Exporting video made in FCE to WMV?

Hello,
After making a video in FCE, how do I export it to WMV? Do I need some other software rather than IDVD?
Thank you.
Ed

You need to purchase Flip4Mac.

  • Exporting video made with imovie to anyplace

I know this must be simple, but after literally 5-6 hours trouble shooting, I must cry "Uncle" and see if anyone can help.
I created several simple videos in imovie. I've only been able to export 20 seconds of the first one. Somehow I managed to move 5 frames from the whole video to the top window. Those are the only frames I've been able to export. By now, I've probably made 10 videos trying to get what I want. I now have one that I'd really like to share. No matter what I highlight or how I share, I always get 20 seconds of that first video. What am I doing wrong? I know it must be something simple.
I don't know how to tell you which OS I've got, but I just got my Mac in October, if that helps.
I'd so appreciate someone helping me.

No matter what I highlight or how I share, I always get 20 seconds of that first video. What am I doing wrong?
Only projects (content in the "upper" window) can be shared/exported. If you've "made 10 videos" in the "lower" window, then they are nor "projects" and cannot be shared/exported.

  • Can Final Cut Express 4 export videos into iDVD '06?

    Hello cp115,
Sorry for the unrelated question, but I am going to buy FCE 4 and was wondering if I could export videos made there into iDVD '06? I am assuming so.
    Christoph

An educated guess is that it will work. But I'd like you to confirm this prior to purchasing with apple directly (pre sales questions).

  • How do i export a video made in imovie to youtube in the best quality possible?

how do i export a video made in imovie to youtube in the best quality possible?

You can only export in the same resolution that you imported.
That is if you shot in 720p you cannot export in 1080p.
Share > YouTube and select the highest resolution available.

No to both. You need third party software to create WMV. Telestream has tools for this.

  • Premiere Elements 4 - exporting video to .wmv

    Hi,
I have Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 and cannot seem to export videos to .wmv formats. Windows Media file (.wmv) is listed as a supported video format for export in the help files, and I have found several threads that talk about exporting it on earlier versions of PE. However, when I go to file / export / Movie I do not see that option available. Nor do I see it from the Share tab. MPEG
Anyone know how to export video to .wmv files in PE4.0?
    Thanks,

It is there in the Share tab... I had trouble finding it intially. You need to scroll down through the options... yes it does scroll down. :)

  • Horizontal Lines on Exported Video

I have a problem where the video I export displays strange horizontal lines on moving objects.  Let me expand.  My source video is shot on a Sony HDV device generating clips of 1440x1080i 1.333 ratio with 25fps.  The video is displayed fine within PE9 and any exported video as M2T at 1440 x1080 (H.264 preset) also displays fine.  However, I also wish to create Windows Media (WMV) exports but the exported video is subject to horizontal banding.  I have tried various settings including modifying the preset HD 720p 25 to including interlaced processing and manually setting aspect ratios but the same thing happens.  This also happens with the AVI preset.
As suggested by the help I also adjusted the clip settings before export to include "reverse field dominance" and "Interlace consecutive frames" but that made things worse.
I'm sure this will have something to do with interlacing settings somewhere.  Can anyone help?  An example of the video is below:

@ Steve - to answer your questions:
Yes, HDV tape, shot on a Sony HDR HR1CE on Sony HDV tape
Yes, project settings set exactly the same as the source format - PAL | HDV | HDV 1080i 25
    Yes, over firewire using PE9
Imported clips are trimmed as required, inserted into project, a title added (from the templates), some video and audio transitions applied between clips and that's it really.  Haven't used any advanced settings.
As I say looks fine (i.e no interlacing) in the preview and when exported as M2T H.264.  Interlacing occurs with other share presets.  I don't believe what I'm attempting should require me to use any 3rd party exporters or software as PE9 should have no problem.

  • Export video from iMovie with maximum iPod Touch quality specs

We got an iPod touch to playback short films (made in iMovie) using Apple's composite video cable connected to a projector.
The published *TV and video* specs on the iPod touch webpage shows what the iPod Touch should be capable of playing back the following:
[1] +- H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;+
[2]+- H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;+
[3]+- MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats+
Exporting from iMovie using the *Share > Export Using Quicktime...* option and adjusting the settings to match any of those above creates files that iTunes refuses to copy to the iPod.
iMovies' *Share > Export Movie...* and iTunes' *Advanced > Create iPod or iPhone version* create videos with a bitrate of only ~1.6Mbps - both of which don't look great projected on a big screen.
Has anyone had any success exporting video at the published 2.5Mbps spec AND been able to copy them to the iPod Touch?
    Thanks!

Figured out how to get HQ 2.5mbps video on the iPod Touch.
By changing one of the options in iMovie's "Export using Quicktime..." option: "Export: Movie to MPEG-4 > Options... > Video Options..." resulted in a file that works on the iPod.
    Here's a screenshot of the settings: http://readingpsc.org.uk/files/ipodtouch-hq-export.gif
Select the 'Baseline' profile ONLY (deselect the default 'Main' profile) and the iPod Touch will accept the file at 2.5Mbps - and, oddly, even bitrates higher than that, I managed to put a 20Mbps file on the iPod Touch.
    Here are some test files:
    4:3 - http://readingpsc.org.uk/files/ipodtouch-test-2500kbps.mp4 (6.9mb)
    16:9 - http://readingpsc.org.uk/files/ipodtouch-test-wide-2500kbps.mp4 (6.9mb)
Hope that helps someone out there!

  • How to export Videos and Pictures from the iPhone 4 to my PC

    Hello together,
maybe this question will have a simple answer, but finding this answer seems to not so simple...at least for me...
I have several 100 photos and some videos (made by the iPhone 4) on my iPhone 4.
I want to export some fotos and also a video to my Windows PC to give these files to friend. For example the video is to long to send via Email. I would like to burn the files on a disc.
How can I export these files to my PC?
I tried to use a SW called ifunbox, but this SW always closes with an error message before even starting up.
I also found some information about copying pictures and videos directly to the PC via the Windows Explorer. Unfortunately my iPhone 4 is not listed in the Windows Explorer and I can not find the iPhone via the device manager...
    Can anybody help me?

    Hello roaminggnome,
thank you for the quick reply.
I tried Photoshop Elements, which is also mentioned in the pdf file you linked in your reply.
Unfortunately I can not select the iPhone 4 from the device list. It seems that the iPhone is not detected.
In iTunes I have no problems...
    ...any ideas...

  • Error Message when trying to export video

I've been getting the following error message whenever I try to export video I've edited in Lightroom (picture below).
The error message reads, "amecommand has encountered an error. [/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/DynamicLinkMediaServer1/main/shared/adobe/MediaCore/Backend/Ma ke/Mac/../../Src/Sequence/Sequence.cpp-1315]"
The error message shows up as soon as I hit the export button to export video. After I click "continue," the export progress bar at top left makes no progress.
    -I'm running Lightroom 4 with updates 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3 installed.
-I'm running it on Mac OS X version 10.6.8
-The video files I'm color correcting are .mov quicktime files that have been sent over from Final Cut 7's Media Manager.
-I haven't been able to make any video exports at all. This problem occurred as soon as I made my first attempt.
-The only other software I have open currently is Final Cut 7, Safari and my email.
-Processor is 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory is 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, 32.92 gigs available on my laptop's (C:) drive.
Would appreciate any help! The error message is pictured below:

Trash your preferences. Trash your project render files. Switch off background rendering. Export without using the computer for anything else.
Oh, and if you're using 10.9 switch off App Nap.

  • 16:9 Help needed. Workflow: extracted video from DVD, FCE HD edit & DVDSP.

    Hi,
I have a project where according to the camera person it was shot in 16:9 with the camera (assuming a DV camcorder of some sort). It was captured from the camera and converted to a DVD (VIDEO_TS folder and everything) and sent to me for editing.
What I need help with is a workflow (and settings) to edit and output this properly.
    1) My first hiccup comes in the extract. When I view the DVD that was sent to me, the video looks squished as it squeezes the video into the 4:3 aspect ratio. I was using MPEG Streamclip to extract it. I've extracted it in a 16:9 QT format and it looks fine in FCE HD. However, once I started reading more about editing 16:9 video in the FCE PDF manual, I'm wondering if I should have kept it as 4:3 and then toggled the Anamorphic setting for the sequence.
    2) Once I have the correct source to edit - are there any considerations on export for compression? I read somewhere about a program to set the anamorpgic bit for iDVD, but plan to use DVDSP so I'm assuming I can skip this step. I also read in the forum about a QT Conversion setting to use. Do I need to? I was planning to export a reference movie and use Compressor with that. I was planning to use a "Widescreen" compressor option. Is this correct?
    3) I know this is beyond this forum, but any advice on what settings should I use in producing the DVD? As noted above I plan to use DVDSP 3 to create the DVD, and I do notice the 16:9 settings in there for each track. I was planning to use the 16:9 Letterbox track setting. Is this correct?
Any other pitfalls I should be aware of as I navigate the 16:9 jungle?
    Thanks in advance.

