Exporting Metadata from bridge to excel or other like program.

Is there a way to export just the metadata, using Bridge, associated with an image file into excel, access, or some other like program?
I would like to perform some kind of batch processing, so as to make the process quick. But I would be open to any other work around scenario.
I am working with Windows XP Professional and Adobe CS2.
Any help would be appreciated!

I've followed the instructions and I am having problems getting data to the folder I set up on my desktop.
I have tried selecting several images and then just one image to export the slected metadata to said folder. By right clicking the images and chosing the script you sent me and then followed your instructions for when your CSV Data Collector Window pops up.
For the Please Slect Folder option i browsed to the folder where I want the info to go to.
~/Desktop/Kens Files/KensTest
For the Please Enter CSV Filename, I copied the title of the image name "2005-agropyron002.jpg"
Then I chose the type of data that I want to import such as:
FileName
DocWidth
DocHigth...
I then go to that folder and there is no info. there.
Please, if you can, give me more detailed instruction.
Thanks,
Bill

  • Exporting metadata from Lightroom to Excel

    For all those out there wanting to export metadata from Lightroom to CSV, I have found a Fantastic Company www.pkzsoftware.com that sell their product for approx AUS $10.00 "Lightroom Metadata Explorer" it works perfectly and their customer service is just the best you will find anywhere, being a computer novice I had a few problems and they went out of their way to assist me to get exactly the data I needed. Can't speak highly enough of the Company.

    John,
    Thanks for your reply and the references to the tools. I ran the sqlLite Database Browser to look at the LR database, and to be honest it was pretty much gibberish to me. There's over 50 tables in the database and some quick browsing through them revealed data that would seem to require a knowledge of the database structure to extract. I'm a photographer with very good knowledge of how to use software tools to do my job, but I'm not a programmer and really don't have the time or the desire to become one.
    My point is any good database software should have the capability to generate at least a flat file of the information contained within. In LR's case, I (and it seems others based on feature requests) would like to see a capability of exporting a CSV or tab-delimited file of the information contained in the side panels (i.e., keywords, the metadata browser, and the metadata panel for starters) on an image-by-image basis. I could then use the output in any of several other tools to do what I need.
    Thanks again for your helpful links. Maybe someone can come up with a "CSV generator" using one of those tools that could be shared among LR users.

  • Problems exporting metadata (using bridge).

    Hello.
    I'm trying to export metadata from OWB to Discoverer. I've a multidimensional model and now I want to explore it using Discoverer.
    When I export metadata, OWB creates a file like:
    BEGIN End User Layer Export
    EUL_Version 3.1.92.0.7
    EUL_Unique_Id 20030315095138
    EUL_Characterset_WE8MSWIN1252
    Define Object
    Type BUSINESS AREA
    Name AREA CASO 1
    mName AREA CASO 1
    mDescription Área de negocios del caso de estudio del almacén de comestibles.
    mId
    EndDefine Object
    Define Object
    This file can't read by Discoverer because not is a XML file. How can I export the .eex using XMI especification?
    Thanks.

    Juan Antonio,
    What version of Warehouse Builder are you using?
    It seems you have selected the Discoverer 3 bridge which may not generate an XML file (I am not sure about the Discoverer 3 format).
    Anyway, you have to define a business area in OWB (or collection if you use OWB904) that contains the object definitions you want to export when you run the bridge.

    3) This opens up the"InstantReport" screen. Choose "MicrosoftExcel" in the Instant Report To Combo.
    4)Select the grid columns that you want and add them using the buttons present there.

  • Export data from forms to excel

    HI
    In my application im trying to export data from forms to excel.Everything works fine.First of all im using get_file_name for selecttion of file and passing it to ole2 package as follows
    FILENAME := GET_FILE_NAME(File_Filter=> 'XLS Files (*.xls)|*.xls|',dialog_type=>SAVE_FILE);
         ARGS:=OLE2.CREATE_ARGLIST;
         oLE2.ADD_ARG(ARGS,Filename);
         OLE2.INVOKE(WORKSHEET,'SAVEAS',ARGS);
    The problem is if i select an existing file the get_file_name itself raises one message ".....file already exists Replace an existing file?"
    Similarly the excel also also raises the same message "".....file already exists Replace an existing file?".I want to suppress atleast one of them? Could anyone help for this problem?
    appreciate ur help
    THANKS

    Looks like...
    ole2.set_property( ex_app, 'DisplayAlerts', false );
    where "ex_app" variable Excel Application -
         ex_app:=     ole2.create_obj('Excel.Application');
    and more Question:
    When i close excel app - in process viewer i see "excel.exe"
    ole2.release_obj don't work :(

  • Is it possible to copy or export metadata from Folio Producer?

