External file TXT (Prefs) in DCR?

I seek for help for lingo programming...
I make an external TXT file using set pref and get pref.
It can be accessed normally by PROJECTOR.EXE
The Text I made and save in the external TXT File can be
showed in the projector.exe.
I wanted to publish it to the web, so I compile the
projector.exe to projector.DCR
So there are 2 files the small DCR file and the HTML file.
BUT when I open the HTML and showing the DCR inside,
The external TXT file didn't shown up in the DCR. Justa BLANK
text shown.
Is there any suggestion for me? Plz help.

Creating external files (.txt, .json, etc)

Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to find out how to create external files from a SWF/exe/app file created in Flash. Essentially I'm building a program to create templates for levels in a game. The SWF will be run locally (e.g. not online) and will allow the user to add/remove objects to a level of their design. They then need to be able to save the level template (ideally I need to be able to save as a JSON* file, but I'm sure I could get away with just a simple txt file) somewhere on their computer. These templates will them be imported by the game itself (not written in Flash, hence why I need to save the data as a json or txt file), which will then re-create the levels from the data contained in the save file.
I had assumed this would be something that was really simple to do, but I cannot seem to find any tutorials or information on how to create external files. I can find plenty on reading from existing external files, but nothing about actually writing a new file entirely. I have read a few people complaining that non-local Flash SWFs cannot access the user's hard drive for security reasons, but cannot find any information on local SWFs.
If anyone could tell me even roughly what I'm looking for, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit stuck just now haha

Reference list of Identifiers from external file (ie .txt file)

I was hoping someone may be able to help me with a conceptual (and then technical...) line of thought?
I have a list of roughly 7000 loans to interrogate in an excel spreadheet or text file, is there a way I can get my query to reference this list, regard it as a temporary table and join it to an SQL query?
The list of loans are unique 8 digit identifiers. I have a very simple SQL query over two core tables that brings back the balance and currency for all loans on our system but I want to get these fields for the 7000 loans in question only.
I would normally just query all the loans and use a vlookup in Excel but the numbers are too big to make this viable.
The only method I currently have in place is to loop through the identifers one by one, querying each separately. Running the same query 7000 times seems rather inefficient!!
Is this a reasonable concept? If so I shall need some help with how to reference the external file, which will be gratefully received!!

You're right this is ad-hoc, but this sort of situation arises all the time where I am given a list of identifiers to furnish with data, if I can figure out how to use external files it will be very useful. At least having some knid of work around would help.

Most probably the column or table may be having more than 5 records and hence we need to read the corresponding blob content and write to an external file.

If there's a continuing issue, stay with the same thread, don't just ask the same question again and again, it's really Pi**es people off and causes confusion as not everyone will be familiar with what answers you've already had. You're just wasting people's time by doing that.
As already mentioned before, convert your BLOB to a CLOB and then to XMLTYPE where it can be treated as XML and written out to file in a variety of ways including the way I showed you on the other thread.
You really seem to be struggling to get the worst possible way to work.

Is it possible to link and update external files in a Indesign document when sharing the Indesign file in Creative Cloud with multiple users?

I am new to Creative Cloud, but have been using Adobe software for many years.
Now we are considering sharing an Indesign file with my project group using CC.
The Indesign file contains links to external files (one Illustrator and multiple .txt files); and we export the approved version to an Hi-Res PDF.
These .txt files are currently hosted on our internal server but have not been linked directly: we first copy them over to local desktop and update the links in Indesign before creating a new PDF.
Since these file can be update by different people we would like to keep them outside the Indesign and Illustrator files.
Is it still possible with CC to link directly to the files on our server in Indesign and see if there have been updated?
Or can they also be stored in the CC cloud? Or is there another method?

This will work if you all use the file syncing of the Creative Cloud desktop application and then you use the Collaborate option for the folder containing all the files. Then it will work on each of your desktops.
Links to files will not work in the browser when viewing the InDesign document from https://creative.adobe.com/files.

Help with delivering dynamic text through an external file, through XML?

I'm struggling to find the best way to deliver dynamic text
from an external file, through XML, to a Flash file.
I use small Flash pieces to deliver multiple sets of content
through a single .swf file. An example is here:

issue that I can't seem to get multiline dynamic text working in
CS3.
The font is embedded but it just displays the first line, and
then a blank. I'm sure this worked fine in Flash MX.

Creating Target Group from External File

Hello Experts
We need to create target group from external file. (That is to say we will have let's say txt file containing BP that belongs to specific target group and we need to assign these BPs to to specific target group in SAP CRM)
I have searched for it on sdn and found something benefical. I have found BAPI_TARGETGROUP_CREATE, I have checked it but I don't understand how should we use it becuase as far as we understand it just creates target group, we cannot see anything related with Business Partner. How can we relate BPs with the target group we create by this BAPI.
What should we do, is anyone have previous experience about it? or is there a way to do it without using BAPI.