First, with regard to your chipset - graphics/video card:
Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset, featuring the Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 450...
Your graphics card has no video RAM (VRAM) of its own.  So, it must use some of your system RAM to be able to function. This is 'dynamically allocated'. That is, your system decides how much system RAM to allocate to the graphics card. I am not aware of anyway to manually control this.
Next, you said you have installed Windows XP. Toshiba India has not posted any XP drivers for your system. Toshiba laptops are very finicky about using Toshiba 'tweaked' hardware drivers to be able to function properly. This computer is a Toshiba European version of your model, and it would appear to have a full set of XP drivers, these will work just fine in your system:
    Satellite Pro C650 PSC11E Downloads
The order you load the hardware drivers and Toshiba utilities is critical. The files available for download above are all zip files, so you will have to extract the .exe files to be able to install them. Install the drivers first, then the Toshiba utilities, and given that you already have XP basically working install in this order:
    1st Drivers:
    1) Chipset
    2) Storage Manager
    3) Display
    4) Sound
    5) then all other XP hardware drivers
    2nd Utilities:
    1) Common modules
    2) Hotkey utility
    3) all other XP Toshiba utilities.
    Good luck.

  • Cannot export video's from iphoto '08

I want to export videos in mp4 format that were imported from my camera into iphoto '08.
The first problem is that "export..." won't work. I selected the 7 videos, then "Export...". I selected file format. However, it doesn't recognize that anything has been selected and grey's out the "Export" button.
So, I came up with an alternate plan...burn them to a cd. I selected the same 7 videos and then "burn" section from the "share" menu. It prompts me for a cd, which I inserted. Then, I see a report that these 7 video's take 90MB of space...I hit continue and the cd is burned. However, when I look at the cd later(and I have done this twice now), the cd doesn't have any of the videos, but it does contain the 172 photo's that are in the same album. Again, I did this twice. I selected the album, then typed mp4 into the search window, then selected the 7 resulting videos. And the program was telling me it had 7 photos.
I am VERY frustrated that I have found 2 bugs in this software. I used to be able to export video's all day long. Not good.
Since I am complaining now, the only reason I am doing any of this is because I want to give my friends a CD with all the photos and videos from our recent trip. They have a mac...should be piece of cake. It is not, because the video's just sit in iphoto, but I can't do anything with them. I wish slide show would seemlessly integrate photo's and video in order. My Sanyo camera does this, but my Mac doesn't. I tried sending all the photo's and video's to iDVD, and it worked, but that takes hours to do all the rendering...and at the end of the day, the quality isn't as good.....
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Phil

There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
    1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
To upload to MySpace or any site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services.
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves. If you're willing to risk database corruption, you can restore the older functionality simply by right clicking on the iPhoto Library and choosing 'Show Package Contents'. Then simply make an alias to the folders you require and put that alias on the desktop or where ever you want it. Be aware though, that this is a hack and not supported by Apple.

    TD

  • How to export video that plays back smoothly?

I have an HD project in Premiere Pro CS4 that is about 9 minutes.  When I render out to Flash for the web, once it's all buffered it plays back real smooth.  So the client wants a copy of the "file" to be played on his computer running Windows and Windows Media Player which he will attach to a large 55" flatscreen via HDMI at a trade show.  I rendered out several different files ranging from .MOV to H.264 in various resolutions (1920x1080, 1280x720p, 720x480 wide, iPod, etc.) and tested them on my Dell Inspiron i3 laptop running Windows 7 Home 64 bit connected to my 46" tv via HDMI to simulate what the client would have.
The 1920 file was huge (2GB) as one would expect and plays back jerky
The 1280x720p .MP4 file was about 400mb which I was excited about, but plays back jerky
The other two (.MOV and .MP4) at 720x480 play back smoothly
So I'm guessing that it's either a disk / processor issue with playing back the larger files or combo of that and the graphics card or am I having an issue with the way the settings are set in the export options?
The box I'm producing the video on is a Mac i7 quad-core, 8GB RAM and a nice ATI card.  The full rez versions of the files play fine on it.  BluRay is out too.  Don't have a burner and they don't have a player.
So what file format and settings can I render out that will yield smooth(er) results at larger resolutions for my intended output?
    Thanks,
    Steve

And the answer is.... converting the footage to WMV.  Tada.  I exported a nice huge HD 1920x1080 H.264 file and then used iSkysoft Video Converter to convert it to WMV.  Now the only thing is that iSkysoft Coverter only allows 1280x720 as it's largest resolution for WMVs, but even so, the quality on a 46" LCD TV coming from a laptop via HDMI looks pretty sharp.  The video was running very smooth (and it was running off a USB key <g>) to boot.
The file size of the original HD H.264 file:  9.02GB
The file size of the converted WMV: 437.5MB
All in all I'm happy with this breakthrough.  I was "this" close to buying a BluRay burner, media and telling the client to use a BluRay player.
Now... I love what I got, but it could be better.  Does anyone know of a good video converter that will convert WMVs to true HD resolution (1920x1080) or is that 1280x720 a WMV limit?
    Thanks all,
    Steve

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files from a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.
