Exporting Tablespace using DATAPUMP

Hi,
I found out that exporting a tablespace with Datapump doesn't
export Objects like Sequences or Procedures. Also you can't recreate
a user when you import the data.-->you can if you use SCHEMA-Option
Did I forgot any option or is it not possible?
What I need is a possibility to export all users with all objects of
a tablespace!
Is that only possible by exporting with the SCHEMA-Option?

    Not sure why this thread was locked, but I unlocked it.
    There may be segments in this tablespace, but they may not be owned by a schema that is exported using Data Pump. For example, if all of the storage in this tablespace is owned by the SYS schema, then there is nothing in this tablespace to be exported.
    Any idea what schema owns the segments in this tablespace?

  • Tablespace export import via datapump

    Friends ,
    I want to export a particular tablespace using datapump "expdp" and also import it to a new tablespace of a new database . Using datapump , is it possible to do ?
    Plz help .. ...

    Maybe it's easier to use Transportable Tablespaces, see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/tspaces.htm#sthref1281
    It's also possible to use datapump, but it takes longer, see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/dp_export.htm#sthref71

  • Total number of records of partition tables exported using datapump

    Hi All,
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production
    OS: RHEL
    I exported a table with partitions using datapump and I would like to verify the total number of all the records exported of all these partition tables.The export has a query on it with WHERE ITEMDATE< TO_DATE (1-JAN-2010). I assume you want this so you can run a script to check the count? If not and this is being done manually, then just add up the individual rows. I'm not very good at writing scripts, but I would think that someone here could come up with a script that would sum up the row count for the partitions of the tables from your log file. This is not something that Data Pump writes to the log file.

  • Table export using datapump  -  estimate the time to export

    I aim to export the table ABC of size 300GB using datapump ( oracle 10g)
    I would like to know how long to take the table for export ( estimate time)

    There are so many unknown variables like the number of CPUs, speed of disks, other loads on your database that makes it very inaccurate to guess.
    Based on your old version 10g and the assumption that your server is same age and average power, you should be looking at 30-50GB an hour, i.e. 6 to 10 hours. I could be wrong though.

    I dont understand the problem why it is not working . Need advice plz ... ...

    But that's not fair..
    Imagine the situation, where I figured out that some data was edited a year ago, but I don't know by whom.. Audit was enabled at that time, I was exporting (using the regular exp) AUD$ table during the year, everything is good.. BUT.. Two months ago I upgraded my DB to 11g. Hence I cannot use imp in order to restore the table and see what was going on a year ago.. That means that I always have to have an ability to create 10g database in order to use my AUD$ export??
    Is there any other way of backing up this table? Sop far I was doing exp+truncate, but since 11g release where exp/imp are not supported I am trying to think about another way of dealing with the audit...
    does anybody have ideas about it?
    thanks,
    M

    some of the default schemas were purposely dropped from the database. The only default schema available now are -
    DBSNMP, DIP, OUTLN, PUBLIC, SCOTT, SYS, SYSMAN, SYSTEM, TSMSYS.
    DIP, OUTLN, TSMSYS were created again.
    Could this be a cause of problem??

    transformed to target side

    it is giving:
    ORA-39123: Data Pump transportable tablespace job aborted
    ORA-29345: cannot plug a tablespace into a database using an incompatible character set
    when i searched in google some suggestions are given like do transport using rman.
    But when we have the option in impdp why i need to go to rman tool.
    i want to use impdp only. but i ma unable to use it properly while importing.
    can you please alter me.
    thank you!

    Hello,
    ORA-29345: cannot plug a tablespace into a database using an incompatible character setIt cannot work due to the error ORA-29345 above:
    ORA-29345: cannot plug a tablespace into a database using an incompatible character set
    Cause: Oracle does not support plugging a tablespace into a database using an
    incompatible character set.
    Action: Use import/export or unload/load to move data instead.
    i want to use impdp only. but i ma unable to use it properly while importing.So, as suggested, move the data by import/export. But, be careful, as you have different character set you may have conversions.
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,

    Other table just contain my normal data.
    Export statement:
    - expdp schools/** schemas=schools directory=exp_dir dumpfile=schools.dmp
    Import statement:
    - impdp schools/** schemas=schools directory=imp_dir dumpfile=schools.dmp
    parfile=exclude.par
    exclude.par content:
    exclude=trigger:"like 'GRDMLTR_%'"
    exclude=table:"IN('MAP','MAP_RDT')"
    - impdp schools/** schemas=schools directory=imp_dir dumpfile=schools.dmp
    parfile=include.par content=metadata_only
    include.par content:
    include=table:"IN('MAP','MAP_RDT')"
    - impdp schools/** schemas=schools directory=imp_dir dumpfile=schools.dmp
    parfile=include.par content=data_only
    However, after my import, i did a validation on the georaster object
    select sdo_geor.validategeoraster(geor) from map;
    SDO_GEOR.VALIDATEGEORASTER(GEOR)
    13442: RDT=MAP_RDT, RID=1
    There is problem in the georaster object but i don't quite understand the information that i found online.
    After my import, the type of the georaster change to
    MAP
    Name Null? Type
    ID NUMBER(38)
    GEOR PUBLIC.SDO_GEORASTER
    SCHOOL
    Name Null? Type
    CODE NOT NULL NUMBER(38)
    ENG_NAME VARCHAR2(200)
    ADDRESS VARCHAR2(200)
    POSTAL VARCHAR2(200)
    TELEPHONE VARCHAR2(200)
    FAX VARCHAR2(200)
    EMAIL VARCHAR2(200)
    STATUS VARCHAR2(200)
    ZONE_ID NUMBER(38)
    GEOM PUBLIC.SDO_GEOMETRY
    MG_ID NUMBER(38)
    And i have problem running my application that render the georaster with a theme created on the school. The error message is as below:
    In the mapviewer console
    2008-07-29 16:46:26.773 ERROR cannot find entry in ALL_SDO_GEOM_METADATA table for theme: SCHOOLS_LOCATION
    2008-07-29 16:46:26.773 ERROR using query:select SRID from ALL_SDO_GEOM_METADATA where TABLE_NAME=:1 and (COLUMN_NAME=:2 OR COLUMN_NAME=:3 or COLUMN_NAME=:4) and OWNER=:5

    2008-07-29 16:46:26.784 ERROR Exhausted Resultset
    I sincerely hope if anyone could provide me with some guidance. Thanks in advance =)

    This is probably almost a year too late but I had the same problem and was able to resolve it by registering the recently imported geoRaster data
    SQL>select * from the (select sdo_geor_admin.listGeoRasterObjects from dual);
    This will likely show that you have 'unregistered' data and the following will register it after which your validation calls should all return true instead of 13442
    SQL>execute sdo_geor_admin.registerGeoRasterObjects;
    SORRY -- I just saw that you'd already done the registerGeoRasterObjects bit msm