Hi,
You can do this from within the standard Web UI. It's straight out of the box.
Create a profile set and in there create a target group in the target group assignment block just by entering the description of the target group. Then enter edit mode of this target group and click the button "Import Members". Remeber to mark "Change selected target group" unless you want to create a new target group.

How to include external files when building installer for a standalone executable?

Hi,
I was trying to build a stand alone executable from my Labview project and I was able to do it successfully. Now I would like to include a few external .txt files in the installer. Those .txt files have parameters/constants that will be used by the program, and my program needs to load/read them when running. For now I have to manually copy/paste them into the target machine, but I really hope the installer can do it automatically. I see there is a "data" folder in the installer, and that's where I hope those .txt files can be added into.
How can I do it? Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks!

I could not find "Add file" when right clicking the project. See attached image please. Under "Project" I do have a "Add to project" but there is no option for external files. I did not find "Source" location either.
What did i do wrong? Is there any version requirement here? I have a 2010 base version. Thanks for your help.

Textinput issue from external file in AIR application (Is it bcz of mask?)

I can key in external file's text input after load. But i got "Security Sandbox Violation" error.

Yes, the addedToStage handler is executed every time. I set my host application up to work exactly with that behaviour. There are several events going from client to host to help the communication inside the the application. I can't get behind the reason why it won't work.
I made a case where I created a camera instance inside the host application and passed it over to the client via
client.setupFunction(inArg: arg, sendCamera: Camera);
That works. But I also need a microphone, and I can't get the mic working over with the same technique. And also I'd prefer to have it all in the client, cause I designed the application model to work exactly in that fashion.
I guess it's a secruity sandboxing problem, but I can't find any documentation on this issue.

Design View not displaying external files...HELP!

This is my second attempt asking for anybody's help. I'm using Dreamweaver 8.0.2 (OS X 10.4.11) and when I open "any" of my local files In "Design View" NO external files loads. Here's what I've done so far to no avail:
Delete "site cache"
Delete all pref files
Made sure "Display External Files" is check
Made sure "Style Rendering --> Display Files" is check (using screen media type)
Check that my firewall is disabled
Renamed local root DIR of site file
Searched the web, forums, etc...none of the answers worked
Reinstalled DW 8.....TWICE!
2 weeks ago I did updates to my website and everything was just fine. And now, nothing is working. All I can see is text and all of DIV blocks...but all external CSS and INC files fails to load. Been trying to fix this for 2 days now. Can anyone "please" give me some ideas to fix this problem.

Hi - without seeing the actual page code, I'll take a stab that possibly you've lost the link to your stylesheets...?
If you view the code, somewhere inside the "head" tags (generally right under the "Title", you should have a reference to any of your external stylesheets/images, etc.) Something like this:
<link href="name_of_stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
If no images are showing up as well, my guess is that you've moved the page (or the images and stylesheet) into a different folder/or subfolder without updating the links. Any time you move a file, it should be done within dreamweaver (and it will always ask if you want to update links). If you move a file without using DW, it will definitely break all links, and no amount of re-installing, re-caching, etc. will fix it (sorry)...
If this is the case, the best way to rectify would be to move the file back to where you had it... if this isn't the reason for the broken links, you'll need to manually re-update all of the links because something else has broken the linkage... (sorry again...)

How to refresh the content of an external file

I need to use an external file, no matter the extension(txt .xls .xml .mdb .csv) in the oracle BI rpd.
I Use this file like a center table in my star schema and this file need to refresh frequently.
How i can see, dynamically, the changes in the file without restart the services?I've tried by Answer to see all the record in the file, but if i change the file content and after, by answer, try to see the content.... it's the same as first!
I can do something to overcome this problem? or i have to use external table??

It seems to me that you are trying to reinvent the wheel here. Having the BI Server load a 100,000 rows file is nto a good idea. The BI Server is not an ETL tool. While I could see why you may want to refresh the file frequently a better process would be to load it using standard ETL tools, create indexes etc and the move it to current table for OBIEE to see. You can use the OBIEE's Event Polling to clear the cache. Another simpler option if you are using an Oracle database is to use external tables. External tables allow you to define a table in an Oracle database that it's source is a text file. Google it and you will plenty of samples.

Strange problem displaying external files (css includes)

Hope somebody can help me with this. First of all, I'm running mac os x 10.4.11 using dreamweaver 8.0.2.
Just recently i've been unable to display any external files (namingly my css; attached as includes) when I open a local document. Tried to delete my "site cache" as well as re-creating the site prefs and made sure "Display External Files" is checked under COMMANDS. Still nothing. Anyone have a idea it just all of a sudden stopped displaying all external fles???

I tried testing the RSS feed using a FeedReader, and it works with that. But, when I try feed the same URL ( http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss ) as the XML source in the Omniportlet, I get the following error message:
Error
Failed to open specified URL. Check the following: is the URL is active; is there a valid proxy setting or, if HTTP authentication is required, check user name and password. [http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss]
Here is how the proxy is defined in the Provider.xml file:
