CS5 project...
    Well, I will be waiting for your responses...
    Thanks in advance for your help !
    Gilbert Gour

    Unfortunately you can't import an SWF from Flash Catalyst into Flash CS5.  Flash Catalyst uses the Flex Framework for building the its SWF.  Flash CS5 does not use the Flex Framework and doesn't know what to do with that kind of file.  You can load an SWF from Flash CS5 into your Flash Catalyst project, though.

  • How to debug swc files in Flash CS5

    Hi, to coin a familiar phrase "I'm new to Flash developement". My question is very simple. How do I debug .swc files (that I've created in Flash Builder 4) in Flash Professional CS5. I've incorporated the .swc file in the Publish Settings->Flash tab. But when I attempt to consume the objects in the .swc file I get an error saying it "Cannot display source code at this location."
    Can someone tell me the best pratice for debugging .swc files. Do I debug them in Flash Builder or Adbobe Professional Flash CS5?

    I think I found the solution to my problem..... but dont know how to implement it correctly.

    Heres my code, it compiles without errors, but when I publish it as .exe I get the 'Error 1037: Package cannot be nested':
    package
              import flash.display.StageScaleMode
              import flash.media.Camera;
              import flash.media.Video;
              public class ScaleMode

  • Open PDF file in Flash CS5.0

    Is there any way to open a PDF file in flash application using Action Script 3.0 ?

    By open do you mean import or simply display?
    You can use the StageWebView class to display a PDF if the user has a PDF viewer installed. It essentially punts the work off to the system browser to display it. You just tell the StageWebView instance to load the PDF directly. I do that on iPads and iPhones and it works great. Very smooth response and all the PDF controls intact.
    Now if the user does not have a PDF viewer installed, that won't work.

  • Exporting InDesign files to Flash, CS5.5

    I exported an InDesign file as a Flash file but in flash it shows up as low res when I preview it or when others preview it. What am I doing wrong? I have never used Flash before. I am working with CS5.5
    I exported the file as a SWF file and when a colleague viewed it, she said it was quite pixelated.
    What should I do? Is there a better method for someone very very new to Flash?

    you can set the export resolution and package quality in Export SWF window´s Advanced Tab.
    Higher resolution will not help if the original quality of your placed images is low.
    And don´t set the resolution too high, if you have lot´s of images you may end up having a bloated SWF.

  • Exporting file for Flash Catalyst use?

    Hey everyone.  I've made a video in Flash Pro, and I want to be able to play it in Flash Catalyst.  I'm using 5.5 of both versions, btw.  I export the Flash Pro video to a .mov file and then use Media Encoder to make that a .flv file.  I bring that file into FC and publish to web.  However, when I put those 'deploy to web' files on my website, the video doesn't play.  Everything else works except for the video.  So I put a generic, short .flv file that I downloaded from the internet into my FC file.  I published it to my website again, and everything worked fine.  The video played.  So obviously the problem with my video must be in the encoding process.
    How should I do this?  I read one article online that said when I export a .mov file for FC, I should make sure that I don't have 'Fast - Compressed Header' selected in the Streaming options.  Well, I checked and I don't.  It's just under regular 'Fast'.  So what am I doing wrong here?  I've even tried converting my .mov file to a f4v file, and that doesn't work.  Help here would be so greatly appreciated.

    Ah.  I think they just tested the .html file.  Though, they were trying nearly everything yesterday, so they might have tried the swf file, too.  I'll ask him this afternoon.  There's a webpage included in both deploy-to-web and run-local folders.  Both are entitled main.html.  I'm looking at both codes in Dreamweaver to see what would be different, how the code is calling to the flv video, and I can't see any change!  I switch from one code view to the other, and nothing is different.  The only difference is that in the video size area, the html file from the run-local folder is bigger.  So obviously something more was put into the run-local html file, but what I don't know.  I can't figure that out from the code.  Here's the code from the run-local file, though it looks the same in the deploy-to-web html file, too.

  • Help importing a .swf file from Flash CS5.5 to After Effects CS5.5

    I am working on animating a person in flash.  I have a main timeline and then a timeline inside of a symbol so I can move
    the characters facial features (eyebrows and mouth etc) apart from moving his entire body.
    I want to have multiple scenes so I am importing all of the .swfs into After Effects and putting them together.
    However, when I import the .swf into After Effects, it only plays what occurs in the main timeline
    and not the timeline inside of the symbol, so it is just the character moving without the facial movements.
    Is there a way to fix this or a better program to import the .swfs into and make the video?
    Thanks in advance.

    Here's the note from After Effects Help aboutt he limitations to SWF import:
    SWF (continuously rasterized) Note:  SWF files are imported with an alpha channel. Audio is not retained. Interactive content and scripted animation are not retained. Animation defined by keyframes in the main, top-level movie is retained.
    The limitation that you noticed---that only animation in the top-level timeline is retained---is not one that can be worked around without changing how your animation is set up in Flash.

