External Business Connector to ECC via XI

Hi,
i have following scenario:
external customer of our client sends IDocs via BC to XI, from XI to ECC.
XI to ECC is no problem but i have doubts in using BC-Sender-Adapter.
Doubts concerning what kind of paramters the client needs to send IDoc to XI. Because it is HTTP-Protocol he needs an URL! Can anyone provide me this URL?
Or do i need a RFC additionally?!
Does someboday has a step-by-step solution?
Need help - br Jens

Hi ok because i am not aware of everything i have to do to make this scenario work i have at least this question.
Because i have to give the sender an URL for the PlainHTTP Sender-Adapter the URL has to be like this:
http://xxxxx:8000/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace=http%3A//sap.com/xi/yyyyy&interface=abcd&service=ghj&sap-user=skapu&sap-password=super
But in case of Idoc-Tunneling, what will be the <b>interface=abcd</b> - will it be the IDoc itself and when how does it have to look like?!
really appreciate ur help so far,
br Jens

  • Linking External Business objects of ECC to Case in Webclient

    Hi guys,
i have a requirement where i need to link external business object like BUS2080(Service Order),BUS2088(Service Notification) in record of UI component CRMCMP_CMG(CRMCMP_CMG/RecordTree ).
I have done the below  configuarions:
    1) where i have created registry entry for the external object types.Defined the element types for the external objects.
    2) then i have done " Assign Element Types and Business Object Types to a Process'.
3)Also implemented the BADI  CRM_CMG_ADD_OBJECT to link the external  business objects.
Now i want to see these external business objects in the wbclient component  view CRMCMP_CMG/RecordTree.
But couldn't get the objects there  only i can find the standard record model with CRM Business objects only.
If any one  has worked in case management in webclient to link the objects please share your inputs .Also if anybody have any idea please share.

Hi, did you find a solution already to your problem? We are facing the same problem.
In the backend transaction (CRM in Sapgui) it's working fine, but in the CRM_UI transaction the reference object cannot be selected from the dropdown menu...
Please let me know if you have a solution.

  • SAP ECC 6.0 -- Business Connector / Error:Input values do not contain IDOC

    Hello,
We have a scenario R/3 4.6C ORDRSP to the SAP business connector which is running fine. When I send the first IDoc the routing roule is created automatically and it can be adapted.
Now we switched to the ECC 6.0 system but I get the following error message:
"Input values do not contain IDOC" and no routing roule is created either. The status of the IDoc is 03.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Could it have anything to do with ECC 6.0?
    Thank you for your support.

    Hi,
I hope you must have added new SAP ECC system under SAP tab on SAP BC page.
    To check exact error information:
FIrst open SAP BC page in browser (http://localhoet:port)
Go to transaction tab, and there under TID box, enter transaction id corresponding to SM58. And check what it says.
    About routing rule:
BC automatically creates routing rule, if not you can edit and direct them to correct process flow, or you can create new routing rule, as BC need routing rule to move IDOC ahead.
Please let us know further about error information, so that we can help you further.

  • Business Connector

    Hi,
I was told that we have SAP Business Connector used in our current BW 3.5.
But in RSA1 ->Source System, I only have the following:
    Source System:
    --->MYSelf
    --->Flat File
    --->R/3
Where to find/see if Business Connector is used int he BW 3.5?
    Please advise, thank you.

    Hi Martin,
Understand that the Business Connector has been replaced by XI.
Yes, at the moment, we're still using Business Connector.
But the question is, I can't find any source system of Business Connector in BW. If we're using it in BW, it should be appeared in RSA1 ->Source System ->Web Services, correct?
What about if it is used in ECC6? Should I check it via SM59 ->Web service and see fi the RFC is created for it?
And finally, Business Connector should normally installed on separate server (not in BW and ECC), correrct?
    Kindly advise, thnak you.

  • To run a java service in SAP business connector.

    Hi,
I have created one java service in SAP business connector. When i run it, i get the error as " Service 'rfctest:validatedata' is not operational. To run this service, first recompile the Java source."
I have set the "path" variable, still i am getting the same error.
What should i do to solve this problem?

    Hello,
when you call a BAPI from an external system via Business Connector, you will send a bXML document to BC (for example via HTTP). Refer to the SapbcSAPAdapterGuide for how to do that in detail, its good explained (see 4-25 and 7-3) there.
The explanation about sender/receiver is not correct. sender and receiver are the logical system names of the SAP backend system and the external system (check in transaction SALE of the SAP system).
Just send such document to BC, it will create the routing rule automatically. Then complete the routing rule (see 7-2) and activate it.

