Exporting photos to shutterfly

I'm trying to export pics from iPhoto to Shutterfly and keep getting this message.  Error: unable to retreive system proxy settings

I have discovered the answer for this issue on my computer.  The uploader needs to first read all of the images, so as others have pointed out, don't select any images at first, and click EXPORT.  Choose Shutterfly and ALL (yes all) of your pictures will populate.  Allow it to populate them and then click cancel.  Then, I selected the pictures in iPhoto I wanted (by holding down the command key) until I selected all that I wanted uploaded.  Select Export again, choose Shutterfly and you will now see just the photos you selected.  It allowed me then to upload to a NEW folder.  Hope this helps.

  • How can I export photos to Shutterfly using the new Photos app on my Mac?

I just blindly accepted Photos as an upgrade from iPhoto.  Now, I cannot figure out how to export my photos to Shutterfly (this is both my backup method for saving photos and also how I send albums to family/friends).

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

So there I am between a rock and a hard place, until Apple reinstate Batch Rename.

We posted  a few Apple Scripts in the User Tip section of this forum to help with batch changing. It is only a workaround, but can speed up things a little.  see this page:  User Tips (7)

  • How can I export photos from my iPad or iPod to my main computer or hard drive. My old computer died and I want to get my photos onto my new computer. Thanks in advance.

HOw can I export photos from my iPad or iPod to my main computer? My old computer died with my photos on it but I want to move my photo library from my iPad or iPod to the computer I just bought. Thanks for any help you can give.

Sorry but your iPhoto library is not on an iPad or iPod - you may have photos there (most likely low resolution copies) but not an iPhoto library - dying computers (along with software and human errors) are why you always must have a backup - now is the time to load it

  • How do I export photo's from one user acct. to another user acct

Trying to export photo's from one user acct. to another user acct. on same computer into second users Iphoto app.

File -> Export to the destop. Drag to Users/Shared Folder and then import from other account.
    Or use iPhoto Sharing:
For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
(You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.

  • I cannot export photos in iPhoto 09 version 8.1.2

I am unable to export photos.  A warning pops up saying it is "unable to create/storeandgo/etc etc.
I have tried copy and pasting to the usb drive but it will not let me do this either

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

How to export photos from photo gallery to my iPad

I had no trouble finding the "Export" tools in the "File" menu. They are greyed out when no photo is selected, but they are functional after selecting one or more photos.
I agree that it would be nice to have the "Reveal in Finder" option back, but they probably don't want us mucking about inside the Photos library structure.

  • How to export photos from ipad to sd card

For some reason my ipad doesn't recongize readers attached.  Or maybe a better question is how do I know if ipad recognizes reader? How do I export photos from ipd to SD card?

You can only use the kit to copy photos from a card (or direct from a camera) to the iPad's Photos app, you can't use it to copy content off the iPad.
To copy photos to the iPad via the kit, then if you are copying the photos onto the card yourself from your computer then you will need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them
To copy photos taken with the iPad, copied to via the kit or saved from emails/websites etc from the iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

Sending the photos over WiFi might be the easiest way for you to accomplish this. The Wireless Transfer App should work. You will both have to download the app on your own devices. Read about it here.