    Hi,
    Is it possible to copy or export metadata from one issue in Folio Producer and import/apply it to a different issue in Folio Producer? Or create a master metadata template that every issue build could use? It would save a lot of time and typing not having to re-enter the same information every month when releasing the next issue for departments, bylines, etc.
    Thanks!

    Bob,
    Do you know when exporting metadata from Folio Producer will be available, and will it export directly to another rendition, or would it export to a sidecar.xml file?
    The workflow my team prefers is to build our 1024x768 folio first, add metadata via Properties in the Folio Builder as we add articles, share the folio with editors and advertising sales, make edits and updates, then when all content is approved, create the 2048x1536 rendition folio using multiple importing of articles.
    Having the ability to export from an existing folio in Folio Producer would save tons of tedious copying/pasting to get a sidecar.xml.
    Hopefully when this becomes available you'll have a big announcement. (Please?)
    Thanks in advance.

    Symptom
    Unable to Export images from a Web Intelligence report to Microsoft Excel.
    A Web Intelligence report is created using images to denote alerts. The report works OK in Web Intelligence but when exported to Microsoft Excel, the images do not display.
      Environment
    Business Objects Enterprise XI Release 2
    Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1
      Reproducing the Issue
    Create a simple Web Intelligence document.
    Add a blank cell and within that cell link it to an image. (Either set as background for the cell or Image URL.)
    Save and export to Excel. The image will not be displayed.
    Cause
    Web Intelligence export engine does not support the export of images to excel.
    Resolution
    In BI4.0, Web Intelligence export engine does support the export of images to excel.
    Workaround 1 :
    Most image formats are supported in PDF export. Users may be able to use that as an alternative.
    Workaround 2 :
    If images are required in the final Excel document, the user would need to recreate those image links manually in Excel.

  • Upload pictures directly from Bridge to Flickr or other photo sharing site.

    Upload pictures directly from Bridge to Flickr or other photo sharing site.
    But flickr is the most important. Many people are searching for a plugin or patch or something to be able to this.
    Because of that many people are using Picasa because you can download a plugin for it and then with this plugin you can upload photos to flickr directly from picasa. Please make it also possible in Adobe Bridge.
    I am using Adobe Bridge CS3 with latest updates.
    Thank you.

    You could do it in CS3 but the option does not seem to apprea in CS4.  Very strange.  For CS3 go to Tools>Photoshop Services>Online Portfolios and Galleries>Share photos with flickr.

  • Exporting Metadata In Bridge CS4

    Bridge CS3 used to have a decent metadata export script, CS4 seems not to have this feature. How do I export the metadata from multiple image files in CS4 as a file type readable by EXCEL?

       An excellent little script Paul and I thank you for it.
       May I make several suggestions.  This comes from a user and not a programmer so I am looking at it from the possibility of future usage.  I am not trying to be critical, as I do love this little gem, only seeing how I would use it.
    Have it so that the directory structure does not export.  A user will likely be saving the CSV file in the same directory so showing the directory is moot.  Or make it optional.
    Have it so that the last used set of selected fields (row headings) become the default.  It saves the user from having to select the same ones time after time.
    Have the selected fields show up as the row headings in the file.
       I have needed something like this.  I have a large collection of digital archives (10,000+ images) which is metadata centric and which I am using for a web site.  Since Adobe does not have a way to export my carefully created and crafted metadata enmasse I can easily see where this script can aid in my design.
       In the past I have been forced to copy my metadata information from Bridge into my design.  This was tedious after the 800th or so crafted HTML file.  Using this script I can now export it to a spreadsheet for usage.
       Thank you!

  • Issue to export data from sql to excel

    I have MS SQL 2008 Developer version and visual studio 2008. I'm using SSIS Import and Export Wizard on the VS2008 to create a simple package to export data from a table using a sql query to excel file (.xlsx), but I got the following
    error messages:
    [Destination - Query [37]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E21.
    [Destination - Query [37]] Error: Cannot create an OLE DB accessor. Verify that the column metadata is valid.
    [SSIS.Pipeline] Error: component "Destination - Query" (37) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202025.
    The SQL query is
    SELECT [BusinessEntityID]
          ,[PersonType]
          ,[NameStyle]
          ,[Title]
          ,[FirstName]
          ,[MiddleName]
          ,[LastName]
      FROM [AdventureWorks2008].[Person].[Person]
    Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
    A Fan of SSIS, SSRS and SSAS

    Or another way is to save the package created by Export Import wizard, open it in BIDS and add a Derived column task before the Excel destination to do explicit casting of the columns to your required unicode datatypes.