  • IDoc / Business Connector - future developments

    hi,
I would like to know some possibilities to transfer data from a non-sap-system to a sap-system. I think the IDoc-interface is really good for transporting data into SAP-systems. I have spoken with some people they mean that the IDoc-interface is out-of-date. What do you think about it? Which other possibilities exist?
Another possibility is to use XML-documents, but how could I transfer this data? With business-connector (it's also a out-of-date tool)?
What do you think which are future developments of transferring data into SAP-systems (e.g. 4.6c / 4.7)?
    thanks
    markus

The reason why asked about the version is that there some integration methods that may not be available in some versions like the Webservices that Rich mentioned is not available in 46C. Idocs is not an outdated technology, but it is more geared towards EDI interfaces rather than other interfaces.
You have to first differentiate between your conversion/bulk load requirements, online/real-time requirements and your batch interface requirements. Depending on which one you are talking about, the choice of the interfacing tools will differ. No one tool is good for all. RFCs/BAPIs are a good way to do real-time interfaces with users online, via business connector. But this is resource intensive, so you should not use it for bulk data transfers. You can still use the same BAPI or RFC as a simple function module call in a custom program and schedule the custom program to load data from the external systems through files during off-peak hours. This way your data is loaded into the system while it is not interrupting with the online users for resources.
IDOCs/RFC/BAPI/BI/DI/Call transactions/standard SAP program are the different interfacing/data conversion technologies you can use. Don't forget the powerful LSMW tool which is really easy to use and powerful enough to have complex mapping done and flexible enough to write some code to achieve some specific mapping transformations.
Bottom line is you have to evaluate what is best for your case and use it. It can be a mixture of all.

  • Forwarding XML/EDI from SAP Business connector to EDI (cloverleaf)

    Hello,
We are having issues setting SAP up to work with the business connector and our EDI system - cloverleaf.
For testing, we would like to:
    1.  Create an idoc in SAP and send it to the Busness Connector.
    2.  Have the busness connector send the doc via XML to our EDI system cloverleaf.
Currently, I have things setup like so:
    SAP/ECC6:
SM59: RFC setup as type T and works fine.
    WE20: Partner Type LS:
I have 2 message types setup (in outboard: I have "orders" and in Inbound I have the same).
in WE21: I have a cloverleaf (our EDI system) to run with the RFC destination I setup in SM59.
On the Business connector, I have the following under routing rules:
From SAP to the Business connector:
    Sender: 8805
    Reciver: 10000000008
    Message Type: Orders
    ACL Group: none
    Package: default
    Main Flow Services: wm.PartnerMgr.flows.88605.1000000008:ORDERS
    Transport: ALE (R3/IDOC)
    SAP destination: RD1 (our sid).
FOR my outgoing to our EDI system cloverleaf:
I am using the sender: * - Not sure if this should be SAP or the BC.
Reciver:  *  - Our EDI system.  our EDI system is listening on port 49001.
    Message Type: Orders
Under URL (not sure about this one)
    I have  http://reg2lxap0725:5555/MessagingSystem/receive/BcAdapter/BC
I am however stummped on how the URL shold look..
Now, when we test the above config...  I recive the following results in WE02.
    0000000000003024  25     03 Green Light: IDoc Successful Green     LS/  /SAPBC     ORDERS05     ORDERS     Outbox     CLOVERLEAF
For some reason, we also have an "inbound" that fails.
    0000000000003025  25     56 Red Light: IDoc Has Errors           KU/  /0000088605 ORDERS05 ORDERS Inbox     SAPRD1
My main question is however around routing...
We are trying to send these to our EDI system which is listening on 49001.
I am not sure how they want us to setup the routing rules to pass this over to the right port..
I have also  searched the documentation, and have not found any real step by step guides, so I may be missing a few things..
Any advice to point me to the right direction is greatly appriciated....
    Thanks  everyone,
    Richard

    Hello Prateek,
Thank you very much for your answer. The AdapterGuide was really helpfull.
Now the routing rule is associated to the correct Service (that was a the problem). So the rule started to process the XML files from the folder (the XML files disappeared immediately after I corrected the rule).
But now my problem is that on the SAP side there is no inbound IDOCs so it seems the trasmission may failed.
Moreover under "Routing"-->"Transactions" I don't see these entries with the the current date.
Our routing rule is simple: "wildcard" "wildcard" "wildcard" "ALE (R/3 IDOC)"--><OUR SAP SYSTEM>
The SAP connection is working as I can test under "SAP..." menu.
Is there any other way to monitor what had happened with these XML files? I'm sure the BC processed as the files are gone, but there is no IDOC in the destination SAP...
    Thanks a lot!

