Expression pedal: can one set absolute values?

I have a set up where I am using an expression pedal (Moog pedal through an Apogee Gio) to control the resolution value in Bitcrushed in Mainstage. The pedal is fine when it is all the way on, but is so sensative that it sweeps rapidly to off when I change press down on it. Is there a way to adjust the speed of its sweep, and also to set an absolute low value so that it does not go all the way to zero?

You can do both basic Min/Max scaling, and alter the curves etc with MS2. All of this is accessed via the Screen Control Inspector

Can I set the value of kernel paramaters less than default in Solaris 10? If specified less than default values for kernel parameters in /etc/system, system is getting default values for such as SHMMAX, SEMMSL, SEMOPM. Is the default kernel parameter values the minimum values in Solaris 10?

Yes, but not through /etc/system.
/etc/system is the old way to do it. As a backward compatibility, it will allow lines there to increase parameters but not decrease them. This is on the theory that many memory defaults were significantly increased, and older /etc/system setups were trying to increase small defaults, not decrease large ones).
Use prctl and set up a project.

Hi, How can I set default values for allocate mode in AO config. To be specific, in the attached vi, I need to set the Allocate Mode in AO Config to 'Use FIFO Memory (6)' if the value inside my case structure is false and to 'no change (0)' if the value inside the case strusture is true.

Create two constants for the Allocate Mode input (right click > create > constant). Place one in the true case of the case structure, and place the other one in the false case. Wire them to the same tunnel (border of the case structure), then wire the tunnel to the Allocate Mode terminal of the AO Config. I don't have Traditional DAQ installed, but that should do it.

Photoshop has to have full administrator rights to have read/write access.
This means you need to run Photoshop CS5.1 in an Administrator account and set it up to "Run as Administrator."
1. Close Photoshop if it's open.
2. Right click on your Photoshop CS5.1 launch icon then select "Run as Administrator" from the context menu. (You will have to enter Admin Password if UAC is enabled to change this setting.)
3. Launch Photoshop CS5.
4. See if you create and save a document.
Even if you are in an Administrator account you have to do this as Vista's Admin account isn't really the Super Admin as it is in XP so you have to elevate the rights by selecting "Run as Administrator". This setting is sticky so you should only have to do this once. I am not sure why CS3 is suddenly acting as if it does't have Admin rights unless you are running it in a new account that isn't an administrator or maybe uninstalled (cleanScript?) then reinstalled.
If can't create or save a document, check that the account that Photoshop is in is an Administrator account.
To check if you are in an Administrator account...
1. Type user account in your Vista or Windows7 start search bar. (Start search bar is at the bottom of the panel that opens when you click the start Windows start globe located on the far left hand side of your Windows task bar.)
2. Click on "User Accounts" which should show up at the top of the list. This will open the dialog to User Accounts where you can "Change Your Account Type". If UAC (User Account Control) is turned on, you will need to enter the Admin password to change this setting.

The setting the value in the form's Load event does work!
I agree for the form designer but it does not fit the need.
What I have is a "meta-data" driven logic where I define a screen that matches database fields:
Example : Screen new person has 5 fields : Gender (combobox) , first name (textbox) , last name (textbox) , type (combobox) ,birthday (datetime)
I have a Form derived class that takes this definition and builds each control at run time.
The definition also comes with potential default values (i.e. :type = client) so what I want to do is affect the value on the fly. This works fine with textbox or datetime. I'm trying to do the same for combobox.
Maybe I got this all wrong from a design point of view.

Can't Set Default Value for LOV Presentation DB Column

I have a simple form. One of the fields is populated using a named, dynamic LOV with the following source query:
SELECT USER_NAME DISPLAY_VALUE, USER_ID RETURN_VALUE
FROM USER_ACCT
ORDER BY 1
I want the default user to be public, which is one of the possible values returned by the above query. However, I just can't find a good way to do this.
If I put the following query in the Default section, nothing happens.
SELECT USER_ID
FROM USER_ACCT
WHERE USER_NAME = 'PUBLIC'
If I look up the ID and statically put the value in the Default, it works (This isn't acceptable . From environment to environment the value will differ)
If I put the SQL in an after footer page process, it sets the value correctly in the session but, does not update the display.
If I try to put it in the Post Calculation Computation section, it merely produces an error.
I'm sure that I am missing something simple but, I have not spent an hour and half on this.

A function I'd like to see is the ability to not only create a select list dynamically, but also set the default value of that select list's item to the first (or Nth?) value on that list. This could be specified in the builder by an item option.
E.G., if a select list LOV returns three values: "foo", "bar", "baz", go ahead and set the value of the select list item to "foo".
As far as I've been able to discover, there's no built-in way to do this in Application Express. I've looked through the app, the docs, and the forum. If such a method does exist, please let me know.
Otherwise, we end up running additional processes that reissue the query so we can grab the first item as the default value. This seems inefficient to me.
Keeping the LOV query and the "first item" query consistent can present problems as well. We usually end up pushing the LOV query into a function so it can be maintained in a single location, but this seems more like a workaround than anything else.
While the query is probably cached, Application Express has that return value already, right? Why calculate/choose it again?

How can I set a value in a field before create when a New button is clicked

I am using
JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0.3984 and
JHeadstart 10.1.3.1 release 10.1.3.1.26
I have one group and there is a detail group under that group.
From main group to detail group there are 3 field relating those groups.

fieldSEQ (auto-generated by database trigger)
These 3 fields are PK.
In the detail group, there is a New button. So, when the New button is clicked, it tries to create the record with those 3 fields value as those are coming from main group. As a result it's giving the duplicate error as that record already exists in the table.
But I don't want to create the record with that SEQ as that will be created in the trigger.
How can I set the SEQ temporarily any no. (-1) before create when the New button is clicked?
Can anybody help?

What I would suggest is setting the sequence number at the creation of the entity object (so in the create() method) by using the database sequence. This way it will always be unique.
So something like:

I wanted to create a custom Model Driven LOV with my data control listed below
Countries
 -CountryId
 -CountryName..but I wanted to display the label similar to this

2 - England
n - France..so I thought of manipulating the select items in a bean

Hi Ralf,
create a property node for your control (diagram view:
popup->create->property node. Select "value" on the property node. Now
you can wire any boolean output to that property to control your control.

guess that one option in a RowImpl would be to check if the attribute is null or if the attribute value can be found in the VO that populates the list. If first is true or seconds false (cannot be found) you return the first value of the VO, making it the current attribute value

Can't Set Item Value After Calling Stored Procedure

In a forms6i program unit, I call a stored procedure. The stored procedure executes successfully. Then I set the value of a date item on a data block to sysdate.
When I run the form and execute the program unit the stored procedure executes successfully, but then the program unit gives me a No Data Found error when I set the value of the date item on the block. The value of the date item never changes. However, if I comment out the call to the stored procedure, the date item changes to sysdate and there is no error message generated.
Just to be sure, I moved the logic to set the date item value to a separate button on the form. Then I re-ran the program unit. The stored procedure executed successfully. Then I clicked the button to set the value of the date field on the block, which gave me the same no data found error.
Then I commented out the call in the program unit and re-ran the test. The program unit executed. Then I clicked the button to set the date value in the block and it was set to sysdate with no errors.
Why can I not set the date item after running a stored procedure?

I cannot imagine why you would want to do this. The nextvalue from sequence would just the next available number from the sequence, the numbers wouldn't necessarily even be sequencial. So not very useful as a parameter to a report.