  • Working with linked video files in Flash CS5

    Hi,
    I'm working on a project that involves making decisions that affect how a short film plays out.
    The basic idea is link some video files to the flash file (don't embed because it loses a lot of quality) and have buttons appear at the end of each clip that will link to another place on the timeline where another video clip will play. Pretty simple.
    However one problem I have encountered is the only way I can make the buttons appear after the video is finished, is by dragging out the single frame of video on the timeline to whatever length in seconds it is multiplied by the number of frames per second.
    This is very tedious and not very effective despite solving the problem.
    Is there some way to maintain each linked clip in a single frame and only move to the next frame (which contains the relative buttons) after the video is finished?
    Of course if there is an even more effective way to do this please let me know as well.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

    What you really want have is this:
    Instead of using the timeline you should use Code to organize your application.
    So you will have only one frame and only one scene and only one flvComponent.
    import fl.video.FLVPlayback;
    import fl.video.VideoEvent;
    //Assuming you have 9 Videosegments to choose from
    var videoNr:uint = 9;
    // the buttons to navigate to the segments
    for (var i:uint=0; i<videoNr;i++){
       var currentButton:String = "btn_"+i;
      this[currentButton].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playSegement);
    // the array to store the names of the videosegments
    var videoArray:Array = new Array();
    for (var i:uint=0; i<videoNr;i++){
      var currentVideo:String = "video_"+i+".flv";
      videoArray.push(currentVideo);
    //hide the buttons whenever the video plays and vice versa
    flvPlayer.addEventListener(VideoEvent.PLAYING_STATE_ENTERED, hideButtons);
    flvPlayer.addEventListener(VideoEvent.STOPPED_STATE_ENTERED, showButtons);
    flvPlayer.fullScreenTakeOver = false;
    function hideButtons(e:VideoEvent):void{
    for (var i:uint=0; i<videoNr;i++){
       var currentButton:String = "btn_"+i;
      this.getChildByName(currentButton).visible = false;
    function showButtons(e:VideoEvent):void{
    for (var i:uint=0; i<videoNr;i++){
       var currentButton:String = "btn_"+i;
      this.getChildByName(currentButton).visible = false;
    // or make a switch clause where you define which buttons are visible after which segment
    //switch(i){
    //only 1 and 2 are visible after Segmenet 0 has played
    //case 0: this.getChildByName("btn_1").visible = true;this.getChildByName("btn_2").visible = true;break;
    //only 3 and 4 are visible after Segment 1 has played
    //case 1:  this.getChildByName("btn_3").visible = true;this.getChildByName("btn_4").visible = true;break;
    //function to choose from the videos
    function playSegment(e:MouseEvent):void{
      var whichButton:String = e.currentTarget.name.substr(4,1);
      //gives the IndexNr of the Video that should play
      flvPlayer.source = videoArray[uint(whichButton)];
      flvPlayer.autoplay = true;
    // you want the actual video to stop on the last frame
       flvPlayer.autorewind = false;

    [autorun]
    open=projectorFile.exe
    icon=someGraphic.ico
    projectorFile.exe is the name of the projector file you published
    someGraphic.ico is an icon file you need to create (google .ico files)
    put the projectorFile.exe, Autorun.inf, someGraphic.ico on a disc
    be sure to include a projector file for BOTH windows (.exe) and mac (.app)

  • Why can't I hide the menu in Flash CS5 projector files?

    I'm making some executable / projector files in Flash CS5. Using CS4 I was able to stop the menu appearing by using flash.system.fscommand("showmenu", "false");
    It doesn't work in CS5.  Is it a bug? Or a feature?  It's incredibly annoying - how do I get rid of the menu without resorting to an external projector program or without having to use AIR?

    You can't get rid of the RH menus because [I believe] Adobe deemed it necessary to have the Flash version as well as security options and global settings in there for users at all times. At best you can minimize the listings on the right-click menu:
    var rightClickMenu:ContextMenu = new ContextMenu();
    rightClickMenu.hideBuiltInItems();
    _root.menu = rightClickMenu;
    You can also get rid of the top menu using Resource Hacker, but the right-click menu stays, even if you delete the resource from the .exe file.

  • Can't save Flash CS5 files

    Hi, I can't save my Flash CS5 files. I click file, save as, then appears a gray window with a menu drop down but I can't find any folder to save the file...I've tried to upload a screen shot but when I try to upload the picture the very same gray window appears and I can't do anything...Anyone could give me a hand? When I use other Adobe programs as After effects and Premiere everything works perfectly...!

    Hi Greg,
    Thanks for emailing me your FLA file so we could investigate.  It looks like one of your assets is corrupted.  This file crashes even in Flash CS4 when I drag sparks.jpg to the stage.
    Flash CS5 crashes more quickly because it tries to validate this asset on save but can't because that asset is corrupted.  If you remove sparks.jpg from the library, you can save the file in Flash CS5.
    Thanks,
    Nivesh