  • Making a call to a Business Connector Flow Service from within an ABAP prog

    Hello,
I am trying to make a change to one of the flow services within BUsiness COnnector.
The way the system is currently set up is that the flow service is called from within an ABAP program via an RFC call.
A remote FM exists in SAP and this is called by the program and there is a corresponding flo service within Business Connector.
I have basically copied an existing flow service which works fine and made a few minor tweaks. Within SAP, I have copied the remote FM and again made a few minor tweaks.
However, when I run the program, it short dumps at the point whee my remote FM is called with th following message :-
"Unknown Partner and Message Type. Sender: xxxx Receiver: xxxx MsgType:  "
I am not a Business Connector expert and I guess I am missing a ste but I'm not sure what it is.

  • Problem with Business Connector 4.8

Hi Everybody, first of all I would like to clarify that this is a question about SAP BC and NOT XI, but I did not know wherelse to put this message.
I have installed SAP BC 4.8. Created a new RFC map (SAP BC -> SAP) of a FM called Z_PO_GET_LIST.
Then went to Business Connector DEVELOPER and created an output template, XML type, for the output of the service.
When I test the service from the Business Connector SERVER it works perfect, I get as a result the desired XML with the PO Orders in the same format defined in the template.
When I test it from the Internet Explorer putting in the address bar http://localhost:5555/invoke/test/Z_PO_GET_LIST it also works great, and I get the expected XML as result.
The problem is when I try to cosume the service from an external .net application, I create an HTTP Client with all needed information (server, port, baseurl, etc) and when I send a POST to the service I get an XML with the result but NOT in the expected format (with all "value" tags instead of the tags that I defined in the template) but with this format:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    Values version="2.0">
    <value name="serverName">IDES_SERVER</value>
    <value name="$rfcname">Z_PO_GET_LIST</value>
    <record name="ZPO_CABEZALES" javaclass="com.wm.util.Table">
      <array name="cols" type="value" depth="1">

       <value>VENDOR</value>

       <value>CURRENCY</value>

      </array>
      <list name="rows">

        <value>3000</value>
        <value>F</value>
        <value>2004-05-04</value>
Does anyone please know how can I get the response from the service in the expected format (using the defined template) just in the same way I get it from the "test service" funtionality in the BC Server?
Any clue or help would be really appreciated and rewarded.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sebastian.

Can you post what your expected XML result looks like ? The values structure is an internal structure of how BC represents that information. What types are you passing back as output variables in your service ? A recordlist ? Is it possible that you forgot to call a service step which converts document to string (so that you get the desired XML) ?

  • IDoc Inbound Business Connector

    Hello
I am trying to send an inbound IDoc to SAP via Business Connector. This is shortly to be replaced by XI.
The flow in Business Connector creates a routing rule which is blank because it is not finding the control information from the IDoc I believe.
I think I am missing a step in my flow.
    Currently the flow is
    document to record
    Transform hierarchy to Flat.
Map ( mapping the fields into the IDoc)
    Record to Idoc
    Inbound process
The inbound process always fails because it doesnt recognise the message type, sender etc.
This is all the idoc and in record to Idoc this is an input with an output of Idoc list which is passed to the inbound process.
However Idoclist I believe doesn't seem to contain any data.
I think a step is missing can anyone help??
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Please see this.
    Hi,
BC adapter can be used when you want to communicate to a existing interface on Business Connector. If you are talking to SAP, you use RFC / IDOC adapters.
The SAP Business Connector (BC) is used in a large number of SAP production environments. SAP Business Connector will probably be gradually phased out and replaced by SAP XI technology. For the short term SAP Business connector and SAP XI will inevitably continue to coexist in companies IT landscapes.

  • SAP Business Connector certificate problem

We are trying trying to send data from SAP to bank via SAP business connector using bank URL. We have configured the certificates in SAP BC which are authenticated by bank on the basis of private key generated from our server. Now when we trying to post data to bank it is giving below error.
java.lang.RuntimeException: iaik.security.ssl.SSLCertificateException: Peer certificate rejected by TrustDecider
Any idea? Please give me some suggestions to resole this problem.
    Thanks and Regards

Normally I do not like to give documentation references, but in this case I think it makes sense. Certificate handling is an ugly and complicated topic, so many things can go wrong. Please check the SAP BC 4.7 Administration Guide, page 103 onwards ("Securing communications with the server"). It explains very well what needs to be done. Make sure you configured everything correctly.