  • Exporting metadata from folder

    This isn't specifically a Bridge question, but I figure if anybody knows how to do this, it'll be you folks...
    I'd like to create an export of the files in a folder with some of the metadata.  Specifically, I want the filename, image width, and image height.
    With that I can SORT by width or height and find out which images are heavily cropped.
    Yes, Bridge HAS a sort by dimension, but it works poorly/bizarrely/inconsistently/whatever..
    I can display images in a list, but I haven't figured out how to extract all the text from the list.  If I could do that and paste it into a text editor that would work.
    BUT, is there a tool that will let me take all the image files - .dng, .psd, .jpg, .tif, etc, in a folder and create a file of selected iptc and/or exif data?  I've tried FolderViewer (unusable) and Exif Pilot (can't find anything that'll display image width and height)...
    So, is there a way for me to copy all the text from Bridge list view or a tool to view the data for all files in a folder?

    You could try this...

  • To export query from Access to Excel in Read/Write mode in VBA

    Below is the code which exports the query named 'LatestSNR' from Access to Excel;
    Public Sub Expdata()
    Dim rst As DAO.Recordset
    Dim Apxl As Object
    Dim xlWBk, xlWSh As Object
    Dim PathEx As String
    Dim fld As DAO.Field
    PathEx = Forms("Export").Text14 'path comes from the directory given in form
    Set Apxl = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
    Set rst = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("LatestSNR")
    Set xlWBk = Apxl.Workbooks.Open(PathEx)
    'xlWBk.ChangeFileAccess xlReadWrite
    Set xlWBk = Workbook("PathEx")
    Apxl.Visible = True
    Set xlWSh = xlWBk.Worksheets("Metadatasheet")
    xlWSh.Activate
    xlWSh.Range("A2").Select
    For Each fld In rst.Fields
    Apxl.ActiveCell = fld.Name
    Apxl.ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1).Select
    Next
    rst.MoveFirst
    xlWSh.Range("A2").CopyFromRecordset rst
    xlWSh.Range("1:1").Select
    ' selects all of the cells
    Apxl.ActiveSheet.Cells.Select
    ' selects the first cell to unselect all cells
    xlWSh.Range("A2").Select
    rst.Close
    Set rst = Nothing
    ' Quit excel
    Apxl.Quit
    End Sub
    After the execution of code, the query is transferred to excel sheet and is viewed in 'Read only' mode. If I try to save it, a copy of the excel file is produced. Can the Excel be opened in Read/Write mode ? so as to save the workbook and also to transfer
    the query to same workbook repeatedly.
    If in case the change of mode is not possible, then is there any alternative  method?

    Try this version:
    Public Sub Expdata()
    Dim rst As DAO.Recordset
    Dim Apxl As Object
    Dim xlWBk As Object, xlWSh As Object
    Dim PathEx As String
    Dim i As Long
    PathEx = Forms("Export").Text14 'path comes from the directory given in form
    Set Apxl = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
    Set xlWBk = Apxl.Workbooks.Open(PathEx)
    Set xlWSh = xlWBk.Worksheets("Metadatasheet")
    Set rst = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("LatestSNR")
    For i = 1 To rst.Fields.Count
    xlWSh.Cells(1, i).Value = rst.Fields(i - 1).Name
    Next i
    rst.MoveFirst
    xlWSh.Range("A2").CopyFromRecordset rst
    xlWBk.Close SaveChanges:=True
    Apxl.Quit
    rst.Close
    Set rst = Nothing
    End Sub
    or else
    Public Sub Expdata()
    Dim PathEx As String
    PathEx = Forms("Export").Text14 'path comes from the directory given in form
    DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet TransferType:=acExport, _
    SpreadsheetType:=acSpreadsheetTypeExcel12Xml, _
    TableName:="LatestSNR", _
    Filename:=PathEx, _
    HasFieldNames:=True, _
    Range:="Metadatasheet!"
    End Sub

  • Reg : export data from ALV to excel file

    Hi All,
    I am using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY to display the output. I have total 73 columns getting displayed in output but when i export the data to the excel file using (ctrlshiftF9) I am getting only first 43 columns in the first row and from 44th column on wards the data is populated in the 1st  column of second row.
    Please let me know is there any particular setting by which I can get all the 73 columns in a single row.
    Thanks in advance.
    VIJAY

    Hi vijay,
    You can try setting your line width to 255 in your abap program.
    Otherwise,  you can try an alternative:
    1. Put a customize button on the ALV toolbar.
    2. Go to se41 to create th buttons
    2. do i_callback_program in ALV function. or SET PF_STATUS
    3. Then in sy-ucomm, use 'GUI_DOWNLOAD' to xls.
    Hope this helps you.
